I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty packed. This location is tucked away in a pretty busy plaza near a high school. I wish that I was serviced via worker rather kiosk when it came to taking my order. I had to wait about ten minutes to order since there were only two kiosks in use. It would've gone by faster if workers were taking orders too. It took me about 15 minutes to get my drink. I ordered the Hokkaido Milk Tea with boba. It was delicious, but the boba was hard and not chewy whatsoever. Maybe I got a bad batch? read more

Being a frequent Sunright customer, stopping by whenever I'm in LA, I've been waiting for them to open in SD and they're finally here! We came for their soft opening around opening time and there was quite a bit of a line, but it moved pretty quickly. We only waited about 15 minutes in line which is not bad for how long it was. We ordered our drinks at the kiosk and didn't wait too long either. I ordered the Sunright Boba Milk Tea which is usually my go-to, and it lives up to the Sunright quality I'm used to. The boba was nice and chewy, and had good flavor. The tea was good as well, it's pretty standard but has good flavor. I forgot to add the cheese foam which I usually get for a nice tang and just ties it all together. Overall, I'm really happy Sunright has finally made it to SD and will definitely be coming back! Now they just need to open one a bit more down south like around Convoy! read more

Heard a lot of good things about this chain from friends in Orange County so wanted to try it out. Came in this morning and there were some people ahead ordering at the kiosk, the guy working asked if I had any questions. He offered some drink suggestions since it was my first time and explained the difference between the types of boba they have. I decided on a sunright boba milk tea and a strawberry frostie. When my drinks were ready he said to let them know if I needed any adjustments to the drink after trying it which was thoughtful. Overall good first experience with polite workers and fast service! Great boba!! The drinks are top notch and it's great to have this popular chain in SD now. However there's definitely things lacking. This location is compact and has no seating, and is bright and cute. There are two screens you can order your drinks at but I'm my opinion they are tedious to use most of the time. So I skipped those and went to the register that was right in the front, but I don't know why the register there even exists because the employees completely ignored me. I stood there and waited and about 3 people ended up ahead of me, which is saying alot because the self order screens take a while for people scroll the menu. There was a bunch of employees, and there was at least two up front that were unoccupied and chatting with the other employees. They saw me and didn't want to take my order. So I went to the screen and picked my order. Thats not something that most people want to do, some prefer ordering at the register, getting a real receipt and not having to put phone # and email in. And that made me feel like the service was really lacking. Don't have the register there if you don't want to use it, and don't ignore customers. read more

I don't usually write yelp reviews but after seeing a previous review I wanted to share my experience. I visited 4/4 around 11:50 to a small crowd forming around the store with the door closed. After reading a note on the door a worker walked up and apologized that they were waiting for a key to unlock the door but that they should be open by 12. They also suggested that I could place an order online and it would be ready for me as soon as they were able to open the door. He was polite so I decided to take his word for it and placed an order for 2 drinks. They were able to get the door open a little after 12 and as promised my drinks were ready. Drink quality is good and the service was quick despite the door issue. read more

I usually give NEW boba places very generous reviews. Especially all the Sunright Tea Studios I visited in the past left me feeling they offer GREAT customer service. Drinks are made right and the shift leader appreciates the customers for coming to the store. Really appreciate this Sunright (PQ) being here in San Diego because we dont have to visit Irvine's Diamond Jamboree for the nearest one, however. My 1* Review is for the customer service I received today. I showed up at ~11:25am hoping to be the first in line. Some people grab coffee and some people grab boba on their work break. When I saw 11:30am on my watch and expected the door to open. The barista came over and told me the owner forgot to unlock the door so the door remains locked. So now they are aiming to open around 12:00pm. It is not the end of the world to open a little late....because I used to be in the food and beverage business. So I would appreciate customers to exercise a little bit of grace even if I am opening a little late. So I asked if there is any way for Sunright to compensate the customer for the loss of time and not able to get what I wanted to order? It is what the staff said to me that really frustrated me. "Well if you order now (11:35am-ish) online it will be ready by 12pm." When I looked for online ordering, toasttab indicated 12:30pm as the next available time slot.... If this is the service customers are receiving, maybe this place should hire robots instead...jk Any kind of beverage or food service places separate themselves by their product and their customer service. I hope the business owner coaches and mentors the staff and the baristas a little bit better on being more amiable and courteous towards their customers especially when Sunright offers such quality drinks. Not sure I will continue supprt this location until their services and operational efficiency improves. P.S I saw from the window the barista dumping strawberries from the box straight into the blender. Hopefully those are washed so customers can enjoy quality ingredient without having to worry about pesticides. read more

disappointing soft open for such a seasoned franchise, but hopefully they will clean it up after some time. they gave us the wrong straws so we couldn't drink our boba until we went to get one at another local boba shop. the mango milk tea barely had any mango flavor. The white peach oolong milk tea wasn't bad, but even though I had 50% sweet, it was still VERY sweet so I'm not sure if I had the right amount of sugar added to the drink. the wait also took at least 45 minutes and we never got the text that it was ready until we went to go in and check ourselves. lots of things to improve on for sure. read more

I've been to Sunright in Irvine and the drink I got here is pretty much the same which is exactly what I was hoping for. Glad we get a Sunright in San Diego now too! Other than that, the place was clean, staff were polite, and they were keeping up with orders well. I didn't have to wait super long after ordering even with about ten people in front of me. No seating so perhaps not the first choice venue for killing time, but the tea is worth it. read more

Super happy Sunright Tea finally came down to SD! Been waiting forever!!! I went around opening time and there wasn't much of a line, so I got my drink pretty quick. It is soft opening, so hopefully the quality of the drinks will improve! I always order the Sunright Fruit Tea and it was pretty accurate. May have been a little extra pulpy, but can be easily fixed! Sunright tends to run on the sweeter side, so beware for those who like less sugar! Will be back for sure! read more

Usually sunright is my go to in the diamond jamboree plaza in Irvine, so I was excited to check this place out on the grand opening date. I expected a longer wait because of the bogo and other deals happening, so the two stars is not in regard to the 3 hours waited. I am forced to give a bad review because it is clear this establishment does not care about hygiene. The workers wear gloves, yet when one of them dropped the yellow towel used to wipe drinks onto the floor, instead of getting a new one, continued to use the now dirtied towel to wipe everyone's drinks. Then in turn, the worker would touch the cup with his glove, dirtying the gloves. This wouldn't bother me as much if the towel did not touch the lid and only touched the cup. However, as I was observing for 10 minutes while waiting, the towel had touched the lid multiple times. The boba was also subpar, as if it had been sitting for a while which is surprising since it was so busy, I'd expect they keep making fresh batches and we had gotten drinks only 2 hours after their opening time. I hope these serious issues with hygiene can be fixed, as I'd prefer my boba tea fix without a side of floor towel. read more
