I first tried Summer Moon in Austin, and I'm so glad it's here in Dallas; honestly, the moon milk is magic, and I would go out of the way to get this coffee. However, I will say that the store is on the smaller end. It is usually fairly busy and noisy. Therefore, I don't recommend coming here if you need to focus or study. The Summer Moon I first encountered was down in Austin while visiting UT a while back. We liked it very much. So I'm excited to hear we have one here much closer by. The decor is very casual, carefree, and relaxing. I particularly like the long brick wall with their big Summer Moon text logo painted on it - simple, natural, and unpretentious. The brick style may have been a remnant of the previous premises. The only thing you may have trouble is seat availability. This is not a terribly small place, but they don't stuff the place with all tables and do leave room for people to walk by easily. If you're lucky, there may be a spot open for you. There are a couple of tables right outside if you like the view of Main Street. I got their cold brew coffee, which they claim goes through an overnight dripping process for 16 hours. After the first sip, I did believe it. Also with their infamous moon milk, it made a delightful beverage - rich, smooth with a distinct chocolaty flavor. The baristas are all courteous and friendly. The cashier at the counter was so nice and patient explaining their different drinks from full moon all the way to quarter moon. I'm still trying to decode their top secret moon milk recipe. I think I'm getting close, hmm maybe with one more drink or so. Do stop by while you're visiting downtown Frisco or not. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The space is fairly modest but they really maximize on the space by placing different sized tables across the shop and along the corners of the shop. It seemed to be a popular spot as there was a long queue to order when I came in. Inside the store, it's buzzing with voices and brightly lit so I'd probably recommend that area for socializing and their patio seating for getting work done as it's quieter outside. I ordered a lavender-honey nitro cold brew and it was yummy...slightly sweet, with a hint of a floral taste, and very smooth. You definitely can't find a *nitro* cold brew everywhere so it was a pleasant (refreshing) surprise to get to try the drink. I had heard that the drinks here were really good and the moon milk was delicious. I got a wintermoon. It was insanely busy inside. I didn't think my drink tasted anything out of the ordinary for coffee I make at home or other coffee I have had. I have to hand it to them, they are able to work really well with each other with the amount of drinks they make and the amount of people. I wouldn't be able to do it. I bought decaf ground coffee from them to bring home and I have been enjoying that. They are good but I don't live in Texas. read more

Made it back to try something other than their famous moon coffees. Finally somewhere around here that has good espresso and knows how to make a decent cappuccino! I like mine a little sweet so they offered to make it with whole milk and a splash of moon juice or with sugar. (Went the whole milk and moon juice) The proportions were perfect! I'm not a huge coffee drinker but I do like to try different coffee shops and this is it! I had the iced wintermoon and it was de-lish! Idk what moon milk is but it's SO good. Warning it is pretty sweet, so I'll try the half wintermoon next time. My friend had the blended mocha (I think) and that just as good. Great little spot to get work done or study, plenty of tables and chairs. I do wish they had outlets but that's ok. Love the vibe of the place and all the bartistas were welcoming and helpful! First of all, the place is cute. They don't have a ton of seating, but I found a place to sit. It was my first time and even though I looked up the menu and other Yelp reviews whilst standing in line, I still had so many questions. For example, the lavender latte is called a "blue moon" but they didn't have descriptions (at least that I saw.) The sweetness levels are listed by sizes of the moon, too. I'm not mad about it - I think it's cute. It's like learning a new language and the reward is coffee. Plus, the barista was soooooooo patient and happily answered all my coffee moon questions. This is my first time checking out this highly reviewed coffee house. I got the nitro moon which is a cold brew mixed with their signature milk blend containing seven secret ingredients. It is delicious, but more of a dessert drink that is very sweet and slightly heavy. They don't water down this drink with ice (unlike a certain coffee chain). In fact, there is no ice unless you ask for it. My only recommendation to the owners is to offer some explanation for all your customized drink names. No one wants to be that person holding up an entire line of people because they are simply trying to understand the menu options. I just took a chance and order something based on the name, but had no idea really what it was or what was in it. Now looking at the menu online it appears there's a little more explanation, but in the store they are just labeled with a random names. I'm sure the barista would've explained everything to me, but again I'm not going to hold up the line for that so the entire experience was a bit frustrating. On the plus side the drink was delicious, the service was quick, and pricing reasonable. First let me say I am not a coffee drinker but I love a good Chai Latte! This place is in a cute little spot with outdoor seating and parking in the back. They are always busy so if you want to stay and eat then you better get there early. My wife and I found out about this place just over a year ago, and we've always had a great time. I stopped by two weeks ago and was helped by Chase who got me hooked up with a Moonraker. He also gave me several drip samples and a great recommendation on a pound of coffee. I decided to snag one of their branded hats, too. We talked about Topo Chico being the superior sparkling water, but they were sadly out of stock that day. Went in today on a busy Saturday morning, the line was out the door, and the cafe was full. Chase recognized me immediately, got my wife and I taken care of, and even remembered that I was a big fan of Topo Chico and grabbed me a cold one from the back. I was able to write this review in six seconds thanks to my 8oz Moonraker, which I believe pushes the legal limit for caffeine in a single cup. This place was booming when I got there. I ordered a half moon vanilla oat milk iced latte at the employees recommendation. It was unique and enjoyable. I prefer a stronger espresso flavor and would add a decaf shot next time. Their signature "Moon Milk" is made from "Seven secret ingredients " and is available in the non-dairy forms they would offer for any other drink (Oat milk and almond milk and coconut milk, if I remember correctly). I didn't take time to ask all the ingredients but it is a sweet "milk" with a smoky flavor. A separate menu promotes the variations pf their Moon Lattes- 1/4 moon, 1/2 moon, 3/4 moon and full moon = portion of the latte that is Moon Milk- the rest is espresso and whatever milk option you prefer. They have your typical drinks as well. Plenty of snacks for sale including some tasty looking pastries with gluten free options. I'm big on trying syrups and sauces that are made in-house. I didn't ask if they had any but they had a series of bottled syrups that appear to be from an outside manufacturer although I could be corrected on this. Environment had a local comfortable vibe with indoor and outdoor seating. They were well staffed with friendly and quick service considering the craft and busyness. I respect when someone tries to do something different. Summer Moon is doing coffee different with their wood fire roasted coffee. For specialty coffee enthusiasts I probably wouldn't categorize this shop in that camp but what it is, is a coffee shop with a great atmosphere and decent mixed drinks utilizing their signature Moon Milk. You can choose sweetness levels, almost a shout-out to boba and milk tea, but with coffee. I came on a Friday afternoon and this spot was poppin, the number of customers coming through was ridiculous. Goes to show that they're doing something right. I usually just order drip but if it's your first time I'd probably recommend getting some mixed drink with their milk. Summer Moon should appeal to those with somewhat of a sweet tooth or like coffee with add ins, which is most people. And for those wondering, bags of coffee are around $13 read more

Love this coffee spot in Frisco! The space is warm and inviting and the staff are awesome. I went here two days this week for pre-work coffee, etc. I recommend the Nitro cold brew with a bit of their moon milk (a special sweetened milk they use in their beverages). I cam here after my dad raved about it but it's such a lovely coffee shop with adorable decor, lots of seating, wifi, a clean bathroom, and such good coffee. I got the summer moon latte with 1/2 moon because I don't usually like too much sweet in my coffee. I found that it was sweeter than I expected, but it was so smooth and very tasty! Something to keep in mind, however, is that the small summer moon latte only has one shot of espresso. Personally, I didn't taste it too much, but if you aren't big into coffee then you might like it. It's such a cozy place and the staff was very patient as my dad asked a million questions about their coffee. They make their coffee with half moon milk, which the girl described as a cross over of sweet cream and ice cream, oh ok, that sound yummy. Getting a peppermint mocha I wasn't aure what to expect. I got a large with only 2 espresso shots instead of 3. Took my first sip and could taste the bitter of coffee so I put a shot of cream in it and it's perfect. This is yummy just like my home place - yeah. Love it. Ugh, sometimes my mom and I will just crave the moon milk from Summer Moon and can't think to go to any other coffee shop. It is straight up the most unique flavor in all the coffee shops I've ever been to. I actually am more of a tea person, and their matcha moon, particularly the iced version, is absolutely heavenly - I wish I could put more emphasis on that! There is a few locations in the Dallas area, and several in the Austin area that I've been to and they all have a really nice, cozy vibe inside - very clean, and great for studying or meeting up with a friend. Would highly, highly recommend to anyone bored of that typical Starbucks coffee! read more
