    two quesadillas on a plate

I've seen so much change with this shopping center space over the years. So happy to have a decent Mexican restaurant in this shopping center. I came here with my family and friend. We were doing a quick visit before we came home and my friend recommended we go here for all the veggie options. Yasss to so many veggie items! My burrito was huge and delicious! My favorite is half red and green. My friends quesdilla was on point and my husband liked his chili Verde. Quesdilla plate is kid approved. Definitely would go back. Huge menu! Indoor and outdoor seating.

Really good Mexican food. Admire quality ingredients that make the chips special, and the tortillas contributing to a very satisfying plate!

The food was good. The service was attentive and the ambience is casual. Food it's literally like "at home". The only thing I found odd was the check. Only the "guest check" without the prices.

Disappointing. Very weak coffee!! Decent friendly service. Ordered the corned beef hash, eggs over hard, cottage potatoes, and wheat toast. The corned beef wasn't hash. It was chunky DRY cubes. The potatoes were dice size cubes and tasteless. The toast wasn't buttered and I had to ask for jam as none was on the table. My wife and cousins were equally as unimpressed with their breakfasts. We won't be back.

    Chris's breakfast burrito

I ordered Chris's breakfast burrito which consists of cheese, eggs, guacamole, and zucchini. The burrito really lacked any flavor at all, I used the salsa on the side for chips to help. The guacamole in it tasted like it was the prepackaged type (very watery and dark in color/oxidized), zucchini was soggy, and eggs were basically a very dry omelette cut up (no flavor or seasoning). The salsa was extremely salty and the extra one I asked for (habanero) also very salty. I think with real avocado, some seasoning, and switching the zucchini for something less soggy (bell peppers) could help. This is very far from authentic. Service however was good and the host was friendly.

This place has pretty good tacos but it's not quite to my taste for the price I could probably go to a different location. Service is good.

The house speciality seems to be bowls - but they have tacos and burritos as well. Menu does not do a great job of describing what the bowls are like, but we decided to give those a shot. While we waited we enjoyed the salsa bar. They had a wide assortment of salsas and jalapeños, limes and other goodies. Salsas were fairly good. Bowl itself was like a burrito without a tortilla - just some crispy corn chip strips give it some flavor and texture. Cilantro rice and beans were tasty - but the carne asada was excellent! I like the addition of kernel corn for flavor and texture, although the "avocado" was a drizzle of green goo that wasn't exactly guacamole either. Overall not too bad, but not sure I would return here either.

The counter service was good. We had the street tacos and tried the el pastor, lengua, and birria. The el pastor was greasy, yet dry. The lengua and birria was some of the driest I've had in a long time. Given that the meats were uninteresting, the small sprinkling of onion and tired cilantro didn't save it. The only thing that made them edible were the sauces from the salsa bar. All of them quite good, so that's the silver lining. Oh yes, they serve the tacos with a small side of fried onions that were also very good. My search for Santa Rosa's best taco is still on.

It's a small and casual operation - there's a large seating area behind the restaurant with self serve water. Limited parking out front, and the back lot (with the seating) also has some space for parking, but it's not hard to find parking in the surrounding area. The food here is awesome - deep flavors and genuinely a ton of craft in their work (tamales and tortillas made fresh, you can see them making it through the window by the register). The food is pretty classic, but just executed so well - I really don't think you can go wrong. My personal favorites are the mole enchiladas / tamales (gently sweet, smoky mole, not overly chocolatey and really balanced, especially with a side of pickles) and the fish tacos (GIGANTIC).

I felt it had all the components to be successful. I liked the texture of the batter. It also wasn't plain so that was nice. Good ingredients and flavors for sure. What came up short was the ratio of batter to fish. Way too much batter for the amount of fish. Also it was totally the wrong fish for the batter. Way too soft. I don't know how you eat these in the restaurant but they are a mess. If I'm paying almost twenty bucks for fish tacos. I think I might expect slightly more elegance. Menu did look very interesting. I could see coming back but the fish tacos are a pass
