Despite nobody servicing our table for nearly 20 minutes after we sat down, Summer House quickly redeemed themselves with excellent service and recommendations! They even threw in a chocolate cake dessert for our wait.

Stopped here for a late lunch/ early dinner on a Saturday. No wait and sat us immediately. The interior is very nice and spacious but sat on the patio by the fountain. Nice ambience! Plenty of umbrellas for shade. Service was very attentive and found us shortly after sitting. Only one hiccup was I ordered my beer and it didn't make its way to the table until the food arrived but a huge deal. Had the crab dip with old bay which was really good. Meals were a blackened rock fish BLT sandwich and chicken cordon blue but with Gouda. Never had a rock fish but this was super good.

We have been vacationing here for about 30 years and had stopped going to the Summer House after numerous menu changes, restaurant layout changes, etc. we decided to give it another shot on our visit this summer based on everyone seeming to find something on the menu that they would like to try. We had a large party of 10 people. They have limited large party seating so we had to wait about an hour after putting our name on the waiting list. The server seemed slightly overwhelmed with a large party and misunderstood a few of our questions / requests. The appetizer (bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates) were my favorite thing I ate. The seared scallop meal was pretty good. Not super impressive but a very decent portion size. The truffle mushrooms were good and paired as a nice side to the meal. The hot honey chicken was very good and flavorful but a lot of bones to pick through. The kids chicken tender / fry meal one of the kids at the table received didn't appear to have been cooked all the way , server was notified. Overall, just average - no one was super impressed with their meals. The outside seating / fountain area does look very nice! Probably won't try again for another couple years!

Best meal of the summer!! We had a bunch of cocktails. The old fashioned was amazing. The lamb chops were so good we ordered them twice. The salad with goat cheese was great. Shrimp skewers were good. We also had onion rings. The lobster empanadas are good too. Service was very good. The seating outside was nice. Everyone should stop here

Was in town for a conference and Stumbled upon this place. It was packed on a Monday for their half priced burgers.. which looked delicious by the way! I decided to play it safe and healthy. The salmon and asparagus were heavenly!! I Sat at the bar because it was crowded.. Bartender was amazing! Service was great.. slight annoyance with the mosquitoes.. but we're at the beach. Vibe was chill... definitely would return.

Fantastic service and delicious food. The place is beautiful with a great outdoor patio with a very nice fountain in the center of it. I tried a crab cake sandwich and some lobster and corn empanadas. Both were well made and quite delicious. Other members of my party had some tuna tartar and Oysters Rockefeller that were both really delicious. We mostly had drinks and a great time enjoying the company of family members and a friend who we hadn't seen in a few years. This place serves really well designed dishes.

Family members have been eating at the Summer House for a while, enjoying their grilled cheese and soup combinations. I finally was able to try it last week. Over the course of a few days, they highlighted cuisine from different countries, and we had dinner when they featured Brazil (my husband is Brazilian). We ordered everything off of the (limited) menu, and all the dishes were delicious! We gobbled up the appetizers before I could take a picture, they were perfect for sharing. Piri Piri chicken was nicely spicy, the seafood in my mouqueca was perfectly cooked, and the steaks were tender and tasty. Everything but the seafood stew came with traditional Brazilian sides: rice, beans, and collards. Four of us shared the giant slice of cake. Yum yum. Highly recommend. Now I need to return and try their regular menu.

Tonight I decided to try the new Sunday Special which is a $20 Steak Frites that comes with a choice of 3 different sauces; I choose the peppercorn sauce! Yum! The 12 oz steak was cooked to a medium rare perfection and fries were crispy! Sundays are ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR too! 25% off all appetizers (did not order) and drink specials including 50% off all Specialty Martinis! Chose a pumpkin espresso! When I asked for my bill, Matt (bartender) asked if I wanted vanilla or chocolate sundae! I told him I didn't order one. He responded that it's part of the $20 Sunday Special. I asked to see the menu to add one or two toppings and he said you GET THEM ALL on the side! Ugh! I received it just to be polite and ate a little, not all. Hated to waste all those toppings but that's how it is served (see picture). Great food and service! Great to watch the games too at the long bar!

A really delicious and fun experience-- we went for happy hour on Tuesday and stayed to have the prime rib special which comes with potatoes and green beans ($20). Our server was Maxine- not only was she fast, attentive, and thorough, but she has the best personality/ sense of humor!! After dinner we went to the newer area (Libations) which is a more intimate and moody area in the back of the building- more of a speakeasy atmosphere --where we had incredible creations from the bartender (espresso martinis, a creme brûlée martini and a drink which came complete with smoke (?)

We had Tori as our bartender and she's was nothing but the best! She was quick, jovial, and overall had an amazing attitude. We will definitely be back soon!

Indoor and outdoor seating with a full bar. Waited about 10 minutes for a party of 6 on a Saturday, off season. Calamari was breaded a little heavy but good flavor. The stuffed flounder was the best thing our table ordered. Flaky fish and such flavorful crab and sauce. The mashed potatoes are amazing. Don't burn your mouth- piping hot from the oven. The crab cakes are meaty and not a lot of filler. The seafood soup is very rich, but not too many chunks of crab which was a bummer. The Alfredo was also very rich but nothing special. Service was fine, nothing to call out but they were easily accommodating with a toddler seat

Omg best pot pie ever! And a fantastic happy hour :) My husband and I stopped in for a quick Christmas lunch while shopping in Rehoboth. He ordered the lobster pot pie and I had chicken white chili and a salad. Everything was amazing! We were super impressed with the chili and were trying to reconstruct the recipe as we ate. But then the pot pie arrived. And holy cow! From the presentation to the chunks of lobster ... best ever! Oh - and half price martinis ... great way to start the season!

I only had the one I paid for. There's no need to lie, bad days happen. This is not a speakeasy, this is a restaurant cosplaying as a speakeasy. That may be a bit harsh, it's a speakeasy in training. Sure, it's got all of the speakeasy decor, blackout curtains over the windows and doors, and a big selection of pedestrian liquor but it's not quite there. We went in on an early evening on Wed and there were maybe 5 other patrons in there. Our waitress was nice and brought us water to the high top. She brought us two food menus, and a specials menu. I asked for a bourbon list and she brought it; no prices on the list. Annoying. On the specials menu there was a small section of manager recommended drinks and one was a Willet. The way it was written was confusing because it said it was both a 4 year and 14 year for $52, so I asked for clarification on the age statement. She took the menu to the barkeep, who confirmed it was a 14 year so I said yes I'll have that. A drink was brought to me, but I could tell from the taste that it was not what I ordered. I asked the waitress for the bottle, she asked the guy behind the bar for the bottle and he pulled down a willet pot still bottle (pot still is the entry level Willet and at best a 5 dollar pour, no where near what I asked for). I told her that I was given the wrong drink, then she approached the bar and between her, and the male and female bartenders they had a weird back and forth conversation. Then, finally they pulled down the bottle that I asked for, that was advertised, and gave me a pour of it. I asked to see the bottle and the waitress brought it over but held it instead of putting it on the table (it was a 13 year Willet, Paper Trail). As we were about to order we were told that they reset the menu the very day before, with the focus of putting more love and care into the food. Feeling good about that, we ordered the French quarter catfish and the bourbon braised short ribs. The corn that came with the short ribs tasted straight out of a store bought steamable pouch, and the "ribs" weren't ribs at all, just sliced meat. The only redeemable thing about the catfish dish was the aioli; the rice had no flavor, the corn was cold and hard, and the catfish was mostly breading. We both took a few bites and resigned. I have been to many speakeasies around the US, and there are common themes: a much better selection of liquor; 95% of the bourbon were low tier bottles you can find in any liquor store for around $50. Also, when customers ask for the bottle, it isn't because we plan to steal it or drink from it, its because we're genuinely interested in the information on the labels. The quickest way to get people to stop spending money is to make them feel as if they can't be trusted touching a bottle. Perhaps it was an off day for the staff and this wasn't a typical experience, but I won't go back.

From the moment we walked in, the host and owner were incredibly welcoming and kind. We started with a Hefeweizen and a Cosmo. While the Cosmo wasn't anything particularly unusual, it was honestly perfection -- exactly how a good Cosmo should taste. Once we were seated, we were taken care of by two servers who were both so friendly, attentive, and conversational. We shared the buttermilk fried oysters to start, which were delicious -- and actually my first time trying a fried oyster! For dinner, we ordered the lobster spaghettini and the New Bedford scallops. Unfortunately, something about the lobster spaghettini was really off. I have NEVER sent a dish back at a restaurant, but neither of us could eat it. I couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was, but the flavor seemed to be coming from the breadcrumbs throughout the dish, which tasted extremely stale (not just toasted) or maybe just too much miso? That being said, the way it was handled could not have been better. The owner was incredibly gracious and accommodating and immediately offered to exchange my dish. I ordered the scallops instead, and they were absolutely delicious. Beautifully seared, and the accompaniments worked so well together. One bad dish could have easily soured the experience, but it genuinely didn't. Between the oysters, scallops, drinks, and especially the hospitality, there was far more to compliment than criticize. The staff made us feel so welcome, and I really appreciated how kindly the situation was handled. We would absolutely return and recommend this restaurant.
