He attempted to charge me $19,000 (you read that right) to replace my "extremely rare, most expensive in the world" AC unit. Other vendors quoted closer to $8,000 for a new unit / install, and an industrial HVAC company was able to fix it for $200. MORE DETAIL: I was selling my condo and was in a 30-day escrow when the inspection showed that my AC unit wasn't working. I had a few HVAC companies come out to provide a quote. Gustavo -- as other reviews say -- was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. He let me know that his assessment was that it needed to be replaced. Gus went out of town and put me in touch with the owner of the company (Stephan, I believe) who called me and told me to brace myself for the news. Something to the effect of "this is a very rare AC unit and the most expensive in the world. It's going to cost you $19,000 dollars." He knew from my immediate reaction that I wasn't going to bite. Then, he urgently said something along the lines of "but ask your HOA if they are able to *something technical about refrigeration lines* and I can do it for cheaper." I ignored this recommendation because, again, he came in more than double than every other vendor. My guess is that because he knew that I was in a time crunch and urgently needed a fast solution to close escrow, and that because I responded well to Gustavo -- he thought he could take advantage of me. He could not. It was fixed for $200. Be careful with this company.

I am sharing my experience with Blue Mechanical regarding my AC installation and the issues that…read morefollowed. I originally had my AC unit installed by Lemuel, who I found to be a very kind, professional, and honest worker. At the time of installation, I had a positive impression of Blue Mechanical based on my interactions with him. Unfortunately, I later learned through my HOA that the AC unit had been installed on the top-floor balcony without the required HOA authorization or approval. Once I received notice from my HOA, I immediately reached out to Blue Mechanical to address the situation. I was informed that Lemuel's son, Andrew, would be taking over my property's AC project and handling the relocation of the unit to the ground level. The relocation process became extremely frustrating. Andrew provided a very high estimate for moving the AC unit, and after multiple discussions and going back and forth, we eventually agreed to a payment plan split into three installments. However, throughout the process, Andrew repeatedly contacted me asking if I could make payments earlier than the agreed-upon schedule. During the final installment, the work was still not completed. Andrew requested that I make the final payment and stated that he would return sometime the following week to finish the remaining work. I was extremely uncomfortable with making the final payment when the agreed-upon work had not been completed. My HOA was already dealing with a major balcony deck repair project that required significant coordination, approvals, and compliance with HOA requirements. Andrew was aware of the challenges involved and the difficulty of getting the balcony repairs approved, yet Blue Mechanical failed to obtain the necessary HOA authorization before the original installation and later failed to obtain the proper permits for relocating the AC unit to the ground floor. This included electrical rewiring, which requires permitting. After these issues, Andrew then provided an additional quote of $1,500 for obtaining the required permit. This added even more frustration to an already disappointing situation. The need for proper permits and approvals should have been identified and handled from the beginning, rather than becoming an additional unexpected cost after the work was already underway. What should have been a straightforward AC installation and relocation turned into a stressful process involving unexpected expenses, unfinished work, lack of proper approvals, and additional delays. While I initially had a positive experience with Lemuel, the overall handling of this project by Blue Mechanical has left me extremely dissatisfied. I strongly recommend that anyone considering using Blue Mechanical confirm in writing that all required HOA approvals, permits, and inspections are obtained before any work begins. This experience has shown the importance of making sure all proper procedures are followed from the start. Due to the ongoing issues, lack of proper approvals, incomplete work, and uncertainty regarding responsibility for obtaining the required permits, I was left with no choice but to seek legal guidance to better understand my rights and determine the appropriate steps to resolve the matter. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating to have to spend additional time and resources seeking outside advice for an issue that should have been properly addressed and handled from the beginning.

Our AC was leaking so my husband and I called a couple of local heating and air places to see what…read morewas going on. Western responded right away and said they could swing by the next day, but then showed up an hour later since they were in the area. They charge a $95 diagnostic fee which would go towards the service if we went with them. Frank was our technician and said there was a leak in our pan, but because our unit was so "old" ( he couldn't pinpoint the year) he suggested to change the entire unit. He promised a quote on fixing and replacing by the evening or next day. This took about 15 minutes and we cut him the check for the diagnostic.. it's been 3 weeks and we never got a quote. Took our $95 for service, cashed it and ran. We did go with another company and replaced our AC- but don't waste your money or time on a company that doesn't have the decency to follow up.. and for whatever reason knew they couldn't take another job. Just cashing in diagnostic fee and not really up to work.

Upon further troubleshooting he recommended a new system. He was not the first A/C contractor to recommend this, and since they system was 30 years old I decided to have them replace our system. We were scheduled on the following Tuesday for install. They arrived right on time Tuesday morning. Work began right away and they were done by 4:00pm. they put down drop cloths in the house, and maintained a professional demeanor throughout out the day, and left the house clean. He took the time to show me the system was working well and how to change the filter. We were very impressed with the entire experience. the system is working very well. I recently had to install a 3 ton heat pump on my shopping center in Upland and after getting many estimates Infinity was significantly below every other estimate in pricing and the installation time and workmanship was outstanding. Today I sent Infinity out to another shopping center I own in Orange after another AC company said I needed an entire new 3 ton heat pump. Infinity did a service and it turns out the unit is fine I do not need an entire new unit! The owner Omar whom I have now dealt with on several occasions is the nicest, most honest ethical person always providing me with the most honest, reliable least expensive AC service possible! Tommy is one of the nicest guys, came by the very next day after putting in our request & knew the issue within 30 seconds. Gave me the honest truth & said he wouldn't be able to get the part until that afternoon & would also need to get the home warranty companies authorization which I already knew that was the standard procedure. He got the auth within a few hours & was out the very next mid day & got our AC running within a 1/2 hour of arrival. Keep in mind though, he runs the whole show, he gathers the work orders if you used a warranty company, he answers the phone's he does the installation work so be patient, especially if it's an especially hot week when most need their AC back running ASAP! He told me, "I'll take care of you" & he did! I couldn't ask for any more.
