Pathetic level of service, over cooked bland food with a very generic unfriendly atmosphere. Took a seat at the lounge rather than the table I reserved due to the long line waiting. 15 minutes before I was addressed by 1 of the 3 persons behind the bar. Water was fine, the "Draper" was not at all a proper Old Fashioned as expected. Had a very strange flavor not accustomed to with that classic cocktail. Specialty "steak & biscuits" was little more than Pillsbury frozen biscuits from a tube and the lowest cut of meat you could offer, over cooked and full of gristle. Not the Filet they describe. Bartender offered me A1 sauce because guests complained the meal was a bit dry. It was sad. Add 2 pounds of over cooked French Fries to mask the inadequacy of the rest of the meal and you get what I was served. No offer of ketchup, that may have helped. I ate about 20% and pushed it off to signal the clueless bar staff that I was done. 10 minutes later, they came and asked if I'd like it boxed up, no thank you. I asked for the check. 20 minutes later, I asked again. All the while, 3 rather a luff bar staff ignored me. Thanks, but no thanks. Stay clear unless you'd like to be disappointed. I was kind and left a $1.50 tip. .50 cents per person who gave no care in my existence as a customer, my meal which was horrible, and again my existence for me paying my bill. These chain restaurants are a shame, I like to support local businesses and this was definitely not that. Absolutely no care in the world for customers. My husband attempted to take me here for a nice birthday dinner. We made a reservation, and we were there 5-10 minutes early. We were told there would be a short wait. No big deal so we sat down in the lobby. We were patiently waiting and the time of our reservation came and then went. A large group of people came in a few minutes after 7 and they were sat before us. I questioned the hostess and the other customer turned around and said " Our reservation was for 7 too" ...okay and? The large party was late. We were on time. There was no excuse to sit them before us, especially when it was now 20 minutes past our reservation time. I left a bad review on google and they copied and pasted a response that said "fill out this form on our website." I did so immediately. It has now been a month and I still haven't had anyone contact me. Horrid customer service. I also plan events in the area and I'm always looking for great places to host dinners and holiday parties. You guys really dropped the ball on this one. If you accept reservations, you make the walk ins wait longer and you put a time limit on the tables as to accommodate said reservations. My sisters and I chose this restaurant for a belated birthday celebration. It was wonderful. The steak rolls as an appetizer were delicious. I ordered the bistro chicken - and it. was. amazing. The breading was perfect, the sauce was just right, there were plenty of capers...there wasn't a thing wrong with it. At the suggestion of my sister, I added the carmelized onion to my mashed potatoes - wow - she was right! Our server wasn't the warmest. I had lunch with a dear friend and her daughter here. The experience has is one that will keep me from returning there. The service and food was lackluster. It took us to inquire about the status of the order to receive it. It arrived at the table cold. Steaks were over cooked. I believe the server possibly was either let go or quit as she was viewed exiting the restaurant with a coat on. My husband and I like to eat out, and do so at least twice a week. Today, we decided to try a restaurant on the other side of town for us, Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill. We were not impressed, and will not be returning. The waiter was pleasant, but when I asked for his opinion on two of the dishes, all he could tell me is: 1) He does not like fish. (My first question was about the Salmon.) & 2) He had never tried the other dish - the Steak Au Poivre. I opted for the special of the evening, which was a Pecan Encrusted Trout, with a rice side dish and the vegetable of the evening, which the waiter told me was 'Like french cut green beans.' The vegetable turned out to be a cauliflower dish. Not beans at all! Thankfully I like cauliflower, so that was okay. The rice, however, tasted like something I can get in the frozen food section of the local supermarket. Pop it in the microwave, then put it on my plate. My plate cost $30. As for the fish, please see the pictures below. It tasted great, but my first bite had 4 or 5 bones in it, including the large one that looks like a wishbone on the bread plate. I found many more bones throughout the meal. I'm not even sure the fish was deboned! Look at the set of bones that were in the center of the fish, in the other picture. WOW! For $30, I expect the chef to know how to remove those bones before cooking!! We complained to the waiter. We did see him tell someone in the back about the bones in the fish. Did a manager even stop by? Did they try to throw in dessert, or comp our food in any way? No. And don't ever order an Arnold Palmer at this restaurant! I just about jumped out of my skin when I tried it here. I swear, the bartender threw a bunch of straight lemon juice into the bottom of a glass, then added unsweetened tea. Talk about pucker power! WOW!!! I managed 2 sips, then sent the drink back, and got a Coke. My husband enjoyed his Meatloaf. But he agrees that it is way overpriced for what we received. Can't recommend this place enough! Every single thing we had, both food and drinks, were absolutely delicious. We dined here on Christmas Eve and couldn't have been more pleased. The service was also exceptional. Our server, Phillip, and one of the managers, Sean, just added to our great experience with their professionalism as well as very pleasant small talk! My wife, kids and some friends went here to celebrate our anniversary. First, the atmosphere and ambiance is AMAZING. We felt relaxed, comfortable and spoiled. The server felt like she was catering to us and management checked on our table a few times (partially because we had been sitting at the table for almost 3hrs ). The food was great. The food is consistently delicious. I shared the Caesar salad with my husband. It was more than enough for two people. My husbands prime rib was very good. I had the Bistro Chicken which is Panko Parmesan crusted with lemon caper sauce, absolutely delicious! The dinners came with your choice of two sides. The whipped garlic mashed were silky smooth. I've had the fish tacos from here which were removed from the menu pre-covid they were hood so it hurts to know they have phased them out! I wanted to like my visit here more, but the food didn't live up to its prices or description. On the positive side we sat at the bar and enjoyed the ambiance. The bartenders and wait staff were professional, friendly and competent. The inside of the restaurant is lovely and you feel like you're at a high end joint. The wine I ordered to go with my steak was delicious. We decided to try the coffee cured filet - w/the au gratin potatoes and ordered a side of creamed spinach. The decor of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. They did an amazing job decorating it. We made reservations and we were seating right away. The food was amazing and fresh. Their bread was unreal. For appetizers we had the spinach dip which was average and we had the steak rolls which were amazing. For dinner we all ordered steaks. They were all cooked the way we wanted them. We got mashed potatoes, asparagus and creamed spinach for sides. They were all tasty and fresh. For dessert we ordered creme brûlée which was unreal and a cookie cake that was okay. Their drinks were all very good as well. Very professional chain type restaurant. Everything is very tasty, everybody's very well trained, food is good, drinks are good, advances good, but put it all together, it just feels too much like a chain restaurant. Location and parking are easy. This place is always busy we can always find parking. No matter what time after work you come here, happy hour bar is always crowded. Drinks are rather expensive and pours are short, but you expect that from a chain restaurant. Only complaint I have is the blue cheese olives taste funky and are always mushy. I have been here for lunch quite a few times. I've never had a bad meal. But again, it feels like the menu was created by a corporate chef in a food lab. But it is quite homey. Good concept, good execution, but I come here only for business lunches and happy hour drinks. Not a place I would bring my family to. My initial review of this place was phenomenal. I had an amazing time, great service, even better food. I have highly recommended this restaurant to many of my friends, some of which have become regulars here. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been disappointing. Usually I order carry out and the bar and they almost always forget something in my order. Now, I make them open it all up there before I leave. I came in yesterday with someone that I had been wanting to try this place. A waitress came by to ask us if we wanted water and after we got our water nobody came. I called out to her and she said someone else was supposed to be our waitress but that she would take over. After this, our orders got messed up. They forgot items, which usually happens here, and they brought out the wrong dressing for my salad. As an app I ordered the steak rolls (of course). They weren't as good as they have been all of the other times. I think it may have been that they hadn't been filled enough. I also ordered my regular salad (Caesar with avocado, blackened salmon, herb vinaigrette, no croutons) and fries. They brought the wrong dressing, as mentioned before. They also initially forgot my fries. When they came out, they came with ketchup when I wanted ranch. The fries weren't as good today. Many of them were soggy. This place used to have my favorite fries, they were crispy and fresh. Today they were horrible. Must have been an off day overall. My partner ordered the Thai chicken salad and he added tomatoes to it. They forgot the tomatoes too. They also never brought out the donut rolls. We had to ask for them towards the end of our meal. My partner enjoyed those the most. The service was horrible. The waitress we were supposed to have told us that she was new, so I understand. It's just inexcusable to have horrible service if the restaurant is not busy. My partner was really upset about this, bad service is one of his biggest pet peeves. Mainly for this reason he prefers J Alexander's. He also wanted béarnaise (he always orders it at J's) sauce for the steak rolls and 10 minutes later they told him that they only offered it for dinner. This is odd considering it is just a sauce. It was really disappointing to bring someone to a restaurant you constantly rave about, only to disappoint them and yourself. Nobody but the new waitress (in training) apologized about the lack of service. The new waitress was really nice so I wish her luck, but on top of that our orders got completely messed up. I can see why the reviews have been plummeting. I don't plan on coming back anytime soon, but when I do I will make sure it's on the weekend. After learning that Stoney River shares ownership with J Alexander's, I couldn't wait to try this place out. I celebrated my birthday dinner here and had an exceptional first time experience. I came here on a Friday evening and when we were seated there was a envelope on the table with Happy Birthday written on it. Such a thoughtful gesture to receive a birthday card! Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently. Not a huge cocktail menu but lots of wine and beer choices. The interior is contemporary with both booths and tables. Very open with high ceiling. The menu is very similar to J Alexander's. I passed on the bread rolls they brought to the table due to a gluten intolerance, but my date said that they tasted really good like donuts. Lol. For my entrée I ordered the sea scallops and they were delicious. Perfectly seared and seasoned. It came with a side of sautéed spinach and tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. So tasty! My date ordered the Ahi Salad and he said it was very good. I only wish that I had room for dessert...because I had my eyes on the carrot cake. I was secretly hoping that they would offer a free dessert for my birthday. Oh Well, i'm not complaining. Everything was exceptional from service, ambience, and food. The experience: I had a flawless dining experience at Stoney River and I very rarely give five star reviews. First off the location and the decor of the restaurant is fantastic. It has an upscale feel that is much different from your traditional "old-school" steakhouse which I found refreshing. The staff were all extremely friendly and we had three to four people tend to us at a time so whatever we needed we received in a timely manner. The food: First off this place has a very impressive wine selection of two pages with some very great names on them. Our server made a great suggestion for a wine I hadn't tried yet for dinner; he knew his stuff. I had the prime rib with their signature one pound baked potato and lobster bisque and it was all fantastic. The lobster bisque had some of the largest pieces of lobster I've ever had in it and the prime rib was cooked perfectly. The baked potato was very interesting; it was huge and came fully loaded. The outside of the potato was covered in a generous amount of course salt which made the skins very tasty. So I waited a year (I think) to try Stoney River. I've heard some mix reviews. So I had to try it out anyway. I have to say it's not bad. I'm not overly excited about Chain restaurants. Super cool looking decor in the inside. Great size bar area. Dinning area is spacious. However, I didn't like how dark it was inside. It was to dark. But other then that I liked what i saw. The food was good! I has the salmon which tasted great! Seasoned every well. Also, tried the steaks scallops, Halibut and the shrimp. Every tasted great! Prices weren't to bad. Very reasonable priced out. Great for dates and small groups. If you are in the Troy area and looking for a nice piece of steak or fish. Stoney River is the place I would suggest! read more

An absolute new favorite of mine! My companion and I came in for dinner just before the evening crowd (became super busy within an hour of our arrival). We were greeted warmly at the hostess stand and seated right away. The decor was stunning yet cozy in a modern twist. One of the better looking restaurants around. We quickly ordered an appetizer that was recommended by the wonderful staff (steak eggrolls) which was pleasantly tasty! Complimentary bread and cinnamon butter was great as well. My date and I both went for the lobster bisque as a starter and steak frites with mashed potatoes for our entrees. Which ALL were excellent considering the price and the 5 star experience! I sincerely hope Troy keeps this gem around since there are only 12 other locations nationwide. Although Big Beaver is the last place in the world that needed another steakhouse, we've been interested in trying this place since we saw it being built. Valentine Day seemed like the perfect occasion to try it out. We are generally not fans of fancy white tablecloth steakhouses, so we were pleased to see the casual atmosphere here. One of the things I had noticed on the Yelp reviews was the outstanding service. We saw that in action as soon as we got there. So good! I was very excited to see the "coming soon " sign for Stoney River. I lived in Nashville for some time and this was one of my favorite treats. I loved the little rolls that look like donut holes and the yummy butter. The young ladies at the Hostess desk greeted us warmly. Big fat positive. We were seated in a spacious window booth. The decor is really nice and contemporary. We started with the steak rolls which I could actually eat every day. THEY ARE SO GOOD! My mom had the shrimp and I got a burger and the au gratin potatoes. Everything was awesome. It was so good that my bf made me come back a week later because he missed the meal. He got the shrimp since my mom raved about it and I got the steak and biscuits. Now..
