My first ever 5 star review and is must say my experience was phenomenon and deserving of ever star received. The atmosphere when entering the place immediately puts you at ease. The location is at a busy mall so there are plenty of patrons walking and hanging outside. The service staff was immaculate and courteous, the foods delicious and presented in a swift and efficient manner. I tried a new seasonal cocktail recommended by our waiter and it was so good. He asked questions so he knew what I liked and made the perfect cocktail choice for me. He was so extra polite to my mom who was basking in his attention. We usually go to the location in Alpharetta, but couldn't get reservations so we decided to try this location. Bad decision! The ambiance is not at all like the other location, very loud and not cozy or high end feeling. It took at least 10-15 minutes to be greeted by our server (no personality). Our drinks were empty for quite some time before being refilled. He never came to check on us after we got our meal. Our food was horrible! Au gratin potatoes were super salty, the mashed potatoes didn't have any caramelized onions or garlic flavor-just dry and salty, the crab cakes were okay, the steaks were VERY rare (blue)! Hello Friends, Coming to Atlanta, I was originally looking to find myself some down home traditional southern cooking. When I came across Stoney River Legendary Steaks nearby my hotel, I was intrigued by its name - Legendary. With the word Legendary in their name, it only peaked my curiosity more. I certainly had high expectations for a place with the name Legendary in its name. A: Entering Stoney River, you are immediately transported into a lodge like atmosphere, complete with dark wood which envelopes you and gives the coziest feel - like you are in Denver, amidst the mountains. Upon entering I was seated at a booth with a most gracious waiter, Brandon. He immediately made me feel right at home, promptly bringing me the glass of water I craved after walking in the Atlanta heat. T: I ordered their house salad with bacon, jack and cheddar cheese, tomatoes and almonds with raspberry vinaigrette dressing (4.99). Their salad was crisp, the bacon-jack-cheddar cheese combination gave it a most delicious flavor that most other salads do not compare. I have become a fan lately of raspberry vinaigrette dressings and this one continues to make me a fan. For my main course, I ordered their house specialty - their coffee-cured fillet mignon complete with my choice of two sides (I opted for their three cheese mac and sauteed green beans) (26.99). Their steaks are all center cut portions and come from premium grain-fed Midwestern beef. Their coffee-cured fillet was a unique experience, as I have never tasted a steak cured in coffee. Their steak's unique seasonings, bring out a flavor that stands out from their competitors. Delicious! Their fillet was just the right size for me. Know though, one can order one of their larger cuts of steak, 14 oz New York Strip or even their 22 oz bone-in ribeye for the most hungry of appetites! I was pleased with their special cure and now challenge other steakhouses to find such a unique combination of taste. Know that I am a "well-done" gal, but they can surely cook your steak to your liking. Their sauteed green beans were ample in portion and their three cheese mac was divine - just enough, as it can be very filling, yet all the while enough cheese to satisfy any cheese lover. Even after this most tasty meal, I was still tempted and sold on one of their most appealing desserts. I selected their Chocolate Fudge Cake. When it arrived at my table, I was truly looking at a masterpiece in desserts. A decadent blondie with chocolate chips, topped with fudge and vanilla ice cream, warmed to just the right temperature - I was truly in dessert heaven. Melted in my mouth. Not sure why it is named Chocolate Fudge Cake, as it seems more a cross of a blondie and chocolate chip cookies (fine by me!). E: Stoney River lives up to its Legendary title. Note they are only available in select cities, but all the more you should seek them out when you are in one of those cities. It will truly be a treat for you like no other. Came here 10/11/17 for lunch around 1110- 1120am, our waiter Aaron was amazing. Very attentive and professional. He had a great personality and a good sense of humor. Our hostess was dressed professional and her accessories were a nice touch to add color to her all black ensemble. My lunch date and I both ordered the double cheeseburger which was amazing. I also ordered the ahi sushi roll and the creme Brule for dessert. Both equally amazing in their own way. Although I don't come as often as I would like (not a restaurant imo for children) but when I do manage to come I always leave satisfied 90%. Today i can honestly say i was 100% satisfied. This has become a staple place to visit for my friend, but was my first time. We went on a Monday so it wasn't crowded. Let's start off by saying the poppyseed rolls are amazing. They taste like a mix of donuts and a butter roll. We ordered the Southern Peach & a glass of Riesling. For dinner we had the New York Strip Steak (medium well) with a Loaded Baked Potato & the Ribeye Steak (medium) with a Loaded Bake Potato. It's literally a beautiful place to have the perfect date night. I just wish what I ordered would've kept the same energy of the environment. Me & my boyfriend order the steak burgers. My boyfriend had no problems with his, but mine was luke warm maybe even slightly cold. Service could've been better as well, seemed like our waiter kept disappearing at the wrong times, and making us wait for simple requests. Would like to try it again, but they didn't wow me the last time I came in either. The warm bread w/ honey butter they serve upon arrival is delish. 3.5 Star I did enjoy the overall experience at Stoney River tonight, if I'd gone in the kitchen and peered over the chef's shoulder instructing him on each finite detail of My Prime Burger, I don't think I could've improved upon the dining experience. My 10 oz Prime Burger was perfectly cooked to My specifications, no improvement could possibly be made upon it. "How moo-ing rare do I mean? How about Tartare?" I joked to the good humored waiter serving My table. The Parmesan fries that accompanied it were only so-so. They were thick cut and lightly seasoned, served upright. I think that did them a disservice seasoning-wise, it all fell to the bottom of the cup. The result was fairly generic steakhouse fries. Before the burger, I had a cup of their Lobster Bisque soup, it was very good. I wish there were a 36 oz serving of it instead! Very tasty. It does boast decently sized chunks of lobster and a scintillating, yet mild, creamy base. Not the best I've ever had. Still, well worth ordering again. The steak cut I sampled from another plate was very well seasoned through and through, absolutely delicious and cooked to order well. The side of sweet potatoes I sampled ranked the same as My own Parmesan fries - mostly mediocre. For dessert, a couple of us decided to share a creme brulee garnished with blueberries and strawberries. Admittedly, we had high expectations for it. After the fruit and sweeter caramelized top portion of it were gone, we were left with something akin to vanilla pudding in cheesecake clothing.It could use improvement here. Once again, reasonably enjoyable fare, but not quite up to par. In summary, come here for a great steak, decent drinks, cozy atmosphere, and pleasant service - but bare in mind that anything else will be totally forgettable. Valet service is available on weekend evenings, it's suggested sense you'll be at odds to find a self-parking spot during that time. Other days are fine. read more

This steakhouse is OK. In my opinion, it's not one of the best in Atlanta. We have MANY other options that are better. The coffee cured steak was okay, the flavor was different in an odd way. I would not order it again. Not nasty but just OK. I also tasted the ribeye and the person that ordered it asked for steak sauce and you know what they say "good steaks don't need sauce" so that's telling in itself. I've been to this restaurant several times with family and friends and I've always enjoyed it until today. We went today when they opened at 12pm. It wasn't busy at all. First issue was when I asked my waitress if she would bring us more bread. She gave me a very nasty look as though she had an issue with me asking. It was a party of 3 and she only brought 4 total, so yes we wanted another order put in, not knowing it would take close to an hour to get our food. Then send sends the bread out by another waiter. She doesn't show back up until our food comes. Our food took at least 45 mins or more which was a very long time being they had just opened and they were not busy. So our food wasn't seasoned well nor was it hot. It was room temperature at most. So I'm eating my fries and notice a long curly hair in my fries. So I stopped a Waitress and she took them back in exchange for a fresh order of fries. Normally I would just send back my entire plate and not eat because I'm discussed. The Manager never came by to check on us and apologized for my fries having a hair in them so when my waitress finally brings my check I requested to speak with management. The manager comes and says he never came by because he was very busy. Keep in mind the place wasn't busy. It was probably 10 customers at the most by this time in the entire restaurant. The manager never offered anything such as a decrease in my bill total, a desert or anything. And I spend at least $150 every time I eat at this restaurant. The Only thing I got was "I'm sorry". With that being said I do not plan on eating at this location again and I only tipped my waitress 10% when I normally tip 20 to 30%. So my advice is do not eat at this restaurant when they first open or when they are close to closing time. So today they are getting 1 star from me. read more

Even though it's a simple salad of iceburg lettuce, bacon, tomatoes and blue cheese, theirs was well done. They didn't skimp out on any of the good stuff. We each got the ribeye. I had the caramelized onion mashed potatoes and my husband got the asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection. Steak just as we ordered, sides delish, and it came out hot! Their drinks are also amazing! Atmosphere - They could work on it a bit. It's a nice dark setting, but seemed too open like a cafeteria to me. If you like a place with good food, but with the entire staff walking around on egg-shells, go to Houston's. If you like a place with the same high-quality food and service, but with a much higher tab, go to Chops or STK Steakhouse.
