    Sunset grill Chopped Sunset Salad*
    Ada S.

We have been trying to eat here for a while upon a recommendation of how great their Sunset Grill salad was. I couldn't wait to try it. We tried coming Friday night and they were packed. We are not drinkers so we decided to return on a Saturday at 5pm. It wasn't too busy. We were seated quickly. Our server Maeve was very attentive and nice. I liked that the salad was chopped and everything was about the same size. Except when I ran into a big piece of lettuce core. I felt the salad was ok. I am not sure what I was expecting but it did not wow me. The place is super nice. They have live music and nice tropical lighting environment. My husband had the patty melt and said it was alright. The place did not wow us. However it was a nice experience. I ended up not completing my salad but took it to go.

I went to meet with my financial advisor and she suggested this place. I figured just another dull, south OP chow hall. But I was wrong... I was greeted at the host's stand by a nice young man who greeted me with enthusiasm, which is becoming a lost art. He took me to a table, asked me if I need anything before the waitress showed up , but I said I was good. Less than a minute later, she showed up. Throughout the meal, her service was great, and she also made small talk with me and the lady I was having dinner with. When the meal came, she made sure we had any extras we might need and then left us alone. After dinner, she cleared away the plates and gave us a dessert menu. The cake that we shared was delicious. We both had wedge salad with blackened chicken, which were really good. even the ambience of the place was really good. I've talked to a few friends who said that the owner does a great job of hiring people and the kids that I had contact with at the restaurant. We're all helpful, courteous and smiling. This is what makes a great dining experience. I'm gonna add this place to one of my regular stops, it's good to support restaurants that care about customers.

Visiting Overland Park for the first time, my boyfriend is from here and wanted to show me this spot! The Southwest Tortilla Salad & Pineapple Stoli-Oli's drink were great! The service was nice and prompt. There was live music playing and was a fun vibe!

Quick and convenient restaurant with service that's always more impressive than the food. They have a pretty good variety of sandwiches, salad, and other classic options with some islandy and Tex Mex flavors scattered throughout the menu. I got a half sandwich and salad that tasted pretty good, but the sandwich was about four bites and was more expensive than one would expect for a meal like that. The theme inside does provide a light tropical feel, but isn't that notable. All around solid restaurant that you can count on in a pinch, but not one I'd seek out to visit.

Amazing food and a good atmosphere. Best chicken I have ever had. Overall very classy food, but not over done up at a reasonable price.

Our table was right at the junction next to the waiter station where they entered the orders. Which wasn't terrible but some of the staff had a tendency to yell toward the back of the restaurant standing there over our table, which got a bit much by the end of our meal. Also, the HVAC was exceptionally loud and kind of whistled. I mean, we appreciate A/C, don't get me wrong, but by the time you have the upbeat music, the yelling, and the loud HVAC we were ready for some sensory deprivation by the time it was all over. Those tornado fries (probably referring to them by the wrong name) were fantastic. So good! The sandwich was good, not great, nothing particularly wrong with it either. The price was great for sure. The nachos put on quite a show, they come out stacked to the clouds, but once you start digging in, you realize there's way, way, way more chips than toppings and just kind of sad. Things tasted great, but just give me less chips so I can actually taste the cheese and stuff. Then, at the bottom of the mountain was a heap of cheese that you couldn't get to at all until you dig clear to the bottom. We'll be back I'm sure. Maybe will consider takeout instead of dine in, but there's more things we do want to try.

At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours). Not only do you try to get your best score, there is a leaderboard to show how you are doing against the other teams in the building. You can earn a prize if you obtain a certain minimum score, or win against the other groups. Other than the boys arguing over strategies, we had a good time. Even with young kids, we were able to complete a lot of the rooms. There are plenty of rooms that could be completed by those with physical limitations, but obviously not all of them. We had a good time and the time flew by. There is also a bar and restaurant and a few games to play after your time is up. We had a blast and would definitely return again! , with live leaderboards tracking everyone in the building. You can read more about the activities or book your session on
