Got a Build your own omelet plain plus a bread starts at $8.50 ugg! plus $3 bucks each meat, Cheeses a buck each, veggies 0.50 each better. Home Fries 3.00 bucks okay but they're not "Home Fries" just deep fried potato cubes which they should be called. Ugly: So I paid $6 bucks for 2 meats and $1 buck for cheese. I hurt my eyes trying to find $7 bucks worth of meat and cheese on top of the $8.50. I would have been much better off ordering the three as a side and cutting it up myself and just putting it on top of the eggs. Very, Very, Very disappointed. First of all the atmosphere in this restaurant is very loud and geared towards kids. The food was mediocre. I ordered the egg sandwich with sausage on an English muffin. The egg was overcooked. And they grill the English muffin on the flat top. The service was poor. We must've waited 15 to 20 minutes for our food after we ordered. No one came around to offer us additional cups of coffee. I didn't have real half-and-half for my coffee. Only the synthetic stuff in those little plastic cups. My wife had the pancakes and they were very sweet - sugary. Great for kids. We ate at the Blue Ash location; the restaurant appeared clean. The prices were fair but the food was subpar. Literally every thing on the plate, including the frozen potatoes, was overcooked. The pancakes were fine, we had the blueberry. I had to flag the food runner down for a second cup of coffee, after that I just gave up. Service wasn't terrible, but it wasn't attentive either. My husband and I ate here this morning, and I really wish I could be more positive but this has got to be the worse breakfast out we have had in sometime. Our server Kylee was very apologetic and came back to tell us it's almost ready. However when it finally arrived after approximately 1/2 an hour. The scrambled eggs were cold and rubbery. I ordered sausage patties and received links, Kylee returned almost immediately with my sausage patties also cold. she did take 1/2 the total of the bill off. I saw pics of the interior online and figured I'd stop in for a late breakfast before my meeting. There were about 5 other parties when I walked in but the place is spacious inside so I would not consider it as being busy. A basket of rubber ducks were placed on my table with no explanation. I looked online and saw that the founder started doing this for children that came in, but everyone can take a duck home if they choose. I sat for almost 10 minutes with no acknowledgement. Multiple waitresses walked by me without even making eye contact. Finally my waitress came over, she was one of the waitresses that had walked by many times. I placed my order for the salmon platter with peppers and onions added to my hash browns. It took about 10-15 mins for my food to come out. The portion was huge but everything lacked flavor. The salmon patties were over cooked and tasted as if they weren't seasoned at all. The eggs were clearly just scrambled no salt or pepper. The hash browns were ok but I won't be back. read more

Ordered cinnamon Belgian waffle and cup of coffee on Sunday about 12:30. Place was more than half full. Took quite awhile and server did not provide refill on coffee. Waffle was tough, hard to cut and chewy. Server never checked to see if food was ok. Ate about three bites and pushed away. When server returned, she picked up plate with Waffle and left the check. Server came back to collect money and told us to have a nice day. This was the second time I have been to the location. Both times service has been poor. I was so excited to try this place. We checked it out during the weekday so it wasn't too busy. The ambiance was bright and very quintessential diner setting. The ducks were the highlight. However, things went downhill from there. My eggs were over cooked. They hadn't brought out our toast. Our waitress checked in on us shortly after food was served where did let her know. She said it was on its way out but it never did. She didn't check on us again until after we were done eating to see if our food ever arrived. It hadn't nor had she offered us any more coffee! Never been to a diner where they weren't plying you with coffee. No apologies given for not having out missing items. If it was busy, I might be able to overlook but when staff is busy conversing with each other instead of attending to tables, I'm not surprised at the other reviews. read more

A Cincinnati staple! I've been to the original location several times, happy to have a location closer to me. My husband and I went on a Sunday morning and we had a 20 min wait, not bad. One of the benefits of this location, beautiful park area to walk around and explore while you wait. Love the bigger and brighter layout of this location along with the colorful murals. Lots of menu options, classic diner food. I got the breakfast platter, with grits and potatoes. My husband had the Mexican omelette. Everything was delicious. Nice portion sizes for the price. I stopped here on a Saturday to try out the pancakes. The food was pretty good however it took a very long time just to get 2 basic blueberry pancakes out. The pancakes were decent nothing special. I've been wanting to visit the downtown location of Sugar n' Spice for a long time, but the Blue Ash location at Summit Park just opened!! Currently Summit Park location is open Wednesday through Sunday till more kitchen help can be hired. The OTR location staff (temporarily closed for renovation likely for 6 months) are helping with the new Blue Ash/Summit Park location. Business has been in operation since 1941! A signature feature of the restaurant is the rubber ducks that are not only a part of the decoration, but also something that customers can take home (started by the original owner as a gift to kid customers). Chan- our server this morning- was great with that long-experience feel of responding to table needs!! The challah bread french toast had a delicious, sweet flavor. The bacon was perfectly cooked to have the soft crunch. Eggs were cooked masterfully. Hot tea and a taste of the special salsa (spanish sauce) rounded out the flavors of this morning's meal. Food took another half hour with my toast coming out after I was nearly done eating breakfast. All we ordered was an omelette and corned beef hash. We ate. Waiting 25 minutes, still no bill. No refills in drinks, nothing. Flagged down another person who told us we could pay at the front. We are deeply disappointed by the lack of consideration shown by Sugar and Spice diner @ Blueash location.Waiting for 1.5 hours without being seated during such meaningful celebrations for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary and their grand daughter's college graduation celebration from University of Cinncinnatti was truly disheartening. My in-laws traveled from Maryland to Ohio and just wanted a simple brunch celebration. Front desk gave away seats before us, after telling us we were next in line. Had a great brunch at Sugar and Spice with the grandkids at Summit park Blue Ash. It's so nicely located with romp and play with the kids after. Food was delicious as always. We had perfect fried eggs, yummy pancakes and lots of syrup. They have super hash browns too. There are so many choices to eat even lunch with sandwiches and salads if you want. I really enjoyed my experience here, up until the end. The place is so cute, and the service was good, my server was amazing, and i love the ducks. However when we were leaving, we were pratically yelled at by this man, over some ducks ... he could've confronted us in a nicer way, especially since we were only confused... and thought some extra ducks would've been fine since we were a group of three.... but whatever. Was looking forward to trying this place while visiting my friends in the city. Unfortunately, I never ended up getting to try their food. I made a reservation for lunch on Thursday. Upon showing up, there was one group in front of us, but no host/ess in sight. It looked like they'd been standing there for a while. The entire restaurant seemed packed. As we stood in line waiting for someone to start seating groups, the line behind us only got worse. The bartender eventually had to start seating groups. She explained that several employees called off last minute, so I was understanding of their situation. She temporarily sat us at the bar and then went to clean up our table. Once the table was set up, she walked us to our table. That was our last interaction with an employee. We sat at our table for several minutes with no waiter in sight. All the tables around us had been served already, so I'm not sure if we were simply overlooked or if they were that greatly understaffed. We were becoming nervous that we wouldn't even get to put our orders in on time because we all had to get back to work for meetings, and I was becoming less understanding of their situation. Despite being understaffed, they continuously accepted reservations and sat walk-ins. They gave no indication of how long it would take for us to see a waiter and get our orders in. After having waited over 30 minutes in the restaurant, we had to leave and go somewhere else to eat. I'm disappointed I never got a chance to try their food because I've heard great things about it. I may update my review if I get to try their food before I leave, but we'll definitely be opting to get takeout instead of dining in. read more

We are fans of the Original Sugar n' Spice on Reading. Although we live in Blue Ash, today we finally went into the Sugar n' Spice there for the first time. Saturday morning about 7:30am so almost no crowd. Very spacious and walls decorated vintage late 50's early 60's to honor the home location. Excellent 50's-60's music to set the mood. Breakfast was great and little wait and we got our customary rubber ducky before we left. We recommend. read more
