Bajamar is one of my favorite taco restaurants in Vegas. The fresh seafood tacos are so tasty and filling. The surf and turf fries are one of my favorite dishes there. The service is quick and friendly. There are TVs and booths or high top tables for seating. They have non alcoholic drinks as well as beer and margaritas. We've been coming here for years and have visited several of your locations. Until today, we've always had great experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing. The prices have increased to a point that no longer feels justified, even for the basic fish taco. Unfortunately, the fish was undercooked and gummy, and the carne asada taco was just average. The quality simply didn't match the cost. We're happy to pay more for great food, but this felt like poor value. At this point, it's hard to justify returning. That's disappointing because we've genuinely enjoyed your restaurants over the years. Dined here with a friend a couple weeks ago and we were excited, but the tacos and the shrimp/octopus/scallop ceviche tostada we had were underwhelming. The fried fish tacos were greasy and messy, and the shrimp/octopus/scallop ceviche tostada was doused in some dark brown sauce that tasted more like soy sauce. Henderson finally got the spot that made my favorite tacos! The problem is they weren't quite my favorite this time. Bajamar Seafood & Tacos has been my long-time answer to favorite tacos/Mexican spot in Las Vegas. I used to go to their original downtown spot fairly often at lunchtime and have told people that I enjoyed them more than the San Diego seafood tacos I've tried. So of course having them open in downtown Henderson much closer to me was exciting. I don't know why I waited so long, but I had time today to drop in for happy hour. The first bite, the Fish Tostada ($8.00 Happy Hour) really was awesome and maybe even better than I remember from before. The chipotle mayo had a bit of a "screaming O" sauce effect on that pile of raw white fish, and everything tasted vibrant and fresh, including the crispy tortilla, pickled onions, carrots, and avocado slices. The tacos, however, didn't quite land. The Battered Shrimp Taco ($5.50 HH) especially had rubbery shrimp, while the Battered Fish Taco ($5.00) was more tender but still didn't really hit. Maybe there wasn't enough creamy sauce on the latter, or maybe they didn't nail the cook on that either. I'll have to come back to try a taco with grilled shrimp, or a relatively new bite in the octopus chicharron. Speaking of that name though, the Fish Chicharron ($8.50 HH) is also new to me and is a great sharable dish. There are so many little cubes of diced, battered, and fried fish that you might also call it "popcorn" fish. You do have to eat it quickly or else the pieces will soften up though. The spicy aioli really has a kick on this one, which may make it harder for more sensitive palates like mine to take the whole dish down solo. The garnishes on top are also fresh and are a welcome break from the heat. Another item that can help with spiciness is their Horchata ($4.00), which still seems as tasty and not overly sweet as I recall from having it before. I will probably try the lemonade next time instead, so hopefully that's also a great option. Also, the overall pacing of the food was a little too fast of furious. I should have foreseen it coming and asked for them to space it out, but some of the items did cool off while I was working through the table. The music seemed to be a lot of Hawaiian reggae and other relaxed tunes, all in English. There were sports on the TV but muted. The overall lighting situation between lights and natural lighting was great. Bajamar still is a good local spot, but it may have lost a bit of its luster for some reason. I'll still swing by when the seafood taco craving hits since it's much easier to reach here, and hopefully it's perfect from start to finish next time. read more

I took my love here for happy hour and we were pleasantly surprised at the freshness and flavors of all the dishes that we shared. I'm not even a fish fan and enjoyed the ceviche sampler that was slightly discounted during happy hour. We had the ceviche sampler, the fish chicharron and the surf and turf fries. The carne asada was very good on the fries and is making me want to go back to try more of it. I don't know if they just opened but the waitstaff seemed a little discombobulated. I gave it an 8 out of 10 and beautiful gave it a 7.5 out of ten. read more

We loved their Kracken decor. Sandra (server, hostess, busser, etc...think the only thing she didn't do was cook, and she might've done that too) was really busy serving all tables, but she handled it all with grace and a smile. FYI: she said they're also opening a new location in the SW soon. We had never been here before, but my daughter wanted to try something new for her birthday dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with the food! The Fried Spicy Calamari was good (not the best we've had, but certainly not the worst). We thanked Sandra for letting us know about the happy hour specials because the Spicy Shrimp and Spicy Octopus Mini Taco Trios were really good. They weren't actually spicy, but the flavor profile was awesome! The Ceviche Sampler was definitely worth the money, and although everything in the Baja Tour Tostadas tasted great, the best was the Mulege! The Poké Nachos kept us wanting more...yum! We were full and ready to call it a night when Sandra offered dessert. We didn't plan to, but figured we'd try something since everything else was good. We grabbed a cheesecake and the churros. Their desserts are apparently homemade and not bought product, and it really shows in the cheesecake because it was a better balance of flavor vs sugar than you typically find at other restaurants or in the stores (it wasn't too sweet). Ive wanted to try their first location for years and never made it, but I was very excited to see them near my home! Everything is a la carte, and the prices are crazy. One tostada or one taco for $7+. The battered fish taco was awesome, the spicy octopus was decent but I would get the other octopus style instead, the surf and turf was also very good and the carne was a little plain. Best Horchata I have ever had though, from a non-Hispanic girl (lol!) overall, good food and my party all decided we would come back sometime, but again for the prices it's more of a snack than an entire meal. read more

Everything we ordered was full of flavor and super fresh. The Buffalo Shrimp Fries were loaded and messy in the best way...crispy fries, juicy shrimp, and just the right amount of sauce and crunch. For tacos, we had the Lucas Taco, Octopus Chicharron, Spicy Octopus, and Carne Asada. The octopus was cooked perfectly, not chewy at all...and had great texture and seasoning. The chicharron version added a crispy bite that made it even better. We also had a Hibiscus Lemonade that was really refreshing, and ended with the flan, which was smooth and not overly sweet. Definitely a nice finish to the meal. Service was fast and friendly, and the vibe in the restaurant was relaxed with fun wall art and TVs if you want to catch a game. Tried Bajamar today. I love fish tacos and I'm always searching for the best one. Had the Baja fish taco, shrimp taco and ceviche. Flavor of taco's was very good. Fish and shrimp batter was a little bit oily. Not the best I've ever had but worthy of having again for sure. The ceviche was very well presented and was good. We tried the new Henderson location for Baja Mar and it was every bit as amazing as their original downtown Las Vegas store. The Chef's recipes and use of ingredients are totally unique and delightful. We had the Lucas taco, the Marlin taco, the Octopus taco and the fish taco and all were delicious. We went for a second visit. I ordered the ceviche sampler. I asked what kind of fish they used and she said they used tilapia. I was very bothered by this. First, it says Seafood and Tacos. Tilapia is not from the sea and has a bad reputation. I'm sure they do it for costs because it's very cheap but I felt a little bit deceived. My wife ordered the fish tacos. They are also tilapia. She got three and they are $6 each. $18 is pretty high for just tacos with no sides. Also, We ordered regular water and it smelled like a brand new shower curtain. That chemical smell. And the water tasted so chlorinated. Maybe they should invest in a filtration system or something. read more

Stopped by today for lunch, the majority of items on menu have shrimp. We ordered the Gobanardo shrimp tacos, very good flavor. Shrimp tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly, But for $9 a taco, it should have some rice and beans on the plate. Ordered the side of chips and beans $5, beans tasted good, but when they were first served the beans were barely warm, sent them back and they came back out hot and delicious. Only draw back was it only had about 20 chips and was not served any salsa. Atmosphere was nice, staff was very friendly. Overall good food, but they need to work on upping their game on presentation and what you get for the pricing read more

So so good! We come here almost every other week. It's never too busy which makes no sense because it's sooo good! The la Paz taco, Lucas tacos and classic battered fish tacos are amazing! They have happy hour with great options until 6pm. We celebrated our friends birthday last light and they accommodated 2 parties of 9 at the same time flawlessly! Well if you've been to Baja California you know the best fish tacos are in Baja California. Godoy negro durazo anyway. I came last Friday and had taco gobernador and fish taco. I told my server been in Vegas 5 yrs they hands down have the best tacos in all of Vegas, Henderson NV. The breading is like eating at Baja Cali. I had the surf n turf, the Peurto Nueva (I'll have to check the menu to see how close I got) and the spicy shrimp taco. They aren't cheap per taco but they were loaded and amazing. I recently visited Bajamar newest location on Pacific near Water Street in Downtown Henderson. I had never been to this restaurant before, but I heard great things. After trying the food, I can say that they have some of the best seafood tacos I have ever had! However, I very conflicted in my assessment of this establishment, and I hope this review can shed some light on a troubling trend I see in restaurants especially in the Water Street Henderson area. I went in on a random weekday for lunch and I ordered three tacos: Adobada Marlin Taco, Calamari Chicharron tacos and the Puerto Nuevo taco. All of these were good. The adobada taco was one of the best tacos I have ever had. It was smokey and had so much flavor.   My next favorite was the Puerto nuevo taco which had grilled shrimp with rice and beans in the tacos. This taco had an excellent char on the shrimp and all the elements of the taco complimented each other. Lastly, they give you this habanero salsa to put on the taco and this salsa is a must. Even if it this salsa burns your mouth it adds so much depth of flavors. Trust your inevitable date with the toilet will be worth it. DO NOT SKIP THIS SALSA. My biggest problem with this restaurant is their price. At $8.00 a single taco this place is highway robbery. The tacos are a la catre so its $8 EACH with no rice or beans on the sides. There are charging Las Vegas Strip prices for Downtown Henderson.  The lack of awareness this restaurant has for the local neighborhood is wild to me as the average family living within a 1-mile radius cannot afford this place. Additionally, this place is organized as a sit-down restaurant which means after three tacos with tax and tip the bill is around $30 for lunch which is insane.   In my opinion restaurants has a moral obligation to provide a service in which the local neighborhood can afford. Granted you can go during happy hour where the prices are slightly better but still very high for their location. All in all this place taste amazing just be prepared to pay the $25-30 to be full.
