Great spot to stop off the highway or through interurban. Usu I get the yakisoba and I was a little disappointed today that the sauce or treatment was not as rich and sweet as usual. I hope they don't change that recipe because it was what made the yakisoba so unique here. Spouse got the beef teriyaki which was very good. Jiaozi/potstickers are also a winner. Staff was friendly. Walked in and placed an order to-go. I sat down and waited less than 5 minutes and the food was ready. I figured it would be since chicken teriyaki is their main order. Like most places, the chicken was cooked and ready and just needed to be chopped, boxed and sauced. It was a little before noon and inside was already packed with people dining in. Taste was good, nothing to be excited about. It does the job if you're just craving for teriyaki. Portions are exceptional. Even the salad dressing was decent and not the watered down version. I do find it to be pretty darn pricey. After tax it was $16.46 and then whatever additional if you decide to leave a tip. I feel reluctant to provide a tip on to-go orders, but then I think about my friends and kids who work in the food industry and silently roll my eyes and tip anyway. So, in the end I ended up paying $18.93 for just an order of chicken teriyaki. There are several parking stalls, but the lot is pretty tight! Had ordered to-go, beef teriyaki. They've handed me the day (or days) old box. Beef was tasteless, dry and they had tried to hide with drenching with teriyaki sauce. Even the rice was dried up and not the usual glistening freshly cooked rice. Stay away from their yakisoba noodles. It seemed like I had ordered noodle soup, as in soup=oil. I had been craving yakisoba like CRAZY and I saw that Sunny Teriyaki was like a five minute drive from my house - and four stars, woot woot! The first thing I noticed when we were walking up to the restaurant was the "Needs To Improve" status from the health department.... Yikes? The restaurant on the inside is very clean and is super inviting, so it makes me wonder what's going on inside the kitchen itself. We just ordered pick up, and it was ready to go by the time we got there. Service was friendly. My boyfriend got a combo with General Tsao Chicken & Chicken Teriyaki. I got the Chicken Yakisoba. My boyfriend's General Tsao had great flavor, but the breading/outside of it weirded me out. The breading almost felt soft & fuzzy opposed to crunchy... But it was still good. As for the chicken yakisoba - I've had better. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. customer service is always great here but food is not good. I recently got just chicken teriyaki and it was so dry and tough to chew. the texture I'll describe is they brine, air dry chicken and grill..which turn into chicken jerky. And why is teriyaki sauce here taste super salty like it's only soy sauce. I don't think I'll return until they master moisture in chicken. read more

I found Sunny Teriyaki through Yelp, and it was a great find! I had been outside a lot of the day and the rain was pretty intense. Tempura udon weather if you ask me!! I searched for udon nearby for dinner, and Sunny came up. Drove there with my wife and we were surprised by how modern and trendy the interior of this restaurant was! Wood paneling in cold hues, beautiful art on the walls, dark wooden tables with orchids by the condiments... sure the orchids were fake, but they still added to the charm of this place. I literally felt like I was in a teriyaki shop in a nice apartment building in downtown Seattle. My wife ordered chicken teriyaki and I got tempura udon. Both were until $9, so fair pricing for dinner. My wife's teriyaki came out first. There was a big ball of rice, a nicely sized salad, and at least 3 chicken thighs. Great portions! My tempura udon was delicious. The breading on the vegetables was thick and crispy. There was only one slice of each veggie: zucchini, onion, potato, carrot, and one shrimp. I definitely would have preferred paying a dollar or two more to get more tempura. The soup itself was well seasoned, and the noodle portion was good. I'm sure we will be back. read more

Definitely a great place for teriyaki. Since I'm diabetic, I usually order the Spicy Teriyaki with brown rice and a side order of Gyozas.

I read the reviews for this place-that the food was good and so I decided to give it a try, but I was really disappointed I ordered a combination plate of beef ribs and chicken. the beef was spot on although it was a little over marinated and then the chicken was very dry, it almost tasted double cooked I would choose another place if you're looking for teriyaki chicken. read more

TLDR: Good quantity/value, quick service, but FOUND ICE in food (salad). Sunny Teriyaki has gotten a facelift since then last time I visited - new paint job, bar counters with comfy black bar stools, plant decor, and a TV showing sports. The place is also air conditioned and had pretty good ventilation. Honestly, it's a good spot for a lunch break. The food is decent. I had the Chicken and Katsu (#17), which comes with rice and a side salad. The food tasted pretty average, but what is really good are the quantities! Sunny Teriyaki is definitely not stingy when it comes to chicken portions; I was certainly satisfied with my meal. Service was respectful and fast (less than 7mins before takeout). I had to take one star off because I found several ice cubes in my side salad. While it kept my salad chilly on a hot day, it's definitely unacceptable. If this happens again in the future, I'll revise my rating accordingly. Aside from "ice-gate," Sunny Teriyaki is one of the better Teriyaki restaurants I've been to and I recommend checking it out.
