My boyfriend ordered food for father's day yesterday for us and his family. As expected, father's day is a very busy day to get takeout. We ordered at 12:30 and it took about an hour to get here (not terrible). However, by the time it got here, the pizza was cold. In addition, the salad we ordered had no dressing. When we called the store, the manager on duty claimed that it wasn't their fault our food was cold and if we wanted the salad dressing that badly, we should come back. We ordered through postmates, so we didn't want to leave the house in general, especially during COVID. I work in a restaurant as well and we always take responsibility for food quality and outcome, and if something is missing we always give credit for the next visit. Tonight was our first time trying this place, I had high hopes when we walked into this gorgeous setup. We went to order and the poor guy on the checkout didn't know what he was doing... now maybe he was new, maybe it wasen't his usual job to be taking orders...but it definately wasen't because it was overly busy, we kept asking for Mac and cheese and he kept saying no we couldn't get it. For some reason I guess he thought we were asking to have it as a side ... then he said I couldn't get a Diet Coke... another misunderstanding. So we sit and another guy brings our Mac and cheese. Since it's our first time and no one explained how it works we asked if we were suppose to get our plates and silverware...guy was nice and said no worries I'll get it for you. Comes back with one plate for the two of us. The rest of our food comes, we each had a sandwich ... the ratio of bread to meat is wayyyyyy off. This huge piece of beautiful crispy bread with about two tablespoons of pulled pork on one and a slice of tritip on the other sandwhich. I ended up taking it apart and just ate the slice of meat. Let's just say the pics didn't match the meal. Unfortunately we won't go back here, the staff seemed nice but I don't think I saw one staff member smile even ...almost like they were all miserable being there. I felt bad for them. read more

The food isn't bad, actually it's pretty good. I just didn't like the order and delivery process. It's not kid friendly number one, you know, they always need attention first and just something to start them off. It keeps them occupied and happy. Placed the order online for a 3:30 pickup. They did not get the order, but said they could have it it in approx 10 minutes. This was supposed to be my husband's birthday dinner. Believe me, we refer to him as 'Disposal", because he will eat practically anything. The tri tip and the baby backs were fair, but the potato salad was horrible as well as the beans. I have been to different Stonefire Grill locations and the one in Torrance is simply the best! The staff is friendly and the food is always fresh and plentiful. OMG!!!!!! This place is incredible!!!! Everything is so fresh and homemade!!! Had the Tri tip and garlic mashed....WOW WOW WOW. My son had a bbq chicken pizza that was the best I've had. ( I've had a lot of pizza!!!). This is our new favorite place. Great staff, large dining area and an extensive menu of everything yummy!!! The manager, Rick, was all over asking how the food is. Food was ok. Menu way too complex. Food for four came out very slowly. Hot entree first, salads later. Personally I can't stand the concept of order at counter and then get food served to you. The young staff was really clueless that salads should come first and entrees should come out later. First timer. Came in starving and turned down 2 fave restaurants of mine to try this place. Customer service could've been a little better when I ordered. I ordered petite tri tip with cauliflower salad and side of mash potatoes. My son ordered from kids menu a sausage pizza. My order came out pretty quick but it was my sons kids pizza that took a while I had to chase someone down just to ask if they could check on it. Tried tip was delish, the mash potatoes were also but I didn't like the burnt hard layer that came with it, gross. I ate around it. The cauliflower salad was a disappointment I didn't like the flavor and the breadsticks r supposedly fresh per the menu but our breadsticks came and they were hardly edible, they were so hard it was a shame. I had higher expectations when I walked in, did not expect to have to get my own plates, silverware etc. I ordered for my husband the tri-tip medium rare with nutty cole slaw and a side of garlic potatoes. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The first item to be delivered to the table was his tri-tip. We had to wait for two more deliveries to get the rest of the food, and the meat was overcooked "well done" and was cold by the time we got the rest of our food. I gave this place another chance as the restaurant robot asked but no improvement at all. The ribs are tasteless, no seasoning, you have to smother them with sugary BBQ sauce, so they taste edible. This restaurant is an insult to BBQ, over priced but the coleslaw is good. Ribs stink!!!!! I make better ribs at Thanksgiving on the grill as a appetizer before the turkey. The 5 star reviews on the ribs are either bought and paid for or Covid-19 has taken their taste buds. Try some seasoning on your ribs....definitely not smoked... no smoke ring..you can do better at home on your grill or in a crockpot than these completely tasteless ribs. The manager, Travis, I've seen two times. Always pleasant and wanting to know how my experience was. The first time I visited, I was wanting vegetables so I ordered the Cali flower Pita. We went here on their second night of officially being open. Got there a little before 6 and had no wait at all. The menu is large, so we had to study it for a while before deciding on what to order. Meals are served on platters, family style. You pick up plates and silverware next to the drink machines. Drinks are pretty much the normal soda fountain plus a couple of different brewed iced teas (much appreciated!). The 1/4 chicken and ribs meal (with bread sticks and a small salad) was more than enough to feed the two of us. The lemon-garlic chicken was moist and good, the ribs were outstanding. The cartwheel salad didn't do much for us; we will pick a different one next time. You order at the counter, and food is delivered to your table. All of the employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's a new place and they are still working out the bugs in the system, so we weren't terribly surprised to experience a couple of glitches. The manager proactively noticed and took steps to rectify the situation. With that kind of attention, I'm sure the place will be running smoothly in the next few days. I used to go to the Lakewood location until the Torrance one was built. This was my second time going to the Torrance location... I picked-up New Years Eve dinner only to discover that they forgot the breadsticks once I got home. Someone apparently called me, but left no VM. On my way back, I called and spoke with Andrew, the Manager. Although I had to make a second trip, he more than made-up for the error by correcting it, giving complimentary desert, and comping the entire order (!). In all my dining experiences, I've seldom come across any issues - but of the times I have - Andrew is most superb at resolving and compensating. My family loves Stonefire Grill, and it's service like this that'll keep us coming back for meals to come!!! read more

Just a bit perturbed by the cashier at 7pm , yes its Fathers Day and everyone knows it's going to busy ( hint to the management) , of her attitude and service. We, your customers , stand in line for about 45minutes and expect to have a cheerful smile and exceptional service for the party of 8 that we brought to your establishment. Upon giving our order, 7pm, we are told we are out of whole chicken, out of ribs, (who ordered the food quantity on one of the busiest days and you run out ?) but it was how it was said by the cashier. As if we were being inconvenient to order these items. Then ordered medium tri-tip and it came out rare. I'm third inline at the door, I get to the door in around 5 minutes give them my name they go back to the table where they are staging the food, I see they look at a receipt and come back to the door and say "we are just waiting on bread sticks, it'll be a few minutes" 15 minutes later they come out and call my name. So this whole time my other food has just been sitting on a table under no heat. So everything was cold.
