Also, this is not my first make up artist I've hired so I have done this multiple times all without hiccups. My prior make up artists were in the bay area or LA area. This was the worst experience ever. I submitted a yelp submission back in October for my graduation ceremony on 12/14/23. The contact information has name, email, what type of an event, date of the event, phone number, location address. My email, phone number and location address are all correct. Shana wrote a draft response on 10/27/23 but left it in her drafts. She finally sent me a reply on 10/30/23. I reply same day on 10/30/23 asking for a 10:00 am appointment. Shana replies on 11/01/23 asking if I can do 11:00 am. I respond on 11/01/23 with a yes and ask if anything else is needed. Shana replies on 11/01/23 putting me down for 12/14 @ 11:00 am offering hair services as well. I response on 11/02/23 asking to please book both. I receive no response after. I email on 12/05/23 asking if she received my earlier email and asked for a confirmation of the make up session on 12/14. Shana emails me on 12/07/23 with time and date and finally rate. On the day of my appointment as I am getting ready to go to her studio she emails me on 12/14/23 saying she "assumed" I don't need services. I send three emails and have called but she did not answer. #1 My understanding is that a make up artist goes to the location address inputted. Also, prior make up artists I have hired have done so. But apparently not at this one. #2 If you really wanted to do make up at 11:00 am you would have answered the phone. It would have been better if you just were honest and told your clients you couldn't do their make up. #3 There are technology issues. Hiring an assistant or using a different way to schedule would work. Who knows how many others had issues like this. I find it odd there aren't any real recent reviews as well. The process leading up to our appointment, she was very responsive, attentive, and respectful to any questions I had. The day-of, she was so incredibly wonderful to work with - my wife and I aren't usually big on make up and whatnot but for our wedding we wanted to make sure we looked good, and looked good we did thanks to Angelina! She was so pleasant to chat with and she quickly made us feel comfortable, checking in with us throughout the process to make sure we were happy with the way things were looking. We both left feeling extremely happy with our end looks - and even better was despite touching up my lipstick just a few times throughout the evening, our looks lasted 12+ hours! Lisa followed up with detailed notes after my trial where I could make final adjustments as needed. I booked my engagement shoot the same day, which worked out well. I won't lie, the price did give me a little sticker shock at first. But then I remembered: this is a tattoo... on your face. And when you factor in: 1. The quality and expertise of the artists 2. The high-end products they use and how long it lasts 3. The time, money, and daily frustration it saves you PLUS the fact that it won't smudge or wash off in water... It was a no-brainer. My first appointment went great. The artist really took time to assess my face and skin type, and we decided on the Ombre Brow technique. I've never looked back! But after that, numbing cream is applied and it's honestly not bad. It is more pressure than pain.
