We stopped at this little coffee place on our way to Waimea Canyon. It's ticked away along a main road and set up in a food truck. There were picnic tables set up throughout the property so there was ample seating for those who wanted to sit and enjoy their food and drinks. There was only one person working there, but she did an awesome job taking and preparing orders. She was also so sweet and friendly! We ordered four drinks and an açaí bowl. My son works at a coffee house in CA and he gave thumbs up for everything we ordered. Definitely go and support this little business when you're in Lihue or just passing through!

$70 for a quick snack but super cute place and tasty!! Açaí bowl was delicious and refreshing! Try the Guava orange juice. Ordered a bagel and a doughnut and both warmed up hot and fresh! Avocado toast was Hula Hula good!!

Loved the variety of options at this little food truck tucked away off the highway. The coffee is a darker roast if that's your vibe. Finding a golden milk latte was a good way to start my day! No maple syrup but they do have honey or vanilla syrup to sweeten it. There's plenty of outdoor seating if you want to stop and stay a while. And the service was outstanding.

Sunrise Cafe is in such a convenient location right off the main road, making it the perfect quick stop. The coffee was absolute perfection, and the açaí bowl was hands down the best one I've had on the island so far. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The vibes at this little truck were perfect relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what you want while enjoying a great breakfast stop.

Stopped by for coffee on Christmas Eve morning bc the place looked so cute when we drove by. I had to get something from the Christmas menu of course. Ordered the candycane latte. The girls begins the counter were super friendly. My coffee was ready quickly and we walked around to check out the place. Would love to have tried more things here. Great vibes. Great aloha. Great coffee and matcha, but not a fan of the location or price . Visited on our way to Kauai Backyard adventures( coffee spot is 2 mins away) for a little pre adventure pick me up. Location is off a busy road and at a curve so keep an eye out or you'll miss it. Cute little coffee trailer with good amount of parking and outside sitting area if you order food and wanna eat or enjoy coffee there. Service was nice but nothing over the top. Iced Caramel vanilla latte and lilikoi match were both tasty and perfect balance of sweetness. Now the price... a little bit crazy, 2 drinks $18 and some change. They charge base price please extra for flavor AND milk of choice. Glad we tried.

This place is definitely my top three coffee stops on the island. The menu is extensive and there's really nothing you can think of that's not on there. Luckily, we were there in September so we got to try their seasonal fall beverages. They have my fave macadamia nut milk instead of regular milk so that's always a treat. I spent the last two years thinking about their avocado toast. And I'm happy to report a taste just as good as it did. It's very generous on the avocado and the seasoning really makes it. The girls in the truck are super nice. Very helpful at explaining the different options and helping you decide which drink to choose. It's a little stop off the road so if you're driving too fast, you might miss it. And be sure to say hi to the kitty cat.

Cute little coffee truck on the side of the road that I passed by multiple times so I had to give it a try. I ordered a specialty latte and was excited to try it but unfortunately it wasn't that great. The service was okay and the place itself was a cute vibe but the coffee didn't do it for me. I'm a huge coffee drinker and have tried a lot of coffee so I am picky when it comes to drinks. Might give them another try and taste something else, maybe it was just a one off.

Very cute coffee stand! I got the banana matcha latte. Great service. Drinks came out quickly. Minus one star because the Kirkland brand oat milk was very overpowering and I couldn't taste much of the matcha.

To the side of the road going to Lihue side. I always get excited to try new coffee, so when I saw they had a s'mores flavor I knew I had to get it. Anyway, we arrived in the morning, had no line no customers waiting. So I stood at the order window. The ladies saw me, but didn't acknowledge or anything. I was ready to give my order, but waited for like 5 mins for them to actually come to the window to take my order. When we finally got our order, the açaí bowl was filled. My daughter really enjoyed the bowl she couldn't finish it. She liked how it didn't have nuts too. The s'mores coffee was eh :/ Wasn't iced enough, not sweet, & mainly milky. I couldn't taste the s'mores flavor at all. It was pricey, spent about $28 for just two items. Service wasn't good. So if I had to come back, it would be for the açaí bowl mainly.

Bagels and coffee hit the spot. Iced Vanilla Macadamia with whipped cream, toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and to my surprise a bagel with cream cheese and pesto. You taste something new everyday! Delicious! Service was efficient and very hospitable. We will visit again before we leave! Just don't blink, you might miss it!

The macadamia nut milk vanilla matcha I had was very good! Not too sweet and the flavors were lovely. We also decided to get a churro donut. Unfortunately, it was not a hit. The dough was quite dense and dry- not really a donut. My girlfriend also said she didn't like it. We know they fry their donuts in coconut oil and we're quite open-minded when it comes to healthy foods and how they taste but this was just too dry. You had to drink something after every bite...

I am a local resident and can't rave enough about this little coffee truck. First and foremost, the coffee here is the best on the island. Before opening this adorable little truck, the owner sat down with a local coffee roaster and created her own personal blend of beans that are now exclusive to her business. I'm in love with it! No generic beans here! An incredible blend of the best beans the island has to offer. The Sunrise Blend! Second, I drive by Sunrise Coffee everyday. It is truly the best part of my day...stopping by to chat with the Sunrise Baristas! I love all the girls here. They treat you like family and always make me feel like I'm the most important customer...each and every time. Thank you Shantel, Kaylie, Nicole and Keane! This is a must stop. Overrated, over priced and underwhelming not to mention the sarcastic lady running the place. Probably in the top 2 the of worsts cups of coffee I've had tbh. I would not recommend on any level if you really have a taste for good coffee. Not really into leaving negative reviews but I will always be honest. read more

The family and I stopped here on the way to a hike and was the perfect place to get great coffee and bagels prior to our outside adventure. Quick, friendly and quality service was our experience. Unless you're entitled, you probably wouldn't appreciate this type of business. read more

We stopped here for coffee a few times. It was so good we kept coming back. We ended up getting iced lattes and açaí bowls. Everything was delicious. The recommended flavors on the specials board are great, homemade whipped cream is delicious. Staff was friendly and quick. The coffee truck was so cute and I loved all the plants around it. read more

I love trying out different acai bowls wherever I go for work. I travel all over the world so I can say I've had my fair share of acai. I ordered the acai bowl and added the extra homemade peanut butter, which was very yummy btw. The acai itself tasted like it was blended with other berries and didn't have any added sweetener, like most other acai places. I think I'm used to the Brazilian style acai that has that little added sweetness to it, maybe from agave or something, and this place didn't have that. I still enjoyed my acai bowl, but be sure to add agave on top of you want a little fruit/sweet/tart balance. Price wasn't too bad. $12 read more

Sunrise Coffee was the perfect stop for our family to grab breakfast after visiting Wailua Falls. We enjoyed the coffee, matcha, acai bowls, and avocado toast. The avocado toast seemed to have more avocado than toast, and was also very well-seasoned. It was convenient that this food truck has a small parking lot (no street parking on the windy road), as well as a shady location with picnic tables. The baristas were friendly and they sold cute merch and stickers. Would definitely return to Sunrise Coffee on our next trip to Kauai. read more

We stopped by Sunrise Coffee and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of yummy goodness and ALOHA spirit. They not only have fantastic coffee drinks that rival any coffee shop around the islands and the mainland, we loved the fresh popsicles made of local fruits. My fav was the dragon fruit -lemonade... talk about farm to table popsicle...in season goodness! We also loved the Affogato - shot of espresso over ice cream - delish! You have got to stop by this local treasure - and get there before closing at 3pm! read more

It was my first stop in Kauai, Sunrise coffee offers a variety of coffees and light breakfast items (such as avocado toast) in a cute food truck. I had a hot 16oz latte and my friend ordered a hot cappuccinos. We both loved our coffees! They are smooth and you can get the nutty note without the bitterness. We tried to go back the next day for coffee before going to the airport but found out they only open to 1pm. (From 7am). read more

I wish I could give this place 5 stars but a simple misunderstanding was blown out of proportion. Generally when you say you would like room for cream/milk you are able to advise how much/pour your amount in. Unbeknownst to me, they would be pouring in the cream heavy without asking. I simply went back up to the counter to ask the woman if I could get my Americano with no cream/milk since I did not want that much and she said she could pour water in it. Later I went back up to buy a new coffee since they were not willing to assist with my original request and heard the women in the truck talking about me to the customer in front of me saying the situation was "tense". Unfortunately this is less than sub par customer service in my opinion. I ended up throwing out my original coffee and spending another $6 to get my original order. All in all, spot is cute and customer service is poor. read more

This cute coffee truck had a great menu of drink options from Matcha, to smoothies, to lattes. You MUST try the coconut latte Iced with coconut milk. It's delectable! My kids also shared the Monkey smoothie with peanut butter and banana and they loved it. Highly recommend this stop on the way to your next stop through Lihue. read more

My nieces and I were in a mish to try different places on Kauai for açaí bowls. Sunrise Coffee came up on a yelp search for açaí bowls in the area. We were on it. The location is pretty convenient as it's located right off of a pretty busy main road in/out of Lihue and at the entrance to a favorite tourist attraction, Wailua Falls. It was too busy when we arrived but there was a large family in front of us. Since there was only one person working, it did take a little while longer, not too much longer, but we weren't in any rush. Looking over their menu, we ordered (2) Everything Açaí bowls ( other choices are Banana and Berry) with peanut butter (additional cost) and an Italian Panini (fresh mozzarella, salami, pesto and tomato). There are other panini options like Turkey Havarti Bacon and Ham Cheddar Provolone. Acai bowl was amazing. Jus the right amount of everything. It was the first time I tried açaí with peanut butter and I like the creamy texture it gave with each bite. Highly recommended. Açaí was tasty, fruits were fresh and had the perfect tart. My niece finished hers before I could finish half of mine.... teenager approved! The panini was sooo good as well. Hot and fresh and the ingredients were all in perfect balance. Super tasty and flavorful. Perfect size for an on the go quick bite between meals or a great portioned meal jus by itself... possibly followed by their great açaí bowl for dessert. Great little place. Friendly service. Plenty of parking. Covered seating area available. Great central location. Highly recommended. read more

We heard they were known for their baked pastries so we ordered a cinnamon roll. Me and my two kids agreed that it was the best cinnamon roll we had ever had in our lives. I enjoyed a macadamia nut vanilla latte and it was fantastic as well! Very friendly and very good. I would highly recommend! read more

I'm giving this four stars and I'm a jerk because I only made one purchase and I got a stinkin' iced java, that's not a fair assessment of a truck slangin' coffee -- although I did try my wife's latte, that was quite fine. It's hot-ish in Kauai, even in December, and I run hot-blooded, so my second day on Kalapaki Beach needed a strong perk, and Sunrise Coffee was the only option open on a Sunday in the vicinity. Wuzzup wit dat? Want a winning business proposition, prospective biz owner on Lihue? Open a cafe by the beach that serves on Sundays. There are masses of pale tourists looking to drop a Lincoln on a latte on the oceanfront. Strange but true, the Marriott resort doesn't have a cafe -- I'd assumed Seattlebucks had swooped in years ago. Nope. This great little coffee truck is parked in a lot adjacent to a terrific local artist shop, you should stop in there while you sip your cup. The (assumed) owner had a kind temperament and my java was buzz-worthy. Pretty sure it was a heavy, dark roast for both cups, I'm more of a medium-to-light guy, but I wasn't complaining. Smart call. read more

I thought the coffee was meh, but I did hear their food is good. I hope to try it sometime soon. I might have ordered the wrong coffee drink - coco choco latte. It was too sweet, and coffee had a slightly burned taste. But, that might have been the flavor from the coconut milk, which I now realize doesn't go that well with coffee. I'd like to give them another try and just try the coffee plain. read more

It was so good I didn't take pictures lol The staff is so flippin nice and friendly plus they give huge portions. There is a small parking lot with a few stray cats that try to bug customers for seafood (and won with us). Definitely swing by this place while visiting!

They have exactly what I was hoping to find somewhere, Disc Golf equipment! Then I find that the store is closed today! This is a shared operation with a Barbecue business and the other half being Disc Golf. Well, it turns out that staffing issues had occurred and the only one staff member there was running the barbecue. Bummer. The Mrs ended up knocking on the closed doors and the proprietor came to see what she wanted. She explained I was hoping for some discs for my son who is an avid player, and as luck would have it, he stopped cooking long enough to help me purchase a couple of discs! Oh man that was so cool, plus he knew his stuff and helped me pick out two top quality discs. I got two drivers. One initial driver and a custom design fairway driver that they designed! At 171 for their custom disc, and 167 gr. for the other, these two will be seeing some use when we hit the mainland. While we're doing this, ah, the smell of the food started wafting over, but he was not nearly ready yet to start serving. I appreciate so much how this gentleman went out of his way to help a tourist pick out some gifts, when clearly he needed to be in the other side of the business managing his barbecue. My wife and I were staying very close by, so we made it a point to visit it during our week long stay in Kauai. The concept and beer selection was great, but the food tasted no different from what one would get from a cafeteria. It's important to check their hours when their food is offered, since it differs from their open hours. Currently food hours are 10:30 - 14:30, W-Sa (opening one hour earlier on Saturday). We came on Friday, and walked around the mall until their kitchen opened. It wasn't too busy yet, so was able to order and pay. While waiting, added two cans of alcohol, at which time the food was ready. Brought everything out to the common outdoor tables that can be used for dining. There is a large choice of local beers in cans, and we chose two: Lanikai Brewing Company's Pualani Sour Ale ($6) and Paradise Ciders (Honolulu HI)'s Lei'd Back Lilikoi ($3.50). Both were good, and would absolutely use this store to buy local beers to take back home in the future. Both of us love brisket, so got the brisket sandwich a la carte for $18.99, and added a side of cole slaw ($3) and Mac Salad ($3). It was a medium sandwich to begin with (used a hoagie type soft bun), but with so much bbq sauce mixed with the chopped brisket, it became more of a bbq sauce sandwich. The sauce itself was good, and the chopped brisked seemed OK, but the ratio was way off. The sides were OK with small portions. For $24.99, should have gotten better...even in a tourist area of Hawaii.

Just updating to laugh about the time and energy the owner puts in to arguing with the customers and telling them their experiences aren't real lol. Always a red flag for a business when this is how owners respond. I'd recommend they calm down and just own up to the bad experiences. It takes 10 seconds to just say, oh wow, we are so sorry you had that experience, it's not typical for us so please come give another try next time you're in town. Instead, you look like a dick and you actually look insane, and if I were a new customer looking where to go and saw responses like this, I'd avoid it. Just so you know read more

Sunrise Coffee is a fantastic spot! I had a latte with oat milk, and it was absolutely perfect - smooth, creamy, and full of flavour. The highlight of our visit was meeting their adorable resident cat, Rosie, who added such a charming touch to the experience. Coffee is extremely delicious. They have açaí bowls, home made pastries, and such an cute atmosphere. The girls working are very friendly and sweet. Just off the highway it was perfect before and after our hike down by the falls. They have a cute kids table and local music playing outside. Definitely worth pulling over !!! I had a wonderful experience at Sunrise Coffee! The avocado toast was absolutely amazing - fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The macadamia nut latte was absolutely delicious!
