    Falafel Platter with Grilled Vegetables
    Aba H.

Still very good, still reasonably priced, easy parking in the back lot. This time I had the Falafel Platter with add-on Grilled Vegetables. If you see my photo, the falafels are bigger than hockey pucks and come with tahini sauce (but I got extra). The falafels are fresh, soft and tasty, not over spiced, and work well with the thick tahini sauce. To their left was a grilled white onion and red pepper. On the right was a large wad of humus with a crater full of chopped red onion and tomato (like bruchetta without the bread), and on the top right was more grilled vegetables including mushrooms. All very good. They put out warm sliced pita bread for the table. There were five of us and we all enjoyed our dishes ... not a single complaint. Courteous service, large round table by the front window looking out on Merrick Road. We didn't order appetizers or desserts, because we knew from previous visits that the entrées were sufficient for dinner.

Stopped by for lunch and a decent meal. They have a lunch special where you get a soup and entree for $20. I had the lentil soup to start and wasn't a big fan of it. The soup was very watery. The salmon kebab for lunch with rice was lovely. Salmon cooked perfectly and rice was light and perfect palate cleanser. The baklava for dessert wasnt crispy and they seem like they might microwave it. Not the best baklava I have had. It was a little expensive for lunch but I will say it was busy for lunchtime.

My husband I took my mon here for a low-key birthday dinner. It's one of her go-to places. Overall pretty good. I ordered the chicken kebab with cherry rice. It was juicy and flavorful. I appreciated the sumac on the table. Complimentary fluffy pita and yogurt sauce. My dish could have came with more veggies but the chicken and cherry rice were both very generous portions. Service was ok. They appreciate reservations and gets pretty crowded. Inside decor is cozy and nice.

This place is legit- it starts with the sumac on your table and really fresh pita with yogurt sauce. Then a really juicy chicken kebab skewer and make sure someone in your party gets the cherry rice- trust us on that. Price is ok for the quality of food. Even on a cold Saturday night, this place was hopping so you might want to make a reservation.

I pass this restaurant all the time and finally went in! Beautiful decor inside. Sat us quickly at a nice table. It was beautiful out this day so they had the big doors open towards the street which was nice. Everything was delicious- salad, main entrees!!! It's a clean meal you feel full but don't feel stuffed which I like. The portion sizes are big, I was able to take home leftovers. I can't wait to go back for another delicious meal and even do takeout!

Restaurant owners are shooting themselves in the foot with nonsense like this.

I was there recently, and for the most part all went well. When I got the check, it was a tremendous turn off. Everyone who gets a check at this place, whether you pay in cash or credit card, is charged the credit card fee. When I told this to the waitress she said she gets a lot of complaints, but the owner refuses to change it. I also thought it was improper that she did not pointed out on the check. Also, on the check they are suggesting I leave a 30% gratuity. So if I don't do that the next time I come back will I be treated poorly? Those two things may not bother you, but they bothered me a great deal, so much so I doubt if I will go back.

When we sat down, we were served pita and tzatziki sauce. It was good! We ordered off of the lunch special. I had the Kubideh Kabab and my friend had the boneless chicken Kabab. The kababs were not dried out and they were very tasty, well seasoned, and not salty! With the lunch special, you get a choice of lentil soup or salad. I went with the soup and I'm glad I did! It really hit the spot since I haven't been feeling very good lately. We shared an appetizer of falafels. To be honest, it was a bit too dry for me. The service was great and our waitress was very nice. She gave us plenty of time to look at the menu and order. The restaurant is quiet overall but there isn't a lot of seating available. There's a shared parking lot but it's crowded. The food was amazing but I don't like looking for parking when I'm hungry. Just kidding. I'll stop by again!

We got an appetizer platter which was fantastic but very pricey, if I'm remembering right it was $36ish and just because of the price I would not order it again. We also ordered the obligatory kebabs and cherry rice. Of course we loved them. For the first time ever we tried some desserts. I just ordered the oddest sounding thing. Falooda. Now I'm dreaming of eating it again! Rose/Lemon ice with little noodles! There was also some tart cherries in juice on the side and a lemon wedge. The waitress was so nice, she had to explain how to eat it. Just dump the cherries on top of the ice & noodles and a squeeze of lemon. It was delicious. Best dinner I've had in a while!

I also appreciated him explaining to my friend that Turkish coffee comes with sugar and not milk and clarifying if she was OK with that before he made the coffee. We were given free firnee. A combo comes with salad, onions/grilled tomatoes, 2-4 skewers if your choice (depending on which one you get) and a whole STEAMER TRAY of delicious rice.
