This was my first visit to Sunny's, and I have to admit I was a little hesitant at first. Since they don't take weekend reservations or have a waitlist, I was worried about getting a table for my large group to celebrate my birthday. I had been told to arrive 2-3 hours early, but we arrived about an hour and a half before we wanted to eat, and they were able to seat us within that time. Berkeley, the host who greeted us, was attentive, welcoming, and professional. From the moment we arrived, I felt like we were in good hands. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I loved the yellow buggy outside, and the duck décor inside is such a unique touch. The flowers and lemon tree create a bright, inviting atmosphere. It was definitely busy and a bit loud, but we were seated in a booth where everyone could comfortably talk and enjoy each other's company. Our group ordered a variety of appetizers, brunch dishes, drinks, and dessert, and every single item was excellent. We started with the feta avocado appetizer, French toast, grilled cheese sandwich, and the Mediterranean plate. For my entrée, I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were absolutely fantastic. I especially loved all of the flavorful sauces. I also enjoyed both the espresso martini and the limoncello drink. Everyone in my party commented on how much they enjoyed their meals as well. Our server, Addie, was outstanding. She was professional, attentive, and checked on us frequently to make sure everything was perfect. She also made sure I felt celebrated on my birthday, which I really appreciated. To top it all off, they surprised me with chocolate gelato for dessert, and it was absolutely delicious. Overall, I had an amazing first experience at Sunny's. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend it for brunch or a special celebration!

First time trying Sunny's at The RIM, and it was a great experience! The service was great, and the restaurant itself was absolutely adorable inside and out. I loved the decor, the atmosphere, and the overall vibes. They also offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. The coffees we ordered were just okay--not bad, but nothing particularly stood out on the ones we picked. The food, however, was delicious! Do yourself a favor and start with the avocado crostini--it was absolutely delicious . The entrée portions were generous, and everything we tried was flavorful. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving Sunny's a try. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and tasty food make it well worth the visit! French toast dippers Avocado Crostinis Ham & Gruyère crepe with breakfast potatoes Monte Cristo Bagel Hot tiramisu latte and iced Dubai latte

Berry pancake stack = three light pancakes with layers of fresh cream, blueberries, and strawberries! So yummy!!!

I was delightfully surprised by our trip to Sunny's. I had a watermelon lime juice that was super refreshing. I had the berries and cream stack and it was delicious! Fresh berries, light and tasty pancakes, and just enough cream! I will be ordering it again!! The service was great-everyone was so upbeat and helpful. It was bright and sunshiny, with white roses overhead and a lemon tree in the middle. Overall it was a fresh and inviting vibe. Highly recommend for a fun girls brunch. They had a mimosa tower for that very reason!

You can get on the waitlist online or make reservations for some days of the week. This is highly recommended right now. The wait can be from 30 to 50 minutes. They do have outside seating, but it is not very shaded so it will be hot. They also have bar seating I tried the frozen aperol spritz. I don't know if it sat for a while or if it's supposed to be like that, but it was only half frozen. We shared the Parmesan fries. The portion was big, the amount of Parmesan on them was just what I needed and the garlic aioli was the cherry on top. For my meal, I had the whipped feta and egg toast. It came with a portion of beet hummus and arugula salad. My eggs were perfectly cooked over medium. It also has fresh avocado. The restaurants is esthetically pleasing. It's definitely a girl brunch kind of place. For being super busy, I feel like service was quick and our waiter was always around. Parking is available behind the restaurant and in the garage across the street from it. You will more than likely have to take a short walk to it.

This was our first time at Sunny's and it was so good!! we had the crème brûlée French toast, Texas Benny, and tiramisu iced coffee all spectacular! The ambience and outside patio area is so beautiful and well decorated. Feels like you're at a cute resort. Service was great, and I highly recommend!

The champagne tower was absolutely delicious with the variety of juices they have available. The restaurant was a bit cramped but I can understand given the delicious food. The atmosphere was absolutely adorable and our server was extremely attentive and helpful when it came to our menu selection of meals

Ambiance is amazing.... The food is extremely overpriced for what you're given and not flavorful and to have to wait 1 1/2 hours is totally not worth it. We got Parmesan fries for $9.99, hardly any Parmesan on them. Adding on: After our appetizer, we received our food and my husband had a piece of glass in his entree. We're grateful he caught it thinking it was an egg shell but it was clearly a piece of glass. The restaurant manager was shocked and apologetic. Asked if we wanted something else however, after seeing that the appetite was just not there. He did offer us a gift card for a future visit which we denied of course. I am hoping they can get it together starting with the no glass near the food, the wait time and then the food flavoring.

People waiting for a table but stood around tables of people eating. Not comfortable for the people eating.

So finally went to Sunny's at the Rim today, with Neil. It was really cute, the food was ok, the server was sweet. However their timing in the kitchen was awful. Neil received his entree, appetizer and latte before I received my entree. I think it may have been 15 minutes before I was served my entree. When I finally was brought my latte there was lipstick on the coffee mug. I am pretty patient, since I was in the restaurant business before and I was in no rush. I would probably go back but hope that the kitchen will get their timing managed. Oh one last thing, they need to have a space for the customers waiting. A large party was waiting to be seated, they didn't have a reservation and they stood inside the restaurant next to tables of customers that were eating, not comfortable for the customers eating. I believe its the last picture I posted.

I heard about the new opening so tried waiting maybe 2 weeks til they opened after (i don't know when the opened). I added me and my boyfriend to the waitlist and it didn't take too long maybe an hour (we were getting off work so it worked out perfect) Service is good the waitress we had was super nice ! she dealt with another mean customer and handled it well. our food was brought out fast. we ordered the french toast dippers (i think it's called that) for a starter and I had their brunch bowl. I'll put photos (i forgot to take some but i was eating midway). Food was delicious! they use a type of jam for you to dip your french toast sticks in and it was sooo yummy. I guess only 4 stars because of the wait time to sit down. but it's a new restaurant in a crowded city so i understand ! other than those an amazing experience and would definitely go again!

Atmosphere amazing! Food tasty and came to the table quickly! The service was great! The only one recommendation, better waitlist process, we waited 2 hours for a table, we did walk around the Rim while waiting (but quickly seated once we brought it to their attention)

Not impressed. Hostess sat us at smallest table in spite the of there being plenty of other seating g options. No menus. Menu only available with QR code. This is a problem as I don't like having to read a menu in my phone. I ordered the Sunny Sampler. My dish was served in a timely manner but it was cold. Eggs cold, potatoes slightly warm, bacon room temp, sausages cold. I asked server to take it away and enjoyed my coffee instead. Sadly only apology came from server. On duty supervisor no where to be found. Server mentioned that plate would be taken off my check. Well let's hope so since I didn't eat. I won't be coming here again.

    Chilaquiles....so good!!! Not too spicy!!!

Had John at the bar with my friend for after hours on Friday night and service was great . Had the shrimp and the truffle fries with two cocktails . Cocktails were great and truffle fries were well. Shrimp just lacked the flavor and the sauce was a bit off putting.

Grilled cheese and dip , Chilaquiles, watermelon/lime champagne

We walked in without a reservation, and I really appreciate that they were able to accommodate us with outdoor seating. The patio had a fun, upbeat atmosphere and was a great place to spend the evening. The drinks were generally very well made, once they were prepared correctly. The food, however, was just okay. I had the cheeseburger with an egg, and while it was decent, it wasn't particularly memorable. The standout was definitely the fries, especially paired with the spicy ketchup. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the service. Since we were seated outside, it felt like our table was forgotten. We sat for at least 15 minutes without proper plates, napkins, or silverware and had to ask multiple times before everyone was taken care of. We never had enough water glasses for the entire table, drink service was slow throughout the meal, and at one point I walked to the bar myself because my Old Fashioned had been made with agave and was far too sweet. I also had to track down our server just to get the check. Overall, I appreciate that they accommodated a large walk-in party, and the atmosphere and drinks were enjoyable. However, the combination of mediocre food and inattentive service left us disappointed. I don't think I'd return, as it felt like our table was simply forgotten once we were seated outside.

Little did she realize we are from the Texas panhandle. We know our beef and we know exactly what the meat is supposed to look like on the inside after cooking. in actuality she need to confirm this very question with the cook because the steak came out with NO pink whatsoever inside. none. zilch. nada. can you say overcooked? we did discuss it with the waitress and she informed the cook and manager. waitress offered to have re-done but husband declined. it was still edible and quite frankly i would've been done eating before he got his new meal but we did want them to know the cook was overcooking steaks and at the price they charge for them ... you want it cooked right !!! the manager eventually came over to the table. i honestly didn't think she was going to. they did offer up a free dessert. I took it. IT WAS AMAZING. best thing on the menu no doubt. our waitress was amazing and extremely apologetic thru this ordeal.

Valet is complimentary when dining at the restaurant. That is particularly helpful in this cold weather. When we entered the restaurant the dining area was empty. There were a few patrons at the bar but no one at any dining tables. Maybe a sign?? The reviews on Google and Yelp are all over the place. The decor is nice but the seating is a little outdated and worn. I can understand this, though, because I am sure they get a lot of family traffic being a hotel so close to Six Flags. Our waiter, Robert, came right over to take our order. He was friendly and personable. The Restaurant Week menu had two choices for each course, so my friend and I ordered everything so we could try it. First up, the appetizers were poblano and corn soup or heirloom tomato salad with blue cheese. The soup was delicious but was not very hot temperature-wise. The salad is a beautiful idea, but the tomatoes were just bad. They were out of season, mushy, and tasteless. I love tomatoes, so I was disappointed. Next up entrees. My friend had the braised short rib with beans and rice. I had the Redfish with rice and green beans. The short rib was excellent, but it came out at room temperature. Considering we were the only ones there that was a red flag. My fish was seasoned well, and I enjoyed it, but it was room temperature also. Is there a draft in the kitchen? Other reviews mentioned their food was not hot so it seems like a trend. For the amount you pay, the food should be piping hot when it comes to the table. Finally, we got to dessert. I had the creme Brulee cheesecake and my friend had the campfire dark chocolate torte. The desserts were delicious with no complaints at all. This place has a lot of potential, but there are too many restaurants in San Antonio, so you have to make a positive impact on your customers, so they want to return.
