I happened to be in this shopping center and didn't realize this is where Sugar Mama's was located. I got the banana cream pie, as I'm a huge lover of most banana flavored items. It was good and the scoop was huge. I could have been happy with about half the scoop, but it's well worth the price. I enjoyed my ice cream outside on the lawn chairs. I stopped in yesterday on my way home from work (dessert first people!) after yelp brought this place to my attention earlier in the day. There is a great fresh coconut flavor to the ice cream with shredded coconut and chocolate shavings throughout. I want a spoonful right now of this stuff just from describing it for you. For myself, as an on the spot treat, I ordered a milkshake with their Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream (my personal favorite ice cream flavor). I don't think that was the best pick for a milkshake. The ice cream has a subtle mint flavor and the chocolate is mini chip pieces. The chip pieces would get stuck in the straw and would block the ice cream from coming up. I suggest just getting the Mint Chocolate Chip in scoop form. There was a list of many flavors I'd like to go back and try. I'm so happy to have an actual ice cream place instead of another freakin' frozen yogurt or custard shop. LONG LIVE REAL ICE CREAM! I plan on taking out of town friends here when they come to visit. The mini scoops are the size of a golf ball and full size scoops, the size of a baseball. They allowed us tastes of the different flavors. I went with the banana cream pie and apple pie. I could tastes the whole pieces of spiced apple and could see the pieces of crust in my banana cream pie flavor. That was some good ass ice cream! My wife brought home a pint of Coconut Chocolate Crunch previously and I was impressed. We went to get some ice cream this Sunday evening. I walk in and was immediately drawn in by the blackboard wall, featuring Shark Week. Patrons are encouraged to draw a shark. I digress... they greeted us and let us try all the samples we wanted. I ended up getting two scoops, Caramel praline and white chocolate blueberry. These scoops were rather generous(pic uploaded). My wife also got two scoops, banana something. Their ice creams are supposed to be made will all natural ingredients, I take that to mean there is no artificial flavoring. The lady there was more than happy to explain the process but I had my blinders on, ICE CREAM IN MY MOUTH was the mission at hand. It is genuinely good ice cream but if you are used to sock you in the mouth with flavor this might not be your go-to place. They are more subtle flavors and combinations, kind of like... a sipping wine but in ice cream form. You have to take the time to enjoy the flavor(s), it's not just Kool-Aid man style sugar explosion of flavor! Still, it was very creamy and delicious, what more do you want from ice cream I believe it was about $7 for the four scoops between my wife and I. Delicious! We decided to give this place a try after the amazing Yelp reviews and a Specialious deal. I feel it isn't very often you find a good homemade ice cream place these days. I feel everything is now chains or fro-yo with toppings. There isn't anything better to delicious homemade ice cream! They had lots and lots of flavors. Traditional flavors and then a few not so traditional like Banana Cream Pie which my husband got. My daughter got the mint chip which was a little weak in my opinion, but I got bittersweet (a chocolate with little chocolate shavings in) and the strawberry and they were both amazing!!! I did bittersweet on the recommendation of one of the workers. I don't normally order chocolate because I am super picky about it...but this one was perfect. There are both seats inside and outside...not a ton, so I imagine if it is crowded it is hard to find a spot, but when we went it wasn't very crowded at all. The staff was friendly and helpful and I liked that they made a suggestion when I asked what their favorite was. They did offer a pretzel cone as well...which sounded interesting...but I just got it in a bowl this time. I will have to try the pretzel cone at some point. Staff was friendly and personable. I asked about a recommended or favorite flavor and they directed me to the bittersweet flavor which is a mix of dark and bittersweet chocolate. Highly recommend!
