Merch store in the coffee shop
    Lili M.

Just found a new hidden gem of a coffee shop in Newport Beach! Right away the spot looks super cool. At first glance it looks like a house, but instead every nook & cranny is used as a different part of the coffee shop experience. You walk up the stairs and see a welcoming patio to lounge in. Once you go inside, the interior design is so cute, modern, with a touch of warmth. Keep walking and you'll get a glimpse of the merch store and up top, what was once probably a massive living room is left with plenty of seating. Definitely seems like a remote work-friendly coffee shop, too. I ordered the maple latte and it was delicious! Friendly and welcoming staff, too. Definitely coming back again soon!

Vanilla Latte & Strawberry Matcha. Delicious

Amazing coffee shop. Ordered the iced vanilla latte & strawberry matcha. Both were perfect. The owner's and staff were very warm and welcoming. They even gave us a tour of the place. Beautiful aesthetic. There is an indoor lounge area with AC, a lower indoor lounge area, which was so cool like a little cave (with AC). And an outdoor lounge area. The layout of the place is so unique. I love it. This is walking distance from our home and after this first experience it will be my go to whenever I get the chance! Excited to come back and try the Cloud Matcha and pastries 10000% recommend

Cold Brew with an amazing view

The way I described this to a friend was that it's a three-story coffee house. I had the butter croissant and it was perfectly buttery and soft. I loved the cold-brew. It's much more tame and relatable compared to Moongoat, in my opinion. Besides the location, vibe, and decor; the sparkling water offered complimentary is the best. Nothing better than a shot of espresso and some sparkling water, at any time of the day. Reminds me of the Bay Area. The service is really good. I enjoyed my interaction with the baristas very much.

Did not have a great experience here. The inside is very tight ordering at the counter but opens up once you're inside. I ordered the banana bread, breakfast burrito, and two iced drinks. The banana bread was heated but only got half way heated thru and was just average. The burrito was premade and cold, then pressed in a panini press, mine came out with a burnt tortilla. And the drinks, one was with ube and it was good. The other was banana cold brew and the cold foam was supposed to have banana but the flavor was none existent. Seems like they need to work out some kinks.

What a awesome new coffee shop in the OC area! The owners are so kind and friendly as well as you can tell they are passionate about their new business! The whole design and such is high quality and a calming vibe to be in. The coffees we got were very good! Our fav was the ube one. Not too sweet as well- the ratios of everything inside was exceptional. It's such a unique and high quality set up with where you can enjoy your coffee, have conversation or do some work (if they allow with wi-fi). Either way the atmosphere is not like other coffee shops we have seen in Orange County, and that's hard to beat! Definitely my wife and I will be back and highly recommend this new spot!

The vibes passed. The coffee has homework to do. Sundays Coffee & Co. is stunning and I mean that. Brand new, bright, clean, beautifully designed, and in a great location. The moment you walk in you think "okay, THIS is my new spot." Plenty of seating, outlets everywhere, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to sit for three hours and pretend you're the main character. Then the coffee arrives. I ordered the Spanish latte and... something was just off. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Was it the sweetener? The condensed milk ratio? The oat milk? The espresso itself? We genuinely debated it at the table and never landed on an answer. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't right. Like a song that's almost in tune. The coffee is drinkable, even decent, but nothing to write home about, and for a specialty coffee shop that's kind of the whole thing. One more note: if you're planning to work from here, pump the brakes. The owner is apparently still on the fence about offering WiFi, which is a bold choice for a café with this many outlets and this much "please stay a while" energy. Come for the aesthetic. Come for the atmosphere. Come to feel inspired. Just maybe temper your coffee expectations until they find their footing. Rooting for them though. The bones are perfect.

    Banana cold foam cold brew

Unfortunately the aesthetics do not make up for the bad quality coffee. We ordered the banana foam cold brew, which is just cold brew and foam. However the cold brew was just so sour which it should not be. You could tell it was prepared incorrectly and the brew was perhaps too thin... it had a rancid and spoiled to it. Definitely not the smooth and silky cold brew taste I was expecting. Once you mix in the banana foam into the coffee, it is still not sweet. It's just more sour but now smells like sour banana. Sad to say this is another OC cafe that has lots of hype around the aesthetics and interior of the space but fails to deliver when it comes to the one thing customers are looking for: good coffee. Not just an ig post.

I arrived right when they opened. That is the sweet spot. It's a new coffee shop so I already knew lines were gonna be long if I came on a Saturday around 11 o'clock. My experience was really great. It feels very cozy but yet luxurious at the same time. I was able to get some work done. The coffee was really delicious. I got a black coffee, I'm really not into the sweet coffees, the roasted black coffee tasted premium. The owner was really sweet and wished me a good day as I walked out. It is a smaller spot so it's best to come early in the morning so you can have the place to yourself! Everything felt comfortable, cozy and cute. I can see how this place would get super packed so I just want to repeat if you want the full experience come when they open on a weekday just because they're so new!

I stopped in and got the Strawberry Matcha with Cold Foam and coconut milk, and it did not disappoint. Great flavor, not too bitter, and the consistency was perfect, that ideal balance of creamy and foamy. The sweetness was spot on too. What surprised me most was the order of flavors: the coconut milk comes through first, then the strawberry follows. I'd personally love a touch more strawberry, but even as is, it's a genuinely great drink and I walked away very happy. And that's just one option, the menu is full of things that sounded amazing. I've already got my eye on the Blueberry and the Ube latte for next time. Beyond the drinks, the space itself is a standout. The location is spot on and the design is clean, modern, and clearly thoughtful. Little details like the corner protectors on the tables for little kids show how much care went into the whole experience. On top of that, getting met with a big smile from the owner, Josh, and hearing his story and passion for this new spot sealed the deal. Between the great matcha and the warm welcome, this is an easy one to add to my weekly coffee routine. Highly recommend go check this place out.

Sundays Coffee should be everyone's local spot. The most beautiful space with genuine hospitality and delicious coffees. It's a place where people know your name. The owners, Josh & Day, could not be kinder or more welcoming.

Sundays Coffee hit the spot After a day of surfing at Erik Nelsen surf camp at River Jetties, we swung by Sundays Coffee for some tasty drinks and yummy treats. Iced Uba Coconut Latte was purple and strangely delicious. Our daughter started with a Citrus Golden Soda and then pivoted to a Mia Pink Cloud Soda that tasted great and immediately foamed over after our she stirred it up a bunch, which was funny because the server told us that would happen when she dropped it off. Baby chino for the lil guy, and Latte for me. A croissant , cinnamon role, and Brazilian cheese bread snacks and we were recharged This is not a high volume Starbucks, it's a nice place to sit, talk, and hang. I'm coming back Saturday morning for a coffee and breakfast burrito after a morning surf

I'm so excited that there is a new family owned & kid friendly coffee shop in Newport! The owners are absolutely so sweet & I love that they are a family owned small business. We got the Ube Coconut Latte, the Yuzu Tonic & a kid's chocolate milk. The Ube Coconut Latte was delicious, it was not overly sweet & was very well balanced. My husband got the Yuzu tonic & he told me it was the best tonic he's ever had. I had a taste & I would completely agree with him. My toddler got a chocolate milk & a pastry & he loved it too. The chocolate milk was very well balanced & not overly sweet - and as a parent I appreciate that so much. And the pastry was so fresh and delicious he ate the whole thing. Not only were all of our drinks delicious but there was so much seating! Everywhere you looked. Downstairs, in the back & even inside. Which is such a rarity in Newport. And again, that's why this place is so great if you have kids. Also the location is so ideal if you're looking to grab coffee & buy lunch. It's across the street from Wild Taco & behind Mama D's. So you could grab a parking spot and chill in the area not only for lunch but for a coffee & not have to repark. It's also less than a mile from both Marina Park & Newport Pier so you could walk there from the park or pier in 15 mins. Again, you can easily add this coffee shop to your afternoon without ever having to repark. You could do an outing, lunch & coffee all within walking distance. I remember when this place was the surf shop. The new owners put so much love and care into every single detail of the building. It's absolutely beautiful! You can tell they poured their heart and souls into every inch of it. One more great thing to note is that the coffee shop is wheelchair accessible. There is handicap parking in the back & a lift for the ramp. We will definitely be back & have found our new favorite family spot!

My wife and I did a simple iced latte and cappuccino both with whole milk. The coffee was great with no sour taste to them. My wife also wanted the croissant, so we ordered one. It was good, but nothing too special. It does get really busy here and for a good reason. It's in a great location in the Lido Marina Village. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. I did get confused with the restrooms but there was one across the street (public restroom). Just to note, I don't think there was a policy for dogs since many people with dogs were coming in and out that were for sure not service animals. I didn't mind since I love dogs, but can be an issue for those with sensitivities. The baristas were all very nice, no issue with customer service. There's plenty of tables set outside to be shared amongst the other small food spots around. I visited on a Saturday morning after taking a walk up and down the pier with my pup. The line was a few folks out the door but I was at the counter ordering within a few minutes. The menu is straight and to the point, prices are what you'd expect from any coffee shop in the OC (I would think the baseline is $6-$8 per drink) They also offer smoothies and açaí bowls as well. I see that they had an açaí smoothie on the menu and was intrigued! Once I received my smoothie, I could tell just by visuals it was a premade frozen açaí blend of some sort that was re-blended. It tasted pretty close to the single serve frozen açaí pouches you can buy at Costco. And speaking of, the consistency was exactly like your Costco berry smoothie (and dare I say.. even the taste? lol) except of course the Costco smoothie is only $3. It wasn't great. It wasn't bad. It wasn't cheap ($8) but, it was a cold drink on a hot day that was artificially sweet and went down easy. And also, served by the nicest staff!! Next time I'll try their matcha (which is what I was going to order but then I had to get spontaneous lol)

I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.
