The lounge area at Sukai is absolutely amazing. The food options are amazing if you're big on sushi and the drinks are all top notch! Oh and we can't forget the amazing view! But, I really want to highlight the reason I go back. The bartender YOSIE is always the highlight! She is super sweet, fun and easy to talk to. She makes great recommendations for drinks and her genuine smile just makes you glad you came. I always hope that when I visit she is there. We did a sit down in the main dining which was alongside the teppanyaki tables, very limited sit down tables. Service was great and food wasn't too bad, however, a bit overpriced for some items. I was disappointed in the lobster roll. Given the price, I expected a much bigger roll and as my husband said, it just tasted like shrimp tempura. As for the calamari, it was good and love the sauce it came with but the portion size was small. There's a bed of shredded cabbage halfway through the bowl so you don't even get a full bowl for the amount you pay. Second time here celebrated my MIL's birthday had reservations party of 4.5. 1st time was Yelp Elite Badge Day. Was greeted and sat down at the Teppenyaki table, seats were so comfortable. Our server took our drinks/ apps order immediately. Surprised to see it wasn't busy. I had ordered the chicken entree. Comes with soup, salad, fried rice and mochi ice cream. I had heard a lot about the new Teppanyaki restaurant in Table Mountain Casino. I invited a few friends to enjoy a dinner at sunset. The restaurant has incredible views if you're there in the evening. You must make reservations as the place feels up fast. I was able to make my reservation early enough to catch the sunset. I enjoy it here but I wish they would step it up on the wait time from when the reservation is made to when we actually get seated. I always feel like they are 45-to 1 hr behind behind the time reserved . Also not sure why they took the lamb chops off the menu but that was mainly why I came. Seafood quality as far as lobster they should use Maine lobster which is more tender and less rubbery than their current selection. Our teppanyaki chef Kevin was very entertaining and took care of us. We had a great show, dinner, and good time. When we arrived for our 5pm Friday reservation in the main dining room, it almost felt like staff were barely getting ready to work, so it was quite unsettling. With Sukai being the only restaurant located on the 12th floor at TMC and boasting spectacular views, we had expected the décor to be a little bit more elegant or at least inspired by Japanese culture, but were disappointed to find it rather generic and lacking in authenticity. There was almost no oomph factor, and with most of the interior looking dark gray/black, as well as the uniform of the wait staff looking so stiff/uncomfortable, it created a sense of disconnect from the overall dining experience. There were no condiments or even utensils placed on the tables, giving an appeal that the table was not fully ready/dressed for arriving diners. When it came to the staff, our waitress was attentive and friendly, but seemed disinterested in providing recommendations or engaging in conversation. She did not seem excited about her job or the restaurant, which affected the overall dining experience. As for the food, the sushi/nigiri were excellent (we had the Sushi Sashimi Deluxe special and the Pacifica Roll), the Katsu Chicken Bento we ordered was great, and we enjoyed the Fried Calamari appetizer, however, the Gochujang Garlic Shrimp appetizer was a big letdown due to the texture of the shrimp (despite being deep fried before being tossed in sauce) being soggy and the taste of both shrimp and sauce was missing a depth of flavor/umami. It was just very spicy overall, and I had a hard time wanting to finish it (and I'm a huge shrimp fan). The better part of this experience was meeting who we assumed was the manager (tall Asian gentleman who dressed a little more differently than the rest of the wait staff), who came to greet us at our table (but did not introduce himself with his job title) when he walked around saying hi to the 5pm crowd in the restaurant. When we shared with him that it was our birthdays and we were there to celebrate, he later provided us with cheesecake slices at the end of our dinner. That was a very thoughtful gesture and added a personal touch to our dining experience. We definitely appreciated that he took the initiative to make our celebration more special. All in all, we thought the food portions were good, the staff were efficient, and the cost of entrees/appetizers were reasonable, especially for a casino restaurant. We will consider visiting again in the future, and hope to see improvements made to the overall ambience and staff engagement to create a more memorable dining experience. read more

We had a reservation for a party of 9 at 10:00pm on a Saturday night. Our whole party arrived early and we were seated over an hour after our reservation time. No one gave us an update on expectation of time for our table until someone in our party complained. The restaurant is spacious and they have a decent patio/bar area for waiting. Our chef interacted with us a little bit, but didn't really put on a show. The food was average. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here just for teppanyaki. read more

The manager went above and beyond to accommodate the Yelp elites and all I saw was smiles and animated conversations everywhere. The sushi here is not bad at all...it's just the quality doesn't match the pricing. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it being in a casino. Would I eat here if I was in the casino and enjoy it if there wasn't a wait list? Absolutely. Would I drive out of my way to eat here? Absolutely not. Sad to say, but our experience was a complete letdown. We had reservations at 8, but got seated at 9:45 and started dinner around 10pm. I had high hopes for this new restaurant, but they were extremely understaffed. We went in Nov '23, so hopefully staffing issues aren't a problem any longer! The waiting room had a mini bar and outdoor seating overlooking friant. As for food, everyone liked all of our sushi rolls! Teppanyaki servings were generous and food was yummy! I will say however, most of our party said they would've preferred Sakura Chaya. Overall, this place was a miss. Then they asked me if anyone has allergies I do to eggs they tell me my food will be cooked in the back food was trash after looking at the plates that were made on the teppanyaki grill my wife's plate was bigger than mines I'll never come back here 57$ for that everyone had bigger portions than that and my food came out before the guy started cooking everything else who wants to sit and eat while watching him cook for the whole table including my wife it was horrible experience I would not recommend this place never read more
