Well first off Sunset is definitely a tourist trap in the Keys. It has one of the best sunsets in the area! So, what's next? It is also home of horrible service and mediocre food. The drinks are pretty even with the souvenir glasses. Sorry, but any reviews raving about great food here I'm going to question about Covid because they have no taste! I have given several attempts, talked to managers, suggested a consultant. I guess as long as tourist are flowing thru it's a screw the rest mentality. The pool views can be nice but not when trying to choke down overcooked doughy (conch) fritters. I use that loosely because i could've found more conch over the side in the water! servers are inattentive and gossiping about who got locked up. I DON'T CARE! Can I get food as warm as my drink. So, other than watching a sunset along the 7 Mile Bridge, there are better places to go. The service was lackluster, at best, and the food was cold. This restaurant is fabulous inside and out. A true indoor / outdoor experience as they have both seating readily available, with lots of options to choose from. From the poolside to the beach area to the main indoor area, which is actually just covered as you have full access to the nice breezes and ocean views. We went to the Sunday BBQ and it was delicious. Wonderful and nice staff, everything we tried was very good. We would suggest anything from the grill and the happy hour specials were great. Lots of little kids playing, which we were surprised to find it so kid friendly. Lovely to see all the happy faces enjoying this great place. Four of us came here about an hour before closing so we sat at the upstairs bar. Our server, Steven was by himself and we could tell he was trying to not drown with all orders from the people coming in after us. He kept his cool and did an amazing job taking drink and food orders. Kudos to the young man! The food was good, not great but then again we came late. The drinks were strong, the cheeseburger in paradise was really good, and the raw shellfish could have been fresher (note: seafood should taste like a clean ocean). The place was nice and had great ambiance but the service was slow. Taking in consideration that we were there at its busiest however when things died down, it was still slow. Nice views. That is the only "nice" thing about it. I do believe we have never encountered such rude, lazy, inattentive wait staff at an establishment. We had a party of 6 and just trying to get a drink was like pulling cactus needles from a porcupine. I've had the pleasure of dining at many restaurants in the Keys. This was not one of them. Been looking forward to trying this place for 3+ years after getting recommended it. Start to finish it was a very disappointing experience. I expected a NICE, well cooked seafood meal and not only was the atmosphere very much a turn off with kids and underdressed people treating it like an amusement park instead of a nice dinner spot!! Ordered a broiled seafood meal, shrimp and grits, and a bowl of she crab soup.. soup didn't come out til after our main course was finished, and both main courses were EXTREMELY bland and overcooked. Fantastic view of the sunset and a really nice ambience. Our server,Alex, was very attentive. My Mother has food allergies (gluten, soy, onion, and garlic). They were able to make a wonderful steak. This place was easily the most disappointing dining experience from my visit to Florida's Keys. Truly it's difficult to say what the greater disappointment was; the food the service or maybe the midges ( no see ups) chewing our legs under the table. If a restaurant/bar was forced to rely on repeat business this place would have been OOB within weeks of opening. Sadly they have learned to provide a poor dining/ drinking experience by creating a dynamic visual Keys type setting. I think they are probably decent folks making a living out of this place and I don't want to see them disadvantaged by an honest review. What a great place to go for late dinner with family and friends to eat and watch sunset. Expansive outdoor area with pool and games. Very kid friendly and looked dog friendly as well. Giant tiki bar with 15 or more island drink concoctions. I had read some iffy reviews on the food but that most have been an off night for kitchen all of our guests thoroughly enjoyed their appetizers and entrees. The raw oysters and tuna poke were great. Hogfish entrees are a great choice. Local fish to Keys. Of course get a Key Lime Pie to share for desert. read more

Let me just say this delicately. Yelp censored my review. Here are the facts. We sat in a place that had a nice view. We did not have many people. We had quite a few vacant seats at the table. Later, a larger party came in. We were forced to move because apparently the waitress wanted a bigger tip or whatever. The food is not good from what I remember. Not sure why the low rating here! We found this place to be perfect for our toddler son on a rainy night. Vast menu with a little bit of everything and long list of alcoholic beverages. Our server was wonderful although unfortunately I didn't catch her name. This place was busy but was able to seat us in no time. I had the ribeye with the stacked loaded potatoes. Those potatoes were amazing and made this pregnant girl very happy! My husband had the short rib ravioli which he's still talking about two days later. My son enjoyed the creamy Mac & Cheese! Mediocre at best. The atmosphere is nice; relaxed and outdoor seating. Food was just not good. Our group ordered: 7 mile lobster bites -- tasted like frozen chicken tenders. SOO breaded & greasy. No hint or taste of lobster. Curry chicken salad [Salad]. The chicken salad itself was okay, but the "salad" was a giant plate of iceberg lettuce, with some baby carrots & cherry tomatoes. Tuna nigiri & miso -- these were good. Fried shrimp entree -- shrimp were truly "lightly dusted" with breading which was appreciated, however they were SO greasy. Overall, a-ok place. We were on our way back from Key West and stopped to look at the 7-mile bridge. There's a little underpass to cross over from there to the Sunset Grille and Raw Bar, although no direct path from the underpass into the restaurant. From what I understand, the restaurant is an extension of the hotel, hence there is a pool? I think it's a bit weird, to be honest, but also mostly because 1) I'm not staying at the hotel and 2) I wasn't prepared for the option to swim and didn't have a swimming suit. It kind of made for a hybrid restaurant & pool combination. Besides the pool, we also have a gorgeous view. Food was generally ok. Service was a bit slow but acceptable. I got a Caesar salad with added fried calamari on top, with a clam chowder. Caesar salad is standard and what I was expecting. Clam chowder, although they say it's "award winning", tasted like it was from the can. Bottom line: if you're starving, this is a good place to stop, especially with the view and the nearby 7-mile bridge. But if you think you can wait longer to go further along the Keys, I'm sure there's better food down the road. read more

Great location! On a pier overlooking the channel. Great place to have drinks and watch the boats, and the sunset. The drinks were great and they give a locals discount so show your FL Monroe County Driver's License. The only food I ever had was the boiled shrimp. They were good but pricey just like everywhere in KW. The service at the bar was awesome, and the other time I came here the waitresses at the tables were good too. We ordered ours to-go and ate in our vehicle because we preferred to (rather than wrangle the dog the whole time we eat). The staff was great and offered options for us to sit outside with our dog. The atmosphere is really relaxing here. We had to hunt down a hostess to get seated. Our waiter was ok, but seemed overwhelmed. The food was good. We had oysters on the half shell. I was surprised they didn't serve them on ice. Especially being we were outside. The sushi was standard. Not special, but still good. Our group (7) went around 7:45pm on a Saturday night. Wait was 40 minutes. While waiting we took stunning pics of the setting sun and enjoyed the evening weather. We had drinks and main courses. Was in the keys with friends for a weekend last month and on our last day needed a place that had the drinks (for the adults) but still had food and fun times (for the kids).. this place COMPLETELY fits the bill! We were a group of about 8 with 2 little girls and we had the best afternoon ever! There was a bit of a wait but the staff was very accommodating and we happily went by the pool area to enjoy the drinks at the bar. Did i mention pool? It's awesome.. and not some little rinky dinky one.. it's huge and fun and very clean. There was also a DJ spinning some great music.. they even have a sandy beach spot with chairs to stretch out and just relax. The food and drinks were great and the prices were very reasonable! At no point were we rushed to get out or give up our table.. can't say enough amazing things about this place! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.. you just can't go wrong! read more

When I confronted him he told me too bad, cursed and threatened to fight. Absolutely the worst customer experience. I escalated to manager and he supported his employees behavior.
