There are many amazing views of the coastline in Cabo, but this restaurant's view is really something else! So expansive and beautiful! Our service was responsive and helpful. Not intrusive, just right. We chose the 3 course prix fixe menu. I've never had such thick and chunky and fresh oysters! Just delish. Hub had scallops that he said were the best he'd ever had. Main course of mine was 20 layer lasagna. Presented nicely but luke warm that I did not send back to warm. Flavor was good. Hub had Osso buco and enjoyed it but a little salt-heavy. The view is absolutely spectacular, no doubt about that but everything else fell short, especially for the price. We did the six-course menu, and the food was just... mediocre. Definitely not what you'd expect from such a hyped, expensive spot. To make things worse, the fish course gave me food poisoning. I spent the night (and the next day) sick -- puking, diarrhea, the whole thing. I wasn't fully better for almost two days and went to doctor to get the banana bag and antibiotics. Another thing: the flies. They were huge (like penny-sized!) and swarmed the tables as soon as dishes arrived. The staff tried to manage it with smoke, but it was so much that it nearly choked me out. Service, to be fair, was excellent -- the staff were kind and attentive. My fiancé and I couldn't even make it to the 5th course even after we moved tables because of how bad the moths were. I get we were outside but, the restaurant needs traps or something. This is my husband and I's first time in Cabo, and we were celebrating our honeymoon/second wedding anniversary. I made the reservation online a month in advance. I paid $50 for premium seating to reserve our table. I learned that $50 is for the table and does not go toward your meal. The view from this restaurant is amazing. It's definitely one of the prettiest restaurants I've been to, and the view is simply breathtaking. Once you walk in and get seated, you kind of forget about everything else around you. My husband and I chose the five-course meal, and it was honestly perfect for us--we were starving when we walked in! We intended on doing the course meals, but I don't think I could've eaten food, so five was perfect. When I made the reservation, I told him I wanted to do the course meal, but when we got there, they were for no charge. They gave us a plate that said happy honeymoon with delicious chocolate nutty desserts. They definitely care about every customer that comes in and strive to provide the best customer service. In Cabo, most places offer bottled water, so this place did as well. I did notice when I asked for a refill when we were getting ready to leave. I only wanted a glass, and I didn't want them to waste a whole bottle on me, but I don't think they really cared about that; they just poured me a glass anyway. Their drink items are perfect. We were going to do a drink pairing with each course, but again, the portions of each course were pretty big, so I'm glad we didn't have more alcohol because I would've probably not eaten as much as I did. All in all, it's such a good restaurant, and the views are amazing. I definitely recommend it. I was at an all-inclusive resort, and going outside of my resort for this restaurant was definitely worth it! They do have special tables and photographers there (although I think they charge for the pictures, so we declined that service). It's also a good spot to have dinners with family. I don't know if I would consider it kid-friendly, but it was a nice, peaceful place to eat. also, something to note they do have a live band. BEST WEDDING EVER!!! Wow!!!!! I never believed in destination weddings......until I was a guest at this one. So happy to be able to celebrate the wedding of two amazing young people. The bride, we've known since she was seven. When we first met the groom 10 years ago, he said that he was going to marry her and he did. It was love at first sight. The challenge. A category five hurricane headed straight to Cabo in October. Two days before the big event, the nuptials had to be rescheduled. You couldn't tell that anything had sidelined the original plan. Everything was flawless. From the cocktails and mocktails to the most beautiful wedding to the dinner and dancing, the wedding was filled with so much love and friendship. The palette that Sunset Monalisa provided to start this next chapter was just perfect. A chuppah on a floating stage open to symbolically welcome all to their new home, their new family, their new lives. The white flowers looked so beautiful framed against the crystal blue Pacific Ocean. Just stunning. The cocktail and mocktail hour was on the lower levels of the restaurant. So lovely to listen to the violin and harp translate music to set the stage for what was next. Watching the sunset as the happy newlyweds took photos on the rocks along the beach was so magical. Dinner was so delicious. A Different Beet in Thyme Salad. Salmon or Filet Mignon. Tiramisu. Fireworks. Serapes and heater included. What an amazing event at such a beautiful venue. When our host was walking us down a mountain to get to our table my mouth was open the entire time..lol It's amazing what a good architect can create because this is a truly a work of art. Went here for my mother's birthday! I came here for my mother's 69th birthday. I had heard that this place was fancy and beautiful for a special occasion, so I made a reservation and went. Be sure to make a reservation here for sunset; it was gorgeous! The perfect start to our Cabo family trip. The service was amazing, we never ran empty on THE AMAZING drinks, or water, and they treated all of us extremely well. I got the Greed or Avaricia drink, which was delicously sweet and a nice light drink. My brother and husband both had a sip and ordered one right away. We all got the 6-course: 1st course, my husband got the Bone Marrow with Tuna, he loved it, the salad was fresh and nice and light, the tuna was very fresh, and the bread, my husband could not stop raving about the bread. TIP: Dip the bread into the bone marrow. Delicious! I had the sashimi, it melts in your mouth! So delicious, and the little sauce that comes with it was so good! It is some kind of watermelon hot sauce from Peru, super yum! My husband says he one the first round. 2nd Course I had the Truffle Fettuccini, which was excellent! The earthiness of the truffle, with the simplicity of the butter, with the cheese and homemade pasta, is a perfect combination in every bite. My husband had the Capellini with Lobster, it was okay, but wasn't very special. Husband said I won the pasta round. 3rd course was the fish course. I got the Confit Totaba. I don't like fish, so I wouldn't trust my taste for this course. I thought the totaba was okay. I thought it was dry, but maybe that's just how the fish cooks. Also didn't know what the leaf that was wrapped around it was, but the taste was manthaly not a fan. Husband got the Seared Sea Bass, he liked it (he's the fish guy), he said he won this round, and I took his word for it, I didn't taste the sea bass to compare. 4th course, I got the Seared Octopus, and my husband got the Duck Wrap. The seared octopus was okay, nothing special and maybe a tad overcooked. The duck wrap was sooo good. We both loved it, and the round went to his Duck. 5th round, I got the filet, which was delicious. I was definitely at the too-full point, so I felt like I wasn't fully appreciating it by this time, but it was good, and the purees were yummy. My husband got the lobster. It was meh, nothing stood out about it, I mean, yes, it's half a lobster, but nothing popped. 6th and final round, Dessert was after we were uncomfortably full, but the chocolate hazelnut mousse was great, nice and chocolatey, almost like a good chocolate malt. Husband totally won the round, though, he got the Tropical Delight, which was so good! It was tart and sweet. The passionfruit Meringue is a must-try for those of us who love sour fruits. Everyone at our table who got this dessert finished their plates, even though, like I said, we were uncomfortably full. Now for the not-so-fun part. This place is gorgeous and outside, on a cliff, over a beach, where it gets hot and humid and has food, there are going to be bugs. It's just a fact; there is nothing that can be done about them. Our waiter apologised to us many times about it, letting us know that yes, they do fumigate for them, but it doesn't help. They come up from the beach over the cliff, wild cockroaches and little flying beach moths will be on your table and scurrying under the table. Upon checking in, we were in awe of such a beautiful restaurant and its ocean view-- best of all, we were given an intimate table right at the edge! Food: We opted for $100 for 3 dishes each. Their complimentary bread was SO good (garlic, yum!) and!!! unlimited refills. Appetizers Oysters - No hot sauce was provided for these babies lol. But I loved the spicy-mayo + ikura in each! They were fresh and pretty decent in size. Seared scallops - There was sauce made with corn in the dish and it was SO delicious. Tasted even better than scallops, which were kind of small considering they cost extra $12. Entrees Truffle pasta - Eh. I didn't like the spaghetti; thought it was a bit too firm for my liking. The place was stunning u til the crazy winds going how many miles per hour hit us. We tried to ask for accommodations for a table either inside or blocked by glass because the winds again were so crazy. Initially we were told they wouldn't be able to seat us anywhere else so my large group decided to pay for our drinks and skip on the meal due to not being comfortable in the setting that we were in. It was only until we stayed that we were going to leave when they decided to accommodate us due to the business we would bring. Once we were finally taken care of, everything was better but again it wasn't until we showed our intention in leaving that our request was taken into consideration. Food was good. The 7-course dinner was fantastic and it was accompanied by live music and fireworks in addition to a beach-front view of the arch and sunset. The octopus, steak, and coconut sorbet were my favorites. Edgar and Luis were our servers. They were very responsive despite several private celebrations going on during our meal. Seated us at the most luxurious table with a view that was outrageous. We opted for cocktails first and then a bottle of wine with our meals. The meals consisted of options of three, five, or seven courses and a.meat menu for steaks etc. We chose two 3 course meals and a 120 day aged NY strip. The food was very well prepared.However , the stake was probably the least tasty of all the dishes being a bit dry and not as flavorful as expected. We were served an octopus amouse bouche followed by delicious bread. They served my sister gluten free bread so she coul also enjoy. The big draw for this place is obviously the sunset as it sits over a cliffside overlooking a beautiful mountain and the ocean. It's definitely not worth the hype or the high cost. The service was mediocre at best, for a supposedly upscale restaurant, we expected far more attentiveness. We constantly had to flag someone down just for basic things like water refills or to place additional orders. The food was bland, lacking any real flavor, and grossly overpriced. The only item I enjoyed was my drink. Even the view, which is supposed to be a highlight, was disappointing. We were seated on the top floor with no real view of the restaurant or scenery. Our total for a party of four came to over $700, plus $150 in tips and it simply wasn't worth it. Definitely a memorable dinner experience with one of the best sunset views I've ever seen! The view is truly magical, i would return again and again just to soak in the sunset. It's absolutely a must visit restaurant when in Cabo. We dined here in December 2023 during a collaboration night with chef Alex Branch. We had the 5-course menu. Each dish was great and the presentation was excellent. A few of the courses stood out among the others, notably the beef tartare and the bone marrow. Unfortunately the main courses were a little underwhelming, the gnocchi lacked flavor and while the fish was cooked well, it was rather basic compared to some of the other dishes. My dinner plans at Sunset Monalisa were not at all what I expected. My friends and I booked this dinner as soon as the dates opened up. After seeing the stunning view in TikTok videos we were eager to see it and experience it for ourselves. Unfortunately, the day we booked our dinner ended up being a rainy day (obviously no fault of the restaurants) but the events at the restaurant could have been handled better. We arrived at 7 PM for our 7:15 reservation. As mentioned the weather was not great so unfortunately when we arrived the sunset had already occurred. With the drizzling rain still going on, you would think they would ask us if we would like to be moved indoors. They did not. We were seated outside at a round table surrounded by other small tables. Every single table around us had umbrellas on stands so that the guests wouldn't get wet from the rain. Our table had no umbrella, the plates and napkins and everything else on the table were wet. We were then greeted by our server and handed 4 menus (there were 6 of us). After a few minutes I requested more menus which were never brought to us. We then requested umbrellas as it continued to rain. They brought us 2 standard umbrellas that you hold in your hand. So 2 of us held them while the other 4 squeezed under. Mind you one was broken initially so they had to retrieve another. After a while we then requested to be moved indoors if possible. Our request was fulfilled and we moved indoors. Happy to now reset our dinner we began looking at our now 6 menus and ordered our food and drinks. During dinner we requested water over 4 times. Each time we asked the person would respond with "yes of course" and then never bring any water. It got to the point where we had to say "I have asked 4 times now and would really like some water." While still waiting for water the manager came by our table to check in. We informed him of our outdoor fiasco and then also informed him that we have been waiting for water, to which he responded, "I will go get you water right now." He never accommodated or offered anything after hearing about our terrible outdoor experience. He also never came back and we did not get water from him either. After at least 45 minutes and several requests we were given water. After the second course one of us did not finish the meal. We were uncomfortably questioned about why the meal wasn't eaten. When we first arrived they asked if we were celebrating anything and we told them we were celebrating 3 birthdays. In the dining room there were several other birthdays and each person was given a cupcake and candle. After 3 courses, including dessert, we had no yet received any birthday treats so I kindly reminded the waiter that we had 3 birthdays at the table. He then brought out 1 cupcake and 1 candle for all 3 to share and a glass of champagne for each of us. While the champagne was a nice touch, mine and a friend's glass had something floating in it. After all of this the bill was given to us. I was shocked when I saw 7 waters listed on the bill for a total of almost 100 usd. We had to ask multiple times for water and definitely didn't receive 7. I brought this up to the waiter and after a bit of back and forth he said he would see what he could do. He also said he counted the 2 waters we had outside?! If he was referring to the glasses filled of rain water then we're on the same page.....He came back and said he took off 2 waters. At that point we just wanted to leave so I didn't press further about the water we didn't get. Some extra details I forgot to add, my seat was right next to the door to go outside, so all evening waiters were squeezing behind me. The roof of the dining room was missing light fixtures and part of the roof looked like it was going to cave in. If you're still reading this, I hope you reconsider spending a considerable amount of money to go to a restaurant with such poor service. I've read reviews people say they go for the view and drinks which might be good but I personally think you can probably find a better place to enjoy the view where you will get good service. read more

Where do I start? Upon arriving the sunset nearly made me orgasm. Pairing a breathe taking view with impeccable hospitality was enough for a 5 star... but it didn't stop there. We decided on a 5 course meal - and guess what? Another near orgasm. I couldn't believe it. And to top it off - half way through the meal, we saw a ufo... this was something out of a movie. Sunset Monalisa was such a special experience. We went to celebrate a birthday it was such a treat. We were given roses upon our arrival. We ordered two of the 5 course menus and added the oyster starter. The meal also comes with the most incredible fluffy fresh baked focaccia style bread with whipped butter. We opted for one of each of the items off the 5 course with the exception of the tenderloin or veal option... we opted out of the veal. Portions were smaller but that was ok because there were so many of them. Everything was really good but the desserts were just ok and there wasn't much to them. Maybe this is by design because we were pretty full by that time. Much like a hotel, you have to pay extra for a premium view/table. One of the nicest restaurants I have ever been to! The whole night was an experience. We did the 7 course meal and the plates were very perfectly spaced to enjoy each course. At one point it had gotten chilly and the staff provided a blanket for me. There was so many different meal items that were tried and the flavor and presentation were stunning. We love the sunset Mona Lisa and will recommend to anyone headed down to Cabo. PS, this restaurant is where you go to have a full meal experience. You see the Cabo arch, you enjoy a drink, and have multiple small course meals. Most of the reviews I have read that are poor focus on portion sizes and the price but the sunset monalisa is truly a restaurant I will never forget. The atmosphere, ambiance, and view are to die for. A great romantic place to propose, celebrate, or simply splurge on a great view as the sun sets with stunning views. As far as the value for your money... get ready. You will be paying LA or NY prices for the food. The food is good, but not great (8 out of 10). Customer service is outstanding with friendly staff who will cater to your evening and great music. We spent close to $1,000 for a group of three (3) with each person getting the 7-course dinner and a couple of drinks per person. By the way, they do have vegetarian options if meat and seafood are not your thing. Would I do it again? Probably not unless I'm trying to impress my significant other or I won the lotto. Where to start..the name of the restaurant says it all, SUNSET! So if you're going to do anything right, better be that. Oh how you failed (though I blame myself for not speaking up). Reservation was for 5:45, got there a little early and the sat us. I knew when they did, this was not a good seat (I prepaid for premium seating). I looked to see where the sun was headed and noticed a table directly in our view...don't you know, they just HAD to seat a couple there! That way, every picture I wanted to take of my wife and I had some other lady in it..who does that? There were 2-3 other premium tables open they could have sat them at. Again, I should have said something the minute they sat us, but how do you not know seating them there would block our view? Also, they have some event when the sun sets so good luck finding your waiter to take a picture of you as the sun is setting. The even goes on for enough time that when they get back, the sun is down and your picture isn't as nice...again SUNSET Mona Lisa, not Twilight Mona Lisa. Food was good, but it's good at most restaurants down there. You're paying for the view! I could have paid 1/2 the food cost and had a blocked view of the sunset.
