So glad I tried this place and it won't be the last! The BBQ here is sooo good, much better than other places I've tried in the area. The sides are to die for. What really made the visit special was the atmosphere - the staff were so nice and incredibly helpful who made us feel so welcome. When the hospitality is just as memorable as the food, you have to come back!

I struggled between 3 and 4 stars bc the ribs were so disappointing today. The service was excellent. The moist brisket was just that and tasted great. The sides were all good that we've tried (corn, potatosalad, beans and carrots). Just the ribs didnt fall off the bone and they were dry, tough to chew. I honestly didnt think you could mess them up. I loved the toast that comes with the platter. So buttery, do toasty.

    Such a cool custom decoration.

My first time here. I had the brisket and turkey. Little Joe. Very good. Excellent service with a smile. Nice atmosphere. Cool decorations. Trisha, the owner, super sweet. Good people. Good food. Churro Peach Cobbler. So good. Not too sweet. Just right!

I exclusively by the chilled products here. Dined in and liked the food, been picking up meats here ever since. They have excellent pulled pork. We like to make stuffed poblanos at home with their pulled pork and top it with their queso. Easy to grab and go, they have lots of products vacuum packed already chilled or frozen.

The chicken wings. Everything was good, but the chicken wings were great! They are smoked, and then fried. They also make a threeso, which is a three cheese queso ‍in a very relaxed, inviting, family- friendly environment where you can walk- in and seat yourself. The food was fast and hot and the customer service was accommodating.

We wandered in after the lunch rush on a Thursday, driven by this spot's high praise and its place of honor in my 'Yelp BBQ collection.' A warm greeting set the tone in the nearly empty dining area. Having done my homework, I had my heart set on the dry-rub chicken wings, despite my husband's skepticism. Trust me, I knew they'd win him over. We also grabbed the lunch deal: a sandwich (brisket, naturally), borracho beans, and a creamy jalapeño corn side that intrigued me (cinnamon in the corn, maybe?). The wings--get the HOUSE RUB, seriously--were life-changing. Crispy, sweet, spicy perfection. Hubby had to admit I was right (a rare win I'll cherish). The brisket sandwich was solid, but those sides stole the show. Beans? On point. Corn? Addictive. Of course we needed to finish off our meal with a little dessert, the peach churro cobbler and some divine vanilla ice cream. Owners Matt & Trisha bring passion and pride to their food, and they're happy to chat if you're game. (Pro tip: engage, they've got stories!) The other staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, and even the bathrooms sparkled. We'll definitely be back--those wings alone are worth the trip.

Everything we ordered was tender, moist, incredibly flavorful, and clearly made with a lot of care. It's not cheap--we spent about $77--but after eating it, I will say it was worth the price. The pastrami brisket was the standout for me. Perfectly seasoned, ridiculously tender, and packed with flavor. The burnt end beans were another must-order--smoky, rich, and loaded with pieces of meat. The beef cheek with chimichurri was also incredible; melt-in-your-mouth tender, with the chimichurri adding the perfect freshness to cut through the richness. Honestly, though, there wasn't a bad thing on the tray. Everything was delicious, from the meats to the sides. You can taste the quality and the time that goes into the food. $77 well spent. Cattleack is absolutely worth the stop, and I'd come back just for that pastrami brisket.

I read about the long lines and the lack of parking, but when I visited, it was maybe an hour before they closed, so I was actually able to find parking right outside the front door, and there was no line. There were also plenty of seating inside. When I got there, they were out of certain items, but that was expected since they are in high demand. Since it was just me, I ordered half a pound of brisket and half a pound of ribs along with a side of mac and cheese. To be honest, it did not live up to its hype. The brisket was a little dry, and for how much they charge per pound, I was expecting more meat than fat. The ribs were my favorite, and the mac and cheese was ok too. I got my order to go, and they only gave me a few sandwich bread slices and like 2 small containers of pickles. I think next time IF i go and IF i happen to be in the area i will try to eat inside that way I can get more of the bread/pickles because i love those on my BBQ.

Hey Lockhart Smokehouse!…read more (And I'm curious WHY you are called Lockhart - 'cause I used to live in Austin, TX, and going to Lockhart for BBQ was one of our favorite Friday afternoon excursions...) The vibe in this place is really great. The people are friendly. Downtown Plano is cool. The restaurant and bar area are clean, well-attended, and the food and drink are all good. So why only 3-stars? To be fair, I came here on a weeknight around 6:30pm, which is not the best way to judge a BBQ place. I will try to come back on a Friday at lunch time, and I hope things will be epic. Bottom line, I wasn't blown away by the meats! They were well cooked, but the flavor just didn't impress. The Sause (sorry, I'm a Rudy's loyalist) was tasty, but didn't blow my mind. A nice sweet + smoky flavor that worked better with the Spare Ribs than the Brisket. (Another minot note -- I know a lot of BBQ places eschew Baby Back Ribs for Spare Ribs. Lockhart only does Spare Ribs.) Would I come back? 100% Would I recommend that you go here? 100% I have to say the bartender was terrific, and the pit masters were super friendly, so no dis on the staff. I was just hoping for "oh my god" BBQ and didn't quite get there. Still a great visit.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - I love the Dallas Farmer's Market, and Hurtado is the perfect restaurant to occupy this space. There is a line that steadily moves, nice outdoor and indoor seating, and if you walk towards the back you can see all the smokers. If you visit on a weekend, try to arrive before noon to avoid long lines. 1 Star. Service - You place your order, take a number, and your order is brought out to you. While you don't get to see the staff cut your meat in front of you, they are very fast and efficient. There are also Hurtado staff who will clear plates off your table. Great people here. 1 Star. Food - I came for the Birria tacos. Hurtado uses their smoked brisket, which shredded and paired will all things that make Hurtado special - Mexico flavors (cilantro, onions, and that beefy consommé). I also ordered a two-meat plate with brisket and bacon burnt ends. The brisket is great (and well represented in many Yelp reviews). On this visit, the bacon burnt ends stole the spotlight. A well-seasoned and smoked pork belly cube will melt in your mouth. I washed down my meal with the Tres Leches Banana Pudding and ended an incredible meal. One last very important note, Hurtado is a great value. My two tacos, 2 meat plate, and desert were $50. P.S. I split this meal with my son. I love food but I'm not a glutton. 2 Stars.
