I was craving a sandwich so ordered "the hot chic" for dinner. It consists of grilled chicken, bacon, onions, lettuce, cheese, on their homemade bread. The bread is amazing and homemade. Unfortunately the chicken seemed frozen and I was unimpressed. The potato salad was too creamy. The cookie was good. I think I just ordered the wrong thing. The homemade bun was simply delicious, so next time I'll get a deli sandwich. read more

Highly recommend!! As a local, I recently discovered Stu's and I wish I did sooner! Located right in Coligny Plaza, Stu's has such an adorable surf theme inside and lovely seating area outdoors. The staff is SO friendly. It's nice and casual, especially for cooling down after a day on the beach. read more

Saw a lot of reviews so we had to try it. Glad we did - subs were fantastic. The Jedi (Italian) and the Lairdo (pastrami and sauerkraut). They close at 5:30 so you better get there before the not so dinner bell. But it's worth it read more

My usual go to sandwich shop was closed to I decided to branch out and try something else. I was far from disappointed when I stumbled upon Stu's. It's a nice little hole in the wall. The staff are awesome. I believe I met the owner as they were remodeling. Extremely friendly and the service was quick. Had the cheesy bread and the Calibogue. Both were outstanding. Subs are 8" which doesn't sound that big compared to most spots but these things are massive and loaded with toppings. 10/10 would come back here. read more

A great sub shop with great service. We were looking for a quick lunch before hitting the road from Hilton Head to Charleston. I liked that this was not only quick, but local. The sub menu offered some really interesting combinations and many of them. All sandwiches can be ordered as a half sandwich too. I love that they offer a lighter portion. They also offer a few salads and sides to go with the subs. Pricing was reasonable for the size and quality of their subs. My husband and I shared the Jedi and the Islander. Both were stuffed with meat and toppings. The bread was large and held up to all of the sub filling. I loved the Italian dressing on the Jedi and the peppercorn mayo on the Islander. The dressings made the sandwiches a bit unique. The employees that helped us were very warm and welcoming. It felt like a laid back southern charm atmosphere. read more

we've been coming to HHI for years & have somehow managed to miss this place. We were in the mood for some deli subs & found Stu's on yelp. They were short-staffed so not doing hot subs - but the cold subs we ordered were great. Fresh, soft bread, high-quality meat. They were very friendly. Cute little sandwich shop in the coligny plaza in the Shipyard plantation area. We ate inside and the decor was totally beach themed including surfboards and dollar bills on the wall. There's plenty of parking in the plaza too, which was a plus. The sandwiches were great and the bread was definitely freshly made. I got the #14 and my husband got the #23. Both were delicious and had a good balance of flavors. The service was prompt and friendly as well. Overall, great experience and we'll be back the next time we're in town! read more

This place was amazing! I had the Lairdo and the Steak Bomber, both sandwiches were delicious. Also their potato salad is incredible, it's got a smokey taste to it. I would consider myself a bit of a sub snob (northeastern subs to be specific) and I can't ever find anything down here that does the job for my turkey sub cravings. Stu's is one of the best subs I have ever had!! We got the Islander and Beach Club - both were fantastic. Coupled with the great service and cute sub shop atmosphere. I cannot recommend enough!! The bread is phenomenal and the ingredients are top notch. Hands down one of my new favorites in HHI that I went two days in a row before heading back to Charlotte. Wish we had more sub shops like this up there! read more

We had been hearing a lot about this so we finally decided to go. I only got half of the yedi (#2) and I requested it to be heated up but it was amazing. It was completely worth the hype. We heard they made their own bread and you can definitely tell when you taste the sandwiches. The half sandwich is a great size but if you are really hungry, go for the full sandwich. EDIT* Went there 3 more times after the incident normally after something like that, I would not, but the subs were that good! The quality of food here is great. The meats they offer are great and the bread is amazing. I prefer meat in sub sandwiches but my girlfriend ordered the #4 which is a veggie sandwich and it was great also. Definitely recommend this spot for a quick lunch. Beware the sandwiches are giant and will fill you up. I would have given this place 5 stars but the sweet tea tasted a little odd. Quick food but limited seating. read more

Great experience! From being greeted by Rachel as soon as we walked in down to the "Zohan" Cuban sandwich special. Sandwich was extremely tasty, and as this tiny shop got busy Rachel continued to stay on top of everyone's needs. If in town, definitely check out Updated July 31st- 6 months later still amazing food and super friendly staff. Place was crowded and did not have to wait very long for our food. I've probably walked by Stu's a million times but never thought about going here since a) Coligny Plaza is usually full of tourist trap restaurants and b) the long line stretching out onto the sidewalk deterred me. On our last trip, we ventured there and patiently waited in the very cramped, very humid cafe. There were two very friendly cashiers/servers who managed to get everyone's orders pretty quickly. Our group of 4 ordered: 2x fat boy, 1x Tore-guy and I got the calibogue. Service was super, super friendly and told us that we could pay after the meal. That surprised me; have they not heard of dine and dash before? LOL We managed to grab a table outside to feast on our sandwiches. I think out of all of them, I really, really enjoyed mine the best. Totally in love with the basil-garlic mayo! It was so yummy and not heavy either. The potato salad is so worth the calories; don't worry, the beach is a few steps away so you can walk/swim it all off. During our meal, the 2 staff came up and checked up on us, refilled drinks and even brought out chips that I had forgotten to order - all the while smiling. I've never been to a place that was so chill and sweet! read more

We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers.
