Great take out, chicken fried rice with yum yum sauce is a must. Large portions give enough for sharing or left overs.

This is one of my kiddos favorite spot to dine in when it comes to Japanese fusion. They recommended this place as it was my first time visiting. The dishes were sort of rice bowls with a choice of protein and a scoop of Lo-'mein style noodles or vegetables. We went with all the choices of beef bowl, chicken bowl, and shrimp bowl. I enjoyed all the dishes as the meat was very well seasoned, especially the beef and shrimp. These were all to go orders, as no dine option was available at that time. Masks are required and the business took good steps towards Covid preventions and safety.

Ok, be careful what you wish for. We hoped this place would get business so that they stayed around but they are now too busy! Walk in order was suppose to take 15 minutes but it was 35. The quality and quantity has gone down as well, portions are much smaller for same price. Maybe because they are working on 10 boxes at once you just don't get as much chicken and veggies. And FYI to the guy taking the $...the reason you are wearing gloves is so that $, which is pretty dirty, does not mix with food. So after taking payment you have to change gloves Ok, it went from bad to worse. WOW, the price for a chicken hibachi went from $10 to 14! Come on guys, this isn't a sit down restaurant! Our order was also completely messed up and they would not fix it. This place has really gone downhill. We won't be back.

Food tasted good overall, but I had to eat around the chicken because it was undercooked. If I go back, I will not be ordering chicken.

I had been visiting Matsu-Chan a few times a year since 2009 when I was a university student in the…read moreJapanese [language] minor program and a lot of my classmates would also frequent. After graduating my girlfriend [now wife] and I would make it a point to try and eat at Matsu-Chan when in the area, even after our first kiddo, and eventually our second. Last year before one of our trips to the area my wife let me know that they were under new management and when I looked at the new menu, I was saddened that all of my favorite items were no longer present, and it seemed that my beloved little slice of Japan was now "just" a ramen shop. While my wife loves and can handle ramen and the broth, I would typically get the different rice bowls, or other entrees because while I love me some good ramen it doesn't work out well for me with the hour or so trip to the area. We'd get some rolls, takoyaki, and other appetizers to share around the table before digging into our main entrees. With the increased prices, and fewer options, I will end up going to any of the multitude of places [Aji-ten is usually our #2] to get my kick. I'll miss the little shop and the times I've had, like perusing the manga while waiting for a table. I wish the old owners the best, and the new management as well, especially if it was a familial transfer, but Matsu-Chan is not for me anymore. My wife will eventually get up there and let me know how it is, but for now, I'm just happy that a little bento shop opened near my workplace run by two first gen transplants, so I can at least get my fix without the drive.

My friend arrived first and grabbed the last available table during a busy lunch rush. I am…read moregrateful I did not have to wait since I tend to get hangry. Others following us added their names to the waitlist. The restaurant is small with just a handful of tables. One chef, it appears, prepared all the meals. I barely glanced at the menu; I already knew I was having the ramen. The only question was which one. My friend selected the eel bowl while I had the miso pork soup. The latter was served with sliced pork, bamboo shoots, fish cake, and seaweed. The broth was full of flavor; I enjoyed every slurp. I appreciated that the meal was sizeable and inexpensive - I was able to stretch it to two meals. We did not linger given the number of people waiting.
