I recently placed an order through Uber Eats, which I've done many times before. I've always been extremely satisfied with my order in the past. I always order the head off shrimp, and everytime it comes deveined. This time it did not. I maybe be being picky about this, but I'm not eating the intestinal tract, and since it's been cooked already it isn't easily removable. It was inedible for me. Yes, the restaurant has the right to change what they offer, but they have a responsibility to inform their customers. OK, well clam chowder was really good and needs to be in a smaller bowl, and if you order it you will know why. Second ordered the fish and chips well not good at all, more like fish nuggets and chips. The picture is deceiving cause it looks like a big piece (google pic website) of fish, and it's not served that way. Also the shrimp po boy needs more shrimp in it, not 4 but 6 big shrimp. But the service was really good, but there was only 3 groups there at the time, so don't know how it is when it's busy. Im on my journey to finding the tastiest crab boil sauce with the best bang for my buck. Well I decided to try out this new spot in Henderson. The atmosphere was the typical crab spot vibe (under the sea) with an insane amount of writing on the wall. I ordered my typical Snow crab boil. Great seafood boil spot! I've been to this establishment multiple times and have not been disappointed one bit. Every single time the food is on point. Their $26 lunch combo special is a deal! I always order the MIX ALL THREE sauce and mild spice level for that perfect combination. I thought it would be a good idea to review this place; it's a welcome addition to the restaurants around us. First of all, the look of the place is really cool. They have a very seaside like decor, and it feels like you can relax there. The tables are covered with paper, because there WILL be a mess. And that's okay. They also give you bibs and gloves. The gloves are really thin, and they will probably tear, but they'll save you from the worst of the mess. They also provide wet wipes. First they brought some seafood bread; the very kind hostess (whose name escapes me) said it had garlic, mayo and surimi. The first bite was good, but it got old quickly because it tasted WAY too much like mayonnaise. If you love mayo, that's the bread for you. I honestly couldn't taste any garlic or surimi. I didn't even finish my one slice, and that speaks to the overpowering mayo taste. I normally leave no bread alive. We ordered the combo #5, with king crab, mussels, shrimp, potatoes, eggs and sausage. We chose a butter garlic sauce with no spice. The crab was one leg. It wasn't too hard to open, and it was amazing. The sauce we chose was incredible. The shrimps were FANTASTIC, and we think there was more than a pound of shrimp (we took most of them to go as leftovers). The mussels were good, not great. The potatoes were really good, but since they're served whole, they weren't really imbued of flavor. The sausage was not good. Way too salty. The eggs were alright, but they were overcooked. You know, like when you boil them too much so they get grayish? Like that. Over all, I think it's a good place to get something different. We stopped by last weekend for an impromptu dinner. The atmosphere has been very laid back each time we have stopped by. There is always good music playing. There's some cute little fishies in a tank as you walk in, and the place is decorated with a sea theme. You can write on the walls and the walls inside the booth seating. I always spend a good amount of time looking at what others wrote. The messages are both funny and intersting. Pretty cool to see what others wrote when they sat where I was once upon a time. We started with some oysters on the half-shell and calamari, and ordered Corona and Malbec to wash it down. Yes, they have Malbec, and they are not stingy with the pours! They also bring out a small portion of seafood bread to each table, and more is available for purchase. My husband absolutely loves it! The calamari was good, but it was all rings and I prefer a mixture of the rings and whole pieces I normally see at other restaurants. Still tasty though. The oysters were fresh and delicious. They did arrive on top of plastic wrap covering the ice, which made me wonder if the platter was being reused? The oysters normally sit on the ice itself so that was a bit weird, but also still tasty nonetheless. They are served with horseradish, tobasco sauce and cocktail sauce which all add just the right amount of spice and flavor. For our main course we opted for the "create your own" combo with green mussels and shrimp with the head off. It was my first time trying green mussels as I always go for the black, and I must say I will be going green going forward! They are larger and more plump than the black mussels, and full of flavor. We picked the "Mix All Three sauce" and the most spicy level. The flavor and spice was just right. We finished by sharing a slice of cheesecake which I did not get a photo of because we scarfed it down immediately! I popped in after a quick trip to Nordstrom Rack, even though I have a shellfish allergy, I wanted a Bloody Mary and a salad. Made reservations for three in a booth, the person did not even look and was putting us at a table for six. We lived in Mississippi and know what the food taste like and the way it is cooked. I HAVE to get this off my chest before I forget. What is with the music selection? The place is a crab boil. Allegedly Creole/Cajon,so with that, you would think the music would be Zydeco or Carolina Shag, but NO! It was R&B. That would be okay, but instead of a carefully crafted playlist (at least I hope it was not carefully crafted) that was created to fit the Storming Crab branding, someone just turned on SiriusXM. The R&B was not the issue, the fact that songs with explicit lyrics being played in a restraunt that lists itself as kid friendly is what bothers me. I am not a prude, but "Bump It", "Here We Go" and "I'll Make Love to You" just does not seem to be universally family friendly. My wife and I brought her niece, that was playing in a volleyball tournament and even though she probably hears worse on the court, it still made me cringe. Now that is off my chest, let's get down to the real stuff. The entrance is amazing. It is beautiful. People have taken pictures, just look. It's stunning. They left the "Benvenuto" sign, outside, by the door, which is amusing. You do not expect to see in an Italian greeting at a Creole/Cajon restraunt. The fish nets and nautical lights are a ice touch. The plastic toy crabs, just make it look tacky. The service was great. Our server was attentive. He made us feel welcome and explained how to order. The crab was amazing and THANK GAWD I only ordered 1 crab, because it was plenty. The only thing we did not understand was that when we ordered corn and potato. I thought there would more than just 1 corn and 1 potato. The corn was so soft and sweet. The potato was meh. The crab was fantastic. Probably more garlic than I imagined but I am a huge fan of garlic. The bread was odd. I thought it was a cheese bread. It did not taste like cheese. This place good be great. It should be great. For as much as you spend, customers should demand that it be great. There are soooo many good things about this place, that it really frustrates me that the owners half-assed some things. Took the time to put a projector in the ceiling to project gorgeous images in the entrance, but could not take the time to pull off the Italian greeting from when it was a Macaroni Grill. Create a nautical theme, but went to Party City to put cheap plastic crabs in the nets. Hire a staff with great personality and in a Restraunt clearly with enough visual stimuli to entertain kids, yet fills a playlist with "Parental Advisory" songs. Serves plenty of the best tasting crab I have craved for nearly 2 years, yet put only one half ear of corn and one potato in the bag. It makes you wonder what else they are overlooking? Is it the quality of the food? Is it clean and bright issues? Is it health issues? Sanitation? If I could give this 3.5 star,I would, but I gave the extra half star for the amazing entrance and I hope that management will raise their standards.
