We just landed at DFW and we're looking for a good BBQ place. Found a number of places on Google and decided on Strouderosa. This place did not disappoint. Everything was great: the brisket, the sides and especially the sausage and chicken wings. Their house made BBQ sauce was really good and flavorful- I'll definitely try to get some when they start mail order. We were so full but then noticed the desserts on the board. Loved the peach cobbler churros! The owners came and talked to us for a bit (I think their names were Trish and Matt) and were really friendly and passionate about their food and their business. Our server Justin was really attentive and friendly, as was the other guy that checked on us periodically. Definitely recommend this hidden gem and will come back again soon! read more

We love Strouderosa! The rolls are amazing as are all the sides. But our favorite, by far, is their smoked turkey! I have to overbuy because the kids (and my hubs and I) go through it so fast. This place is amazing!!! All 7 of us enjoyed every single bite. I had the brisket tacos and the deviled egg potato. They were both so good I called my mom and dad after and told them about it! Brisket was tender and moist. All the topping but cheese came on the side which was great so you can build your own. And that deviled egg potato ... I had the pleasure of stumbling upon this place with my family as we were traveling in for the week. Almost immediately I was taken in by awesome scenery and hospitality of the owners. Matt and Trisha were some of the nicest and respectful people I have ever met. Not even a minute after order our drinks, they were quickly brought to the table. After looking the menu over, we decided to order The Hoss, which contained every meat on the menu, 3 sausages of our choice, 3 sides of our choice, and plenty of bread. Brisket, Pulled Pork, Turkey, and half a rack of ribs were the meats given, and let me just say, every single one was excellent. Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, cut perfectly, everything perfect. The sides were excellent, with the green beans being the best I have ever had. The Mac and cheese was to die for and the coleslaw was sooo good. Don't even get me started on the bread! Lastly the desserts we tried were so good. The churro peach cobbler was a pleasant surprise and the banana cream cupcake was also outstanding. The cobbler was so fresh and the cupcake was truly delicious. I've eaten at Strouderosa BBQ twice now. I've had brisket, ribs, deviled egg potato salad, and borracho beans. The brisket was tender and moist. It was the kind of brisket that you could just tell that if you need to take a doggy bag home and refrigerate it, it would still be moist. The ribs were a dry rub, which I prefer because you can just add sauce if you want them wet. And they were perfectly cooked; not falling off the bone too much, but not falling off the bone too little. I was able to take the perfect bite out of each rib. Also, the ribs had a great lightly spiced bark that gave off aromas of swine heaven. The deviled egg potato salad was excellent, and the borracho beans were very good. My only negative, which someone else mentioned is that it would be nice to get a drink in a cup with ice rather than just canned or plastic bottled drinks. But no big deal. read more

I can say they were one of the friendliest staffs I have met which was really cool! I will also say the portion sizing on the sides was very generous. However, I tried the brisket and the ribs, both were somewhat under cooked. This may be because it is a fairly new place and not everything is seasoned and dialed in yet, but I was underwhelmed by the quality. I wish I could've tried the pulled pork to give a more thorough review. I was also disappointed that I had to buy a bottled water instead of complimentary water. Wow. What a gem! A bit hidden but worth the hunt! The BBQ was hearty and delicious. Not to mention the scratch sauces. The side all house made or local and you can tell the difference in quality. My wife's favorite was the Cole slaw paired with the brisket on the local homemade bread topped with all fixens. I had to go with the hearty ribs baked to perfection! We will be back! They checked on us regularly and even stayed around for conversation. You can tell that they live what they do and it's a passion for them. Walked in mid afternoon for a dine in meal by myself and was immediately greeted by the owner, Matt, who circled back later to converse with me for a bit during my meal. More great options on the menu than I could choose from at once, but wound up getting the marbled brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage with macaroni and green beans.
