Each one was cooked the way I like it with a little pink and juicy! I love me a good burger and they definitely delivered! The service was always great with refills on the drink. I was very sadly not the biggest fan of Strap Tank. Food was average and not that great. I would not get food again from here. Beer that I had was very good however! I would definitely go back for drinks (although we were told last call was 8:00 PM on a Saturday?) I also don't love that they use cleaning rags as napkins. Would have just preferred paper. Let's get some full disclosure out of the way: I'm not a drinker, so you'll need to go elsewhere for a discussion of the cocktails, beer, and any other libations. They're there, they're a full list, they have their local stuff, and I did sit at the bar and saw a lot of drinks go out. Full disclosure part two, I didn't order food. I had just eaten and was looking for a place to come and hang and chat, and they were open later than any dang thing around. That's the first huge plus--finding a late night hang in Utah County is so rough and this sort of spot is really welcome. Can we talk about decor and ambiance? They really made some choices here. It's an experience in motorcycle memorabilia and beer and americana and it's full throttle. It's over the top, intentionally so (faux exposed brick?), and it's a whole big building with the name in brick and bajillions of seats and balconies on two levels and these guys did not go halfway. It's like staged motorcycle roadhouse meets American Pickers. Not everyone will love it, but no one can deny it's a look. We bellied up to the bar and the only complaint I have is the bar stools. They weigh a metric ton, but some of them don't twist to raise/lower the height and you might be a head taller than your date and that's awkward. Oil, maybe? They have some in-house brewed non-alcoholic beverages, so I went for a ginger beer. It's good stuff. I love all ginger beers and their brew had an afterspice and burn that was just right. We also got some kind of dessert and honestly, even though it was just this week I can't for the life of me remember what it was. There was chocolate. It was fine. Are you really here for the dessert? If you're looking for a late night venue like I am, then maybe venture through that menu a bit more. They're new. It sounds like they've been working on tightening up food service times and issues like that, but hopefully it comes together soon. I sat at the bar and service was really quick. Went here as part of a group for a work lunch, and unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. Even with a reservation, it took a frustratingly long time to get seated. Once seated, things didn't improve--service was exceptionally slow. One of our party members didn't even get their entree until 55 minutes after we were seated and immediately had to ask for a to-go box. As for the food, I ordered the Southwestern Burger medium-well, but it came out rare in the middle. Another person in the group ordered a flat-iron steak medium-rare, and it was cooked medium-well. Disappointing, to say the least. Our server was polite but kept mentioning that they were new, which unfortunately didn't make up for the fact that they seemed overwhelmed and slow to respond. We even caught him standing around after we asked for drink refills, which added to the frustration. The one saving grace? The nachos. They were stunning. If I come back, it will only be with a small party and far away from peak hours. It's clear they are not equipped to handle larger groups or busy lunch/dinner rushes effectively. read more

I tried strap tank again, but this time went for their salmon tacos- yummmm! There's such a variety of food to order I'm sure you're going to be happy with what you choose! The parking lot is a bit hard to get to, but there's plenty of space if it's not a weekend night- it can get full fast! The seating inside was spaced just right. I was able to sit and chat with friends for a while. It was easy to hear and have a good conversation. I did like the tacos more than the fajitas. Went here for the first time with a large group on a busy Saturday night. It was packed. This is one of the only breweries in Utah county, so I'm not surprised their location draws a crowd. Service was good. Our waitress was very personable and helpful. She did an excellent job of taking care of our rowdy group. Food and beer wise, it was a mixed bag. Beer - My husband and I ordered 3 small sample pours each to try out their different offerings. My favorites ended up being the nitro stout (Sgt. Holtz) and the Mexican style lager (Ricardo Negro). The light ales and pilsners we tried weren't quiet as balanced and all had a similar flowery, mango musk to them. Which seemed odd. It was hard to tell the difference between the Italian pilsner, the witbier, and the hazy ale. I ended up ordering a pint of the Mexican lager. The nitro would definitely be excellent with a dessert or in a beer float. Food - The nachos I ordered were really good: flavorful (though I wouldn't say spicy) lots of black beans, cheese sauce, sour cream, etc. My husband and I scarfed the whole thing down. Paired really well with the Mexican lager. The sweet potato fries were also excellent: nice and crispy with plenty of seasoning. But, our entrees left something to be desired. I ordered a ribeye steak, which came with veggies and a baked potato. The steak was cooked to medium-rare like I'd asked. But it didn't have much flavor or marbling. It was kind of "meh". The veggies were under cooked, but well seasoned. The baked potato was dry and didn't come with much sour cream on top. I didn't finish half of what was on my plate. All told, my experience at Strap Tank was fine. If I go back, it will be to eat nachos, have a beer float, and try some more of their dark beers. read more

I heard about Strap Tank through the Yelp channels...Let me tell you why Strap Tank may or may not be the place for you: -Food and drink quality. I have always been a fan of lager, and they have a great selection of light beers here to go with your meals. Feeling like a burger? Then try the Southwest burger--great toppings, sauce blows off the roof, great portion, and excellent with the sweet potato fries (yummmm). However, I cannot really recommend the steak: great portion but mediocre meat quality and preparation; you're better off with standard bar meals (burgers, pizza, nachos, etc.). -Wait time. Peak hours (4:30 pm and after) will have you waiting for about 45 minutes to an hour, so be prepared. Reservations are only available for big parties. But the waiting area is quite nice, just seems like the employees at the front are still working out the logistics of how to handle large parties, small parties, parties with children, etc. (why seat a toddler near the band? I love concerts and live music, but ear damage is real...trust me, I have experience). -Service. My waitress seemed a bit anxious about wait time for food and making sure I was receiving top notch service. Perhaps bad feedback from before? Despite this, I appreciate her efforts to accommodate us 110% and can see that all employees here are giving their best. -General atmosphere/crowd. Strap Tank is going for that rustic brewery feel, and I respect that. They definitely get the job done with an excellent brew house feel, decked out with amazing decorations, perfect lighting, and warm colors. There are families here, there are young people here. There are a lot of motorcycle enthusiasts that complement the "auto" theme of Strap Tank. Upstairs seating is quiet. But be wary of large, obnoxious parties upstairs though who try to "command" the space. If this is the case, simply inform the waitress you and your family need to be seated elsewhere due to noise. -Closing thoughts. I am on the fence about whether I want to return. Given the complication of smoothing out logistical challenges (front desk management, customer management, etc.), there is still a lot to be worked on. But I can see this place being a 4-5 star. However, Looking forward to seeing what management will do to cut down wait times, improve not-so-popular dishes, and better accommodate the needs of varying crowds (young drinkers, families, etc.). Five stars for their chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli and carrots. Fabulous!! Service just wasn't there. I don't feel customers should have to ask to have water glasses refilled or for to-go containers if there's a lot of food left on their plate. Our waitress was clueless. And the setting gave me and my friend headaches because it was SO loud and there were bright lights at noon! We hadn't seen each other for years. This was not a cozy place to talk and relax. Lesson learned. I will try this again when I'm in more of a social mood. Or just do take out. read more

This place is great! The food is delicious, service was excellent and friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed and fun. I do suggest going early to avoid wait, it seemed like a really popular place! Absolutely family friendly place, I had the steak tacos and they were very tasty. The appetizer I had was the fried pickles and they were great; nothing was soggy or overcooked. The food was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. Went on a Wednesday afternoon. Not too busy. Mediocre at best, I think. Nothing stood out. The wait time for our food was more than 30 minutes and when you have kids around it seems like a lifetime. With the wait time being so long, you would think the food would come out hot but all of it was cold. The sauce that came with the kids chicken tenders was way too spicy for kids. My poor nephew had to down a bunch of water because it was too spicy for him. The brisket sandwich wasn't that great. It seemed like there was more bacon than brisket and it was a taste that we weren't expecting. The prime rib dip was decent. The fish & chips were eh. Two pieces of the fish were soggy. My niece only liked the cheese on top of the pizza. I don't think I'll be back. Nothing impressed me. read more

Here is a bit of a unique review for ya... I went here with some friends that are not from the area and wanted to check it out on Friday evening and again on Tuesday for a work lunch so ill cram my thoughts and the thoughts of my parties into this one. You will first notice I rated it 1 star. In summary, the food has just gone down hill every time I visit. Let me break down the visits a bit more Friday dinner 1) I got the tri-tip sandwich, it sounded great but it was super disappointing when it arrived. A single tiny slice of tough meat, almost like a damp slice of beef jerky. The "coleslaw" was huge chunks of cabbage which is a first... I love me some coleslaw but that was not it... sorry. 2) our friends got the Ahi salad, apparently on a nice fresh salad they add bacon which doesn't go at all. Its as if the menu wasn't created by a chef at all... 3) my wife got the wedge salad which was fine. The first thing I can stomach from this establishment in a long time. Tuesday lunch 1) walk in the lobby and immediately get hit with a strong sewage smell. The staff was aware and "getting someone on it" but apparently couldn't get ahold of whomever needed to fix it... it was bad enough that they should have shutdown. Super off putting. 2) I got the wedge salad again and was the only person to eat their food. * The calamari is fishy tasting and the breading it weirdly thick, like a donut * one of our party got fish and chips and the batter wasn't cooked at all... I didnt learn about this until after we left or I would have said something. * one of our party couldn't eat the mashed potatoes because they were too think/heavy * the other three got maybe 50% through and gave up... no one was happy except for me with my wedge salad. My advice for people visiting is to order something that cannot be screwed up. If it has to be cooked, count on it being wrong, if it has to be fried count on it being under done and if it's sea food, count on it being fishy. My advice for the staff... get that kitchen some help. The location down south doesn't have these issues, take a page out of their book and rescue this location please. It would be such a great spot if you could give it the time/attention it needs to thrive and keep customers happy/coming back. read more

Here is the deal. If you like bar style restaurant food this place is a no brainer. Like anywhere new you just need to find what you like. My family of 4 ate here for the first time last week. Some food was ok and some was great. I had the chicken fried chicken and it was just ok. I don't feel it was homemade, if it was I am sorry but it just didn't seem like it to me. I prefer home made as it makes the batter taste more flavorful. My son ordered a pepperoni pizza and assumed that it would be a personal size and it ended up being a normal medium to large size pizza. Since he couldn't eat it all I tried it and really liked it. I would probably order that the next time I go. My daughter and wife each had a burger and said they were pretty good. The real star of the Strap Tank was the decor and service. The decor is kind of car garage meets Steam Punk, which is why there are more pictures of the restaurant than food when looking. The service was great, but it started to get a bit shaky when it got busy. It appears this place is swamped at dinner time and weekends so plan on getting there early. If you are in the area this is a no brainer and is an easy walk if you are staying at the Hyatt Place across the road. read more

My review was on how poor the service was for me. I sat at the bar for a good few before I had to flag a barkeep to ask for a menu. Then after getting my beer, he never returned until I flagged him again so I can ask whether I order thru him or the app on the QR code. The Pub Burger. Good stuff, I can't knock them for that. However, when my cup ran dry, the lady barkeep who was eager to help the gentleman next to me, finally asked if I needed a refill. She took my order, then took a break and walked off. I never got my drink. Yeah. I rarely complain about service, but wow. Also, sitting at a bar next to a "service" dog watching and drooling over every bite you take of your burger, is kinda off putting. Sorry dude, from one vet to another, using the tag of "service" dog to take your pooch into a bar makes us all look like crap. read more

Purity beer. Very light and a bit hoppy. A little of a banana flavor Lehi light - not the best but not the worse light beer. The chips and salsa were okay but the guacamole was outstanding. Rude people. Went there with for a company dinner/ get together. Had nothing but rude service. Instead of simply asking us to make a path near the bar area for waitresses to walk though we got yelled at to move. When one of us simply all the greeters how much longer we have to wait they answered with a rude comment "we TOLD you it will be 45mins". It could've been said more nicely than that. Overall the first time ever going there was not the friendly atmosphere that I was told. Literally had better service at the hotel bar across the street then here. Best burger I've had in a while. Bacon cheeseburger is my go to and should always be a solid choice, right?! It was super good. Thick burger and all the toppings you want. Bacon was smoky and there were four pieces on it. I am a bit confused why it comes dry though but that's easy to take care of. I always want ketchup and mayo at the very least. The ambiance here is awesome and the food is pretty good too. It's a lot of heavier, typical gastropub food but done very well. Have had a burger and French dip sandwich that were solid. Back after 4 years with a big group of friends. Surely things had improved since last time?!?!?! Nope. Service was great. No issues there. But food and price are still very bad. $4.00 for a soda? $17 for a burger? These are room service prices at a fancy hotel. You'll pay a premium for low quality dishes. One example: If you order the chicken strips and fries, one might expect to receive strips made from actual chicken. Nope! It's kid's meal from Burger King style processed nugget filling shaped into longer strips. A lot of food was left wasted at our table because it was either tasteless or tasted bad. read more

Exactly what I was hoping for. The fried pickles were SCRUMPTIOUS. The breading was crisp, not soggy. I ate most of them, and that's usually not the case. The dipping sauce was good. The nachos were just good. I was not a fan of the classic nacho cheese (powder stuff = not real cheese). I would forgo these if you don't like either. By BF is picky about beer, and he was pleased. My husband and I went here on a Saturday and we were seated fairly quickly (within 20 minutes). We ordered way too much food but everything was good. I was hesitant to go because reviews said it was really loud but that was not the case, at least that evening. Our service was fast and friendly, helpful with picking out items, food came quickly. We got the el jefe Margaritas and they were delicious. We got chips and salsa with guacamole and it was really good. (We're picky with chips and salsa) We shared the southwest salad and it was good. I got the southwest burger and while it wasn't as good as I had hoped, it was still a good burger and the fries were yummy. My husband got the roast, which was an interesting choice for him but he said it and the mashed potatoes sounded like some good comfort food, he liked it. All around it was a great experience and we'll be back. Definitely won't order so much food as we were over stuffed. read more

No wait at the bar! Really good drinks + really good food!! We walked right in due to open bar seats. It did take a little while to get served and for our order taken, but you could visibly tell they were so busy - so I'm not mad. (Just for those who wanna try it out, be patient). We also had to ask for silverware more than once, but again, understanding of that. Side note: the pricing was really really good! The appetizer came out pretty quickly and was a different style mozzarella than an east coast kind (not deep fried). I think it tastes better than original mozzarella sticks. The food came out next and my steak was cooked to the perfect request! The mashed potatoes and veggies were also so so good!! Strap tank is a brewery located in the traverse outlet mall area. We came around lunch time and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. The take your name and phone number and text you when your table is available. The tables are spaced for social distancing and the staff is wearing masks and sanitizing between guests. I ordered the fish and chips which is beer battered cod and battered steak fries. It comes with 3 pieces of cod I would imagine 4-5 oz beer battered, a side of tartar sauce and fry sauce which has a BBQ base to it. The cod was hit or miss, I had one piece that was light and flakey and another that was a bit soggy. The fries were okay although I prefer non battered fries. The service was okay the wait to order and the wait for the food to arrive seemed a little long 10 minutes to order and 30 for the food. The waiter did check in is once but we had to flag him down for the check after we were done. Took over 2 hours from the time we checked in to the time we left. Seems a little mediocre overall and I feel like there are better brew pub options. read more

Every experience I've had here has been good. Just that. Not spectacular and not horrible. The food is mediocre though the view is incredible! The service is also average. PROS: Gorgeous views of the valley! Spacious, good for larger groups, Lots of good dessert options, Steaks, sweet potato fries, jalapeño cheese bread, and steak salad are the best items on the menu, Follows COVID safety guidelines. Do you like waiting more than 15 minutes for a table when a restaurant isn't even at half capacity? Do you enjoy waiting an hour and a half for food that is at best mediocre and at worst so unappetizing to look at you are too afraid to taste it? Do you like being in a restaurant where everyone staff member seems miserable to be at their job? Have I got the place for you! If you do get stuck eating here and use the women's restroom, you do get an extra treat of stalls made of picket fence wood with slats that have more gaps between them than even the most awkward US restroom stalls. It's fun to sit on a toilet, turn your head to look for toilet paper, and realize that you have a perfect view of every individual who walks into the restroom, and they have just as great a view of you! read more
