I went there yesterday to dine in with my sister and my kids. I have enjoyed getting take out from Stonefire, but DO NOT DINE IN. There is an overwhelming sewage smell that is really nauseating. But we overlooked that and ordered anyway and then my meat and salad came out ( not my side or breadsticks....) but nobody else's food did. Then maybe 5 minutes later my sister got her salad and sandwich. Still no side or breadsticks for me as my meat sits there getting cold, and no food for my poor kids who are starving at this point (as I share my food with them). I had also ordered chips and guacamole to come out first, and even checked on it when my entree came out but it still didn't make any appearance. maybe TEN minutes later my son gets his food and my daughter continues to wait. Finally a few minutes later she gets her macaroni and the appetizer and my side finally arrives (still no breadsticks). Then we are overwhelmed with baskets and plates because they brought each thing separately, but the entire meal nobody came to check on us or clear plates and there was nobody walking around that we could flag down. And there were almost no guests in the restaurant so there is NO excuse for not checking on guests. I had to go hunt down everything we needed from the missing breadsticks to to-go containers. The whole experience was atrocious. And I worked in restaurants for over 6 years, so I know what look for when people are just busy or overwhelmed. They weren't. It was just laziness and lack of care for guests. My tip- bring the food out together! Nobody ever wants to be the one person eating alone and finishing before everyone even gets theirs! And nobody wants their main dish without their side! Or their main at the same time as the salad! Or their appetizer at THE END! Or kids food last! Or to not be checked on the entire meal! Or to have NOBODY CARE that they completely screwed up your meal! Any one of the food delivery people could have mentioned to a manager that we were unhappy about all the missing items that were had to keep checking on, but nobody bothered. (Also, I had come in for lunch about a month ago and the weird food delivery issue was the same then. I thought it was a fluke, but now I know it's a pattern) read more

The TRI Tip was wonderful. Awesome BBQ sauce. Mashed potatoes on point. Mac n cheese wonderful. Chopped garden salad with ranch buttermilk dressing, awesome. Amazing bread sticks, so soft and garlicky. The quinoa salad was so tasty. My girls loved the pizza. Pesto pasta was very good too. Save room for desert. The cheesecake and carrot cake are off the hook! Friendly service. Everyone was nice. The concept is very similar to other BBQ joints I've been too, like "Phil's BBQ " in San Diego. Stonefire Grill is by far my favorite restaurant to dine in for quick good food, and great service. I would visit the Thousand Oaks location at any chance I got whenever I was in the area, and so happy it's in Ventura now. The price is right when it comes to the portion size and quality of the food. The only thing I would change about this location is adding an outside patio area. I've eaten here twice in the last couple of weeks and enjoyed it both times. I had the Mediterranean Chicken Bowl - very unique and delicious patties with hummus and a chopped vegetable garnish. Maybe a bit heavy on the garlic, but it was a large serving size. The French dip roast beef sandwich was good but not exceptional. I enjoy the food here much more than the previous occupant, the Macaroni Grill. It's confusing when you walk in as to where to sit and how to order. You actually walk down a little ramp to the cash register and order there. There is sufficient seating and you pick where you want to sit. The food comes out in after an acceptable length of time, but they don't bring it all out together, they just bring you each person's order as it is ready. Staff is friendly. Nice atmosphere. This is probably one of our favorite go-to places for lunch. Today we visited and upon entering we saw several people picking up "to-go" orders. We walked up to the cashier and ordered very quickly. We usually order from the Lunch Specials Menu and havent been disappointed. Both my husband and I ordered the BBQ Beef Sandwich with chips and drinks. Our total came to under $19. We were given cups and a square buzzer. We each grabbed our drinks and found a nice booth. Within minutes the waitress came with our food. The food was great, huge portions and very tasty. The restaurant is a nice, casual environment. The staff are very friendly and helpful, offering to get us anything we need, picking up dirty dishes and having nice conversations. Went there yesterday to escape the heat of Santa Clarita. My wife and I took two of our grandsons to get food and head to the beach. Got a barbeque chop tri-tip salad, three hamburgers and one salmon. For a treat we also go a piece of carrot cake for dessert. I had the burger and was pleasantly surprised. It was excellent and also came with home (Stonefire) made chips. Everyone loved the food. The carrot cake, a perfect finish to a great meal. Definitely will be back. read more

This is my first time eating at one of these locations. Like many casual restaurants, it's very noisy. Greeter at the door. Nice touch. Ordering was like a takeout place, walking straightforward down a ramp once you enter. The order-taker forgot to give me my non-reusable/horrible for the environment plastic cup for the beverage that I ordered. She was gone when I walked back, so I was asked if I ordered a drink when I requested a cup, in spite of my saying to an order taker that the girl forgot to give me the cup for the drink that I ordered. I dined-in, so was given an order tracking device (like when one is waiting for a table elsewhere) and told to seat myself. The food came fast. I had a French Dip sandwich. While the flavor was good, it was pretty small and had quite a lot of chewy fat. The au juis was only half full and I needed to request more. The second cup was full, but ice cold. Those were the only things on the plate, so presentation wasn't good. I felt like some dessert afterward, but I assume that I'd have to leave my table and start the process all over again, so I'll pass. The staff was super attentive. The decor is a little off. They have firewood in these mesh cages above the kitchen. I'm not certain if it's for decor or use, but it isn't equality distributed so it looks odd. I'd eat here again after they work the kinks out. But truly one can get more bang for their buck elsewhere. I think it will be popular as a new place, but that will wear off if they don't step up their game. read more

A little pricey is why I dropped to 4 stars. Food: food was good plenty of it. My family of five got the 1/2 chicken 1/2 tri tip family deal with garlic mashed potatoes and cartwheel and roasted veggies. With hummus as a starter. Carrot cake for dessert. Everything was delicious! Tri tip was tender. Lemon garlic chicken was moist. Salad was huge! Bread tomatoes and cucumbers for hummus was fresh. Huge portions we had leftovers. There was a mix up with our order. We got our roasted veggies first. Which brings me to... Service: we ordered roasted veggies as a side dish and it came out first. Then there was a large gap in time. We grabbed a server to ask questions. They also thought it to be odd. We didn't make a fuss we were just confused. The manager came out on his own accord to make sure everything was alright. Very friendly staff even for being as busy as they were. Great customer service. great food. Just a little pricey. We had GREAT experience at the Thousand Oaks location but I think just no more SFGrill for us. The chicken tortilla soup was so horrible I couldn't eat it, and I think they should take it OFF the menu. The southwest salad was dead and boring, and my husband's pulled pork sandwich looked like it should sell for 0.99 cents. Because of the way the restaurant is set up, there IS NO SERVICE. Good luck once they throw your food at you, they run off so fast and you will never see them again. The flow of the entry is horrible because you order up front but not in the normal flow of a fast food place. The customers are constantly trying to make the staff abide by the rules of regular restaurants. The employees spend their time educating the guests.. Bottom line, corporate needs to make this restaurant like the others and stop trying to be unique. Put your efforts into your food. Sorry SFG. read more

Tonight was our first time at Stonefire Grill. It was a little different way of ordering our food, but Avery greeted us and explained the process. When ready to order Giselle was very friendly and made sure she had our order correctly. We got our food very quickly and enjoyed the chicken and tri tip, and the breadsticks are delicious. Our server Jackson was so polite. No less than 4 times in 40 min, a staff member came to our table to ask if we had what we needed or needed anything. FOUR times with staff! Look, I've been to other Stonefires before (every store but the Santa Clarita one) and this store by far has the best customer service! They are all so helpful and sweet! Tonight after a long day of work and picking my husband of from him traveling clear across the country, we decided to eat and stone fire grill. I have to say they have never disappointed me. They the young man who took our order named Soren, Was more than pleasant very helpful and suggested things. The food as always was great and when we boxed everything of a young lady named Geselle,, Noticed we did not have a bag and house if we would like a bag for a boxes. She was so pleasant and of course being the chatty people we are we engaged in some friendly banter with her what a delightful young girl she was. Then to top it off, The manager in attalia came over and asked as if everything was OK and we ended up chatting with her for a few minutes what a beautiful young woman she is. She is kind and genuine. And totally on top of her game with customer service as well as running her crew. It was my elderly friends 102 birthday, and the majority of our group was looking for a salad for the celebratory lunch. .Finding a good salad at a restaurant is almost impossible. Usually, when ordering a salad one is lucky to get something like 3 strips of carrot, an anemic tomato wedge, and 2 cucumber slices, maybe some croutons. I had been to Stonefire Grill and had a salad previously, and found that their salads were exceptional! I called ahead and spoke to Robbie, the manager to inquire about seating and bringing our own gluten free birthday dessert (since Stonefire Grill does not offer a gluten free dessert). He was friendly, upbeat and told me he would take care of us. (And yes, we could bring our own gf dessert.) When we arrived Robbie greeted us, and directed us to a place by the fire, as requested. I ordered at the register with the kind help of Parker, the cashier, who explained some of the particulars about the salads. He was patient and amiable. As I was ordering, Robbie came over, and before I knew it, had comped us our entire meal, along with an order of guacamole and chips!!!! I have NEVER had that experience in my life! So very generous, and gracious! Wow!! The salads were the best, loaded with lots of goodies. Everyone at the table was happy. I especially like that one can create one's own salad, if desired. I can't say enough; this place is the best! And Robbie is outstanding. He was attentive and as he said, he "took care of us." The food is good. The service is so-so. Nobody came to check on us while we were having dinner. I had to go back up to the counter to order our dessert. After 20 minutes, dessert still hadn't arrived. I finally flagged someone down who delivered it fairly quickly but just slung it down onto our table and said there you go. We came here to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary which I guess they don't do anything for. That's fine. The food is good and prices reasonable. I door dashed Stonefire Grill for my family tonight (9/27/19) and all of our food was amazing, my husbands meal on the other hand came up short. I called and spoke to Robbie the manager and he went above and beyond customer service for us. Not only did he have my husbands meal remade, but he had one of his employees deliver to us because I was home with 3 boys. My husband was still at work so I couldn't leave the boys home alone. Had a great experience. Now they did mess up my salad but the personalized attention I got from the front register was exquisite and made up for it. He helped us pick out our meals and was always trying to make sure we were saving money by ordering certain combos. He let us try beer samples to make sure we picked the beer we liked. We ended up with 805 ale. We ordered the Tri Tip & rib combo with garlic mashed potatoes as our side with a small cobb salad and it was plenty of food for the two of us. Not only did he come by to make sure we liked our meal he helped us pick out but the Manager stopped by as well. Now, I'm not that stoked about ordering before you sit at a place that requires a bit of time to figure out what you want but the customer service really made up for it!!
