I love, luv luiuvvvbbvvvgv. eating fish and chips here, the halibut is hot at the table the steam breaks through when with the "big bite", i was going to say shark bite but that's someone else catchphrase. They pile the fries on and then the fish, a tower of food too much for me but well worth the try and they are super duber friendly.. I would give it a 5 but they stop the halibut skewers they were amazing and the owner said simply to cook . Can you get fish and chips anywhere in the city yeah, is it steaming hot there no, it's steaming hot every order and everyone or they don't serve it

I saw this place on social and decided to give it a go. It was the hole in the wall type, so I was like heck yeah! I chose this place over Spuds Fish n Chips because they had the combination which gave me a piece of everything. The combination had Halibut, Prawns and Oysters, all about the mixed platter life. Don't expect major decor, it was simple and basic. An elderly man working the counter was just doing his job. So he wasn't thee friendliest but he wasn't rude. But the food can out really fast and fresh! Overall, I wanna try the competition near to get a final verdict. But saying yes to coming back.

Classic cod fish and chips done right! They cook everything to order so it's fresh and hot when you pick it up. For $25 we got a large cod fish and chips (3 pieces of fish) and a large clam chowder. Paired well with a solid tartar sauce.

My sister and I got dinner here last week and the man working is sooo sweet. I ordered a 3 piece cod and my sister ordered 2 and we both were so surprised when we got home and saw that he had added an extra piece each for us. Literal angel. Fish was delicious. Loved the home made tartar and malt vinegar. When we were there he was trying to get us to take some Halloween candy haha. Will have to come back more often when I'm craving fish and chips. He's just the sweetest thing.

Fresh and delicious!! The cod fish and chips and fried shrimp were incredible. Love everything about this place, family run to this day. Staff always friendly. Pro tip: ask for the cocktail sauce for the shrimp.

It came with 2 pieces of cod, fries or coleslaw (I chose coleslaw. It does NOT come with raisins which I was very pleased about), tartar sauce, a drink, and 3 prawns. Prawns were my favorite part of the meal. Perfectly cooked. Coleslaw was pretty good, a little sweet, and helped cut all the oil. Cod and prawns were crunchy and not overly oily. My bf got the 3 piece cod which came with fries. The fries were dry, which means they were probably over fried. Clam chowder was pretty darn good. Mac n cheese was good but ultimately it reminded me of the mac n cheese I'd eat as a kid from frozen TV dinners, which made me nostalgic so not sure how to feel. Think I saw someone else say the pasta was overcooked. I wouldn't say it's overcooked but it's not al dente either. Tartar sauce is not free here! 79 cents each. I would recommend TWO containers for 1 order. I got 1 serving of tartar, which came with the special, and it was not enough for 2 piece cod + 3 prawns. We ordered another 1 serving of tartar for my bf and it was not enough for his 3 piece cod either. Overall my bf and I both separately came to the conclusion that it feels "homemade". Like stuff a family would make at home.

This restaurant opened pretty recently near the waterfront. I was a bit unsure on what to expect -…read morebecause on one hand it felt like a classic overpriced spot targeting tourists looking for fish, but on the other side Tom Douglas has opened a lot of pretty good places across the city. I had the fish and chips, which are three pieces of Alaskan cod - coming with fries, tartar sauce, and ketchup. These were seriously awesome. I have to first talk about the beer batter on the outside, which has a phenomenal crunch. It's craggly and crunchy in the best of ways - with a consistent crispiness across the entire fish for every piece. I don't think I've ever had a crunch this good on fish and chips. The oil is clearly fresh, and it's served with basically no delay from the frying. I also loved the cod inside. It's super moist and flaky. Obviously, the fish doesn't have a lot of fat, but it makes up for it with a disappearing texture where you barely even need to bite through. They've clearly gotten the formula right on the fish. If that wasn't enough, the fries were easily the best I've ever had with fish and chips. They were hot, thick, and fluffy - a perfect combination that led to delicious results. The portion on these was great as well. If I had one complaint, the tartar sauce wasn't very good. It felt like it was missing both fat and acid, and tasted closer to ranch than what I was expecting a tartar sauce to be. I just didn't end up using it for the fish. Yes, this is pricey. The 3-piece order cost me $26 before tax/tip. That's quite expensive - despite a solid portion size. Is this the best fish and chips in the city? To me it's between this and Pacific Inn Pub. They have a much better tartar sauce and serve a larger portion at a third less of the price, but I think the actual fish and the fries here are better. I would say it's a toss-up - you can't go wrong with either one. Overall, a fantastic new opening that I would love to bring people to. 9/10

I didn't eat more than two bites. My fish was way over cooked. The fries were decent. Server was excellent and I felt bad dinging the star for her. I heard many complaints about this fact while I was in the tight quarters. Prime location, just need to look at fixing the cooking issues and this place would be jammed.

We arrived around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and were told the wait would be about an hour and 15 minutes. We asked about the bar, and after about five minutes, two seats opened up. We ordered the Dinghy chowder sampler so we could try three different chowders. We came for the clam chowder. I thought the flavor was good, although the texture was a little different for me. The biggest disappointment was the regular clam chowder. We don't eat bacon, and they told us the bacon could not be left out. Since clam chowder was the main reason we came, that really took away from the experience. A few minutes after we ordered, a couple sitting next to us at the bar asked the same question we did: "Is there bacon in the award-winning clam chowder?" When the server said yes, they said, "Okay, never mind. We don't want that." So we weren't the only ones asking. We ended up having the lobster chowder. Overall, 3 out of 5. The experience was okay, but because we couldn't really try the clam chowder we came for, we don't plan to come back.

Staff were ready to answer questions, and had a lot of good energy when serving orders to me and their other customers. I split with two others in my group the sampler, which consists of two pieces each of fried cod, oyster and shrimp, all on top of a bed of French fries. The tempura batter for all three came apart a little too easily, though it was even more so with the fried cod, as it was hard to use a spoon and fork to scoop up the easily broken pieces. Shrimp and oyster were both really good and not too salty on their own. French fries were also really filling, and were very fresh - they were on the verge of being too salty. Overall portion was relatively big and all three of us got full from splitting this.

I tried their geoduck clam chowder and Caesar salad and both were delicious. My husband and son got the fish and chips. They both loved it. It has such a lush, cozy atmosphere with greenery all around--you almost feel like you're dining in a little jungle. I ordered the burger. The first bite was delicious because all the toppings and flavors inside work so well together. However, the beef itself wasn't my favorite--it was quite fatty and didn't have that clean, high-quality beef taste I usually look for in a burger. I also ordered a virgin Bloody Mary, but unfortunately that wasn't for me either. It was very thick and tasted a little too much like straight tomato sauce rather than a refreshing, balanced Bloody Mary. My husband really enjoyed the oysters, while our daughter wasn't in the mood for a full meal, so we kept it simple with fries and fresh fruit for her. Overall, the beautiful patio, welcoming service, and relaxed Sunday atmosphere made it an enjoyable lunch. I'd definitely come back for the vibe and hospitality, but next time I'd explore some different items on the menu.
