Edit: they're back to five stars. After this post (see below), the matter was handled quickly and professionally. I had my check within a few days. Happy that I can again refer people to Sun Toyota! I wrote a previous five star review for our experience buying four (4!) cars here in two months. Got what we wanted, fair price and I referred my dad and two sons. They promise a $100 referral check for everyone you send to them who buys a car. Well, it took over 3 months for the first referral check and it was only for two of the sales. Had to call and text numerous times before getting it with an apology for it not being the correct amount. I was then promised that they would be sending another immediately - ITS BEEN OVER FOUR MONTHS SINCE THE SALE. Apparently they take good care of you until the sale is final but after that, not so much. read more

Car buying can be a hassle, especially if you're not quite sure what you want or need. The guys and gals at Toyota are wonderful, especially Mr. Hayes! My husband and I visited Sun Toyota on Wednesday before Irma hit and we spoke with Pat, looked at a few vehicles and said we'd look around at a few other dealerships and make a decision. Irma ran us out of town. When we came back, my husband opted to buy another vehicle, but we decided to replace my car as well. Pat was AWESOME. We tested a highlander and I was sold. On Sunday we wrote up the contract and I left with the 3rd new vehicle I've ever had. The people are friendly, the dealership is clean and over all, I'd do business with them again. read more

The sales lady wanted me to run numbers and sign on a vehicle before even test driving it because "someone was already looking at it" then all of a sudden "someone else was looking at it" these people looking at it seemed like paid actors to force someone into a sale. I kept getting calls and emails nonstop EVEN AFTER I LEFT. I was promised a $25 gift card, which never happened. The manager lowballed me on my trade by about $7500, then came up $8k after I said I was not buying a vehicle from them and I would be leaving with my vehicle. They continued to hold my car key, which felt like they were holding me there against my will. They parked my car where I couldn't see it after they gave me appraisal on it so I had to go back in to find out where my car was. The amount they were looking for on a RAV4 was astronomical and was by no means going to happen for me. I will not lose features in a vehicle. RAV4 XLE Premium... has leather seats and a sunroof... no heated seats or any other features a vehicle should have when they're asking almost $46k. They also showed me a paper with a bunch of random charges like $3k for WINDOW TINTING. Absolutely not. This dealership is garbage and these prices are theft. read more

Going to start with saying DO NOT WORK WITH THE SALESMAN AL!!! Al was a nightmare. He's sleazy, dishonest, and never returns any calls. Before going here I encourage you to read all reviews as people are frustrated with the same things over and over and nothing has changed. Do not buy from these scam artists! The Toyota website site lists a Rav 4 LE model as having a starting MSRP of $27,972. Sun offered it for over $30,000. $999 doc fee, $2,900 Vehicle protection package on and on. The cheapest they could sell the cheapest Rav-4 for was over $36,000. So I bought a CR-V at Ocean Honda for Honda's advertised MSRP. I will never step foot in Sun Toyota again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. There has been nothing but frustration from start to finish. Now after having my new car for two weeks and two days before Christmas I have to find out the hard way the pay off for my old vehicle was never done resulting on an unexpected $600 being deducted from my account. After speaking with their accounting department it is because they processed the paperwork incorrectly and are in the process of fixing it but never informed me there was an issue. Now I am being told that due to the holiday and every enjoying their time off with their families (must be nice) there is nothing that they can do until possibly next week. When asking why I was not informed there was an issue with the processing of the deal they said "well it was not anything you did wrong it was an issues on our end". Yes an issue that ONLY affected me two days before Christmas. I will never be purchasing from Sun Toyota in the future and highly suggest you go to a different Toyota dealership that potentially can give half an ounce of energy into actually caring about their customers after you made a purchase. They 100% are nice while they are trying to sell you something, then you make the purchase and they couldn't give two craps about you or any issues you are having EVEN when the issue is due to them not processing information correctly. After having toyota attempt to process another old payment and see that my previous vehicle is now considered "past due" over a month this is now affecting my credit and after speak with the finance services that sent the payoff amount they found that the sales person wrote the WRONG PAYOFF ADDRESS and the check was sent to the wrong place. They are now having to overnight a check to the right location and will be ATTEMPTING to have this taken off my credit report since this is not something that was my fault... will never be dealing with Toyota again. Also, have never been contacted by the facility for even as much as an apology. Great customer service! 2/7/23 - UPDATE!! Called toyota finance today to find out why the payoff was signed for and never applied to my account they couldn't locate the check. After having to step away from my Own job multiple times to figure this out because Toyota themselves couldn't the check yet again was sent to the wrong address. Even after trying to email back and forth with one of their "finance managers" Clayton I get one or two word or sentence answers and saying we sent it instead of picking up the phone to find out what's going on. The only saving grace who did anything was Rena. I think it's absolutely disgusting that Toyota representatives all around have done nothing but pointed the finger at another department, been lazy in trying to figure out the problem, and no one cared enough to take care of a customer when the mistake was on their end. No one cares because it didn't affect THEIR credit and it didn't affect THEIR ability to get an apartment. I will be filing a suite for defamation of character and warn you to search another brand of car in total at this point. But I'm sure if it were them or their child having to deal with this.. the situation would have been solved WEEKS ago. read more

I initially had a lot of reservation going back to Sun Toyota after the previous experience I had. All my reservations quickly left when my wife and I were introduced to Mark Theodosis. Not only did he take his time with my wife and I but, he also was very polite and respectful. He worked his hardest to get us the best vehicle that would fit into our tight budget. Due to Mark's professionalism and willingness to assist, My wife and I will certainly be repeat customers as long as he is still working for Sun Toyota. This place will say anything to get you in the door. And when you get there EARLY for the appointment for a specific truck that you talked to the sales guy Zeke about. Zeke tells you, sorry you drove all this way (1hr one way) for this specific truck that we talked about. And even though I told you to come at this time, "I'm sorry but a customer is in the finance office buying it".... Zeke was very nice and young and only on the job for 2 weeks and another sales person stole the sale from him. If he is going to make an appointment time for a specific vehicle, he should have held the vehicle as pending untill the meeting time. I understand a lot of people don't show up. Then don't make appointments for a specific vehicle if you aren't going to hold it till at least the time we set. Zeke is a new very nice person. I truly feel he felt bad that I was upset about the situation. I planned on driving away in this Toyota Tacoma and he couldn't even show it to me because this customer was already in the finance office. He tried to show me several other Toyota Tacomas. But none had the package I wanted and Zeke had no say over anything. Except there's one over there and there's one over here.. after 20 minutes of walking around disappointed at every Tacoma I was being shown. Because I drove there a long ways for a specific truck and was even early for the meeting time. So Zeke finally gets one of the sales managers. It goes down hill from there. This fat chested cocky douche. Says "we can't hold vehicles for people" . THEN DON'T MAKE APPOINTMENTS AND HAVE PEOPLE DRIVE ALL THE WAY THERE FOR A SPECIFIC VEHICLE! But when I bought my Chevy truck from Lithia they held it until I got there at the time the sales guy said to be there. He even had it freshly washed and waxed . . Maybe if Zeke wasn't only 2 weeks on the job he would have known to get the truck to the wash bay and put sale pending on it. But puffy chested cocky sales manager (can't remember his name sorry) thought he could just push me into buying something I don't want. And he interrupted me and talked over me. That pretty much ended any hope of them selling me anything ever. And anyone I know ever. That sales manager should be demoted and put in the back room. Unless chasing customers away with a (smile at you while I bullshxt you and lie.) is what They want there at Sun Toyota... he then admitted to "putting cars around the back when he was a salesman". But "our policy is we can't hold vehicles, just hide them" wink.... Well a big FN lol right. NO. Douche bag. I wish I remembered his name. I plan on following up with his manager and if I have to his managers manager. It's not ok to treat people like this guy did. Sure I was disappointed about the whole situation. But I could've been talked into a very similar Tacoma if they would add the couple options I needed. I looked around for Ashton Kutsher because I thought I was in the tv show Punked, with the way this guy was acting and treating a customer. If I could put no stars I would. After finding the perfect car and seeing the estimated month payment I decided to call the dealership and come see the car. Loved the car and it was perfect. When presented with the monthly payment it was over a hundred dollars more a month. So they couldn't tell me why it was more and just said it's the age of the vehicle. I said fine and left. When I got home I decided to ask how much it was out the door and I'll just pay cash. Of course he have me the run around and that the advertised price would not be the same if I paid cash. What? You can't pay cash for the same price? Ok then what's your out the door price if I pay cash? I asked 5 times and never got an answer. So the next day I decided to make an offer online. With Derek Miller emailing me back. After 20 back and forth emails he never would give me a price for the car. Something is very shady and they must be hiding something. Why can't you just give me the price of a car your selling? I would never recommend this place. The only really great experience was with Jacob while doing our test drive. He was a great person to deal with. I also tried to get the price from the chat person but nothing. Just kept trying to get me to come to the dealership. I don't want to waist another day with them. worst dealership i've every been too and i'm 48yo so i've been to a few. i did all my homework online on the vehicles i wanted to see. even talked to a saleswman on the phone the morning i was going there. That salesman wasn't available so they gave me another one. that's fine. he had us jump in a car and drive around looking for the cars. after ten minutes of that, we found one, but no keys. so we went looking for the service manager who was supposed to have them. never did find him. so continued to look for the other car. I have brought my truck there numerous times and the last 3 times, it is the same thing. Charge me a ton of money but don't fix the problem. The last repair this week is the same one that I have now brought back 4 separate times. Their "Service Technician's" (i.e. Mechanics) just don't know what they are doing and if you bring it back with the same problem they give it to the same person who couldn't fix it in the first place. Talk about the definition of insanity. Save yourself time, money and the hassle and go somewhere else and if you find an honest service center, please leave a note here as I am sure countless Sun Toyota customers will flock the them. read more

I take my 2012 Toyota Sienna in for an oil change every 10,000 miles, and I do pay more for the synthetic oil...usually around $45.00. This time I scheduled an appointment for 1 pm on a weekday afternoon yet was told it would be an hour and a half, possibly two hours. I said I couldn't wait that long and that's why I made a reservation. After going back and forth the service rep finally said they would do the "express oil change" so I could get right in and out. I said, "OK". One hour and fifteen minutes later I hear my name yelled that my car is ready, and he presents me with the bill. $75.00!! For an oil change!! I looked at the bill and the "labor" charge was $18.75! That's what most people pay for a regular oil change! He then proceeded to also tell me that my 90,000-mile checkup is coming up and that they have a "special" package deal that costs "only $650!" (wipers, air filter, tire rotation, oil, and filter change.) That was my last visit to Sun Toyota where "GREED" is their middle name! read more

Be aware.  Misled about pricing, costing me an extra $750 after the fact.  I went to purchase a new Rav4 Hybrid with cash in hand.  Salesperson Carlos said he could only give me a better deal if I took a loan, as the dealership was getting a kick-back from the bank for sending them a client.  He as well as the finance manager said there was no prepayment penalties, I could pay the loan off in almost full, and then leave two small payments as the dealership will only get a kick-back if I hold the loan for 3 months.   They both have reassured me that it will cost me max of $100 but in turn I am receiving a huge discount on the car.   I received the loan from World Omni Financial (with 800+ credit score - they steered me into a higher interest rate assuming they get a better kickback).   I went to pay my loan off and was charged an early payoff fee in additional to 9.59% interest rate.  There was also an additional fee off $150 they charged for writing up the loan.  In total, I am out of $750.  Being dishonest and misleading just to get the sale does not deserve any of my future business.  I will also file a report with FTC for bad business practice and steering me into a loan so they can get a kick-back from the lender. read more

Previously I have had a good relationship and service from SunToyota. Now I have to ammend my review to say the service I recieved was disappointing to say the least and it was rude and a scam bordering on FRAUD. I had an appointment to have my tire pressure indicator light checked since it was malfunctioning. I had an oil change 6 weeks or so previous and had the same problem and they said there was no issue and turned the light off. When arriving at the dealer the service person / greeter asked what year my car was. 2011 which I purchased new from them in 2012. I was informed that ususally these sensors all go at the same time and that the cost of repair was at least 1200$ with 200$ just for it being checked. The service person told me I was better off just putting a piece of black tape over the light. I sensed that the person was trying to get rid of me and did not like that the car was old. It only has 127000 miles and all but one service was done at this dealer. I left. Later I contacted the company via their website and was told after texting with them that they would contact their service department. I have yet to hear back from them. I had the repair done today replaced with new parts including labor for 367$. Would not recommend this dealer since this smaks of overpricing and possible fraud and manipulation of a previously loyal custome. BUYER BEWARE read more

My salesman Pankaj was great but the experience was less than optimal. I was given a price out the door and sent the F&I office with Austin where I was pushed for multiple upgrades said no multiple times and then on the last offer they said my payment would only go up $5 a month and so I said okay cuz it sounded like a good deal. Got home and looked over the paperwork more closely and my total Finance amount went up by $3,700 for the extended warranty and gap. They dropped the interest rate to add the $3,700 to make it seem like my payment was only going out by a little bit but did not quote me my best interest rate at the beginning. I wouldn't have needed the gap at all without the 3k extended warranty die to my money down and trade in. This is manipulative sales and makes me very frustrated and not ever want to trust a dealership again. After I get home I also find out that they supposedly we're not supposed to offer that interest rate on that vehicle and it's going to be a big inconvenience for them to pay down the loan to get that interest rate that they offered. I am 18 days out of my purchase and my loan is still not finalized. This dealership seems very shady. I have reached out multiple times on the website for someone in management to contact me and have not gotten a response. My salesman was great but I wish he would work at another dealership. Avoid this dealership. Austin, the finance and incentive guy, offered 750 dollars for their messups and then said his manager didn't approve this. Very dissatified. Sun Toyota quoted me a price for a new vehicle. Then the price suddenly went up the next day (exact same vehicle, same VIN number). They denied quoting me that price. When I confronted them and showed them a copy of the email I had where the salesperson gave me the quote in writing, they stopped returning my phone calls and emails. I escalated it to a sales manager and even to the general manager. They continued to ignore me. Obviously, something dishonest is going on. Very disheartening. Our daughter has been wanting to purchase a Jeep Wrangler. She's been looking relentlessly for a hard top that has all the options that fit. She has been looking on carfax.com and other websites for some time now. She saw exactly what she's been looking for at Sun Toyota. She called today and spoke with Dominique (?) on speaker phone so we could hear the conversation because she doesn't exactly know how to navigate the car buying process. My oh my... Our daughter asked if the car was still available. She gave him the stock id number and he said yes. She explained she saw the vehicle listed online for approximately $22.9k after he disclosed the 'real' price. He adamantly said it was listed incorrectly and it was $29k. After a bit of banter back and forth about the listed price, the phone call ended. Subsequently, I called from my phone and the same sales person answered. I asked to speak with the Internet sales manager. At one point, he said he was the Internet sales manager. I asked to speak to his supervisor. The call ended and I certainly didn't end the call. Shortly thereafter, I received a incoming call from a Mr. Montoya. He indicated he was the supervisor. After discussing what happened when our daughter called, he was not much help either. I provided him with the vehicle information and he initially went back and forth and he too ultimately stated there was a listing error. He asked if he could call me back and I said sure. When he called back, the car was 'sold' today. My thought, hmmm it was just available. There was a listing 'error', according to him, by a third party - carfax. Something certainly didn't feel right and I said yeah, okay I get it...Listing 'error' and now it's suddenly unavailable - sold. I went on their actual website and the vehicle was available online. It wasn't listed for the $29k that they said the price should've been. You know, the 'real' non-error amount. Rather, it was roughly the same price as the third party listed price. The feeling I got, it was nearly closing time on Sunday. Everyone just wanted to go home. I'm not sure. Regardless, the abrasive customer service/sales was definitely not something worthy of spending any amount of money. The only thing I am rather certain of, the listed third party price was not an error. If it was, it most definitely was not an error from $22.9k to $29.9k. Maybe they didn't think our daughter had sufficient means or credit to purchase or finance the vehicle?!?! Little do they know, she owns a 2013 Nissan outright and has a FICO of 710. She has a full time job. She also has a preapproved car loan available with Navy Federal. Most important, she always asks for help from her parents before she makes huge commitments. She knows her parents will ensure she doesn't get into something that will have a serious negative impact on her. Please, see the picture of the listed price directly from their website. If the vehicle is miraculously available tomorrow, lose our phone numbers. Add us both to your do not call list. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I don't really like the Jeep Wrangler. My husband and I just bought a Toyota Tundra. We have been trying to convince our daughter to get a Tundra or 4Runner because Toyota's rock! Either a Toyota or Honda. Even if we convince her to go with a Toyota Tundra or 4Runner, we guarantee, it will NOT be purchased at Sun Toyota! :) read more

I recently received notice that my car was on call back. It needed a new fuel pump. I called on a Monday and got an appointment for Tuesday at 10 am. I arrived at 10 and was served immediately. When I got my call back notice I was advised that the repair would take 3 hours. I was greeted by Phil Nemeth who was extremely polite and who advised me that I was due for a free oil change and 20,000 mile check. All was done in 3 hours. Sun Toyota has ample seating and a cafe. Although I was unhappy that my car was in a call back category Sun Toyota made it a bearable experience. read more

We drove 35 minutes after confirming that the vehicles we were interested in were on the lot and available. The car was out front, clean and ready when we arrived- at $4,000 more than the web ad. We showed him the ad, and the well rehearsed double-talk kicked in immediately. "The price listed includes several discounts"- none of which we qualified for. So we're supposed to fight for the price we expected to find when we drove over. If you value your time, and don't like being treated like a mark, go elsewhere. Sales was the typical bait and switch high pressure deal which I realized and went along with because I needed to replace a car ASAP (and I am too impatient). So, OK for sales--I got the average treatment for that type of sales. Finance--I have a great credit score and I thought I understood them to be matching my bank's rate--they came in 2 points higher. I asked them to revise the financing to my bank which they attempted to do but the papers have never gotten to my bank. I have called and emailed multiple times--trying to get them paid--and no response, no action. Talk about a poorly run business. read more
