    shrimp and lobster bisque

We headed over to Sullivan's on January 1st - a great way to start the year, you know? A steakhouse we'd never been to, but heard good things about. So -- first impression? They were busy. We checked in; waited 3 minutes, and were seated promptly. Ambience was absolutely in the realm of Morton's, Mastro's etc- which is to say? Pretty classic for the most part. The water and bread (delicious bread, I might add) came quickly. We ordered some pinot noir - our waiter poured with an amazing flourish - I had to ask him if it was a Sullivan's take? Or his? It was his! I was impressed. Ok- we ordered Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and each of us ordered a cup of shrimp and lobster bisque. The shrimp cocktail was delish- but the shrimp - while good- wasn't "quite" as jumbo as we'd hoped. Still - the cocktail sauce was spot on and very nice. The bisque? A bit spicy- and in a very good way. Definitely enjoyed it. I ordered a 6oz filet mignon, well done, while hubby ordered a 12 oz ribeye- medium. Both were spot on as well- I ordered mine Oscar style, which gave me a generous "splat" of lump crab on top - really enjoyable. Our side was sweet potatoes- mashed and wonderfully spiced. It seriously brought back memories- good ones. No dessert, though- we were simply too full! Final verdict - On Point. And we'll come back if we decide a nice little drive to Naperville is worth it!

We sat at the bar and enjoyed our 13th anniversary there!!' We were greeted promptly and immediately welcomed. The bartender was professional and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed their signature cocktail martini, shrimp & lobster bisque, crab cakes and crab fried rice. First time at this location and will definitely be back! Thanks, Sully's!!!

    CHEESESTEAK EGGROLLS and BREAD

Perfect place to celebrate a birthday! We made reservations and were seated right away. We lucked out finding a parking spot up front but there is also a valet around the corner. Our server, Evan, was excellent at providing recommendations and explaining the menu. I ordered the blueberry lemon drop martini which was sweet, refreshing, and pretty (bonus: the rim was also coated)! The meal started with some complimentary bread which was so soft and fresh. We also ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls per Evan's recommendation and they did not disappoint (pro tip: dip the leftover bread in the egg roll sauce). For our meal we split the ribeye cowboy and crab fried rice. The ribeye was SO tender! It was plenty of food for two people. For the birthday boy, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert. We had a few options but he chose the strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was pretty dense and the homemade whip cream was something no words can describe. They also took our picture and printed it out in a birthday card which was super sweet!

Ich würde diesen Ort mit vier Sternen bewerten. Me and my boyfriend went here for our 6 month anniversary. We had a reservation at 5:45, in which we got seated right away. The service was exceptionally great. The waiter, called Evan, frequently checked on us to see if we needed anything. He even requested us to cut our steaks to make sure they were cooked to perfection, which they undoubtedly were. Secondly, the food. Both of us ordered our own 8oz mignon steaks, which cost $55 each. The steak was very delicious, however, no sides came with the meal. I believe the food is slightly overpriced as ordering a simple side would cost an extra $8-$12. On the other hand, we were given a complimentary slice of raspberry cake, with letters that spelled out 'Happy Anniversary'. The little touch is what made the place seemingly more special. Lastly, and my favorite, the ambience. To make up for the expensive meals, the experience was incredible. The inside of the restaurant was very fancy and dimlit, with fresh rose petals sprinkled on the tables. At no cost, we were able to get our picture taken and printed, which I thought was an incredible experience for a restaurant. Overall, I would recommend dining here at least once. The food was delicious, but the experience was unforgettable.

Straight off I want to say that Lana provided an amazing experience for my daughter and I. Fantastic service. The ambiance of this place was good. We were seated off the bar in a little patio kind of area. In the summer, I imagine it's pretty nice to have the windows open. The other reviews for this place are absolutely spot on in particular- when it comes to how the steak is cooked. The appetizers were our favorite part of the meal, we had the pork belly (amazing!) and the calamari had a great kick! The steaks. My daughter and I both ordered our steak medium rare. Her came out medium well and mine came out half medium well and half well done. She sent hers back and got another one, I didn't because it was still good. In retrospect I think I should have reverted to ordering it a little under what I wanted since i hadn't been there before. We both had mashed potatoes, those were good. And for dessert, she got banana foster. Probably won't return as for the price there, and all the meals I saw even around us getting sent back - a little red flaggy for my liking. But the amazing service saved the day and I appreciate that.

I am missing half my order, which costs $300. I called but cannot get through. Food that I've received tastes good.

Everything about this steakhouse was amazing. The service was top tier. I wish we got our waiter's name so I could give him a shoutout because he was perfect! He was attentive and professional and very knowledgeable on the menu. There were literally no flaws in his service. The food was delicious. We ordered the seared ahi tuna for our appetizer- highly recommend! The sauce served with it compliments the tuna really well and has a spicy kick. All of their appetizers sounded so good! As for the steaks, they offer a great variety in different sizes. I was contemplating either an 8oz or 12oz cut. I ended up ordering the 8oz NY strip well-done (I know that irks some people haha) and it was truly cooked well-done. Some places don't cook it all the way through because I'll find it pink in the middle. Not here. It was just how I like it! My boyfriend ordered his steak medium and it was perfect. The food runner asked him to cut into it to make sure it was cooked to his liking before she walked away. The garlic mashed potatoes, french fries, and potatoes au gratin were also a big hit. Everything had so much flavor! FYI - French fries weren't on the menu so we asked if they could make them and they had no problem doing so. The atmosphere was relaxing and elegant. They have a bar area when you walk in that has a more upbeat atmosphere, which would be fun if you wanted to have a few drinks before dinner. This is now one of our favorite steakhouses, and we love that it's in downtown Naperville! Location is great!! We will definitely be back!

This is a more upscale restaurant. Make sure you dress somewhat nice :). We were luckly to snag a parkkng spot right across from the restaurant. It's a big restaurant with plenty of seating. The decor is well done, and the lighting is slightly dimmed. Our server was great. I ordered the steak, mashed potatoes, and a side salad. Our dinner also came with a dessert. I chose the key lime pie. I ordered one cocktail called "White Chocolate Almond Martini". Overall, prices were good, and you leave full.

We came in for a birthday celebration and ate in the dining room. We were a party of 5. The tables are pretty close together and they were seating only in one area. A little tight for us to navigate around tables. Our party ordered the business lunch specials. A great deal for $26-starter (salad or soup) main and a side. I had a delicious salmon with Brussels sprouts. The salmon was pretty salty-but tasty. Two in our party had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. They said it was tasty but not spicy at all. Service was slow-they were pretty busy so it's all good.

Altavida is a new addition to the downtown Naperville area as they have only been open for 3 weeks…read more It has taken over The Craftsman building which offers three floors. Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.

I arrived at 6:30 and there were plenty of people already in the restaurant, but I was seated promptly. My server Richard came over to greet me right away. He went over the menu options and gave great recommendations. We put our order in pretty quickly because we've been to tapas restaurants before. I loved the modern decor and lively music being played. The place is truly colorful and has a very energetic vibe. The service was excellent. Everyone was extremely kind and happy to help. Edwin, the general manager was so friendly and accommodating by making sure that everything was to our liking. He is a gem. My husband and I ordered a few different tapas to share. We started with the empanadas and they were truly 10/10, highly recommend! We had the beef and chicken with the chimichurri sauce. We also tried the papas bravas and those were delicious as well. They are spicy and have a nice kick. The portion is pretty big and shareable. Last, we had chicken en mole. Omg, so good! They knocked it out of the park with this one. The presentation is very pleasing and the flavor is 10/10! I'm a hot sauce girly and even carry it in my bag just in case. The sauce they had in the dish was so good that I didn't even think about adding hot sauce! The rice and chicken along with the sauce is chef's kiss. I also tried the Brussels sprouts but they were my least favorite of everything. They should go back to the drawing board on that one. The drinks we had were solid. My husband had an espresso martini and dragonfruit margarita, while I had a mango margarita. All were good. Needless to say, I had an amazing evening at Altavida! The dancing on the second floor was also very fun and entertaining. I will definitely be a regular here!

We figured it would have been the perfect way to top off our evening. For first-timers it might be hard trying to find the speakeasy since at first I thought you had to access it from the Busy Street and walk up three flights of stairs. Actually you just walk inside of the Embers building, find the elevator that's kind of hidden and take it to the Third floor. I thought that the little trip up felt exclusive already. Once you're at the third floor you are treated to a beautiful array of scenery. Exit to your left and you were treated to the bar and some great tables with a cozy, intimate setting. I'm not sure if it was open seating since there was a little podium right off the elevator so we just sat ourselves. Some speakeasies require a certain dress code to keep up with the times. This one thankfully was casual though many people dressed business casual. We actually loved how the staff dressed as well. I have to try their Japanese sex drink and I absolutely loved every ship that I took. The drinks are fairly price. They did have a food menu but it was mainly snacks and small plates that were a bit overpriced. If we're having a large Gathering they have a big private room next door. The venue was very nice at the top of a hotel with a very nice view of Naperville and the Riverwalk. Let's start with my favorite dishes. We did get the skirt steak and branzino. The skirt steak was a little bit overcooked to my liking. The Branzino was perfectly cooked and crispy but the portion was small.. The bartender (I didn't catch his name, but had brown hair and facial hair was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I was waiting patiently to be served - not saying a word - and finally he came by me and raised his voice to me in a disrespectful tone saying that he is not serving me because he came by me twice and I wasn't paying attention. So, I waved to the other bartender who was female and she politely served me. I also found out that same male bartender kicked out two other friends of my friend I was with for no reason. Plus, when I reconciled my receipts the next day, I discovered that in my "not paying attention," they handed me two other receipts to sign which totaled about $80.00. (At the time, I thought maybe they were just helping each other out with ringing my order up) There's NO way I ordered that much, because it was SO crowded, I couldn't get served more than once, so that's why we left. So, basically I was robbed $80.00, because I wasn't "paying attention." Both receipts say "Potter's Place," even though we were upstairs at Two-Nine, and that's what it says on my credit card statement. Potter's Place was closed downstairs. I have one receipt that makes sense to what I normally order that says "Two-Nine". So on my credit card statement, I have one charge that says "Two-Nine," then two that say "Potter's Place." They scammed me. NEVER again.
