Came here after a walk with a girlfriend to celebrate before Thanksgiving week. We shared the chorizo omelet and it was very flavorful and a ton of food. Love this place. We often walk over for breakfast with our dog. We sit outside on the comfy patio & Cosmo loves it there too. We bring our out of town guests there each time we have visitors as well. When you live near the beach, you get a lot of visitors so it's wonderful to have a neighborhood cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. Some of our favorites are the chilaquiles, Denver omelette, BLTA, steak sandwich. Our friends' kids really enjoy the kids menu and it keeps them occupied while the adults eat. I personally love the fries there so I get sandwiches while everyone usually orders breakfast. Once in a while, I get the chorizo burrito and it's so good and yummy. The salsa has a nice kick but is not too spicy. I can only eat half and then take the other half home and when reheated, it's still so good. The lattes and regular coffee are strong yet smooth just as they should be. We enjoy all their baked goods too. My husband really likes the cinnamon roll and almond croissant. Lastly, I appreciate the cozy yet chic decor with fresh flowers on the tables. What a cute touch. I'm writing this review as it is long overdue. We are on our way to brunch there in half an hour. So lucky to be able to try the new Sunny Side Cafe in Seal Beach! The food is amazing, you can really tell that the finest and fresh ingredients were used. My party ordered the tomato soup, chilaquiles, and Greek salad with shrimp. It's hard to chose a favorite because all were mouthwatering. The cappuccino, vanilla latte, & fresh squeeze OJ was perfect as well. The ambiance and overall look of the restaurant is cute, fresh, and family oriented. Arguably the best breakfast I've ever had. The food was just packed with so much flavor. My youngest ordered the mini moon chocolate chip pancakes. I had the Popeye omelet and the overnight oats. The food was served up with a warm smile, and the overall vibe was relaxing and chill. read more

I went there today after they replaced Dennys last year. The new restaurant is much better but a limited menu until 2 PM for breakfast and lunch. The food was excellent and the place was very clean and new. Very busy but plenty of help there. My attendant kept my water filled . Had a special for two eggs, a waffle and two sausages for $16 . For some reason I had heard middling reviews of the place but a friend and I checked it out this week. Wow! We were so impressed with the service, the quality of the food, everything. I had the Overnight Oats, which I couldn't even finish. It was piled high with fruit and a perfect dollop of almond butter. My friend had the Morning Bird sandwich and it was huge! Spotted this place when I needed to visit Quest. My husband and I decided to give it a try. Sunny Side Cafe is newly opened with very polished atmosphere. One of the first things we noted was how well staffed it was! We were warmly greeted by the staff and quickly seated. Everything ran so smoothy and the service was great from the get go. The food was honestly amazing. My husband ordered a vanilla latte and the chilaquies. Both were very good but the chilaquies were the show stealer for sure! Loved the salsa Verde and fetta. I ordered the Country Fried Chicken- that came with sausage gravy & biscuits, eggs, and delicious potatoes O'Brian. Eggs were cooked perfect to our order. Frankly, everything was amazing. The one note I did make to the owner when asked was that the sausage gravy recipe could use some fine tuning. I also ordered a slice of the house made key lime pie and it was fantastic! A great addition to the city of Seal Beach! Let me tell you all that I was worried such an establishment couldn't survive because its location. However, I went for morning rush and I was happy to see so many people visiting a new business. I had the morning bird sandwich. While its as not as big as I hoped(because I was hungry) it was very delicious! I had a side of fries. The fries weren't the best unfortunately. The wait to sit down during the morning rush was about ten minutes. We waited for our food for almost twenty minutes. When youre hungry this can feel like an eternity. The staff was friendly and doing the best job they could with the packed house. Overall, good experience. I would like to come back and try something else. I kid you not when I say this place was FANTASTIC. Living nearby, I've been waiting for this place to finally open and today was the big day, so I knew I had to go!! Walking in right away, you're hit with the cutest aesthetic and friendly staff. The menu is limited to a couple pages, but I feel that everything would've been a good choice; it all sounded so good. I came starving and ended up choosing the avocado toast, chilaquiles, and overnight oats. Avocado toast: The bread was thick and crunchy, bacon was crispy, and egg was perfectly poached. Avocado could've been thicker, but that's okay. Chilaquiles: Not traditional, chips are not fried in the salsa verde so they stayed crispy (which I actually liked better!) so they are basically breakfast nachos. Salsa was amazing, I could drink the stuff. Overnight oats: Good! They are served chilled and have chia seeds mixed in, which is a nice touch. I like all the fruit on top too. It was not super sweet and was very filling. A nice thing to grab on the go I think. Coffee (no picture): I got a latte and it was so cute with a design. They have a big fancy machine, so I just knew it would be good. I was not disappointed! Wish I got some OJ to go with it - next time! Overall: The ambience for the place is great, everything looks like it was picked with care. There is lots of parking outside and even more seating inside. Just saw an INORANT review here and Just couldn't help myself. I had to respond. My dad's 99 and golfs 3 times a week with his girlfriend. My wife and I just love coming down here every Sunday to visit with him. Of course we just have to make Sunnyside Cafe our norm. It's always extremely busy but I mean...farm fresh eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice, and Katrina puts her special care on everything else as well. I usually don't eat pancakes but this time I got blueberry pancakes and you could tell they were cooked in butter because the edges were so crispy, the blueberries were fresh not some sugary jam. EVERYTHING is always perfect. I usually get the extra rich tomato basel soup and half tuna sandwich. The tuna is so fresh. Why do I need to say that, everything is fresh; jams, salad dressings, etc., I don't think they know what a microwave oven is as any good restaurant wouldn't. Anyway I saw that response and that's just not a foodie person. So I hope this counters it a little bit with this honest response. Way to go Katrin!
