I am never mad about pizza. I had been to the location in New Glarus before, but on a summer 2021 visit to see a friend she suggested we order pizza from the newer Verona location. I agreed whole-heartedly and empty-stomach-ly! We got carry out to take home and get gluttonous in peace. We ordered a larger size pizza to share, as well as some cheesey garlic bread to share because....well, why not? Since we did carry out, I can't comment on the service or the location. But our food was ready when we arrived, it was hot and fresh and remained so on the quick drive back to her home. Their specialty pizzas are tasty with some really interesting options. I liked my pizza from here so much that now, as I write this, a few months later and hundreds of miles away....my mouth is watering and I am wishing I could order from them for lunch today! The price for my daughter and me was a shock at $36. And the nerve to ask for a tip. Chicken was good, but the sides were a disappointment. Soggy corn and green beans, soggy mashed potatoes, uninspiring salad bar, one soup offered in a paper cup. Long wait to remove soiled plates. Place seemed staffed by zombies. Not one smiling face. The first time I had Sugar River Pizza, we ordered delivery to our hotel that is right next door. The second time we ate at the restaurant. There are so many delicious options that it is really hard to choose. This time, we sampled the Mac & Cheese pizza and it was out of this world. Loaded with creamy Mac and cheese, this pizza is one of my all time favorites. I will definitely order it again. We even added pepperoni to half to make my husband happy. Crispy texture was spot on and well seasoned. They also gave good recommendations and were very friendly. The food coming was on the slower side, however. You distribute plates, water, utensils on your own. We also needed to ask to have the fire turned on - Reserving a large table required a phone call but was super easy and linked back to Open Table afterwards. ATMOSPHERE: We were able to eat outside and it was great company paired with a nice day out. The slight negative was the fire table which was beautiful and great for the cooler weather after the sun set (a must, really) but pizza is one of the more common dishes here and sharing it was more difficult since we could not place them in the middle (where the fire was). Firstly, the food is always good here. That's not the issue. This time, the issue was the service and handling an incorrect pick up order. I'm currently sick, and my wife was bringing me a pizza after her lunch date. She was getting an Asian Chicken pizza with no onion. I'm extremely allergic to onion. She brings the pizza home for me and goes back to work. I open the box....onions. I call to let them know the news. The only thing they do is remake the pizza. I had to get my sick butt in the car and drive from Oregon to Verona to get this pizza and then drive back home. So I could enjoy my meal without getting super sick. I just feel like compensation should be a given in this situation. I don't like confrontation, so I never bring it up (except passive-aggressively on Yelp...I know, sorry). In addition to booze and pizza (which I will definitely order on our next visit), the menu features pub faves and regional specialties, with many items locally sourced. There are no burgers, brats, or seafood on the regular menu. Grilled sandwiches are served on a choice of 5 breads and include a choice of garden salad, soup, or waffle fries. For $1.49 you can upgrade to any of their fancier salads. I ordered the steak sandwich and upgraded to a Caesar salad. My sandwich contained a thinnish steak that did not fill the bread. SRPC has it all. I got the amazon deluxe - your basic pepperoni and sausage pizza (thing crust) and the Asian chicken (hand tossed crust). The latter was based on another friend's recommendation. I was seated at the bar and was greeted immediately by a young bearded guy. Asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio and he got right on it. They were busy, but they were hustling. Before I get to the food I do want to recognize that the staff is very courteous and Nice to each other. Enough that it stood out as this is not what I typically find in places. Moving onto the food. The menu looks great. There are a few different things on there that I would definitely come back and try. My pizza was amazing. It had the right amount of toppings and the sauce was awesome. I happen to be sitting at the bar and next to me was a couple who ordered a single salad (and more) that they were able to split in the two, so the portion sizes are ample. I definitely will come back to this place, if I'm ever in town wether for Epic training or not. At one point it even crossed my mind wondering if they are franchising. I like to address people by their name. So, I did find it a little odd that the guy's name on my receipt said "PM Server". Check it out. Sure it's pizza, but there's more to this place than that. Went here on a Saturday night after going to Wisconsin Brewing Company for some music. First time here, but the food was great! Three of us ordered the summer addition pizza which is the spring chicken. I want sure if I was going to like it because of the avocado ranch sauce (I'm normally not a fan of creamy sauces on pizza), however I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't have an overly creamy or too much of a ranch taste. The pizza is well balanced with a little bit of a kick and I would definitely order it again. One of my other friends ordered the pear & gorgonzola ravioli. She was very excited about the dish and it didn't disappoint. A highlight of the night was that since it was derby day, there were mint juleps and you got to keep the glass. They were very refreshing drinks to go along with our pizza. After the meal, my friend asked the waitress if she could rinse out our glasses so we could take them with. We went to Sugar River Pizza tonight for the first time. I would definitely recommend people to try this place out. They seem to take a lot of pride in making their dishes from scratch and the results are in how amazing everything tasted. Our white cheese cheese curds and home ranch and chive dipping sauce was made with homemade sour cream- delicious. We created our own pizza and the crust was perfect, the sauce super flavorful and they didn't skimp on the toppings. When we had a soda that didn't taste right, the investigated and found a problem with their machine and didn't charge us when we changed the drink. our mah jongg group of fun retired ladies always enjoys playing and having lunch out on the patio on nice days. The staff are very nice about us jsing a table for 4 hours. Yesterday we had exchanged comments with a young couple adjacent to us when they asked us to take a picture of them. Food was excellent and I really appreciated the care of the delivery driver. We ordered wings in siracha mayo, cheese bread with beer cheese sauce, and a Mediterranean pizza with grilled chicken. I love their siracha mayo wings, but wish they were maybe a little more spicy. I think the spice level is great for most people so not dinning them any points for it. The cheese bread is a carb lover's dream. I could do without the beer cheese sauce as I didn't care for it but oh the cheese bread...you should get the cheese bread. The pizza as always was really good. I also really liked the fact that they put the pizza a parchment paper. This makes it easier and possible to recycle the pizza box. Not sure if they were thinking about that aspect when they did it, but it makes a difference to me. In addition to the great food, the delivery driver was great. He made the effort to call to confirm which house was ours instead of just winging it. Going to attempt to be unbiased here, because we have gone so many times that we know most of the staff. I have never had a meal that was even mediocre there, and the supply of beers is always fresh and has something interesting that I've never tried. Of course there are days where there's a wait for a table or it takes time for service, but there the staff is attentive even when behind, and there are many people in the area who are regulars both at the bar and the restaurant area. Details matter here, from how they pour drinks out of the taps (don't touch the beer!) to sanitation, something that was extremely evident during the pandemic. If you haven't been, try it out. I can't wait to see what Sarah and her crew have planned for the new restaurant a few blocks away. read more

I was visiting Verona for work and kept hearing good things about Sugar River Pizza so I decided to stop by and give them a try. I sat at the bar and my server Jake was personable and attentive. I started off with an order of the WI cheese curds $8.10 (if you check in on Yelp you get 10% off an appetizer!). With this dish I got some dipping sauces - ranch and their creamy garlic (extra sauce .75¢). Both are house made and excellent! The ranch one was lighter like sour cream and you could really taste the dill while the garlic one was thicker with sting your tastebuds potency. Everyone told me that I needed to try the Spotted Cow beer since it's local to WI and luckily SRP had it, but I'm glad I asked for a sample because I think this beer is overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's decent, but I could do without. It was also a long hot day so water was my preferred refresher. SRP is know for their pizza obviously, but I went with their build your own pasta for $10. I got the spinach stuffed tortellini with basil pesto and with the bartender's suggestion I added the local sausage to it. Cute Jake let me down. I enjoyed the pasta but picked out the sausage. For $2.50 more I was able to add on a side salad which was a nice accompaniment to the pasta. All of this was a ton of food for me but thankfully I had a fridge in my hotel room and SRP is great at sending you home with paper plates and utensils. If I am ever in Verona again I will stop back at SRP for good service and to try their pizza! read more

No one greeted us. My boyfriend approached the counter and said "Hi, there's two of us..." to which the young male snorted back, "She can help you." while pointing to a different employee. Okay, yikes, rough start. Anyway, she told us it would be about 10 minutes. Fast forward maybe 5 minutes. Someone else comes in, states they have a party of 2, and she says, "Oh there are two spots at the bar! Head on back!" Why was that option not given to us? The Verona location of Sugar River Pizza is immensely popular and for good reason. The well-crafted food is generously portioned at reasonable prices. The menu has an excellent selection of appetizers, pizza, grilled sandwiches, pastas and salads. There also is a kid's menu, helping to make this a family-friendly setting. The venue is clean and well-maintained. There are two different dining areas which helps keep the noise level somewhat manageable. The full bar also offers seating and has several flat screens with sports programming. There is password protected Wi-Fi, ask your server for the password. The engaging servers are fantastic - you can tell they genuinely enjoy working there. When I dropped in for a weekday lunch, the meal pace was excellent. Reservations can be made through OpenTable. The lunch menu is a tremendous value. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and a generously portion cup of tomato bisque for only $7.99. The pastrami had a pleasing smokiness and the sandwich was expertly grilled. The thick texture of the bisque made is a wonderful dipping sauce for my sandwich. read more
