I was with the large group and it took an hour for the drinks it took an hour for the food it took an hour for the check granted it was a large party. However in discussing with other people that have gone to Sullivan's a recent experience with a couple gals they had the same experience and had a problem ordering wine. Then I heard from someone else it's almost a joke about management. On top of it my steak which was a New York was grisly tough and not that much flavor. This place has THE best happy hour I've been to in Tucson. There is live music by some talented and classy bands, the food is great quality at a great price. I bet you won't stop at one drink because the flavor is (perfect blend of juice to alcohol) and for $7 a drink you can't just have one. I've been going here for happy hour over the course of 5 years and have never been disappointed. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because usually it is a struggle to get a servers attention even on a non busy night. One of the best restaurants we have been to in Tucson! Our lovely server Haley was amazing and timing was impeccable. The food was delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the rosemary old fashioned and loved it, the smokey taste really appealed to him and the presentation was phenomenal. First time here. We celebrated our 4 year anniversary and didn't know what to expect other than some reviews we read up online. We showed up around 4, and it was empty, normal since they open at 3. Our waiter, David, was just an awesome guy. Really welcoming, polite and knowledgeable regarding the menu. The bread was hot, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, steak was perfect, and the salmon was delicious. The manager came by and thanked us for celebrating there, and they brought us a cheesecake with a "happy anniversary" note written on the plate with jelly. We had a party of four for their Valentine Special and arrived on time for our four o'clock reservation. They were not as busy as I had expected and were seated promptly. The first clue was the table was not properly prepped missing china, silverware and spots on the tablecloth. They had a preset menu which was adequate and cost !!!! for the evening menu . Of the four this was my first and last visit to this establishment. The food and service was at best mediocre. The mashed potatoes were cold and the consistency of wall paste. I think the best part of the entire meal was the bread. Party of four was $340.00 Food and $84.00 for 6 Drinks. Total $600.00 dollars with gratuity was outrageous for the quality of the evening. We just celebrated Valentines tonight with two of our friends. It was our first time there and we had a phenomenal experience. Our waiter was Josh and he was hands down the best waiter ever! Personable, attentive, and he couldn't do enough to make our evening memorable. He took pictures for us and after the manager came by to ask how everything was, we told her that Josh was the best and she told us he had a new baby girl. We asked to see pictures and he shared his adorable little girl. What an absolutely wonderful young man. Now to the food: I had the filet mignon medium rare. Without a doubt THE best steak I've ever had. The crab and lobster bisque was fabulous and the crab fried rice was so fresh and delicious. #Sullivan's Steakhouse VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE BY MANAGEMENT My husband won a $50 gift certificate to Sullivan's Steakhouse with an expiration date of June 30, 2020. Because of COVID we were not able to use the certificate by the expiration date. So, we went there for dinner last night June 23, 2021 and presented the certificate prior to placing our order. The waiter said he didn't see an issue with us using it. At the end of the meal the manager came over and said they could only offer us half of the value ($25) because the certificate expired and the two people who signed the certificate are no longer employed there. I explained that we couldn't use it last year because of COVID, her response was...Well we fully opened in May, and I called my manager and this is what we can offer. I felt she had a take it or leave it attitude. I'm appalled the certificate wasn't fully honored. First of all, why does it matter that the two people who signed the certificate are no longer working there...they were representatives of the company at the time of issue. Secondly, what does it matter that they opened full time in May 2021, would they have honored the full value 3 weeks ago? If they could honor half, why not all? I will say the waiter did a great job serving us and said he tried to convince management to honor the certificate. read more

The atmosphere reminded me of a cafeteria setting, loud, bright, sloppy. Waiting 20 minutes for our table, right next to the kitchen, was greeted by a server that had not been trained to the Sullivan's/Del Frisco standards. The soda was flat, the Caesar salad was more like Caesar soup, soaked in dressing, and the croutons, so bad. My tuna came and it was a bit chewy but good, the steak was good, the sautéed spinach was good, but cold, and the macaroni and cheese was cold, AND a hard plastic circular object was in my son's bite. We are steak lovers, and if you are too, be prepared to pay like $40 a plate, AT LEAST. We both ordered the Prix Fixe, which was basically a 3-course meal each for $44. For dessert, my boyfriend got cheesecake and I got the black velvet cake, which was basically a very decadent chocolate cake with chocolate frosting filled with what I assume was cream cheese. My boyfriend tried the signature cocktail, the Knockout, and absolutely loved it so he ordered 2 haha. The food was very good. The setting is very fancy and intimate. There was only one other table there when we went so the service was very personal and fast, which we appreciated. Our server was Jeffrey who was super nice. The private space was actually in the main bar so as people came in the space felt very casual and folks were chatting and visiting prior to dinner. This was always my favorite steak restaurant in Tucson, AZ. We went with a party of 10 for New Years Eve. The reservation for a private room was for 7 pm. We were seated between 7:15 and 7:30. No problem. The "private "room had another table in it holding 10 to 12 people. We got menus, bread, wine and appetizers within the first hour we were there. However by 10 pm we still did NOT receive our meals. By then it was too late to eat a heavy steak. The waitress, who was pleasant, did not return to our table for the last 1 1/2 hours that we were there. Even with complaints to the manager and others, no food came. Finally, a manager brought food to go and did not charge us for the food portion of our bill. All-in-all I wouldl not recommend Sullivans on any holiday. They appeared to be overbooked and understaffed for a full restaurant. When we left at 10:30, people were still waiting to be seated. At least one group had been standing there since their 8:30 reservation. Reheating the steak the following day was certainly not as good as it would have been fresh! We drove 2 hours to get to this special restaurant . So Disappointed !!! read more

Wow... just wow. This place is just so bad. The food here is so incredibly bad it's just shocking. There were 7 of us and out of the 4 that ordered steak ZERO received their order cooked as asked. The meat was chewy and tasteless and come out grey. Yes, grey. So nasty. Texas Roadhouse does a better job for half the price. 2 of us ordered Salmon and it was completely overcooked. The crab cakes were also a miss, covered in crunchy panko and 2 inches wide; horrible and seasoned poorly and tasted bad. 1 ordered a burger that may as well have come from an Applebees and it too was not cooked properly. By far the worst of the worst was the lobster bisque and this is not hyperbole, it was dishwater. It literally tasted like dishwater. The only things this place excelled at were the frites (french fries) and salad. If you want to dress up (there is a dress code...lol, what a joke) for such sub par food, this is the place. $400 later, I am all the wiser. NEVER AGAIN. This used to be my favorite steakhouse in Tucson. I just tried it for the first time since moving back to Tucson for dinner. The service was impeccable. The Tom Collins was not good and had to send back. The first Tito's Moscow Mule I ordered was flat but the second was better. The crispy shanghai calamari app was sickeningly sweet. It would have been better if they put way less sauce on it. Maybe try ordering it light on the sauce or sauce on the side? The filet mignon was not very flavorful but cooked to the perfect temperature. I ordered a side of bordelaise sauce for the steak which was just ok. The mac and cheese was awesome. We made reservations for NYE. We checked into our reservation made for 815. We waited outside bc the lobby/entry and bar area were PACKED. We heard someone say they had already waited an hour for their reservation but were told it would be another 50 minutes. We asked staff an approximate wait time for our reservation and we're told 45 minutes. We decided to wait, which looking back was a huge mistake. They finally seated us at 945. We ordered our food and drinks. The French 75 was mediocre at best. They gave me Diet Coke instead of regular. We noticed other tables who came in after us getting their food, including the table beside us (same number of guest, similar orders). Luckily they gave us bread bc our food didn't arrive until around 1130. My steak was over cooked, the scallops tasted like dirt and we didn't even get to try the mushrooms. We had ordered mashed potatoes but were told they no longer had any (and we're not asked if we'd like something else.) The manager apologized and did not charged us for anything but our drinks, but I will not be returning. Since it was nearing midnight, they didn't offer to remake anything and we left without eating dinner. I'm giving one star for the bread. Everything else was zero stars, do not recommend. Also, the bathrooms were a mess (toilet paper on the ground, no paper towels) and there appeared to be food on the wall next to us. We over heard from a staff member that they don't cap their reservations, so perhaps they're better on a non-holiday but don't try to celebrate there. read more

One of the most stressful and unprofessional service experiences I have had in awhile. This restaurant should consider closing for a few weeks to either hire new staff that don't make their patrons feel like an inconvenience when they are busy, or retrain the staff how to use teamwork when they find themselves in the weeds. We walked out after waiting 30 minutes to be greeted after being sat. It was obvious the waitress was irritated and stressed due to her shortness with us and didn't even ask if we wanted a drink or appetizer. I am sure it didn't help that I had asked if we could move back to the bar where Mark the bartender, was phenomenal considering the chaotic and frustration on the part of his wait staff. This was supposed to be my birthday dinner...which meant good food with good service. Instead we had to walk out because I felt it wasn't my job to make them feel better about not providing the type of professionalism and service expected in Sullivan's. If you are reading this and are upper management at Sullivan's, please consider providing new training to your staff that includes teamwork when busy and communication skills when stressed. I ordered the wagyu to bone in to my dissatisfaction it wasn't the best steak I have had. I expected more flavor for a 70.00 steak. A restaurant with a heart! This was my first time having dinner at Sullivan's and it surpassed my expectations. The service was great! The food was tasty and top notch. This is my 3rd trip here and have not been disappointed. I'm a steak guy from Texas and this is a great place to get a steak. I have gotten the bone in dry aged ribeye every time and at medium rare it melts in your mouth. The Oscar style topping is incredible. I've been to Sullivan's multiple times for various events and just regular dine-out experiences, with each trip superb, until my most recent take-out (funky, fatty cuts and foamy bearnaise sauce, at full-price, which was disappointing). Sullivan's is a more-upscale chain of a steakhouse and generally has excellent ingredient quality and impeccable service, so that's what my ranking is mainly based on. When you first look at the menu, you'll see the standard steakhouse fare, sides, and salads, but then you'll see cheesesteak eggrolls and wonder what is going on. Order them, don't even give it a second thought (unless, of course, you are vegetarian/vegan). They are the most interesting and delicious thing on their menu, without a doubt. Sullivan's also has an excellent wine selection, so this is definitely a great spot to bring a date too. I've also attended corporate-sponsored meetings here and they have a great, quiet private dining room, so if you're in need of a meeting space, this is somewhere to consider. read more
