The food was tasty and the wait was short. We beat rush hour which made things even better! We chose to sit outside as we have a baby and didn't want to disturb the other patrons. I just want to start off by saying that I have been going to Sultans for a few years now, but my experience tonight was by far the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. A few of us came into Sultans to order some desserts late at night. We ordered our food and went to sit down at one of the tables while we waited. A few minutes later, two rats ran out from underneath our table and across the floor. We immediately stood up, completely shocked and disgusted. We went straight to the staff to let them know there were rats inside the restaurant, and to our surprise, they did not care at all. We quickly left and stood outside in shock and disbelief. One of my cousins went back inside to request a refund since we no longer felt safe eating there. While I was waiting, a staff member came outside and casually said, "Oh, it's just a little rat," without offering a single apology or showing any concern. I am extremely upset - not only because of the unsafe and unsanitary food conditions, but also because of the staff's complete lack of acknowledgment and responsibility. Wow wow what a gem of a place. Suktan's has the menu of your typical mediterranean/turkish/kebab kind of place but with a really cute interior and an eye popping amount of turkish delights. It was actually a little nicer than I expected - you order at the counter but then they bring out your orders to your table if you're eating in. I ordered the Adana kebab plate, turkish tea, a falafel cause I can't help myself, and some baba ganoush. Note for future self: their baba ganoush was excellent. So was their turkish tea. Falafels were also really tasty - not too dense, and not too dry even though by the time I ate mine it was no longer hot. The adana kebab though. The flavors were excellent, but as someone else's review said, it was really salty - and this coming from a person who likes salty stuff! Like, so salty, eating bitefuls of rice with the kebab were a necessity as a counterbalance, or dipping it in the sauce they provided, or eating it with the baba ganoush. Someone else said the rice was super good, and if mine weren't a little soggy like there had been too much liquid, I would say it's some of the best. They definitely flavor and salt their rice while they cook it. The portions were really nice too, and I love the fact that they include so many grilled veg in their plates and a side salad. Their hummus was alright but felt a little flat to me? But it counterbalanced the salty adana kebab also. The cashier was so great! And very personable (not sure if he was the owner). We ended up getting there later in the night due to driving all day and decided to stop by for a quick bite before home. The ambiance was so so lively! I was surprised it was not dead but I suppose that makes sense because I think they had hookah or something outside which is something to consider. We ended up eating the Adana kebab which was sooo tasty along with a chicken schwarma plate. The meats were sooo tasty well flavored and seasoned. Order in the front, go grab a seating sort of place. Plenty of seating, self serve water station. We got lamb shank, combo shish kebabs and garlic fries. Fries were hot, crispy and well flavored with seasoned garlic. Main Plates were served with good clean quantity of salads, pita and dips. Love that you can order extra side of rice, hummus or extra kebabs, makes it perfect for family style dining. Front had amazing selection of desserts, sadly could not indulge due to another event we had to attend. I will never step foot at this location ever again. I am so shocked at how horrendous the service is over here. It was 9:20. The restaurant was completely full. We go up to the counter. We stand in front of the register and we are waiting for at least 10 minutes. Finally, somebody comes to take our order mind you she let another customer cut us and took their order first then when she takes our order, she has a nasty attitude and tells us if we want food we have to get out of the restaurant and take it to go because they close in 15 minutes Which I think is very contradicting considering the fact that their hours are until 10 PM so I said, do you guys close at 9:45 or do you guys close at 10 and she said we close at 10 however we want you out of the restaurant by 945 like if you didn't take 10 minutes to come and take my order then we wouldn't have this issue right now I am just appalled. I would much rather spend my money where I'm treated with some kindness and respect if you don't want my business then don't take it. This was my spot for 3 years plus for great food at affordable prices. The food is still fantastic but the value has significantly decreased as their prices have gone up significantly nearly 40%! (maybe due to inflation but probably mostly due to remodel and cost of additional staff... I get it but still my Schwarma combo plate is $18 and was $13 not too long ago. Service is good too. The last time we were there, a guy cleaning te window literally went behind me to clean the glass. There was another family next to us, and they ve said the same thing is happened to them before. Orders: Combo Shish- this was my favorite dish, for its flavor & the big chunks of meat that left me more satisfied than the cut up slivers included in the Combo Shawarma. The garlic rice was so rich with a buttery aroma that it was hard to stop eating it continuously. Adana- a kebab originating from Turkey that consisted of cumin & sumac but no evidence of red pepper flakes. This is my 2nd favorite dish bc it packed more flavor than the combo Sha Combo Shawarma-sliced up pieces of chicken & lamb the meats had plenty of flavorful spices accompanied by garlic rice(this was so good! Probably bc they added a lot of butter to it), salad(fresh & lovin my greens). I wasn't used to the sliced up pieces of meat & felt it didn't yield a lot of meat, but the taste made up for it. Sultan's Kebab has been in my bookmarks for awhile and after seeing Al L's recent post and their addition of Turkish Delights, American desserts, with plenty of savory options that I definitely had to make a stop. ADANA PLATE Mixture of charbroiled beef and lamb...i asked the difference between the kofte and adana kebab and it was mentioned they were basically the same except adana was spicier....CHECK! Accompanied with hummus, salad and rice. - flavor was delicious and didn't think it was spicy. Unfortunately, after the 4th bite (or as the kebab cooled) it got saltier in my opinion. My friend who ordered the same agreed and only ate half. - 3.5/5 stars COMBO SHAWWARMA - thinly sliced lamb and chicken - George F said it was juicy and not dry...looked good :) Hot sauce and a yogurt-based sauce made available at the tables Overall, i would return as they have a variety of delicious options like the lamb shank, various kebabs and appetizers....I may even try the adana kebab again hoping it won't be as SALTY as this first visit! I would also try the Turkish delights (again) as we received a sample of the least sweet options and still thought it was cloyingly sweet. i know its best with some Turkish tea/coffee to cut the sweetness so will definitely try again. I can see why this place is always so popular! I came on a weekday for dinner and there were plenty of tables but still a lot of people. The staff was very friendly even though they were busy as heck! Food was very affordable for kabobs (usually it costs an arm and a leg) and I loved the charred tasted of the kabobs. Terrible time of service. We ordered our food at 6:32, we didn't get our food until 7:20... the server was aware we were missing 2 entrees out of 4 and he said he would check on the status. He never came back to give an update and this is not a fine dining restaurant in the first place. If you order and pay at the counter immediately then the orders should come out accordingly. Came here for the last day of Ramadan and I would come back here again, the food was delicious and made to order.

Recently stopped by for dinner. They were out of a couple platter options at the time, so I ended up ordering a lentil soup and the chicken kebab platter. The lentil soup was too watered down which made it lack flavor. I usually prefer my lentil soup to have a thicker consistency with carrot or potato chunks. I will say that the kebabs were delicious and I loved their special dipping sauce. The rice was also really good. The platters can definitely be shareable if you order another side. The staff were nice and I could tell they were hardworking. The interior is big with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I didn't get to try the desserts but they all looked amazing. Me and my cousins stopped by this evening to grab some dessert because we love their options especially the baklava and ice cream. We got there around 9:40pm, and upon ordering the gentleman taking our order told us that they close at 10pm and we would have to order to go and cannot eat it there. I did not understand this since we were ordering before their closing time, but we ordered to go per his direction. We asked if we could also add hot tea to our order and they said no to that as well. I have never been to a restaurant that refuses serving their customers before their closing time. So we sat down in the seating area while we waited for our desserts to go and suddenly saw a HUGE rat run across the folder under us. We immediately screamed and ran off. We told the employees what we saw and they didn't seem to care. We said we did not want our dessert anymore and we left. The customer service was terrible from the beginning to top it off there were rats. Really gross and I will not be returning. Health inspectors should definitely swing by. read more

Very good mediterranean food place in Pleasanton. We were passing by and saw this place and decided to take a uturn to have our dinner here. It was worth it. Its a first order and sit place. They have good and familiar service. Also they have a nice Turkish delight corner with some very unique pastries. We tried Chicken kabob plate, chicken wing plate, shrimp kabob plate, falafel plate. Every thing was great. Kids loved the chicken and shrimp. Mostly plates come with Pita bread, though its not mentioned in menu anywhere. Falafal was OK, not great. Hummus is just too good here. unbelievable, most horrendous experience I have ever at a restaurant. I have been coming to place for years now with usually a good experience with both Food and Service except today. Walked into the restaurant Friday 18th of July at 9:32 PM exactly there was nobody at the counter. A lady walked in at 9:34 PM to take my order. She started interesting arguing that we do a takeout order even though the restaurant closes at 10 PM. I had called in the restaurant before walking into the restaurant as well to confirm that they closed at 10 PM. She was incredibly rude kept arguing for 10 minutes, wasting my time and her and insisting that they only wanted to give away I requested to speak to a manager and or the owner and ask her if this is something that's blessed from the management to do this to the customers. She had no response but said she was not gonna give us food other than take away. As we sat down to eat food, we noticed that multiple multiple servers started making a lot of noise in the restaurant and started cleaning while there were people still sitting, making sure that nobody was able to eat at peace. I was very surprised to see that there was no management present to see how harass how harassing the attitude of the servers was towards the customers this is an incredibly overwhelming and bad experience. I want to bring it to lie to the management of Sultan kebab. I'd like someone to reach out to me and let me know why this is permitted.
