Simply put, I love this place. No kids, great beach, amazing service- the perfect place for relaxation.
We had a great experience. This was our second time. We went three years ago for the first time. It much has changed which is what's nice but also part of the problem. The facility definitely could use an upgrade. The ballroom sound system is not great. The rooms don't have a C port for charging devices. The entertainment could use an upgrade as well. Great performers but the ballroom where they perform should be decorated more. Especially the circus. At least some balloons or something! LOL I will warn you DO NOT do ANY presentations unless you're ready to sit through a timeshare presentation because that's exactly what it is. We were offered a buffet breakfast which ended up being lunch because the presentation took TWO HOURS!!! The food was just ok. We never saw one of the rooms or even a pool! They said it wouldn't be high pressure sales but FOUR PEOPLE tried to sell us!!!! The first guy even sat at our table (me and my Husband) and had lunch with us!!!! Go away!!!!! He called for back up during the presentation, then another guy and then another guy!!!!! Then when we were sitting in the lobby waiting for our ride back to our resort ANOTHER guy approached us trying one last time!!!!! I will say it was worth the Four Hands Massage we purchased with the Resort Credits they gave us for sitting through it but SHEESH!!!!! The whole experience put me in a bad mood for about an hour after. HIGHLIGHT of our time was our ALL TIME FAVORITE WAITER Juan at Aurora Restaurant!!!! He took good care of us when we first visited in 2023 and he remembered us and took even better care of us in 2026!!! We would go back just to see him!
Sun palace is a great all-inclusive hotel for couples or small groups looking for a very chill calm resort. They do not allow kids which makes this resort extra quiet and calm. All of the staff are kind and very helpful. The hotel is clean. The only improvement that could be made is the food, but this is to be expected at many all-inclusive hotels.
Elias is the bar tender at the Diamond bar. He makes an excellent blackberry margaritas and went out of his way to entertain us every night of our stay. What a fun guy! Daniel is a Life guard at the beach and he went above and beyond to make our friends birthday special. He made a "Happy Birthday sign in the beach and made adorable flowers for each of us out of leaves. He made us all feel so special! What an amazing trip to Sun Palace! -Birthday sign & Flowers
My husband and I had an excellent first time in Cancun and first time staying at a Palace Resort. The service was phenomenal, food choices a-plenty and all delicious, and the entire resort was beautiful. We used Costco Travel and the entire process from booking to flying home was seamless.
The overall experience was one of the best in the world!! As a world traveler, the hospitality at this resort was amazing! The staff was overall all incredible and very nice! The buffet had various endless options of good food and it changes up to a theme every day. They had more options than I can eat lol The restaurants are gorgeous especially the one that requires formal attire. I saw some other tourists in casual wear, which I'm sure they just never dress up in their life, so that definitely ruins the atmosphere if it states "formal" and they come dressed very casual. So that's a "you" problem. Everything was very clean with such a beautiful view of the ocean and pool. Staff went above and beyond! There is no where else that offers this experience and generous hospitality in the world. Mexico has the best hospitality!
Free airport transportation was provided by the resort. It was easy to find the representatives. We had about a 10 minute wait for a van and we were the only couple in it. It is a short ride to the resort. On leaving the resort we shared a van with a family of four. We arrived with plenty of time (too much time) to catch our flight home. The friend who recommended this resort told us that we'd be given a cold beverage when we arrived. That never appeared and we were very thirsty. I did receive a carnation, whoopy! Check in did not take all that long but then we were passed off to the "Palace Elite REP." By this time I really needed to use the bathroom so I was directed to one, still very thirsty BTW. The rep explained our benefits and encouraged us to take a tour of Le Blanc. We declined and he tried a few times to change our minds but didn't really pressure us. I guess we were Palace Elite due to the level of my friend who booked the resort for us. We had a Superior Deluxe/Ocean View. It was spacious but it had two steps down by the hot tub, about midway in the room. To get to the balcony or the dining table one had to step down from the bed area. My husband forgot about the steps and stumbled. Luckily he caught himself. With the marble floors and hard marble edge of the tub it would have meant broken bones. The floors are very slippery if they get wet, especially common in the bathroom area. The flush of the toilet is VERY loud, enough to waken a partner sleeping. There are three pools. Two are quiet pools and the third bigger one is the activity pool. All are about 4 1/2 feet deep. It was virtually impossible to get a lounge chair by the pool as almost all of them were reserved for Palace Diamond and Resident members. That did put a major hamper to our ability to enjoy the resort. The sand on the beach outside the resort was very fine and cool. There were lounge chairs available on the beach with umbrellas with resort service provided (food and drinks) The food was plentiful and there were a large variety of options. I found the food in the buffet to be too salty. Our favorite restaurant for dinner was Fuego, both for the ambiance and the food. Our least favorite was the Italian restaurant, Trattoria. The pasta was good but our mains were inedible. They had good flavor but the meat (chicken for me and beef for him) was tough and couldn't be swallowed. Thai was so-so but I loved one of their specialty drinks (Saki Rose Sour) so stopped by one night when we were dining elsewhere and asked if I could get one to go. They were happy to oblige. I had a latte twice at Sweet and Coffee but both times it was not hot so I gave up getting it there. In the restaurant for breakfast my lattes were piping hot. Lunch at the buffet has a pasta bar with a list of entrees. One is Arrabbiata. The ingredients of this normally vegetarian dish listed were "garlic, pepperoncino and tomato sauce ''. I ordered it and it contained some sort of meat. I asked for it without meat and was told in the future I should ask for "Plain Arrabbiata" What? They treat food allergies very seriously. Before we arrived I filled out an allergy survey on the app. I'm allergic to shrimp, but it's a minor allergy and I just don't order shrimp, but at each and every meal, before being seated, I was asked about it so they can inform the cooks. It got to be way too much. If you have an allergy where cross-contamination is an issue, perhaps it would be wise, but for dietary issues that you maintain on your own, fill out that questionnaire cautiously. I tried many cocktails based on other guests' recommendations. I did discover that each bartender had a different way of making some of the drinks. One time my Mayan Riviera drink was three levels of juices blended, the next time it was made over ice. At times the drinks were strong, other times very weak. The service was phenomenal. All the staff were courteous and happy to provide service. The resort app can be used to order room service and restocking of the amenities in the room. We asked for extra pillows and extra water. Both were delivered promptly and the room service order was correct (we had specific requests for the standard dishes) and delivered on time. Would we return and recommend this resort? If it wasn't a membership driven resort, I'd love to go back. However, there definitely is a class system here. Diamond and Resident members are reserved practically all the lounge chairs at all three pools and there is an air of entitlement that was off-putting to us. Our booking came with two free tours. We were told only just 3 were available. Tulum, Ek Balam or a dolphin encounter. Ek Balam would have been 7 am - 7 pm and I have a reluctance to support dolphin captivity. We took the Tulum tour. The bus stopped at each Palace resort to pick up people and with a bathroom stop with a long line, it was 4 hours before we were in the ruins after leaving the resort.
Quick 3 night getaway. Stress free the entire time. Go to the swim up bar and ask for the "secret" drink. Dinner at Trattoria and Thai were delicious. Spa treatment with massage the morning we left to achieve maximum relaxation before flying home. We will return many more times!
We had an absolutely incredible stay at Sun Palace! We originally thought we'd spend most of our time relaxing at the quiet pool, but we never even made it there! Every single day, we found ourselves at the fun pool, thanks to the amazing entertainment crew. They made each day unforgettable with their energy, activities, and genuine kindness. We truly had the best time with them! A special shoutout to Jonathan, Jesus, Pedro, and Allan for making everyday the best day at the pool! Our room was spacious, extremely clean, and comfortable, everything you'd want for a relaxing vacation. Housekeeping did an outstanding job keeping everything cleaned and refreshed! I was a little worried the food might get repetitive because of only having four restaurants, but that was never the case. With large, varied menus, there was something new and delicious to try every day. I never had a meal I didn't enjoy, and never once left a table hungry! The staff across the board were fantastic! Everyone we encountered was kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. There was always something to do in the evenings. Anything from acoustic singers to a fire show, so much fun!!! We loved it so much that we're already talking about bringing our family to Sun Palace so they can experience the same amazing vacation we did!
This is my favorite of the Palace Resorts. I'm about to go for my 3rd trip in two years! It is MUCH smaller than the other Palace Resorts I've been too...but...no kids is game changing! Unfortunately, the spa is quite small too. We use our Resort Credit to book spa services at The Grand for the day. The beach is the most beautiful and it isn't as crowded as other resorts I've been to. I also feel like I need to write this to defend Palace from recent news....Palace is the victim not the perpetrator.
Stayed at this resort for 5 nights. I stayed at palace resorts before so I was not surprise about the great service and delicious food. The place has a spa and a swimmable beach. This is an adults only / couples resort. The only thing I would say there's only two pools but the weekdays I did not find it crowded so that was good. The spa is also smaller than other palace resorts but we practically had it to ourselves as it's by appointment. We also got deep tissue massages and were definitely worth it. The staff go above and beyond so I would definitely recommend. There's 24-hour room service. I really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant Aurora and the Thai restaurant was also very delicious
Beautiful resort, and amenities. Tried all of the restaurants and I least enjoyed the Italian restaurant, however I did like the Fettuccine Alfredo sauce I ordered. Ate in the main dining area and had the luxury of listening and watching a live trio of singers in traditional Mexican attire. Our meal there was the best. Breakfast every morning at the buffet was pretty appetizing, never left me hungry. There was a meat, egg, and I believe pasta station. Along with everything else you can think of for breakfast and brunch. They just ask that you don't take food to go and I get it because you pretty much can get the same thing in room service. We booked our excursions outside the resort, as we found them cheaper elsewhere. Our barista every morning we had to leave early, was very friendly and a brute smile to see so early. Stayed in the honeymoon suite w/jacuzzi w/a view of the ocean for New Years!!! Room came stocked w/tequila, vodka, beers, juice, water, seltzer, coffee (creamer, sugar, and stirrers), and chips. Ordered room service from the app which was very convenient (fries were really good). The pools were very busy from morning until about 3/4pm where they died down a bit since people began preparing for dinner. Staff was very friendly, attentive and accommodation. I'm very happy my partner speaks Spanish, I was unable to communicate with some staff members because I do not know the language. Now my reason for the 3 stars. *Paid for a set number of days, and due to an issue out of my control (flight was cancelled) I arrived a day late. I had a set amount of hotel credits based upon the number of nights purchased and because I arrived a day late, they took a days worth of hotel/us credits away from our account. Then told us the only way we could purchase something was so another timeshare presentation to get the credits we were missing (stolen from us). I argued and fought for my credits from the time I arrived, it was after I completed the time share that I was then awarded my lost days worth of credits. Unfortunately, I was checking out the next morning, bright and early and had I been granted this originally I wouldn't have had to waste almost 3hrs of my time sitting through a presentation that I continuously said No too. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY PROMOTIONS BEING OFFERED *Decided to use the hot tub one evening and what a disaster in our room there after. The hot tub was wonderful, looking over the ocean as the sun set. Drained the tub and from that day forward the room was wet. I meant the next morning we left, room service did there thing we return late afternoon to the bed sheets literally wet, towels, the room period. Calls room service to redo room (know it wasn't there fault but sheets we're literally wet and we needed a nap) when they come in they tell us they did the room already. We tell them the issue, they feel the sheets and towels and agree that it needed to be changed and said the reason was because we used hot water in the tub . Was I to use cold?!? Room remained wet the next few days with no resolution and we never used it after.
Firstly, booked trip through Delta Vacations, which was smooth. Perhaps most hotels in/around Cancun do similar "membership" elements but this was our first experience at such a place and definitely shades our experience. Upon arrival to the hotel (around 5pm), we checked in with relative ease, then they have you meet with another individual at a desk opposite check in. This is where the sales pitch starts. Succinctly, do not agree to any "presentation" for membership consideration. They will entice you with resort credits, which, as we figured, are quite worthless (eg, only $100 could be used at the spa, which was exorbitantly expensive and anything spent was charged a 16% tax, which generally matches the true value of the item). So, do not count on using them for much! Secondly, please refer to reviews on Reddit or other forums that discuss the, effectively, kidnapping tactics used to get you to "join" their membership. Just say no! The staff throughout the resort was amazing and the true perk of the stay. We had many positive experiences with staff. The food is mediocre across the board. You must make reservations for dinner. On the night of arrival, no reservations were available, so this was annoying. But, luckily, we were told to walk in. This only worked at Aurora, the Mexican restaurant, which, in our opinion, was the best! When in Mexico....As others have alluded, the Italian restaurant was surprisingly the worst. Fuego and Thai were average but the waitstaff at Fuego were top notch (and we ate there for breakfast daily and lunch). The snack bar was hit or miss. The buffets (breakfast and lunch) at Aurora were sketchy with cold food (that should've been warm) and warm food (that should've been served cold). There was even sushi rolls not on ice at lunch!! The saving grace was the cook to order station, which was th busiest and best. The chair by the pool/beach situation is ridiculous. We learned after day 1 that we had to get up early, save chairs and come back if we wanted anything. Unless you're a member, you'll be challenged to find anything in what is essentially the members only sections (the staff reserves chairs for members starting at about 530 am) by both pools. The quiet pool was solidly filled with these so we either had to go towards the active pool or the beach. And, again, if you don't play the reserve a chair game, all areas fill up fast! The beach was decent but the ocean was "red flag" for the majority of our stay. This means you aren't able to go in. In fact, the lifeguard on duty will whistle you out. We did, however, walk about a half mile south to a calmer section of ocean which was nearly always open (in front of club med). We went here daily! The rooms and hotel was always clean and modern appearing. Overall, "shine bright if you're a diamond" but if you're like us and not a member, you may feel like a second class guest. But, don't be tempted with membership (read up on these tactics, don't give anyone your passport/credit card) for the sake of getting credits and reserved chairs by the pool. It's not worth it!

Have been here at least 7 times and each time they figure out a way to exceed my expectations. Today it was deep fried ice cream delivered pool side. Last time it was free massages pool side. Not real happy with the members sales pitch every visit, but I have no problem saying NO. The people working here do a great job. Since I wrote the above, my wife fell and broke her arm. This hotels response is to charge us to convert dollars to peso's for the cab ride to the Hospital. Seemed more worried about getting their towel back than my wife's well being. read more

My experience at the Sun Palace was amazing. Right from the start we were greeted in the lobby with a typical drink and a cold towel for our hands. The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Our luggage was delivered to our room while we headed to grab some lunch. We stayed at this resort for 7 days in August. The service was EXCEPTIONAL, I've never experienced better service. Since it is a couples resort it isn't as packed as the bigger Palace resorts. This resort is an all inclusive so it includes all your food (room service, restaurants, poolside snacks, etc), all liquor (beer, wine, and cocktails), and a resort credit that can be used for a variety of activities (couples massage, excursions, romantic dinner on the beach, shopping, etc.) (We took the resort shuttle to visit the Moon Palace and ate at one of their hibachi restaurants since you will have access to all Palace Resorts) At the Sun Palace our favorite two restaurants were the Italian and Mexican Cuisine. The pools and beach areas were never extremely packed and always had servers coming around to take our drink orders. Our room was so romantic, clean, and comfortable. The view from our balcony is what I miss the most! Take advantage of the excursions that come with your resort credit. We swam with dolphins at Isla Mujeres and took an adventurous tour at XPLOR. I can't wait to return to the Palace Resorts! read more

Amazing. Couldn't have asked for better. Top things to note: there is a 2nd pool that is more lively. They play bingo, volleyball & have music going. Not just relaxing elevator music. Alamo at dinner is flavorless but the buffets are amazing. Hard alcohol is watered down, but saves everyone from people getting super sloppy. All staff members are super nice & pleasant. Even helped me with medicine since I don't speak the language. I would recommend this place to everyone. Perfect getaway. Adults only!!!! read more

Great place to stay! From the moment you get there, the customer service is the best. Everyone greets you with a smile on their face. The four different restaurants they have are all outstanding. Last but not least, the bartenders were the best in the whole world (specifically the two Armando's). They made us many different cool and tasty drinks all night, it was a fun time with them! We look forward to visiting them and the rest of the staff, they truly made us feel like family during that week. Overall, it was the best experience and most enjoyable & relaxing vacation so far, definitely recommend! read more

Review is only for wedding coordinator and tour. Wedding coordinator was very nice and the grounds are well kept. They don't have valet parking and are on a very busy frontage road. Love that the main lobby was air conditioned as well as all the hallways, but unfortunately the wedding locations were not what we envisioned. They had two terraces, one narrow one that overlooked the beach and one that overlooked a pool. I'm glad the coordinator told us they would not close the pool during our wedding, because had we booked this place for our wedding, I would not have been happy if there were rambunctious guests in the pool during the ceremony. Every staff member was gracious and other guests enjoyed their stay there. We even spoke to a travel agent that was touring several resorts that weekend with a group of other travel agents, and she reported it was one of the nicer resorts in Cancun. read more

So we had a really bad experience with moonpalace and thankfully were able to switch to this hotel with the help of Erik and the female day manager. The energy at this hotel is completely different, starting with the employees all the way to their can-do attitude and Environment. People are happy they are smiling, traditional Mexican hospitality is still alive and well. I was so happy here, we cancelled (meaning just decided to let it go, since refunds with the vacation planners are none existent) the last excursion! We would have loved to extend our vacation. The vacation planners her are a lot less intense and are more pleasant to work with. Still the same company and still the same credits but entirely different delivery. My biggest compliment to the kid who sets up the chairs on the beach and the towel girl. He works so hard and is such a humble guy. He really does deserve your tips so take care of him! And their is a towel lady that picks up the dirty towels and keeps the pool area clean that was super hard working. She also was really sweet noticing that our towels were wet from the beach, she went to get nice warm dry ones. The food is better here than the moon palace and Their presentation is nicer. Almost took one star off because of the food. Don't get me wrong-It's good, fresh, and has variety, but it could be better...then again we are super spoiled foodies from San Francisco:) Like always it's the little things that make or break an experience. Sun palace had a lot of little things that made a big difference. We can't wait to come back. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Cancun for the first time as a late birthday celebration for me. We were definitely excited for this trip just due to the things we had read on what the resort had to offer. Well, we were pretty let down. Travel: We booked thru Costco Travel, which had a great deal - flight, hotel, and transportation for 4 nights and 5 days. Our shuttle bus was Best Day, great service there :) The deal was for an all inclusive everything - food, drinks, service and going to other resorts as well that would also be all inclusive (moon palace, beach palace) Room: Our room was beautiful! We had the ocean view room and we loved it. The view of the ocean was just amazing. Even with the gloomy weather, we still enjoyed it. The interior design of the room .. wow! And we had a jacuzzi tub to top it all off, which was used 3 nights out of the 4 nights of our stay. The room was very clean upon arrival, which is always a plus. There were fruits and a bottle of wine upon arrival as well. Our fridge was stocked with beers, sodas, and juices. We even had a liquor dispenser in our room, but we hardly used it since we can just go downstairs for a drink. Service: Let's see here, when we first arrived, the service we received were wonderful. We didn't get greeted with champagne upon arrival (which we noticed the next couple of days that other guests arriving into hotel had received). Everyone is pretty much very nice and always offering help, getting us more drinks and always greeting us with a smile, which I feel is pretty great customer service. We also received little door cards that asked us what we wanted for breakfast, which was pretty awesome but we only received it 2 times and it stopped. We even noticed it on my neighbors door knob and we didn't receive one on our own door, which was very weird .. it's almost like they put on a great show the first couple of days and give up and start doing that with all the new guests that come in. Resort Credit: NOW, for the "vacation planner" or the information people, it's sort of a hit or miss thing, but majority of it was a miss. What a HUGE disappointment for us. We were looking forward to doing some activities with our credits that we had purchase with the deal ($750 for 4 nights). First, we tried to book the Jungle Tour (boat ride, jetski, and snorkeling) and the Wet 'n Wild water park + swimming with dolphin combo (since they didn't offer swimming with dolphins alone unless we pay for that separately). Booked the jungle tour with success but the planner was "having trouble with their system" to book the dolphin combo and told us to come back. We left, came back but he was busy so we left then came back and the same thing happened. So we slept it off and came back the next day and was told the same thing, "system having problems". Okay, that's fine, although we had to book this 24 hours in advance. It didn't seem like they cared much to help at all. They just right away told us no. They could have called the Moon Palace (which is where they had to book it thru). This Palace is in the family chain as the resort we were staying at!! We didn't give up and tried again the following day, same thing NO! Boy were we upset. We exchanged a few words with them and they told us we can have our credits back in a card, which can be used if we come back but they expire in a year, and then had the nerve to say "it's not wasting money". -___- um, first of all we paid for it already upon purchasing the packet, and second, it is wasting money if it wasn't used because what are we going to do the card if we don't come back? Felt like this was a scam, just wanted people to think they'll be able to use their credits towards something when in reality, we cannot due to the lack of service from this people. Food & Drinks: 4 restaurants in the hotel. The food was actually not so bad. We really enjoyed the food and the room service food as well. There was a bar by each pool area and one inside the lobby, but you can order drinks at the restaurant as well. My boyfriend loved the unlimited alcohol that he was given. Waiters and hostesses were extremely welcoming and polite. We loved the service here in the restaurants. Pool/Beach: This really is a couples only resort. It was very peaceful and very quiet. The beach view was beautiful and you can tell that they do everything to keep it clean. The pools were also very clean. We started going to the Moon Palace to get away from the Sun Palace and their bad service after 2 days. We loved it there. We even had a chance to talk to the vacation planners since we wanted to book the dolphin swim directly thru them. We explained the situation and the look they gave me, just reassured me that the Sun Palace planners were lazy and just didn't give a crap about us or our credits. She was very surprised that they kept telling us no and even apologized for them! She even felt it was weird because they use the exact computer system! But read more

A late review..but better late than never. My Husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon (July 2014). My inlaws have a timeshare for the palace resorts so we took advantage of that for our honeymoon and it being a couples only resort. It was a dream!! With us coming up on our 1 year wedding anniversary, I've been fantasizing about when I can go back (which will be a while since our honeymoon blessed us with our precious baby girl) ;) Thank you Sun Palace for my wonderful gift. When we arrived, it was HOT, HOT, HOT! July in Cancun is very humid. You'll come back home 10 pounds lighter and with a tan your friends will envy! When we checked in, we were immediately greeted with a flower for me and champagne. Before we went up, we had to talk to a few people that will try and sell you on some timeshare stuff. Since my inlaws already have it, we decided to still talk to the guy because we heard you can get some free stuff and since we were staying for a week, we thought it would be worth it and it was! We toured the Moon Palace the following day which was amazing also btw. We didn't sign up to buy anything but still got two free tickets to Xcaret and one free ticket to Xplor and the other Xplor ticket at half off. Not a bad deal! The way the resort works is with resort credit. We had $1500 which we used to swim with dolphins at Isla Mujeres, go snorkeling, and spa treatments. You can use it on a ton of things but you do have to book some of these in advance so you basically plan your whole trip within that first day or 2. Xplor is a MUST if nothing else! You zipline through the jungle, get to drive jeeps around, & go swimming through underground caves. It was so much fun! We also got to take advantage of the honeymoon package (2 shirts, a beach bag, a romantic beach dinner one of the nights, turn down service with rose petals, and a "Just Married" cake with a bottle of champs, mani/pedis for both, & a couples massage which I think was 30 min). My in-laws upgraded us to the concierge level. You get a different wristband. (not totally sure why but ours were black) We got an ocean view room with a large balcony and lounger chairs, comfy bath robes but it's so hot I doubt you'll want to wear it, L'Occtaine bath products and CHI shampoo and conditioner (leave your maid a nice tip that first day and they'll take good care of you & leave extra product), top shelf liquor which is kind of funny that Cuervo is considered top shelf but whatever, aromatherapy pillows, and a nice jaccuzi tub which was SOOO nice after a busy day of exploring. The food is just Okay. I felt like everything started to taste the same. And after 6 or 7 days, you are burnt out on it. We toured Moon Palace and they had way better food! I recommend checking them out for dining. Skip Sun Palace's asian restaurant. It was laughable! Tasted like grocery store sushi. The Italian & Mexican restaurant at Sun were decent though. A word of advice for the drinks, ask for an extra shot. Yes, they are watered down but I'm sure it's because this place is all inclusive. They are happy to make it a double if you ask. Although, if you plan on drinking all day, it's not a bad idea to take it as is. You don't want to lose a day or part of it because of a hangover. The spa treatments were AMAZING!!!! I had a mani/pedi, a facial, and massage. I recommend ALL of the above. Only next time...I'm booking 2 massage appointments...one at the beginning and one at the end of our stay. =) My husband got his first mani/pedi since it comes with the honeymoon package. He actually loved it! We had such an amazing experience & cannot wait to go back. Our only regret is that we didn't take full advantage of the resort. We were out on an excursion almost every day so we weren't lounging on the beach as much as we would have liked. But next time, now that we've done those excursions, we'll be parked beach side more. =) I'd recommend Sun Palace to anyone looking for a romantic getaway. It's totally worth it! read more

"Paradise on Earth" I stayed here July 20th 2013 First time in Cancun, Mexico, first time all-inclusive, first time couples only. Amazing! First let me point out that the service and the staff are very polite and they do make you feel like family. What I booked is what I got. There is nothing bad I can say. We used our 500 credits towards a day swimming with the dolphins. This was my first time also and it was truly amazing. We forgot to order room service until the last minute and wasn't able to because of timing so the next time I go back I will definitely have to do that. The beach staff was very welcoming and always kept the drinks coming. However, I do have to agree with the other reviews that it did feel like the drinks "alcohol" was watered down. Not a big deal because who wants to have a hangover in Mexico anyway! My trip to Cancun Mexico was short-lived the next time around I will have to go for at least a week. I was there for four days and I truly didn't see all of the beauty of Cancun. I highly recommend Sun Palace resort. read more

I have been to several palace resorts in Mexico and the sun palace is my favorite. If you are looking for quiet and relaxing this is the place. The infinity pools, the green waters and the views are to die for. The staff was pleasant. There were never any lines for food. The food was good. Nothing out of the ordinary. But as a guest of palace resorts you can eat at any of their hotel restuarants. We would take the bus to the others for something different. The one thing I will say is that all though the water is greener here then the opposite end of cancun, the water is not as calm. For example at the moon palace the water was calm but not nearly as pretty. Maybe it was the time of year. We went in March. With all that said we cannot wait to go back! P.S. They usually include two day trip excursions in the price. Ask your travel agent or double check on expedia etc. read more

Definitely a couples resort. Good food. Really intimate you get to know some of the other couples staying here as it is a smaller resort. Good relaxation. The drinks are strong sometimes you have to tell them less vodka or less tequila. My man Augustine (aka DJ chocolate) will be spinning some tunes in the lobby bar. Irving and Alejandra offered excellent service at the oriental restaurant. Room service was always on point and we even stayed in the room while one lady cleaned and we were so impressed. read more

Just got back from vacation here at the sun palace. We had an amazing time!!! I can't say one bad thing about this hotel! The rooms were amazing! All inclusive is amazing! We were greeted with cool towels and a glass of champagne, then Erika helped us get checked in and showed us around. She was so nice and helpful! Our room was an ocean view room with amazing views of the clear blue water! And the jacuzzi tub is to die for! The shower was huge and everything was super clean always (housekeeping was amazing) the staff was very helpful and genuine, even helping us learn a little Spanish. The dinners were amazing, nothing undercooked. And the drinks were strong ! The beach was spectacular and the wait staff in the beach was amazing , I didn't have to get up to get food or a drink! All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a worry free vacation!!! We will be coming back here!!! Note: this is a couples and adults only hotel, not a party hotel lol I have seen people complain about that, but it's clearly stated so do your research if you would like something different than relaxing and easygoing read more
