    Appetizer Mezze Sampler
    Poiuytrewq A.

We ordered from Sumac Mediterranean Grill for our chill stay-at-home wedding anniversary. We had Mediterranean food for our wedding plus I've recently discovered sumac as a spice that've enjoyed cooking with. 1. Mezze sampler Comes with hummus, babaganoush, dolma, and falafel. Hummus and dolma pretty good. The babaganoush had a good smoky flavor. The falafel seemed more dark and burned than normal but it tasted goos. More crispy on the outside with sesame seed. 5/5 2. Seasoned Fries Comes with 3 ketchup packets and is seasoned with... salt. Nothing to rave about it's probably frozen fries from Smart and Final or Costco Business and not worth a statin. Pass! Although, they are simple and crisped nicely. I would only order if you were coerces to eating here but only like American fast food. 2/5 3. Shawarma Feast Plate They weren't joking about the feast. The meat slices were so thick. Flavor was pretty good. Maybe on the salty side? I was really looking forward to the salad but it was not there though it was in the description. Chicken had a good flavor but kind of dry. The beef and lamb were also flavored well. 5/5 4. Rice pudding Not your roommate's abuela's arroz con leche. Maybe that's an unfair comparison but I was not a fan. The rice seems to be normal rice cooked maybe in milk and sugar so there is some white paste. Then topped generously with cinnamon. Overall, the dessert was kind of dry. Maybe this is how it is supposed to be, but I personally would not reorder. 3/5 5. Beef and Lamb wrap I don't normally like wraps but I saw the picture and it looked good. I got a slice from my husband and it was pretty good. I liked the ratio if veggies to meat and I liked the spicy sauce. 5/5 I wish we had gotten the side salad, that the fries had seasoning, and that the rice pudding was more moist. Other than that, the food was pretty good and gives us another place to add to our take-out rotation.

Chicken Kebab with side of rice and babaganoush 5/5!

We had a quick lunch at the Sumac after work, food was very well seasoned and tasted great. Portion sizes were generous. The menu is Middle East inspired which caters to vegetarians and meat eaters. Service is quick and super friendly. Restaurant was clean. All the food items are priced decently. Ambiance is nothing to write home about, this a restaurant best for take outs and application based food deliveries. Overall I am happy with my experience at Sumac.

Came here for lunch with family. Baba ghanoush, falafel, salad, date cookie and baklava were most favored In our group, but the chicken and salmon were a little overcooked for my taste. Friendly service and huge portions.

Always looking for great Mediterrean places, and although it's not close to me, I stumbled upon trying Sumac as I reminisce about the old days with Planet Granite. The location itself is a little awkward because it's right on El Camino - but parking was easy enough when I was there. The staff was really nice, and our party chose to sit outside in the back during nicer weather. The food itself was just alright - and also noticeably a smaller portion than what we're used to (especially with higher menu prices.) So that being said, I can say it's a not a terrible place to go to if making a decision elsewhere becomes hairy, but we definitely wanted a bit more in both quantity and flavor.

Passed this place many times and glad I finally stopped in. Found my new fav local Mediterranean place. Chris the cashier is super nice and I think the cook was his dad. Both very nice and food is amazing. Couldn't wait to get home so pics show some eaten items. Conveniently located on El Camino with their own parking lot in back. Place is clean and modern looking. Definitely will be back to try all their dishes. See what we ordered below. - Baklava - not too sweet but dough could be crispier. - Falafel appetizer - best falafel I've had. Moist and a little spice at the end. - Hummus - great taste and perfect consistency. A good portion size for the order. Came with pita bread. - Kofta Kebab Entree - pick one side. I picked hummus. - rice was a little hard but kofta was yummy. Plenty to eat with a cucumber salad. Good size portion. Ordered to go and have plenty left overs.

I was in the area. Owner was nice. First time having dolma, glad I tried it! Good! Reviews were saying to try the sauce, which I did. Wasn't spicy and borderline bland, but I can see why people like it. May be good to compliment the text of the food? Salmon was bland and nothing special. Same with the pita and hummus.

Disclaimer: I made this order as a takeout order which took about 35 minutes to get to me, so I did not eat it at peak warmth/freshness. That being said, the ingredients tasted fresh and healthy. Nothing tasted old or over salted/seasoned. The meatballs were very tender and had good flavor. The pita bread was tastier than most other places where I have had it as well. I think that was the most unexpected thing for me. I like how they cut it into little triangles. The white sauce that came with the food was very good and creamy, yet it tasted healthy. I'll definitely eat here again for a healthy meal that is tasty. I'm curious to try out their hummus in the future.

I got a falafel plate for pickup here recently. I am by no means an expert, but I have eaten a lot of falafel around here and this place makes the best falafel I have ever had. The exterior is crunchy and the inside is soft and moist and so fresh. You can tell from the moment you stick a fork inside it that it's different in texture from other falafel. The rice was also delicious, seasoned and warm. I picked hummus as the side so that came with soft pita. The hummus was really smooth. It was a lovely meal! The guy helping us out when we picked up our order was also really nice. We will be back!

Came to Sumac after co-hosting a fun founders & creatives hike at Crystal Springs nearby! I like the bright blue building. I got the build your plate with beef & lamb shawarma and sides Greek salad, baba ganoush, and rice. It also comes with pita bread. I enjoyed it! We came with a large party of 15+ and got spots towards the end. The waiters were friendly and refilled our water often. Overall good food and good for groups!

This is the best Mediterranean spot! Our favorite place! I highly recommend it to everyone, everything here is delicious! It's always very clean here! The owners and staff are also very friendly and welcoming!

Ordered the chicken shawarma plate. Generous portion and everything was flavorful and well seasoned! Friendly service was a plus! I plan on dining here again whenever I'm back in the area.

Kofta Kebab Wrap (unavailable with pita. Why?)

We've been here plenty of times, but haven't ever reviewed. Ordered Chicken souvlaki for son, Gyro Wrap for my husband, Kofta Kebab Wrap for myself, and an order of fries for all to share. Ordered on their website and arrived when told - fries had just come out and order was ready to go. I ate hot fries driving home with everone's lunch - my reward, right? They were hot. As they hould be! (shoulder check to a different Greek place I reviewed...) Everyone enjoyed their food, especially with the free extra tahini and hot sauce and the included tatziki. The chicken souvlaki was tasty but could have used more chicken - especially when considering how much gyro was in my husband's wrap. It worked out though because I gave a third of my Kofta to my son to finish. May I suggest instead of 4 chunks of chicken, you put in 5 or 6? Still yummy. All of it was yummy.

Lunch is counter service and more casual. We do a sit down dinner service as well. So lunch would be better for accommodating separate checks .

We also got the tzatziki and hummus. Overall, everything was cooked to perfection. My only disappointment was the rice--it tasted a bit like packaged rice and lacked the flavor and texture I was expecting. Next time, I'll definitely skip the rice and just get the garlic potatoes because they were delicious. The pita was also incredibly soft and fluffy. The drinks were excellent. We tried the raspberry lemonade and the mint drink, and both were refreshing. An honorable mention goes to the squeeze bottle sauces--they were so good! I believe one was a creamy garlic sauce and the other was a green sauce that reminded me of mint chutney. They really elevated the meal. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with a great atmosphere, although it does get crowded and noisy during busy times. The service was good overall, but I did have to keep asking for water refills since the staff didn't check in very often. My biggest complaint was the restrooms. They're incredibly small and poorly ventilated, making them feel hot and stuffy. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The food was excellent, and aside from the rice and the restroom situation, it was a great dining experience.
