I went to this location on my lunch break. I've been eating jersey mikes for years. I order the #13 in a bowl. When I got back to work and opened the container, it was NOT the #13. Being that I was hungry I still tried to eat it but the meat was nasty. Once I got off work I went back, which was huge inconvenience because it was not in the direction of my home. The guy questioned me as if I lied about getting the order there. He said he had been there alll day and did not remember me. I had an incredibly hostile and unacceptable experience at this location. The line employee had an awful attitude from the start, completely ignored basic protocol (didn't ask for my loyalty number or if I wanted it "Mike's Way"), ruined my food with way too much spread, and literally threw my bag across the counter. Neither employee was wearing a name tag.When I asked for the manager, she completely dismissed my concerns. I asked for a refund, which I got, but when I asked for their names to report this to corporate, the manager refused. Even though her name was printed right on my receipt, she lied and claimed "Jersey Mike's policy" forbids giving out names. She then walked to the back and yelled at me to "get the fuck out of there."I work in customer service myself and was completely calm, so the manager weaponizing the word "uncomfortable" to refuse her name felt deeply biased and like racial profiling. Neither of them wore name tags to hide who they were. To prove she was lying about company policy, my friend called up there right after asking if they were hiring, and the staff immediately and freely gave out their names and schedules over the phone.I am completely uncomfortable ever stepping foot back in this store. I've been to this location before and never had an issue. The app doesn't allow you to pick any kind substitute for bread, but they offer different wraps (spinach wrap). I put detailed notes and added a tip, I picked up my order and it wasn't made the way I ordered it, which is ok as long as you fix it. I let them know the order was wrong and they proceeded to argue that the wrap is extra and I need to pick that option, it is not an option on the app. I asked that they make it a wrap, light skinned dude puts a warm tortilla in my bag and sent me on my way. I immediately asked them to remake it, that's when an older (hefty) Hispanic lady started saying that I ordered wrong and was visually upset that I had asked for it to be remade. Honestly the worst staff, DTLA is a busy place, I get it, but tossing me a warm tortilla and expecting me to be ok with that was crazy, good reason why people don't tip anymore before getting the order, crappy service overall. They just finished remodeling here. Looks nice. The smell of bacon was in the air and it smelt tasty. I got a mini turkey provolone with light mikes way for $7.05. Ordered through the phone and was ready immediately when I got there. Everything looked clean and they had placemats for distancing in line but no one else was in there. I don't think it's necessary for more than 2 people to be in there. People could wait outside. The cashier was friendly and the place seemed clean. Yummy and fresh as usual. read more

It was so wet and heavy with mayo that the "tuna" was liquidity, and (literally) I could see the tuna spreading out on its own through sure gravity. Once I took a bite, the bread was wet because of how much liquid and mayo was in the tuna. It was just about ten dollars for the regular sandwich. Mostly felt like it was a huge waste of money. I get that it's a cheap sandwich... ok? But it was not good at-all. The saving grace of the business is that the people working were really awesome. Horrendous customer service. I didn't get acknowledged when I walked into the shop. Went over to the counter, ignored for several minutes the guy doing the meat cutting had hair sticking out of his hat looking really unkept..that should have been red flag #1 but then, slowly asked what I wanted with no professionalism, then he proceeded to slowly cut more meat and didn't even start my sandwich requested, he kept moving extra slow to the point where the other employees began to laugh at his foolishness and rudeness towards me. I have to say I was set afluster this afternoon by what I found when I arrived to pick up my sandwich order at this delicatessen. There was a mean-looking lady behind the counter who was getting very handsy with my sandwich, touching all of its little meats with no humility or regard for etiquette. Even then, I understand this is the 21st century now and people do far worse on a second date. But what I can NOT dismiss is the way her nose was completely exposed by her mask, which dangled loosely from her face as she hunched over my sandwich breathing quite heavily. It hung so loosely that I could even see her exposed mouth--agape and aggressively moist. Now, not only am I woman of considerable age, but my grandson whom I intended to surprise with this sandwich is quite frail. To say we are both "high risk" is an understatement. I am sending a picture I managed to take after she finished getting her jollies with my sandwich. She managed to straighten up her mask at this point (by touching her mask, then touching my sandwich) but her nose is still clearly visible even without my glasses. Considering the times we live in, I do hope she is dealt with promptly and decisively. For now, I'm afraid my grandson will have to deal with the digestive complications of a Jimmy John until this establishment can find an employee with whatever "skills" are required to strap a mask to their face. read more

Hello Yelp! It was love at first bite between myself and Jersey Mike's on Hope street. The sandwich smelled so delicious with creamy white american cheese and an appreciable mass when handheld. I ordered the Jersey Mike's Famous Philly and the hoagie was absolutely delicious. The bread has a slightly crunchy exterior with a soft interior with a good chew; a tiny hint of sweet with a gorgeous bread aroma (that means it is fresh!). The cheese is thick, creamy, not a sauce consistency but had a terrific melt that coated every nook and cranny of the grill top chopped steak. The steak was beautifully seasoned and so tender and moist one could pull it apart with your fingers. The peppers were sweet like fruit but not like sugar, very naturally sweet and the onions carmelized perfectly with restraint to perfection. In general I really appreciate Mike's ode to a traditional philly cheesesteak that is an American classic. There is no fancy confit or lucy style or fusion-confusion going on here. An american classic is classic because it is right, and all the way over here on the West Coast, Jersey Mike's delivers the East Coast's greatest culinary contribution in the sandwich category to perfection. If you are missing the East Coast or have a hankering for a symphonically delicious sandwich, you should definitely order a steak sandwich from Jersey Mike's Subs. The music was relaxed, I was given complete attention and time, people smiled, commented on my order, and this time I was told about point rewards and an upcoming double point day (11/4). I would come here again! Oh, and my sandwich and free Yelp check in cookie were delicious! Previous Review: I would never be able to handle living in New Jersey if my experience at Jersey Mike's is any indicator. I left there feeling so stressed out. The lunch line on a weekday was long. It was super loud. So loud that I had to yell over a glass to be heard and hear someone 2 feet away on the other side. She still misheard me. They expected you to know what to do and order. I had never been there before, but was sent there by a co-worker who recommended it. I was so flustered, words came out wrong when I was ordering and I forgot to request a few things. People in line and the workers expected the line to move quickly and I felt rushed and confused. However, the food looked great... and my Philly cheese steak was really pretty good. Both times I got their Chipotle Cheese Steak. Might not be the most traditional cheese steak, but they sure know how to make a solid sandwich. Always impressed with the quality of the food here. I walked in around 7/8pm today to get a turkey sandwich and while I was in the middle of ordering the shift leader or boss I believe? was disciplining the girl taking my order RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. She kept going on and on about how the girl making my sub was not doing her job correct, while to me she appeared to be doing her job quite nicely. It seemed to me that the one stopping her from doing her job better was the shift lead yelling at her IN FRONT OF ME. After chilling and reheating in the toaster oven, the bread was still crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The meats were perfectly seasoned and generously portioned. Sautéed mushrooms, chopped peppers, and melted cheese - so yummy! Surprisingly delicious especially for 2 days old - can't imagine how amazing it would had tasted if I had eaten it immediately. I have been here 3 x in the past 2 weeks. I only get the Turkey Provolone Reg Sub on Whole Wheat prepared David's Way. (Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Oregano, Spicy Deli Mustard). It's a great sub! Mike says his Turkey has no anti-biotics. It does have a lot of salt. Just one problem: If my office did not give me $2.00 off coupons I would not have even stepped foot in here. Why? Because a Regular Sub (Smaller than a Subway footlong) is a whopping $9.00! I finish that sub in 15 minutes--it's not that big. At $7.00 I can manage it. But even a dollar more...I'm walking. It's not a $9.00 sub by any stretch of the imagination. But I'm still living in 2008 prices because we have not had a single salary raise in 10 years in LA. So we need to drive home value in our dining. Check in on Yelp and get a small cookie. I eat 1/2 a sub, then the cookie, then the second 1/2 of the sub. If you follow my procedure, then you have to pay me a royalty. Employees are OK here. I had an issue on one of my visits where the guy was not even looking at me, did not ask, and then held the oil and vinegar bottle up high over the sandwich and like a bartender trying to look slick trying to hit the shot glass from high up, he squirted it all over my sandwich. I looked at him and said I did not want that at all on my sub--he never asked. Then he takes off the tomatoes from the top to fix it as the oil soaked into the bread. I said it has to be remade. Then he takes off the lettuce and asks if that is OK? I reiterate that it has to be remade--I won't eat it with that oil slick--then he looks at the woman carver and finally remakes it. Somehow he did not understand that once you dump oil on a sandwich--its a total loss if a customer did not ask for that. This restaurant is in Downtown LA Business District. There is no parking.
