Tonight at 6pm 12/13/2021, I finally went to Straw Hat pizza. It's been probably 20 years since I been to a Straw Hat pizza and now I know why I hadn't returned. I didn't want to chance anything so I ordered he smallest of pizza which is a personal pizza. I first asked the guy if it's very thin crust which he said yes, then I said little to no cheese on top, with toppings of chicken, mushrooms, and bell peppers. The pizza wasn't really thin crust, they put the normal amount of cheese on top, and everything else had absolutely no taste, in fact, I tasted nothing not even the sparse amount of pizza sauce they put on it. I was invited by my daughter, the gym where she works out hosted a Pizza party for all of the members and their families. #sculptfitness. This place #strawhatpizza reminds me of when I was teenager living in NorCal. It was Friday night so it was pretty crowded. The service for it to be so crowded was great. Update as of 7/18/20. Ordered pizza for pickup and they said 15 minutes. Cool no problem. We get there about 20 minutes later, no big deal pizzas aren't ready. We literally watch them put our pizzas in 20 minutes after they were supposed to be ready. Then they BURN them. And didn't remake the rest of the food so it was like soggy cardboard. After inconveniencing us for an hour and burning our pizzas so bad that they had to be remade, I asked for a side of ranch and they charged me. are you kidding me?! Will NOT go back. Don't even know why i gave them another chance. Honestly disappointed. This place is usually good but the other day it wasn't really worth it. We went in on a week night and they were packed (a good sign) but the bummer was it was so hot and stuffy in there and the air didn't seem to be working. There's nothing worse than being hot in a restaurant. We ordered at straw hat but for takeout. Two pizzas and an appetizer combo, nothing special. We waited OVER AN HOUR for our food. Just no. I was fine with the crowd, the expensive food that really doesn't taste good at all but I asked them to put my ice cream cake in the freezer and they put it in the fridge. I was even ok with that mistake but the worker saying it was completely fine (as it was dripping all over the counter) and not apologizing for melting a $30 cake was not right.
