Very different sushi experience! As I Mentioned in the video it's modern day to go sushi. You can see them making the sushi and updating the rolls in real time so it's not pre packed like alot of to go sushi spots. They've been packed for awhile so glad I was able to come in and check them. Customer service was great as well, she asked us if we know how to use the tube (even though it's on the tube and easy to follow) she still showed us how to use it!

If I could rate this ten stars I would. Such a fun fun concept and it is executed so well! I will warn you, they will sell out. Your best bet is to plan to get there either when they open, or check and see what time they post they may re-open after their morning product sells out. We got there about 5-10 minutes before their second opening in the day and were in and out pretty quickly even with a line. I got the Spicy Tuna roll: super good, super filling, and worth the price you pay. It may seem expensive but those are well sized pieces and every push pop comes with ten. They all come with soy sauce which you can pour/ drizzle into the container. I need more places like this around the country! There is very minimal seating indoors so plan to be in and out very fast.

We came for the hype a while back and took our visiting friends-- it's a fun concept, but the sushi is not mind blowing. Wish we tried the salmon roll, but we all got spicy tuna-- the owner was friendly and greeted us in line! Hope to try it again when the line is a smidge shorter! Cheers!

Fresh, filling and fun to eat.

Thought I'd have to wait in a long line, especially with how busy the city was with the NBA Championship, but to my surprise I was able to walk right in. Wish I had taken note of the lady behind the counter, she was super inviting and very enthusiastic to explain anything on the menu. She offered everyone that came in a tutorial on how to eat and not drop the pop. Menu is minimal but it was evident they know what the most desired combinations are bc I wanted to order every roll. There is not really seating inside as it's a tiny place, so we stepped out to have fun eating ours outside. The rolls are quite large. One was definitely enough to fuel back up for walking the city. Fun & Friendly!

Pretty mediocre experience at Suka Sushi, similar to other reviewers. The odor inside is pretty intense, something between a strong fishy smell and sewer smell. The rolls are very expensive for what you get, and the only compelling factor is the unique presentation. The unagi roll was okay, the unagi was decently tasty, but I did not like the added cream cheese. It's an okay one and done for me.

My son, his best friend and I all agreed this was literally the best sushi we have ever tasted. Worth the trip into Manhattan from Long Island and in a lovely area in Flatiron District / NOMAD. There is even a little patio nearby that's part of Baruch college (I think) where there are tables and benches so you can sit and eat. Or walk a few blocks to Madison Square Park. But before you go - you need to know what you are in for. I read the 1 and 2 star reviews and I felt so bad!! You need to know: the wait is LONG. The rolls are expensive. They are giant and worth it. Plus the push pop idea is something you can't find anywhere else. The restaurant took off on TikTok and I don't think the owners ever expected what NYers will do for amazing sushi. They are overwhelmed and still deliver with a smile. They smartly close mid day to catch up on orders. They close at 2:30 pm (maybe a little sooner) to catch up on orders and open again at 4:30 for dinner. Line up at 3:30 if you want dinner!!! Like anything else in NYC lately it's a bit of an ordeal but that's part of the experience. So here was our experience on this mild December Saturday. We drove to queens and took the subway to Lexington Ave. (it's cheaper than LIRR for 3 adult fares). Walked a few blocks to the sushi place and the line was not very long but inside was packed. It's tiny with counter seating to wait. We arrived around 1 pm I think. Well they stopped taking orders two people after ours! Talk about timing! It wasn't even 2:30. Get there at like 11 am for lunch if you don't want to take chances. They said it would be an hour and a half wait and they took my number. We were hungry so we dipped into wing spot and shared 6 wings and fries between the 3 of us to tied us over. We made some friends in Wing Stop and chatted a bit and then wandered flatiron. Saw the tree in Madison Square park. Went back (maybe an hour passed) and they said we were next and it would be ready soon. The staff is SO NICE! It breaks their heart to turn people away but they just cannot keep up. They are looking to expand! I had the shrimp with cream cheese roll and my son and his friend had California rolls. We all tried both though! You could tell how fresh they were - delicious. The Roe was the perfect crunchy complement to the crab and shrimp. And the cream cheese in my roll was not overpowering. It was ideal. They don't have a giant selection but it's definitely worth planning ahead to enjoy Suka Sushi at least once! It seems crazy but people wait for broadway shows, bagels, even to get into FAO Schwartz. As long as the staff continues maintaining their friendly disposition I think Suka sushi can continue to do well!!! I suspect other restaurants in the area are also doing well for people who decide it's not worth the wait or are turned away.

Visiting New York for the first time and we HAD to try Suka Sushi, especially from all the posts we came across on Instagram. Once we walked in, the smell was HORRIBLE! I can't even describe the stench. I wanted to leave but my daughters were excited and still wanted to try. It's very small inside, which is fine. There are a few bar stools for you to sit and eat. The rolls are premade and kept in a case. Service was terrible, no welcome in, no how are you, and no recommendations. We ordered the California Roll & Spicy Tuna. Both were just okay, but what made us not finish our rolls was the fact that the rolls were warm! We took one bite each and threw the rest away. Overall it's a great idea, but there's no need to go here.

Creative concept of sushi "push pops." When I went around midday they were out of several items, and the only options to immediately order were the California roll and the vegetable roll. California roll was great but vegetable roll left a lot to be desired

While visiting New York, I knew I had to stop by Suka Sushi after seeing all the hype on TikTok and Instagram, and as a sushi lover, it definitely lived up to expectations. I ordered the Philadelphia Roll and the Unagi Roll, and both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The quality of the fish and the balance of flavors really stood out, making each bite enjoyable. What made the experience even more memorable was their unique packaging and presentation. It added a fun, modern twist to the whole experience and made it feel different from your typical sushi spot. Overall, the sushi absolutely did not disappoint, and I can see why it's been getting so much attention online. If you're in NYC and love sushi, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

An interesting concept to sushi; push pop and to-go. The marketing they received was a bless and curse because it's so popular people be waiting around the block. I got lucky, waiting about 30 minutes before getting inside: but waited about 30 minutes to receive my order. The downside that I overheard from other customers was the policy of one roll per person. The store itself is very small; wonderful friendly workers though! I see potential in this establishment, perhaps having better flow in orders/time wait. I ordered the California it was so good. For the price verses size I feel like it's worth it. Remember, you're paying for the experience too. I'll be back to try more flavors

Well, this is a million dollar idea if Suka Sushi can upscale rapidly. When we visited, they had only been open for three weeks but wow were they slammed after Instagram and Tik Tok reviews hit them. The sushi is actually really good and the push pop holder is genius. I'm hoping the best for them... because as fun as it is to see people process an hour wait for one of the rolls; ultimately, I want to see this business be successful. The staff is super sweet about the delay and we saw them all work hard to accommodate folks trying to grab a bite on their lunch break. So kudos on maintaining customer service and bravo to this team for such a brilliant concept!

Delicious sushi!! The place was really small but it was fine and cute. It was really easy to eat and I really enjoyed.

We walked into a stylish, energetic space with a menu designed around sharing, making it a good option for a casual dinner or group meal. The interior has a contemporary, lively feel with an open kitchen that adds energy to the room, and the seating is arranged to accommodate both small groups and larger parties comfortably. Instead of sticking strictly to traditional Japanese dishes, the menu mixes familiar flavors with more modern presentations, creating a dining experience that feels both approachable and exploratory. The standout item is the katsu, which is where the restaurant really shines. We ordered the pork loin and tenderloin versions and found the breading crisp while the meat stayed tender and juicy, the crust holding up well without becoming greasy. The mazemen is another highlight, with chewy noodles and a rich sauce that brought a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy, the sauce coating each strand evenly and the toppings adding layers of texture and depth. Beyond those, dishes like the butter scallops, corn ribs, and seafood options added variety and made it worth ordering multiple plates to share. The scallops were well seared with a buttery finish, and the corn ribs offered a smoky, slightly charred flavor that paired well with the richer dishes. The desserts are also a memorable part of the meal. The corn ice cream is one of the more unique items, with a sweet and savory flavor that sounds unusual but works surprisingly well, the sweetness of the corn balanced by a subtle savory note that kept it from feeling cloying. It fits the restaurant's overall approach of taking familiar ingredients and presenting them in a more unexpected way, and the creativity of the dessert menu feels consistent with the rest of the meal. Service and atmosphere add to the experience, with attentive staff and a lively dining room that feels suited for groups. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, and the open kitchen added a layer of engagement as we watched the dishes come together. Reservations can be difficult to get, especially during busy times, and the small plate format means the best experience comes from ordering several dishes rather than focusing on one entree. The variety across the menu encourages sharing, and the pacing of the meal works well for a longer, more social dinner. konban delivers a well-executed modern Japanese dining experience. While some of the more hyped dishes may not completely live up to expectations, the katsu, noodles, and seafood dishes make it a worthwhile visit. The combination of creativity, quality ingredients, and a lively atmosphere makes it a destination for exploring different flavors and dishes together rather than just ordering one signature item, offering a meal that feels both engaging and satisfying.

The pork was so tender. the ebi tempura were huge, and the mazemen was thankfully not spicy. However, the scallops could've been more tender and we we were all unimpressed with the ube tiramisu. The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting.
