    Chicken & Ribs Teriyaki

Quiet hole in the wall in Tukwila. I called in my food and when I got there is ready. Their staffs is very nice. Food is ready when I got there. I had to take away 1 stars for the place because there is barely any teriyaki sauce. The ribs taste good but there is more bones than meat.

First time in, upon arrival OKAY rating posted at door by health department always gives me pause. Arrived just after 11am on a Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend, busy inside at tables, no line and greeted with super friendly and quick service. Ordered the beef yakisoba and was ok, also ordered the chicken Danbury (sp?) and was good! The Danbury was all the veggies and protein over white rice. Would definitely order again and skip the rice personally shooting for less carbs. Also ordered the gyoza appetizer, they were good.

Staff was friendly. Walked in and placed an order to-go. I sat down and waited less than 5 minutes and the food was ready. I figured it would be since chicken teriyaki is their main order. Like most places, the chicken was cooked and ready and just needed to be chopped, boxed and sauced. It was a little before noon and inside was already packed with people dining in. Taste was good, nothing to be excited about. It does the job if you're just craving for teriyaki. Portions are exceptional. Even the salad dressing was decent and not the watered down version. I do find it to be pretty darn pricey. After tax it was $16.46 and then whatever additional if you decide to leave a tip. I feel reluctant to provide a tip on to-go orders, but then I think about my friends and kids who work in the food industry and silently roll my eyes and tip anyway. So, in the end I ended up paying $18.93 for just an order of chicken teriyaki. There are several parking stalls, but the lot is pretty tight! There are other businesses all around and they share the same lot.

I had been craving yakisoba like CRAZY and I saw that Sunny Teriyaki was like a five minute drive from my house - and four stars, woot woot! The first thing I noticed when we were walking up to the restaurant was the "Needs To Improve" status from the health department.... Yikes? The restaurant on the inside is very clean and is super inviting, so it makes me wonder what's going on inside the kitchen itself. We just ordered pick up, and it was ready to go by the time we got there. Service was friendly. My boyfriend got a combo with General Tsao Chicken & Chicken Teriyaki. I got the Chicken Yakisoba. My boyfriend's General Tsao had great flavor, but the breading/outside of it weirded me out. The breading almost felt soft & fuzzy opposed to crunchy... But it was still good. As for the chicken yakisoba - I've had better. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. I'm glad that I tried it but I don't think I'd come back before trying other teriyaki joints in the area.

Overcooked dried up salmon, with no teriyaki sauce. Did not receive my side salad either

In the photo, this is what I received, a overcooked, dried salmon, with no teriyaki sauce in with my order. I ordered the teriyaki salmon. Go figure? I also was supposed to get a side salad, which I did not receive as well. I did not check the order because a friend had picked up for me. This use to be my favorite place.

Good service, reasonable price, quick service. Chicken was good and tender. A person with my group ordered the chicken breast teriyaki and that seemed to take little longer to get. Update: I hate to report that there was a hair in my food. My rating is still 5 starts because 1) accidents happen, and 2) they resolved it very quickly and without incident.

Definitely a great place for teriyaki. Since I'm diabetic, I usually order the Spicy Teriyaki with brown rice and a side order of Gyozas.

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

The chewy bounciness at my favorite Japanese locations is almost physics-defying. The texture is simply divine. In comparison, this mouth feel is a cheap knock-off. The broth is not bad. The dashi is not as satisfying, but this was drinkable without being bland or too oily. I was more impressed by the fried sides. The giant potato croquette was excellent. The level of crisp and mushiness of the inside was on-point. The chicken was also nicely crispy and juicy. Of course, the fact that it was dark meat automatically gave it a head start over a lot of American fried chicken filets. The zucchini was good. The pumpkin was a bit dried out, but I think that was partly because I ate it last. Overall, this is quite authentic, from the way the noodles are prepared, to the way customers self-serve the sides. They even have a tray return. There are certain Japanese main-stays that I wanted to see, which are missing. Like, some kind of fish in the tempura line would've been nice. One of the biggest localizations is probably the veggie udon, which is violently un-Japanese looking with its carrots and broccoli and would certainly ruin the mouth feel of a smooth bowl of udon. If there's one plant root you want in an authentic veggie sanuki udon, I'd argue it should be grated daikon radish, which I don't think they have. But well, having too many unfamiliar things might be off-putting. That grated ginger at the end is already dangerous enough lol.

I don't like spicy tuna that is poke style or large chunks. I appreciate the updated style for the spicy tuna crispy rice which is my favorite thing to get. They also have baked rolls. Rolls can be a bit pricy but the quality is good. I had been driving 30 min out of Renton for good sushi so I'm glad I tried this place again. One baked roll I cannot find up here in WA is called Japanese Lasagna, which is a baked California roll with a cream cheese topping melted on top with eel sauce. They have a similar roll with salmon I think and it's pretty good I just prefer the cream cheese topping only without fish. Adding this request here and hoping they can offer it as a special.
