Stop here Saturday night for a quick drink.. asked if they carried my brand drink. She check after making a trip to the back room and said yes even thought she took the bottle down from the counter behind her. She charged me over $15.00 for two simple drinks. I paid the correct amount in cash. She then started complaining , what ! your not going to tip me ! She was trying to say she only works for tips. That's not my problem. I don't tip on every drink. i have gone to this bar a lot over the years, have brought many ppl in. last year during Christmas time i came in, and i ended up passing out because of low blood pressure, at this time help was called from a worker in the bar. This local dive just upped the ante with the opening of their much needed kitchen. Spot on with your typical bar fare yet surprisingly delicious with somewhat new owner's personal tweaks to the standard. I waited until after the 3rd time to review just for credibility! Lemon pepper wings crunchy meaty and enough flavorful spice, said my friend. L.A. Street Dog, the twist a polish dog split on an New England toasted bread(?) so it's open faced, peppers onions,bacon, etc. bomb! Ive been coming here since before the sunset and its always been a pretty good time. But guess what.. They just got their kitchen in and it's fraking bomb. This might look like left over nachos but its actually a pad thai fusion minus noodles, veggies, bean sprouts, peanut sauce and they added nachos, jalapeños and cheese. Confusing but soooo good. Best pad thai ever!!! Also tried their fried chicken sandwich which i ate too fast to take a photo. But it was either eat fast or share so...I'm about to order another one but im watching my weight so I'm conflicted. I also ordered a ninja but i got a bald samurai type which was aeeiight I guess except he was missing an ear and an eye. Weird. This is my go-to bar. Why you might ask? Simply because the service is honestly the best i've had in sooo many years. The bartender Robert checks up on you to make sure you're good and makes some very taster drinks. I, myself, am a house bartender, so i'm a professional amateur. Lol. I stop in from time to time after work on Fridays. It's always been pretty dead, quiet, mostly geezers. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate their stories about the 'Good Ol' Day's', 25 cent beer, wide open streets, what great athletes they were, an occasional torrid tale of a bunion surgery gone horribly wrong, but what the heck, they can't all be winners. I still get a genuine kick out of them. I stopped in after work the last two Fridays and WOW what a difference. They have a new bartender, Nicky. What a doll, always upbeat, cheery, engaging, very attentive. The place seems to have a completely new attitude by just changing one bartender. Everyone seems to be there just to have fun. A huge improvement. You can't always get a seat at the bar now but I'll take it. I recognized most of the old timers and they seemed to be having a good time blending in with younger crowd. Maybe all those fresh ears that haven't heard their stories yet, LOL. If you haven't been here, the kitchen puts out some good pub fare, good happy hour, fun Karaoke in the evenings. Enjoy. Came here for the first time tonight. I was surprised by the craft beer selection. All bottles though- no taps at all. But the prices are unbeatable! They have happy hour from 4-8. $1.50 off the already super cheap beers and small $2 plates of appetizers. We got the fried pickles, wings, and tater tots. 3 wings came in the order as well as 3 friend pickle spears. We'll definitely be back. The bartender was super friendly. Yet another very divey-dive / karaoke bar. No lines, no club vibe, no douchebaggery or hoochie mamas -- my kind of spot. Brought a friend here for his 32nd birthday on a Saturday night. Drinks are way cheap. Score! Snacks and string cheese (yes, string cheese)! Sign me up! Patrons were primarily regulars, an eclectic mix of oldies, hippies, and college kids. The talent here was a rambunctiously fun surprise. Little mexican dude who crooned like Sinatra, homie in a suit who rocked out to Prince, effeminate male who had a ridiculously good rendition of a Rihanna song. I even gave a few standing ovations. So I've been frequenting this particular bar for a LONG time now. I've gotten to know a couple of the bartenders and I've even met the owner,......All of them are great people and very down to earth. As for the bar itself,........It's a wonderful example of what a "Dive" bar should be. Sure when you walk in the door you are instantly warped back to the 80's,.....heck maybe even the 70's lol But it's the cleanliness that makes this place different from the others. I've never been in here and felt like I was surrounded by dust and funk, like some other Dives I've been to. I usually visit on Friday & Saturday nights and it's usually packed and always Karaoke. Which leads me to the next great thing about this spot,.......The people that it draws in. No matter when I've come here, even when I'm riding solo, I always have a great time. Everyone is always friendly,.......and I've even made a couple new drinking buddies haha There's never a dull moment when the Karaoke is going on and never a lack of singers either. So in summary,..........GREAT BAR,......AWESOME SERVICE (even when it's packed),.......and just a overall FUN experience. This dive bar is my kinda dive bar. Well, sorta. Clean, mellow, cheap drinks, and generous pouring. Went on a Friday night and it was nearly empty. Not only was it quiet, there was no smoking going on and the girl working the bar was nice. Disappointed that they didn't have single malt scotch, I settled for the next best, Irish whiskey: Jameson and Bushmills, neat. Pretty cheap and she hooked it up nicely. There are so many reasons to love this place. It is very relaxed and we come here for the karaoke, which happens every day except Monday (not sure what they have against Mondays, but that's the way it goes). The place isn't packed so you can get into the rotation quite quickly on most nights. Once everyone has done one song, they start the rotation again. The KJ "Karaoke Jockey" always starts the round off so you know when to drop another song in the bucket. We have been incredibly impressed with the song selection. They have their own App (SongbookDB: songlist HRUBYINK) if you want to check out the songs ahead of time. It's so much better than the song books that they usually have, and you can pick everything from The Little Mermaid to Slipknot. I've done both. It keeps 'em guessing. The drinks are reasonable and the alcohol selection is actually pretty decent. They also serve cheese sticks at the bar for .50, which is kind of adorable. Bathrooms are clean. Parking is right out front. You do have to deal with the occasional singer who acts like American Idol is out front and just dying to hear their rendition of Evanescence, but hey, that's part of the fun of karaoke. read more

AND she made a mean Jack and Coke. But it wasnt too strong where you only taste the whiskey. sometimes jack on the rocks with a splash of coke is good, but not when you just want to enjoy your night and not get trashed right away. Popped in for a beer and sat at the bar. The padding is cracked and uncomfortable to rest your arm on. The bartender said that was the next thing they were working on, I was glad to hear that. Was offered a kitchen menu and we decided to try the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese was on point, but didn't care much for the soup at all- but the thing that impressed me the most was how the bartender asked what we thought and expressed true appreciation for our feedback. She said they needed to know what their customers thought so they would be able to make adjustments and changes. How refreshing to get that from a local little bar. I wanted to give this place more stars, but the biggest turn off was that someone was smoking outside the back door and the breeze kept blowing it into the bar and that really ruined the entire food experience. I think if they stop that smoking issue and after they fix the padding and work on the soup a bit, it will definitely get higher stars.
