Came here to celebrate a friends birthday!!! I was surprisingly the first to arrive of the party of 8 and was told to let them know everybody was here. I went to sit on the side to wait and it was disappointed to hear them offer the 2 guests after me (who were there early for their reservation) a seat at the bar for drinks........I hate for such beginnings to put a sour taste in my mouth but it did. I tried not to let it annoy me but hearing her then continue to offer it to everyone irritated me even more. When the birthday guest showed up, I asked her if she wanted to go to the bar while we wait. Sooo glad we did the bartenders were great! Because it was my friends birthday they added a special surprise to her drink which included a Smokey look. I will say you have to close your tab out at the bar before being seated; they do not transfer it to the table. No big deal but considering when the host came to get us, he took off before we could even let the bar tender know what was going on and so it ended up being an "issue". Luckily, and I say luckily very loosely, one of the guests was waiting for her drink so she closed the tab out. Our waitress was fabulous!!!! You could tell she was new but she had tasted quite a few options on the menu so she was able to give us some pointers. I ordered a French onion soup to start and beef Wellington bites. My friend ordered some oysters, she said they were great. The soup was ok nothing memorable but the Wellington bites I highly recommend!!! They also heat up fabulous the next day. For my main course I ordered the bone in ribeye steak. It was cooked well, I also added blue cheese on top which is scrumptious if you've never done it before you should definitely try it. The steak was nice and tender but I can't say I would go out of my way to order it again. My friend ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and she was disappointed in the amount there was. I will say they did look tiny and didn't seem to be very many of them. She said they were decent though but wished there had been more. All in all the place is ok, they wouldn't be my first choice for a steakhouse but you can definitely find some decent items off the menu. read more

We held a 50th anniversary party in a private room and the entire evening was perfect. The wait staff was excellent and everyone had drinks quickly and when we wanted more time together they gave us plenty of fun time. First time back to Sullivan's Steakhouse in many years. Took my wife for our 32nd anniversary. Had a reservation and we were seated in a nice booth. It was nice and what I expected...except for the automated light that they had flickering in the booth. It was so annoying that the table next to us asked to have it changed/fixed before I could. (they did change the setting to constant on). We ordered a bottle of wine and our waitress (Emma) told us she was battling other waiters for an ice bucket...how does that happen? I guess our cheap bottle of white didn't warrant any ice . Emma offered bread before our salads but we had to ask for it before she actually brought it. We both ordered fillets medium well. Mine came out fine and was good. My wife's steak was very medium rare...she sent it back...came out again and server said it still looked medium rare on inside but seared on the outside...sent it back again...came back well done. She ate half of it. They apologized and discounted the steak, as they should have. Scalloped potatoes were great. Our service was sub-par for a perceived high-end restaurant. Struggled with the steaks. Atmosphere was good but the table light...the table light was ridiculous. Best part of our experience was that we had $200 in gift cards, which took the sting out of the experience and the bill...but still tipped $50 even though it wasn't deserved. Will we try it again? I hadn't been to Sullivan's in years. I remember that it used to be my favorite steak house. They had the best filet. Well a lot has changed. They have a very different menu. They had a prixe fixed menu option for the holidays. I opted for that since it had what I wanted anyway. The drink (French 75) was good. The filet was actually cooked perfectly. The potatoes were a little cold. My partner ordered the ny strip which looked just like the filet. This was a bit odd. I never seen a strip look like a filet. The sauce that came with the strip was good to me. The banana bread pudding wasn't good but it came with the meal so whatever. The cheesecake was just ok. Oh the beef wellington bites were well done which I wasn't expecting. They were tasty but not what was expected. The service got a little better over time but in the beginning it took a while before she came to us and to get our drinks. It was a bit busy so I guess. Overall very lackluster experience for almost $200. I will stick to other steak houses. They have the scan to pay on the bill which is nice so didn't have to wait for our card etc. read more

Second bad experience at Sullivan's means we likely won't be back. 30 minutes waited for drinks. Sides were served AFTER main course. Pathetic apology by management. Service was terrible, you can tell they have cut back on service support. But if we are in there spending that kind of money, we shouldn't have to ask for water, refills, nor sit with dirty plates in front of us for an extended amount of time. Salmon was tasteless. When you order a steak, the server should stay there until you have cut into it to make sure it is the proper temperature you asked for. Honestly, the server had the personality of a doormat. Just a very poor experience all around, so for that amount of money, there are just too many other places to try first. read more

We went for the Thanksgiving meal. It was very crowded, but that shouldn't make a difference as far as food quality and cleanliness of the establishment. At $51 for a turkey dinner, I felt let down. The food wasn't served hot, or even warm. The brussel sprout with bacon was inedible. There were some kind of fruit flies or gnats all around the table, landing in our drinks and on our plates. THAT is inexcusable! We addressed it with our server and she bought back a manager of some sort. She comped us for my wine. I literally had to cover my wine glass with a small plate to keep the gnats away! The manage lady's only response about the gnats/fruitflies was "someone must have brought them in". Didn't finish my meal or my wine, neither did my husband. I also noticed that there SEVERAL ceiling tiles coming down around the spikey light fixtures! Very dangerous for those to just be ignored, and left to hang so loosely over guests who are eating supper! Our server actually told us one had fallen prior to seating a party last week! Good thing that fell before anyone was seated! Major issue there, that was obviously ignored. The servers were overwhelmed and very busy which led to service that could've been better. Maybe staff more on Thanksgiving! Overall it was NOT a good experience for us at all. The bugs and poor food quality were the worst part of the entire evening. I was visiting from Los Angeles for my anniversary and found this place here on yelp. We went on a Wednesday at 6pm. Service was weird. We started off with someone in training who was sweating - a lot. It was hard to focus. Then she returned with the person who was training her. Then we never saw her again. Our waiter was cool, but he was practically whispering, so I had to keep asking him to repeat himself, which kept making me feel bad. He provided good service overall. Food. Was - idk.... So first lemme say that their THE SURE THING prixe fixe menu ($49/3 courses) is BURIED on the menu. I knew about it from peeping the menu ahead of time, but I had to request the actual menu itself. On the main menu, they put THE SURE THING but don't list what is on there. When I asked if they offered it still because I didn't see it, the waiter smirked, as if they withhold on purpose and cracked the secret menu or something. He brought me the paper menu and we ordered. Hubs got Caesar salad, FILET MIGNON (which comes with mashed potatoes). I got the HERB BRICK CHICKEN, which also comes with mashed potatoes. It got awkward because I had twice the amount of potatoes as he did. Especially when you're serving the same table, being consistent with the serving sizes should be considered for carefully. Anyway, he ordered well done, and his steak came medium well. He didn't want to send it back so he dealt, but it was not cooked to his preference. The table across from us sent back their steak THREE times, until the wife gave up and just ate her side and dessert. They were struggling with steak that night. My chicken was decent, but had some kind of peppers that kept choking me up, then when I asked about it the waiter tried to make it seem like he didn't know what I could be talking about. Also, in certain parts, my knife couldn't cut it. It was too cooked on the bottom or something. See photo. Lastly I will say that it felt like this dish relied on the pepper reduction for seasoning. Once I took it off, the chicken itself left something to be desired. The meal came with dessert for each of us. They wrote the salutation on mine, which was the banana bread pudding. It was good until I got to the middle and it was still frozen. Like - frozen, not just cold. He took it back and offered to replace it so I got key lime pie to go, which was tasty. When he came back with my to go dessert, he told me he asked the kitchen and the chef said "it was in the oven for the correct amount of time". Why you're telling me this, i don't know, because it was OBVIOUSLY still frozen. And had they stuck a fork into the top before bringing it out, they would've noticed that regardless of the amount of time that it was in - IT WAS FROZEN. The highlight was the drinks. My husband is still. raving over his old fashioned! He got the Gold Rush. It was quite tasty! I would return, but likely not for a special occasion. He was pleasant and prompt, and went above and beyond in accommodating our requests for fresh coffee, making not one but two fresh pots rather late in the evening. We are regulars to Sullivans and decided to have dinner in the bar when we heard the live music. We were so happy when live music returned to Sullivans, and this night was no different. My wife considers the Dirty Bird as the best dirty martini in town, but she likes it with a minor change (she prefers the olive brine rim without the simple syrup). The server was Walter, and he made sure her drink was spot on for the rest of dinner. He did a great job making sure our time was enjoyable. My husband and I dined at Sullivan's over the weekend for a date night! It had been a while since we were there last and as usual, the atmosphere was inviting and they were pretty busy! We did not have to wait too long to be seated for our 7 PM reservation, however, once we were seated, a different server, Michael, let us know that our server would be over soon to take care of us shortly. Michael came back to the table 2 or three more times just to check on us and to tell us about the menu and offered us waters. The server that he mentioned never ended up coming, we believe it was because there were a couple of large parties going on, so Micheal was our server for the evening and he was great very attentive and answered our questions. We learned that devour Indy was going on and apparently this was the last weekend for that and we ordered off of that menu. The portion sizes were great, I ordered a chicken dish and my husband ordered salmon. With a devour menu it comes with an appetizer. We both ordered the shrimp and lobster bisque soup and there were three different desserts to choose from. We did order an additional appetizer apart from the devour menu that was a very good recommendation from Micheal. My husband really enjoyed his salmon, and I tasted it as well. It was cooked nicely. I was a little disappointed with my chicken dish as it was slightly overcooked and dry so I ate half of it and boxed up the rest. I have noticed that it seems some of the food qualities are diminished, especially during the devour Indy times at restaurants we've visited during that time and I just assume it's because of the increased number of quantities being made not sure. However, I've ordered this chicken dish before outside of the devour menu and it was great and cooked to perfection. The other issue was that the desserts we ordered Keylime pie and cheesecake. They were both served at room temperature and I believe maybe had been sitting out for a while and not in the cooler. My husband did ask for the cheesecake to replace his keylime pie initially initially it was ok when I tasted it but then I realized it was not cool enough so I got it to go that with the hope that putting it in the refrigerator would help. Unfortunately, we ended up throwing those out with my leftovers because the chicken was just too dry. Other than that, our experience was nice. My mother-in-law, my wife, had a wonderful experience at Sullivan's Steakhouse. The servers were Beth & Angel and they were knowledgeable, accurately described the dishes, and gave a wonderfully balanced care between meeting our needs (keeping drinks filled, etc.) and not hovering over us. We got the shrimp starter (and they even gave us a sixth one so we had two each, for a slight upcharge), bowls of crab & lobster bisque, crab fried rice, filet mignon, sea bass, and scallops risotto. All of it made to perfection! The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Our only slight recommendation would be to figure out how to reduce the noise a bit. Well, this should have been another 5star review but failed, and for the price I walked out disappointed. The food and service here have always been top notch, but today we lost. We are older and prefer going out while still light. I asked if they served dinner for lunch because we are celebrating Christmas with our grandson, and they said yes. -but when I went to order, they had no baked potatoes, no oysters at all, and I wasn't allowed to order a single lobstrer tail as an add on to an appetizer. I came for these 3 things, man was I disappointed about my long awaited Christmas splurg.... I ordered lobster thermidor just to get a taste of lobster which was not worth the price! I used to serve whole maine lobster thermidor in my younger days and this wasn't close. Sullivan's steakhouse provides outstanding service. Since the moment we walked into the restaurant everyone was extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. The ambience is lovely as well. We needed to drive for a couple of hours after dinner so we skipped drinks -- a pity because they seem to have an extensive dinner menu. Their hot dinner rolls are amazing. I also liked their Ahi tuna appetizer very much. It has a bit of a kick from the wasabi infused mustard -- but delicious. My wife and I shared their bone in 28 ounce American Wagyu Strip. It was cooked just the way we like it -- medium rare and the bone in flavor was very nice. I found the meat a bit chewy at times but overall very good. The Brussel sprouts were solid. An all round great steak place for a nice dinner out. read more

The calamari and the cheesesteak egg rolls were good and fabulous. The salads we had were also nice. When it came to the steak.... I'll just say I've had better steak at more popular chain restaurants. I had gotten the ny strip(in the end I think they actually game me a filet mignon) and it made me feel sick to my stomach and very nauseous. I didn't even think to get a pic because I was so put off by it. My husband, who hates vinegar, said he was put off by a vinegar smell coming from the steak. Idk what happened back there but I just couldn't even eat. My husband did have the ribeye and he said it was just okay. I did end up getting the banana foster and it was good, minus the hard bananas. still waiting to hear from Sullivans Steakhouse management regarding over charges on my charges to Sullivans Steakhouse. Have talked w 2 managers in person, sent a letter, called today and was told the manger would call me back shortly-no return call when I called back at 4 they said manager was busy with Corporate meetings all day. One of my charges had an extra 20.00 tip added to the 20.00 tip I signed for -the other charge was less then 2.00 extra tip added. The point is I had never checked my Sullivans receipts against my total charge bill for the month until this time. Why are there extra gratuities added and I am not hearing back from management. Could this be a bigger problem at this Resturant and they do not want to address it for some reason. Could the wait staff be adding to the gratuity approved by customers. I hate that I am even having these thoughts but as the management has had many opportunities to reach out to me and explain and have not. read more

We were excited to come for Father's Day lunch. We shared a wedge salad. It was swimming in blue cheese dressing. Probably too much but it was so delicious. We also shared the lobster bisque. So rich and wonderful. The bread service is also very good. Warm and soft inside with a crunchy exterior. I had the ribeye. Cooked perfectly. A side of au gratin potatoes and asparagus and I had a nice to go box for lunch the next day. The key lime pie is interesting with a sharp lime flavor but has a raspberry coulis which made me think it was cheesecake. The server was extremely engaging and friendly. Still waited over 40 minutes to be seated. Someone dropped off bread.... Server breezed by for drink order. Wait another 20 to be brought cocktails and even longer for water. We placed our order which included a couple apps. The dinner just didn't flow like a fine dining restaurant (or any restaurant) should. Our party even joked about "did they have to make the water?" as that was the reason for the drink wait time. And about each course, same joke. Capping off the end of a slow and arduous evening, they credit card system crashed and extended an extra long wait.). Total time from walking in the door to getting out was 3 hours and 10 minutes. 3 stars is generous. For the same cost, go across the street to Provision and you'll have a much better experience. We went in for dinner for my birthday in late June, and the experience was terrible. They didn't have a sweet potato casserole, so I substituted it for a baked potato. The logic is every steakhouse has backed potatoes, especially at a price Sullivans charges. The waitress comes back and states they are out of baked potatoes. What respectable steakhouse kitchen and manager allows for back potatoes to run out? I was surprised by this and asked to speak to the manager, and she was already annoyed by the time she arrived at the table. She stated they do all their prep at 4 pm, and I stated a potato can't take more than 20-30 minutes in the convection ovens they have...she then proceeded to state abruptly, is there anything else? I will never go back. I spent over 700.00 for four people, and this is the type of interaction and service you get. The place has gone downhill, and I will find other places to spend 700.00 for a dinner for four. I encourage anyone else to do the same. read more

We started the meal with the Philadelphia cheesesteak egg rolls, they were the highlight of the meal, so delicious. I ordered a lunch special, started with shrimp and lobster bisque-it was just slightly warm and unremarkable, Delmonico 8oz steak was cooked as ordered, it was acceptable but not likely to order again, came with parmesan fries and they were fabulous.
