This is definitely an upgrade to Benihana which unfortunately in the last decade or so isn't that big of a flex. The food was decent. The waitress was kind and very accommodating. Our tapanyaki chef was basic. They do certainly have brilliant chefs there that are excellent performers but don't assume you will get one of those. The energy of the table is also important for a more festive experience. Our chef and table both were lacking in this way. That being said, I did see people palm tipping a person at the front so as strict as they attempt to be with their timing of tables and turning them around due to the nature of the business, they are not immune to gratuity. So if you are planning your event there, lead with that - offer tips to get you the best table, the best cook etc. I would go again if invited but my expectations are now set at a lower bar. I also would not deter anyone from enjoying it as an alternative to the other dining options at TM. read more

We have been here several times and we always have such a fun experience. We were surprised by the remodeled lounge. A very elegant and modern bar. The bar menu lights up when you open it and the bar tops have built in phone chargers. Not to mention, the holiday drink menu was a lot of fun. Ordered our food to-go as it was a long wait and definitely busy.. we stayed at the hotel overnight so we weren't bent up about it. It was more convenient anyways to just eat in at the room.. we ordered their Philly-- added avocado and requested it deep fried-- it was the best of the two sushi orders (can't remember the other).. we also had the Katsu bento box-- the katsu surprisingly didn't have a sauce on the side, but it was nicely crisped, upgraded to the bacon fried rice which didn't taste fresh like it was sitting awhile, but it wasn't terrible either, would prolly give it another try next time.. the salad didn't come w any dressing but at least that tasted freshly cut.. the gyoza was good, but they missed our California rolls that came w the bento order, so my husband had to walk back up for that.. also the to-go didn't have any soy sauces for the sushi so had to remind them as well.. again, it was busy given the occasion, but perhaps it'll help to have someone double check these items for better service.. overall, a 6/10.. read more

So this was a very confusing place to eat. We reserved a table as needed to, then when we go up to the 12th floor we are left in an empty entrance with no host no one around. The host then finally comes up and tells us to go wait in the lobby area and she just points straight to a door. We get to the "lobby area" where no one greeted us, no one said anything, we were beyond confused on what we were doing there. My husband goes to the two bartenders behind the bar and says he has a question, only for one of the ladies who is training another lady tells him just a moment. Finally we get someone to tell us what we are doing, which is waiting for a waitress to get us 15 min after our reservation time. Once we are seated we order right away the food was okay not great. The drinks tasted like no alcohol was in them and the edamame was so plain. Most likely won't go again. read more

We had a bit of a rough start tonight. We had reservations in the dining room , and were asked to wait in the lounge. After 15 minutes we complained because this happened the last time we dined here. We had reservations and were not seated until 30 minutes later. Once we were seated Shelby was our server, for the evening. Shelby was efficient and provided exemplary service. The bento boxes were delicious and Shelby made sure she took care of everything! Thanks so much Shelby!! You saved the night and of course the food was great too!! read more

I'm going to give this place a 3 star review. All of the food was delicious! I loved everything I ate, except the dressing on their salad. I loved their soup, such a great flavor. I had the Chicken and NY Strip steak- it was so good! The manager, his name was Isaac he was absolutely amazing. Everywhere you looked He was there working and helping, he's definitely a hands-on deck manager. But the thing is he had to be that type of manager, because they were short staffed. so our waitress comes to our table, she takes her order, and the table across from us was seated after us the table across from us receive their water, their soup and salad before we even got in our water, and our order was taken first. So we knew we were going to be in for a long night. She never came to check on us, the manager is the one who brought us water, small plates for our appetizers. They add the gratuity in, so it's unfortunate- she got tipped really well and did nothing. We had Chef Johnny, he was cool, did some tricks- not alot of talking though. The views here are amazing! I love going to the casino, it's my moms birthday so she wanted teppanyaki. We originally decided on a spot in Fresno but figured we would try the teppanyaki here since we wanted to gamble. I called and they had available reservations for 930 pm. (They close at 10) the party we were with had a few people in the restroom when the waiter came by. I heard the man say his party was in the rr if they can have a couple minutes to which the waiter then said "we are close to closing" LOL why the fuck would you have reservations 30 mins to closing and RUSH people... that got me so irritated and I instantly didn't like the waiter. I wish I got her name because she was NOT FRIENDLY. it was our first time here and she made it that much worse (Hispanic female) Because I don't like long reviews I'll try to sum this up. The cook was okay, he didn't ask if anyone wanted more spicy teriyaki so I had to embarrassingly ask for more lol he didn't ask if we were there to celebrate a special occasion either, we asked the waiter for soda and she forgot it, the vibes were just not it... we were literally one of the two tables that were open how do you forget a soda when your not even busy.The fans suck (or don't I should say) the smoke from the food was all in my face you can see the smoke in the video. The salad sucks (usually the dressing is addicting) the soup was too garlicky. If you order shrimp for dinner it only comes with 2 shrimp (other teppanyaki places even offer two shrimp with dinner even if u didn't order it so i was shocked that when you order it only comes with two) I get they were closing they really should make the last reservation at 830 if they want to bitch. The food 7/10 Service 3/10 cook 8/10 At the bottom of my review you can see a customer service rep tried to make them look good but commenting and asked me to send them an email or phone number. We had a reservation time at 7:30 PM. We had to wait an extra 45 minutes after that just to be seated and waited for another party for about 20 more minutes. Horrible customer service and on top of that the cook served the food very undercooked, cross contaminated the chicken and rice with the same spatula. This place is a joke. I highly do not recommend. We did a sit down in the main dining which was alongside the teppanyaki tables, very limited sit down tables. Service was great and food wasn't too bad, however, a bit overpriced for some items. I was disappointed in the lobster roll. Given the price, I expected a much bigger roll and as my husband said, it just tasted like shrimp tempura. As for the calamari, it was good and love the sauce it came with but the portion size was small. There's a bed of shredded cabbage halfway through the bowl so you don't even get a full bowl for the amount you pay. Most people go for the teppanyaki so that may be a better experience than a sit down dining. read more

A very clean modern aesthetic awaits you at Sukai. The bar offer beautiful views of the surrounding hills, as does the restaurant itself. Our party of 12 had one of the private tables. Our meal started with a salad with Asian sesame dressing and a light beef broth with a bit of mushroom, rather than miso soup. The teppanyaki menu offers a variety of proteins: chicken, salmon, shrimp, scallops, sea bass, filet and Wagyu @ $35 per ounce, 4 ounce minimum ($140!!!). I went with the seafood combo which was still a bit pricey, but a bargain in comparison to the wagyu. Our chef was pleasant and made nice conversation as he served our tasty meals which were completed with bacon fried rice,zucchini, mushrooms & onion and mochi ice cream for dessert. Had a 7pm reservation for Wednesday night, didn't get sat until about 7:15 but the waiting area has a great view and a bar. The hibachi table is really spacious unlike other places in town. I ordered the filet and scallop combo ($60). Something to note--the hot and spicy sauce is free!! The food was no better or worse than any teppanyaki restaurant down the hill, but the view adds a great touch! Table Mountain is doing some "facelifts" right now so parking and other areas of the casino have some detours. read more

(2nd visit, updated review) After leaving the review about a mediocre experience, the manager reached out to me privately and asked if I can share my experience with her. The gesture alone was unexpected. I shared a few points with her, including the food portion and taste. She said she will discuss with their team regarding my suggestions. A couple weeks later, the manager reached out to me again and invited me to dine again. Honestly, I was a little skeptical and didn't believe that they would make any changes according to what I shared. I am just a nobody. Fast forward, we were back today (after 3 months). Not only did the portion was bigger, the taste was better as well. It wasn't salty like last time. We ordered Sukai Trio, which includes New York strip, chicken, and shrimp. The chicken was very tender. I even checked to see if it was undercooked lol. Nope, it was well done. The steak was medium rare, my preference. I especially liked the shrimp; it was citric. The overall experience was improved a lot. I also secretly paid attention on the neighboring table about their portion and ingredient ratio and they were identically the same. (Because in my head there is a possibility that I could receive special offer... told you I was skeptical). I was happy with the food today. Granted, the price was a little higher than many Teppanyaki places, but with today's food quality, portion and taste, the service, and the view, it is a nice restaurant for celebrating special occasions. read more

I enjoy it here but I wish they would step it up on the wait time from when the reservation is made to when we actually get seated. I always feel like they are 45-to 1 hr behind behind the time reserved . Also not sure why they took the lamb chops off the menu but that was mainly why I came. Seafood quality as far as lobster they should use Maine lobster which is more tender and less rubbery than their current selection. Loved the rooftop bar such a beautiful view especially during sunset. read more

We had a reservation for a party of 9 at 10:00pm on a Saturday night. Our whole party arrived early and we were seated over an hour after our reservation time. No one gave us an update on expectation of time for our table until someone in our party complained. The restaurant is spacious and they have a decent patio/bar area for waiting. Our chef interacted with us a little bit, but didn't really put on a show. The food was average. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to come here just for teppanyaki. read more

Second time here celebrated my MIL's birthday had reservations party of 4.5. 1st time was Yelp Elite Badge Day. Was greeted and sat down at the Teppenyaki table, seats were so comfortable. Our server took our drinks/ apps order immediately. Surprised to see it wasn't busy. I had ordered the chicken entree. Comes with soup, salad, fried rice and mochi ice cream. Bryan was our chef he did an amazing job. Food was delicious just like the first time I tried this place. Chicken was cooked perfectly and not dry. The fried rice was phenomenal.
