Poorly managed and disorganized. They bring out items one thing at a time. First the salad. When you're done with the salad, then the bread sticks. Had to go to the kitchen to remind them. Then the meat. Chicken/ tri tip. When you've asked them repeatedly for the mashed potatoes they bring it when you're packing up. They shouldn't be in this business if they can't handle it. This place just opened this week. They had been working on forever so I thought I'd try it. You walk in and order like you were at a fast food place. You pay. They hand your drink cup(s), brownie/cookie (if you ordered one), receipt, and gps gadget so the server can find you when your meal is ready. You go fill up your drinks at the beverage station. Pickup utensils and a plate if you need it. Then go find at clean table to sit. Then wait for your food to be brought out to your table. When we were looking for a table, we found them to be cleared off and wiped down. However, you could still see wipe marks and fingerprints. They just didn't look or feel clean. The staff were all nice, busily delivering food or clearing tables. You could hear the staff in the back working. The food was decent. The pulled pork tasted good, most of it was moist, but center pieces were still unfortunately dry. The garlic mashed potatoes were good as far as texture was concerned, but lacked flavor. There was a piece of cheese melted on the side that appeared to be accident, but it added a little flavor. I got a brownie, but wished I hadn't. I didn't care for the fudge, wet texture. While it wasn't the best food or dining experience, it was good enough to warrant a likely return visit. read more

LOVED THIS PLACE! We frequent the Pasadena location and were so happy to find the food was consistently as delicious and the service was friendly and fast. Loved the calm, mood-lit atmosphere too. I walked in with my family, we were presented with a menu that has probably 100 items on it, told how the ordering and seating procedure worked, and then we just stood there in the doorway gazing at the menu. I appreciate the ladies running the front wanting to give good service, but it is very frustrating trying to decide essentially a sit-down family of 4 meal with them asking if you're ready to order every couple minutes. We walked out without ordering and went to Chili's instead. That is far, far too large of a menu to be treating it like a fast food restaurant. Why not just have actual servers since they are going to be bringing your food to you anyways? You're already paying them to stand in the doorway and essentially do nothing. I'll discourage everyone from eating here unless they know exactly what they want before going in. We won't be back. Update - In response to Stonefire's comment: I'm sure your food is better than your typical fast food place (though some reviews say otherwise). However, your prices are the equivalent of a full service, sit down restaurant. Your FORMAT is the equivalent of a fast food restaurant because of your pain in the butt ordering system with no service beyond the counter. Just take a look at your other negative reviews that say the same thing. This place is very misleading from the outside and it's a shame. I was actually looking forward to trying something on your menu, but considering I could barely get in the front door before I was displeased with your service, GOODBYE! Seriously? You're asking your customers to take their time looking through that huge menu? Other potential customers were backing up behind us at the door (another reviewer mentioned that it's a fire hazard), and the pressure to order something right then was ridiculous. Walked in to be greeted by the hostesses with an absolutely great atmosphere. It was my first time and didn't really know how ordering worked. You order at the desk you are greeted, to pick your choice of seats and booths to have waiters/waitresses drop the food off at the table. I ordered the ribs and tri-tip combo plate with the Greek salad and the food was absolutely amazing! However the only con about the place was the timing of when my party of 5 received their food. The pasta my sister ordered came out first then 5 mins later my salad, along with the main coarse continuing the different timings. Out of respect my family will wait for everyone to receive their main course before digging in so it was a little frustrating. It would have been 5 stars if we all ate at the same time. Father's day lunch. We had a party of 6 we ordered 3 french dips 1 pizza and 2 orders of the chicken breasts with garlic mashed potatoes. We got the French dips first then the pizza by the time we received our chicken everyone had finished their meals we also had to wait about 5 minutes for them to bring our mashed potatoes after receiving our chicken. I have been to the Rancho Cucamonga location twice. The décor is very modern which is great but the service and food unfortunately was not. Both times I have had to wait a long time (10-15min) for tables to be cleared so my family and I (party of 3) could sit down. Also, both times they served us the wrong order and it took a while for them to correct it. I personally think the food and sauces are bland and I do not like that you can't mix and match things since their sides are very limited. Their breadsticks honestly taste like nothing and I'm not the type of person to walk away from free bread sticks. In my opinion this place needs new management and/or older more knowledgeable employees. read more

Since opening day hubby and I have been here multiple times(Almost once every other week). At first we loved it, we had our new favorite spot. Unfortunately it no longer is. In our previous visits we started not feeling too well after eating and stopped going for awhile since I was pregnant and didn't want to take any risks. However we decided to give it one last try today and see if it could be our spot to go to again, sadly we were extremely disappointed. We ordered the tri tip for two, comes with salad, bread sticks mashed potato's (but you can pick your side), the only things we liked were the mashed potatoes and breadsticks! I had ordered the tri tip medium rare and received it well done and when eating it, it was so bland and chewy to where I struggled to even chew it. Now the salad they gave us was starting to go bad since some of it was nasty grey. The dressing has wayyyyy to much garlic, even putting a little bit of it on what was good of the salad has too much garlic. Don't get me wrong, the portions are really great but the food needs some serious improvements, idk of it was because my order was a phone order instead of dine in but it shouldn't take away the quality of the food. I love Stone Fire Grill. I would always go to the one in Fountain Valley for lunch with my friends. So when I saw Rancho was getting one I was very excited since I now live in Rancho. Anyway, we came here after a long day of swimming my girls ordered pasta and ate it all which always makes me happy. My son ordered a kids sausage pizza and ate it all as well. He even ate the crust and he never does, he said it was the best pizza he had ever had. My sister and I shared the tri tip meal, she had the Mediterranean salad and she said it was delicious, I ordered a side of cauliflower salad and it was too mayo base. Whatever the dressing is on it I did not like. I think I will try the plain roasted cauliflower next time. Our tri tip was very good, it was cooked med. rare which is just perfect! My mom got the pasta with half marinara and half pesto. She was pretty happy with it, but it was a little cold when it hit the table. But it was busy. For desert we got a brownie and oh my!! So good!!!! Best brownie ever! I want to get another one since we shared it. Haha. The service up front was great. The service when we were at our table was okay. The bussers were quick to get our dirty dishes off the table when we were done so that was awesome! For a 5th star I would have liked to have better seating for a party of 6. The booths are only big enough for 4 and there are not that many tables that our party of 6 fit in. Also it would have been nice to have a manager table touch our table to ask how things are. But all in all, I am so excited for Stonefire Grill to be here in Rancho. Keep up the great service and yummy food coming! Oh and the prices are very reasonable. But the prices are decent and you get quite a bit of food. Last visit we got the tri-tip for two which included a salad and a side and breadsticks for 19.99,more than enough food. The staff are not hospitable and not wanting to manager come walking around to check on guests for such a new restaurant you would think that they would have taught their staff to be a little more friendly to guests and be a little more helpful there were no dinner place settings on the table it took about 10 minutes to get them however wants the food arrived it was very delicious we were never checked on or ask if we need anything else he was kind of just left to our own after ordering the best place I can compare this upgraded Sizzler however at Sizzler at least the staff are very friendly and helpful I would recommend this place to have dinner at its very yummy I only can hope that the management works on their staff and customer interactions I give this place five stars for food and three star customer service read more

Today I placed an online order to be picked up at 1:30pm & I walked in to a full house! I was greeted by a manger named Monica who was very nice. I was so shocked on how busy they were so I figured my food wouldn't be ready for a while since the line was out the door. I then see a young lady who was helping out Monica pack my order & made sure I was taken care of immediately. It was as if they were prioritizing my order. Jessica then reviewed the order with me & helped me take my food to the car, which was very kind. The food was so delicious. We got ribs tri tip chicken salad & breadsticks ( the bread was my family's FAVORITE) Give those chefs a shoutout cause they know what they're doing back there. This is not your typical restaurant. When you first walk in there are cashiers up front with a menu up on a big screen. You have to place your order first. It puts lots of pressure on you because there are tons of other people waiting behind you out the door. You seat yourself. The fountain drinks are way in the back along with all the utensils, plates, napkins etc. If you order water they give you a child's size plastic cup. You pretty much set up your own table. The employees bring the food and you have to serve yourself. We got up several times to refill our water. They don't have any steak sauce!! Wth??? No steak sauce??? Food was nothing special. Garlic breadsticks were thin and flimsy. The tri tip was supposed to be well done and it came back undercooked. No good dipping sauces. The plates slide around when you are trying to cut the meat. We stood in line again to order dessert. Ugh. The cheesecake crust was like cement. I couldn't cut it! To top it off there were tons of flys inside and a hair in my son's chicken strips. My husband and I took our family of 5 here for dinner, we had ordered tri-tip for two and two kids meals a basket of bread sticks and two drinks and it was under $40 can't really beat that price ! The tri-tip was juicy (better than Lucille's ) the garlic mash potatoes were to die for the salad was great the staff was great! Came in with 2 friends and order tri tip steak asked for medium and was given a over cooked steak. The server took forever to come by and didn't see a manager around. By the time I was over it and not hungry the server finally came back and I mentioned my steak was over cooked she replied that's how I ordered it well done. They don't listen to your instructions for online ordering. Multiple times I have selected a BBQ chicken pizza and receive a pizza with no BBQ sauce. Don't offer the option for BBQ sauce as the base of a pizza if your staff isn't going to make it correctly. First time trying this restaurant at the Rancho Cucamonga location. The place is easy to find with plenty of parking when we arrived (11am). The ambiance is modern/rustic with a fireplace in the center of the restaurant. The set up is fast food meets dine in. You order at the counter when you walk in. You then seat yourself, get your own drinks and utensils after ordering. The food is delivered to your table but that was the extent of table service. Not sure if this is the norm, or just our experience during this visit. The food is good. We tried the tri-tip/ chicken breast and tri-tip/ribs combo. You can choose from BBQ or a gorgonzola & herb flavor. Both are good options but I liked the BBQ a little more. The meat was well cooked and came as ordered (medium). The entree came with breadstick and choice of sides. I highly recommend the garlic mashed potato. Overall it was a good first experience. The menu also has salads, sandwiches and pizza on the menu in addition to tri-tp, chicken, pulled pork and ribs. read more
