I had The Adam with 1/2 lb each of Pulled Pork and Sliced Brisket. For sides, the Borracho Beans and the Potato Salad. Both meats were very flavorful, moist, and deeply smoked. No sauce needed here. But I did try the mild BBQ sauce and it was delicious. One of my friends tried the pork ribs and shared one with me. Meaty, moist, smokey, peppery, and perfectly done. In a city with lots of BBQ choices, you should definitely give this one a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I know that I'll be back. read more

FANTASTIC food and customer service!! Some of the absolute best bbq in Dallas at a great price. I'm usually not a huge BBQ fanatic but this changed me. We loaded up with the lean brisket, baby back ribs, brisket queso, jalapeño cream corn, bbq baked beans, and deviled egg potato salad. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Highlights were the brisket (we got lean instead of moist and it was still incredibly tender), the Deviled egg potato salad (genius), and the jalapeño cream corn with the fixins'. This place is creative and intentional with their sides and flavors which is rare for a bbq joint (they get their bread slices fresh from a bakery down the road) and the family that runs it made our day with their service. We found an amazing BBQ place today in Dallas. The brisket was cooked perfectly and the sides.... OMG!!!!! That's the best Mac & Cheese I think I've ever tasted. The borracho beans and the deviled egg potato salad were on point!!! Our kids who didn't even want bbq commented on how they finished every last bite on their plate . This place had a unique dessert they created so we gave their Peach Cobbler Churro a try. It was topped with Mexican Vanilla Ice cream !!! Needless to say, we finished it. The food was absolutely delicious and unparalleled to what we've experienced in the local area. We got the brisket sandwich, brisket tacos, and Nachos as our appetizer. Desert we chose the peach cobbler churros and O My Goodness just when you thought it couldn't get any better they brought that out!! Sooo good! All of them had the ingredients to make a next level dish and truly one of a kind recipes. The owners and staff were very attentive to all the tables including our own. We were so excited when Strouderosa finally opened as there are very few sit-down BBQ places in the area. Plus we always love supporting local businesses. We've been 3x and each time the food and service have been fantastic. The restaurant is not large, but they have 8 picnic style tables and a rustic and cozy atmosphere. They are currently BYOB. What we've had - Brisket Nachos - huge portion and the chip to meat ratio is perfect (in other words, they don't skimp out on the meat. Brisket - we like our brisket moist and theirs is cooked perfectly for our liking. I love my brisket covered in a good pepper bark and so my only recommendation is to add more pepper (but the amount of pepper that I like on mine is probably obnoxious and most others might disagree and vote that this brisket is perfectly seasoned). Smoked Turkey - moist, juicy and delicious. We had some leftovers and ate it the next day and it was still moist, juicy and delicious...so 5* rating on this one! Jalapeno-Cheddar Sausage & Hot Links - both were amazing with a nice kick and a snap to the sausage. Ribs - holy moly! You will not find ribs with this much meat on them at any other BBQ joint around here. And they fall off the bone nicely without any dryness whatsoever! 5* rating on these as well. Now let's talk sides. This is where most BBQ joints fail because their sides are mediocre at best. Strouderosa knocks it out of the park with their sides. Mac & Cheese - one of the best we've had at a BBQ joint. Perfectly creamy and the consistency is fantastic. We had leftovers of this also and the cheese never separated, was delicious the next day whether cold or slightly heated. They've hit a home run on this! Creamed Corn w/Jalapenos - perfectly sweet with a nice kick from the jalapenos Green Beans & Bacon - had a great amount of smoke from the bacon Deviled Egg Potato Salad - great consistency and creamy flavor from the deviled eggs. BBQ Borracho Beans - also delicious with a smoky savory flavor. Sliced Bread - I don't know if they make their own bread or if they buy it from somewhere, but whatever they're doing...they need to keep it up. I have never tasted such moist slices of sandwich bread in all my life. I put our leftovers in the refrigerator and thought it would be hard as a rock the next day and it was just as fresh as the day before. This is a great place to check out and the love that goes into everything they serve is apparent. We look forward to becoming regulars here! read more

One of my go-to favorite bbq items is jalapeño cheese sausage, so I've had it at any and every bbq place I've been too (and I'm Texan, so I've had a lot!). The FOOD! Everything is fantastic. I asked my waitress, it says "lean or moist" for the brisket. I told her I wanted both, just not fatty. She said order mixed. I should have known it wouldn't be any good because soon as I walked in, you don't smell smoke or food. They say they smoke then fry the wings. How you cook it twice and it's still under cooked and Overly salty. They gave me the butt end of the brisket. Two small slices burnt and dry. Mac & Cheese was watery had no flavor at all. Great find right around the corner from our house. We went there last Saturday, ate light that day to save room for the meat onslaught. It didn't disappoint. Matt and Trisha are very friendly, hospitable and deliver some great food. I had the turkey and lean brisket and my wife had the pork ribs and moist brisket. The turkey was the best I've had in town. It was moist, perfectly peppered and not too salty with a nice pull. The brisket was peppery with a nice bark and hint of smoke. The lean seemed to have more flavor than the moist, which is strange, but overall still great. Pork ribs were competition style, one bite challenge. But to be honest, the sides were out of this world! We had the Mac and Cheese and borracho beans. Oh my word, best sides I've ever had at a BBQ place. After they told us how they prepared them, it's no surprise why; made with time and a labor of love. You can't rush perfection and there are no shortcuts. My only regret is that they were out of the green beans (and we got there around 5:45pm) and that we left no room for dessert. Great gem and I guess I'm glad to know that there's an awesome BBQ restaurant right around the corner from my house (Lipitor teed up) LOL! Visiting Dallas with family and friends we stopped here for lunch. The service was only surpassed by the food and the service was amazing so that should tell you something about the food. The pit master took the time to chat with us at our table and we all had a good time. I appreciate that the food was not covered with BBQ sauce, everything was just perfectly smoked and the rub, smoke, and meat were joined in heavenly matrimony.
