We've been eating at Sultan Kebab for years. First at Pleasanton then Livermore. This last visit was with a Turkish friend. We let him order for us & we got to try new dishes! The Iskender & Beyti Kebabs were delicious. The beef was tender & seasoned well with a slight bite but not spicy. The Iskender had beef over pita bread. Different but yummy. The flat breads were like pizza but flatter & crunchier. Turning the Lacmanuh into a wrap was fun. We would never have known about this without our friend we would've missed out. Service is simple. Orders are taken at the counter. A number is set on the dining table & food is brought to this. The owner was friendly to our friend & spoke with familiarity. It would have been nice if he acknowledged our presence, too. A simple, "How did you like the food?" would have been appreciated. The restaurant has a casual & comfy feel. I'm so glad this is so close to my house that I can go here very often. I tried it with my sister the first time and the food was so good, that we went back in 2 days with the whole family. My co worker wanted to try this place and I love middle eastern food so wanted to give it a try. I'm picky about my hummus and falafel, but always open to trying new places. And honestly, this place did not disappoint! I order the chicken plate and the chicken was cooked to perfection! Not dry at all and flavored very well. The salad was crisp (not soggy) and had a nice touch with pickled turnips on top. The hummus was creamy and very delicious. I also tried one falafel and it was amazing! Crunchy on the outside and softer on the inside, my favorite! The owner, Fawzi, asked if we wanted Knafe also. Of course I had to try that at well and it was delicious! Had an evening well spent here. All meat were tender, juicy and tasty. Deapite the generous serving, their salad is like a palate cleanser leaving you wanting to scoop some more of those meat... But my favorite is the lamb shank... aside from tender and juicy, the sauce is so delicious. You order and pay at the counter, then they deliver you food at your table. Staff were attentive. I love Sultan's Kebab. We scored because we found front door parking for free without waiting too long. It was nice outside in the warm Summer weather, so we chose to eat on the patio. The patio is beautiful and a nice calm area to look at all of the decorative details. Sultan's is one of my favorite restaurant chains. I usually order the combination appetizer. It is my favorite dish because it's so light and healthy with manly portions! Because it's all vegetables, I can finish it as my entree, and feel good about eating well. I loved the customer service. What a gem! We were passing the town and wanted to find something relatively healthy and reasonably priced. Sultan's definitely fits the bill. Located in the beautiful Livermore downtown treelined street, finding a passing is easy. We ordered the food at the casher first then was given a table sign to find our own seats. Their side patio is bright, airy, and decorated nicely. The food! That's the best surprise in today's visit. We got: - Combo shawarma (chickenand lamb) salad. The portion is huge (I appreciate it), packed with meats, avocado, pickles...etc. Lots of healthy goodness!!! - 2 side dishes, baba ganoush and cucumber yogurt salad. I just love the smoky flavor of baba ganoush! The portions of these side dishes are generous too! - Meat pide. Basically, it's a thin crust pizza/ flat bread dish. Tasty too. It's a bit funny to see the inside decorated as a nightclub with a big flashy bar in the center and red velvet drapery. I should ask the ppl working there next time when I visit. Services is good and friendly. They come by to check on us a couple of times, although we need to get our own water/ tea. It's kind of semi self service which I don't mind it at all. 7/23/23 Zach and I stopped by Sultan's Kebab for dinner. We found parking very easily in the parking lot outside the restaurant. There's indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the register and they bring the food to you. The staff at Sultan's Kebab are very friendly and warm. They gave me a few suggestions when I was debating on what to get. To add to the credibility of their delicious food, another customer who waiting in line to purchase food vouched for Sultan's Kebab saying this was her third time here and the food has been amazing every time. Here's what I ordered: - chicken shawarma (mine) - Lamb Shawarma (his) - baba ganoush (to share) Everything came out in 10 minutes. The salad was fresh and crisp. The rice was absolutely fragrant. Came here to get our kebab fix! Parking was easy as it's in downtown Livermore and there was street parking available. We entered in and loved the decor! Nice for a date night or food with friends. We were greeted immediately and we put our order in which was an adana kebab plate. While waiting there is tea that customers can take. They also had an assortment of baked goods that we want to try next time (including a creme brulee cheesecake!). Our food was served at our table. The portion size was a bit smaller than I was expecting given the price. The meat was so juicy and flavorful! The rice was buttery and delicious as well. Rarely do we ever go out to Livermore, but one day we decided to take a drive and check out the outlets and have lunch. My BF picked out Sultan's Kebab. The place was very nice inside with ample seating, a full bar, dessert counter and indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered at the counter and sat inside with our 2 year old. The BF wanted to order the Lahmacun, which we never tried before. It is a Middle Eastern flatbread topped with minced meat, minced vegetables, and herbs including onions, garlic, tomatoes, red peppers, and parsley, flavored with spices such as chili pepper and paprika, then baked. We also ordered the Lamb wrap with salad, hummus and pita bread, a side of fries and a combo meat salad. This was a huge amount of food that we over ordered because we were hungry and ended up taking home. That's ok, we love leftovers. Before leaving I ordered a small box of Turkish Delights to take home, which were so good. Sultan's Kebab in Livermore is just as good as the location in Pleasanton. The only difference is the parking lot is smaller and they're located in downtown area of Livermore. There's also a huge bar in this restaurant. Maybe to attract more of the downtown customers at night. According to Yelp they open until 11:30pm so maybe it turns into a night club or bar after dark. The process is the same here. Order at the counter, grab your number and seat yourself. There are indoor and outdoor seating. It's been awhile since I've been to Sultan's and I notice they did up their price a little bit. It's around $20 per person. We ordered the combo shawarma plate, beef plate and an extra side of hummus. All of them were excellent. The meats were tender and all seasoned very well. It's even better with the yogurt sauce on the side. The hummus is a must have. Most plates come with a side of it but it's never enough and I recommend ordering an extra side especially if you're sharing. Sultan's does not disappoint. Please book this place for your upcoming events. The manager and staff are fantastic. On August 24 2025, I had my daughter's birthday at Sultans Kebab in Livermore. I went into the store a few days prior to my event to inform the manager that I wanted to celebrate my daughter's birthday at their location. The manager and staff were very welcoming and told me to just inform them the day of the event. The day of the event I went to the location early and told the manager that I had 25 guests coming and that I also wanted to decorate the place. He was very humble and kind and allowed me to decorate the area. A few times he did come up to me and asked me if I needed anything which was really kind as well. The staff worked exceptionally hard that day and anything I asked for they listened to what I needed. The food was fantastic like always and my family had an exceptional time at the party. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and we loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. My husband's go to is always the lamb shank which he throughly enjoyed. I had the chicken wrap which was delish. We also enjoyed some dessert which we hardly do when we eat out, but the desserts here are so irresistible! The pistachio cake was so light and fluffy and the chocolate baklava was delicious. I can't remember the last time I visited Livermore but this is the first time I've ever stopped by Sultan's Kebab. My wife and I were in the downtown area waiting to pick up our cat from the groomers and we wanted to grab a quick bite in the area. We found Sultan's Kebab via Yelp and because it had overwhelmingly positive reviews, we decided to stop by and give it a try. I liked the casual vibe of the restaurant: order at the counter, grab your number, and find a table. As we arrived after the dinner rush, our food came out of the kitchen very quickly. The baba gnoush here is excellent. I love that there are still pieces of eggplant that aren't fully pureed in the dip for that added texture. Between my wife and I, we shared a single entree -- the lamb shish plate. Along with the baba gnoush dip, this ended up being more than enough food for the two of us. The lamb is tender and flavorful. I couldn't quite figure out what the squeeze bottle of sauce was on the table, but I'd definitely recommend trying it out with your grilled meats, as its quite tasty. When you get there you order at the register and they give you a number so you can choose your table and place that number on it and they will bring the food to you. They have water and hot tea self service stations on the inside and outside space. Those stations also have small and large to go boxes that you can grab. Simply the best restaurant in Livermore. I eat here at least 2 to 4 times per week. I work at the lab so I come over here for lunch. Sometimes on the weekend weekends I come here with friends. The food is simply ridiculously delicious. The price is good. The restaurant is always super clean and organized and clearly under excellent management. The staff is always friendly, kind, and represent the venue very well. The food is always fresh and cooked perfect to order like medium rare. It's not often you find a place that you consider the best at what they do. I have a lot of experience going to many different types of Mediterranean style restaurants and this is bar none the best. It is on first street, it can get busy, but i still have yet to not get a table or have to wait. The menu is easy because what cant be guessed at has pictures and number in case you don't want to fumble in front of the staff, butchering their home language and food.
