Stonefire use to be amazing. Unfortunately in the last couple years it has gone down hill. It's a gamble on the orders every time. The salads have been consistently awful, with sitting orange water in the bottom of the container or a smelly and slimy consistency. Definitely not fresh! The tri-tip has a large hard like fat on the bottom that is inedible. I keep going back hoping for a change but I am done giving them a chance. Rattlers is sooo much better and way more consistent. read more

So very, very disappointed with Stone Fire tonight. We have eaten here many times. We ordered the Stimulus Package and our wait time was 30 min. No big deal. We showed up in 30 min and were met with curbside service. Great. 25 min later we got our food and the pizza box wasn't even warm so we checked it. Cold. Talked to a manager named Wendy and she said it would take 3-4 min to remake it. 10 min later we got our reheated pizza back. It was warm. Got home and all our other food was cold now. Reheating in microwave now and wishing we had chose another restaurant for dinner. Meat wasn't sliced and pizza was destroyed. Not happy. I have eaten at Stonefire for years and while you can always count on whatever you order being right, the last few visits their staff has not be friendly. My last visit I order over the phone and showed up for curbside pickup and they didn't have my order. Instead of making my order (after I sat their for 30 minutes) the girl just handed my card back and said there was no order. So.. they could use some serious customer service training. I understand with the current health crisis, restaurants are trying to acclimate to the mandates, however it doesn't excuse a poor attitude, while customers are trying to also support small businesses. Stonefire Grill is your perfect lunch spot! The menu is huge and has lots of salads, sandwiches, and bigger entree options from the grill. Not to mention their portions are huge and the prices are amazing. In the past I always got the keen green salad and it's the best! It only comes in a petite size which is the smallest size they have but even that is huge and is enough for 2 meals. It comes with a homemade pesto which is bomb! Today I decided to try something new and got the golden state kale salad and I liked it for a change! Not as good as the keen green but I would definitely get it again. I also got a side of garlic mashed potatoes which were amazing! My friend got the half roasted chicken plate and loved it. Said it was very tender and moist and enough for 2 meals as well! I absolutely love this place. I've never had a bad experience here. The food is always good, We even ordered some catering for my work's Christmas party. Today I went for lunch with my girlfriend, and as always it was great. The prices are still pretty reasonable when you consider they make everything in-house. The young man named Nick who brought out our food was very polite, and had an infectious smile. I could tell he was happy to be serving us. I would totally recommend eating here, but come with an appetite or be prepared to bring home leftovers, their portions are very generous. read more

I can't even explain how angry I am at this restaurant that I've supported for 10 years. I called at approximately noon on 12/31 to order a large order for pickup around 4:45pm. I tried to do it online but it said they had filled up at that time. The person I spoke with mentioned to call an hour before to place the order. I've been sitting on the phone to place the order from 2 different cell phones for over 45 minutes. I will never put another dollar into this restaurant. I've tried a few things from here. The pesto pasta was super good. Pesto sauce was very flavorful and the dish was simple yet indulgent. Would definitely recommend considering their huge portions are good for the price. Chicken Caesar salad was really good too. Not just an average salad. Dressing was extremely flavorful and every time I get it it's fresh. Carrot cake is my favorite dessert from there. The cream cheese frosting isn't too tart and the cake is moist. So indulgent and the best dessert from there. Wasn't a fan of the mashed potatoes- tasted really weird, sour, and had (fried?) cheese chunks that I put to the side. Wouldn't recommend the brownie either. Fudge flavor is there but had a weird texture that was off putting. Overall pretty good restaurant and the curbside is pretty easy. read more

So we've ate here before many times. We ordered the bbq chopped salad, breadsticks and a small pepperoni pizza. The salad and breadsticks were fine. We had to wait quite sometime for our pizza to arrive. When our pizza did arrive it was dry and looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. We said something to the waiter who was taking care of our table and he spoke to a manager and said they would make a fresh pizza for us. When it came, it didn't look any better than the first one. My family loves Stonefire Grill- they're Lemon Chicken is a favorite of my daughter. My parents love the salads particularly the Roasted Corn and Arugula. Today we got a half- Lemon Chicken a la carte and a full basket of breadstick and have them for dinner. I am very, very surprised and disappointed to see my Chicken bloody- I really hope that you guys document temperatures of food especially Chicken because this will make people sick! It could be just an isolated issue and I understand it gets really busy but this could be fatal for some with compromised immune system. Please keep a closer eye on this. read more

After reading the rave reviews we went way out of our way to eat here. I had the sesame grilled salmon with salad and bread sticks. My daughter had the chopped BBQ chicken salad. My salmon and breadsticks were good but the salad was tasteless. It was supposed to have ranch dressing on it. The dressing looked and tasted like milk. My daughter's salad had no BBQ flavor at all and she found several bones in her chicken. When the server came by to pick up our dirty dishes she could plainly see that we had not eaten much of our food. She asked how everything was and I explained our dissatisfaction with the meal. All she did was explain that the BBQ chicken is marinated in BBQ sauce and then the salad is tossed with more sauce. I told her it had no BBQ flavor at all and all she did was say "sorry we usually make it good " and walked away. Not a good way to treat customers. read more

I have been here many times when we lived in SCV and they have never disappointed me. That is a very rare occurrence when it comes to bbq with me. The chicken and tri-tip are reasonably priced and always done very well. I am very skeptical when it comes to beef at most restaurants but Stonefire hits the mark. What really makes Stonefire a great place is their sides are absolutely killer. They add so much to the overall meal and once again, the prices are much better than expected. You also can order pizza and pasta as well. The MUST GET item is the tri-tip salad. There is so much meat in it, its truly a delight to eat. It is hands down my favorite thing to get there. With the Covid situation going on now, Stonefire came thru for us bigtime after a long day of moving with our to-go order. A perfect meal that lasted us for 3 days. If you can believe it, this was my first time eating at Stonefire! I've heard so much hype from everyone raving about the food here. I have to say that they were right and I was pleasantly surprised! I like the concept of ordering first and sitting down to eat. The location had plenty of seating and had space to accommodate large groups(of which I was part of today). Now to the food: We had the 1/4 chicken and ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, 1/4 chicken and tri-tip, cole slaw and garden salads! All were tasty and delicious! I have been here twice in the past month, and can say this is a pretty solid place to grab lunch. I have had salad both times, the first being the South if the Border, and the second the BBQ Chicken! yum! they are both great, but the BBQ chicken really has so much flavor! I also got the carrot cake. The. Carrot. Cake. So so good! Highly recommend! It's moist (sorry- no other word for it) and one of the best carrot cakes I have eaten! Both times I have been here have been at peak lunch times, but the place is efficient and you get your food fairly quickly. The half chicken is what I will go for next! Looks delish! read more

Beware!!! My fiancé and I came here for dinner on Mother's Day. I ordered a Caesar salad and found a bug in my food! I was so disgusted! My fiancé got up from the table to find the manager and all he said was that he was sorry. He didn't even come to the table to apologize. I was so upset that I called a server to the table to show them the disgusting bug in my salad. The server was more concerned than the actual manager on duty. That's very disappointing. Came here with my large family. They were patient with us when we were ordering. There were enough seatings for the 12 of us. The food came individually which was awkward but okay. I understand why they do it. Their petite is vague. My family members order the lunch special which said the items were petite. I ordered the petite pesto. It's not really a petite. This place is american portion in that sense. However, other petite dishes such as chicken and salmon which really petite size. So I am not sure on their portion. They mention the salmon and chicken we're pretty dry. My other family members ordered sandwiches and two Mac n cheese. We had a problem, they only gave us one Mac n cheese. My aunt notified them and they quickly fixed it. In the confusion, somehow the waiter gave us not only the second Mac n cheese but a pesto as well. It was a mistake they gave it to us anyways. The Mac n cheese here is apparently really good. The kids with us liked it. I was told by my cousin that her mash potatoes were too salty and buttery. Wouldn't mind coming back for special or some of the portion. People here are really nice and patient. read more

Loved that they have different menus for people with dietary restrictions. The roasted veggies were my favorite. In addition to what's in the pic we also ordered roasted veggies with feta cheese, and the grilled shrimp that come with quinoa. Roasted veggies had a really good flavor, they had mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini and bell peppers. Veggies had a nice char to them, were well salted, and the creaminess was from the feta cheese complimented the sweetness from the veggies. Roasted Cauliflower and the roasted corn were ok. The tri-tip was a bit bland and dry. Normally I would have ordered that medium rare but mom does not like to see red in her meat so I ordered it medium well, that was part of the problem. The char from the grill comes through on the meat, and the butter helped add a bit more flavor at first. After the melts your taste bud are left with piece of meat that's a bit tough, the meat should melt in your mouth with the butter but doesn't. Next time I'll have to order the tri-tip medium rare to see how much of a difference that makes. The shrimp dish was served with quinoa, it had a strong lemon flavor that overpowered the dish and made it a little hard to eat, which is a shame because the shrimp was well cooked. My parents ordered the French dip sandwich, said it was a bit dry and were not impressed. The French dip is probably something we wont order again. Overall we had a good experience, it is wonderful that they accommodate people with dietary restrictions. I love that they had lots of veggies option and the prices aren't bad. Would want to come back and try their other grilled meat options. read more

I'm sad I have to write such a negative review about Stonefire as this was one of our favorite spots to eat. I can give you the best advice so that you don't experience what my husband and I did. Don't eat dinner here close to 8pm or closing time. As soon as we sat down, I should've known something was wrong because our food came within 10-15 minutes. We ordered the salmon meal, salad and ribs. It was obvious that our food was left over from the day and reheated. It was gross! My garlic potatoes were extremely DRY like stale. My salmon was DROWNED in sesame glaze sauce and had the horrible fish taste you get when you reheat salmon. And my breadsticks were extremely hard, and over cooked from reheating obviously. I sent back my breadsticks only to have the same ones returned plus 2. It was obvious they poured Parmesan cheese and butter over them to cover the burned parts. I couldnt even bite them because they were so hard and dry. I got so angry that I went to the manager and showed her the disgusting reheated food. She stared at it like she didn't know what to tell me. Again Ive eaten here many times and know what fresh cooked food taste and looks like. Only reason I ate some of the salmon was because I was starving as it was my late dinner so I picked at the pieces that were the least fish tasting, overcooked, and loaded with sesame glaze. The manager gave me my money back for my salmon meal. I would've preferred she have them make my food over-fresh. After all, I paid for it.
