Tuna foot long with Italian herbs and cheese bread, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, spinach, yellow peppers, mayo!

Tuna foot long with Italian herbs and cheese bread, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, spinach, yellow peppers, mayo! Half of the foot long toasted. I also got 3 raspberry cheesecake which are always bomb! I think it was like $1 per cookie and $2.28 for 3 cookies so of course you have to get 3 haha! I had to keep asking for extra lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers tho.. the server was being stingy with the veggies and put like 2 slices cucumbers 2 tomatoes etc you get the gist. at least she had a good attitude when I asked for more veggies tho!

6 inch Italian bread with salami, pepperoni, lettuce, pickles & onions.

Thought it was awesome! The workers (well at least the guy who helped me) was extremely nice. Loved it, I will definitely come again.

Subway artist Jesse made sure I enjoyed my visit!

I want to thank Henry for reaching out to me after reading about our experience. Nothing says…read morecustomer service like going out of your way to make it right for your customers and Henry did just that. We went back today and the food was delicious. This time my husband got the Granada which was recommended to us by Henry and I got my usual Legendary. Both sandwiches were packed with meat/ chicken and on top of that they both came out hot and ready to devour. The bread was succulent and a good amount of mayo and ketchup was added. All in all this is the experience we had been wanting to have and I'm so glad we went back. Thank you to Henry, again, for going out of his way to make us feel welcomed and well attended. He was happy to have us back and we felt very appreciated as customers. Can't wait to come back and try other sandwiches!

I've been to Monty's twice now. First time was a great experience. I believe the owner was there…read moreand he seemed very passionate about the menu and ingredients they used. However, I went for a second time yesterday and was deeply disappointed. The owner wasn't there and instead a younger girl took my order and prepared the food. Everything seemed well and fine until I got home, opened my patty melt and found not 1 but 2 long hairs in my sandwich! They were clearly her hairs since she was the only one who handled my food. I went back and returned everything. I didn't see a hair in my other sandwich but couldn't even eat it without thinking what could be in each bite. The same girl was there when I returned and a young guy. I spoke with the guy and he gave me a refund right away and apologized. The girl who had made my food was maybe 5 feet away and couldn't even turn around to look at me or apologize. Very disappointing since the owner seemed like a nice guy who probably works extremely hard to build and maintain his business, only to have it ruined by some employee who couldn't even care enough to take 5 sec to put on a hair net. Shame on her.

Having grown up in the Midwest, I used to eat them often, but I have not had a cheesesteak since moving to LA. I decided to give this place a try. There was a small change of plans, with my wife wanting to also try other nearby food trucks. Instead of ordering a philly cheesesteak, I ended up ordering the Big Boy fries, which are fries topped with chili, beef, and pastrami. I realized they had philly cheesesteak fries after I ordered those, and in hindsight I wish I had gotten the philly cheesesteak fries. The Big Boy fries were still amazing though. Essentially, they are a lot like The Hat's pastrami chili cheese fries - chili, pastrami, and then the additional beef you would see in a philly cheese steak. Still pretty good, but did not satisfy my craving for philly cheese steak. I will have to come again to try their sandwich in the future.

If you're looking for a true Los Angeles classic, you have to visit Philippe The Original. This…read moreiconic spot has been serving customers since 1908 and is famous for its legendary French dip sandwiches--and after my visit, I can absolutely see why. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, and wow... it was honestly one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. The meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly piled onto fresh bread. Every bite was worth it! The pastrami was incredible, and now I definitely have to come back and try the famous French dip. Even with how busy it was, the line moved quickly and the staff kept everything running efficiently. Ordering was fast and easy. This place is full of history and charm. I loved the vintage telephone booths, the old-school photo booth, and even the little candy area--it all adds to the nostalgic experience. There are plenty of tables, so despite the crowds, it's easy to find a place to sit and enjoy your meal. Whether you're a local or just visiting L.A., Philippe's is a must-try. Great food, quick service, and a timeless atmosphere make it easy to understand why this place has been a favorite for over a century.

Sometimes you don't need to overthink it. Philippe the Original has been doing things the right way…read morefor generations, and my latest visit reminded me why it remains one of my favorite places in Los Angeles. I stopped in just before the lunch rush--a good strategy, especially on a Dodgers game day--and everything clicked from the moment I walked in. The first thing that caught my eye was Elizabeth carving lamb right off the bone and building my French Dip sandwich in front of me. That's not theater; that's the way they've done it for years, and I loved every minute of it. The lamb dip was outstanding, just as I remembered. Add a crisp pickle, a side of coleslaw, and a Miller Genuine Draft, and you've got a lunch that doesn't need any fancy introductions. The sawdust on the floor may be gone, but the personality certainly isn't. Philippe's still feels like old Los Angeles. People share tables, strike up conversations, and enjoy a meal without anyone rushing them out the door. Then there's something you almost never find downtown anymore--free parking. That's worth mentioning all by itself. Could I explain why I'm giving Philippe's five stars? I suppose I could. But when you have friendly people like Elizabeth, a fresh lamb dip made right in front of you, reasonable prices, free parking, and more than a century of Los Angeles history, what more could you ask for? You may have seen this review, or a version of it, in one of the local publications I write for. I always pay for my own meals, and my opinions are my own.
