Sunset Monalisa was such a special experience. We went to celebrate a birthday it was such a treat. We were given roses upon our arrival. We ordered two of the 5 course menus and added the oyster starter. The meal also comes with the most incredible fluffy fresh baked focaccia style bread with whipped butter. We opted for one of each of the items off the 5 course with the exception of the tenderloin or veal option... we opted out of the veal. Portions were smaller but that was ok because there were so many of them. Everything was really good but the desserts were just ok and there wasn't much to them. Maybe this is by design because we were pretty full by that time. Much like a hotel, you have to pay extra for a premium view/table. As far as the value for your money... get ready. You will be paying LA or NY prices for the food. The food is good, but not great (8 out of 10). Customer service is outstanding with friendly staff who will cater to your evening and great music. We spent close to $1,000 for a group of three (3) with each person getting the 7-course dinner and a couple of drinks per person. By the way, they do have vegetarian options if meat and seafood are not your thing. Would I do it again? Probably not unless I'm trying to impress my significant other or I won the lotto. Where to start..the name of the restaurant says it all, SUNSET! So if you're going to do anything right, better be that. Oh how you failed (though I blame myself for not speaking up). Reservation was for 5:45, got there a little early and the sat us. I knew when they did, this was not a good seat (I prepaid for premium seating). I looked to see where the sun was headed and noticed a table directly in our view...don't you know, they just HAD to seat a couple there! That way, every picture I wanted to take of my wife and I had some other lady in it..who does that? There were 2-3 other premium tables open they could have sat them at. Again, I should have said something the minute they sat us, but how do you not know seating them there would block our view? Also, they have some event when the sun sets so good luck finding your waiter to take a picture of you as the sun is setting. The even goes on for enough time that when they get back, the sun is down and your picture isn't as nice...again SUNSET Mona Lisa, not Twilight Mona Lisa. What an experience!! My husband took me here one of the nights to have dinner while watching the sunset. The place has beautiful views as you can see in the pictures. The service was beyond expectations. Everyone was amazing but our servers Fernando and Alberto were an 11/10. They made our experience to be perfect in every way. They were friendly, professional and attentive. My husband and I did the 5 course experience and we got a bottle of Verdejo. I was so full after - I couldn't even finish the last dish! We got an appetizer by the chef not included in the menu, then scallops (bomb!), handmade pasta with truffle and infused parmesan (my favorite), sea bass, short rib and crème brûlée for dessert. They brought us focaccia with Parmesan on top and truffle butter. All this truffle made my heart very happy. One of the nicest restaurants I have ever been to! The whole night was an experience. We did the 7 course meal and the plates were very perfectly spaced to enjoy each course. At one point it had gotten chilly and the staff provided a blanket for me. There was so many different meal items that were tried and the flavor and presentation were stunning. We love the sunset Mona Lisa and will recommend to anyone headed down to Cabo. PS, this restaurant is where you go to have a full meal experience. You see the Cabo arch, you enjoy a drink, and have multiple small course meals. This is a beautiful setting for a sunset dinner with amazing food, service and VIEWS! From the beginning, we could see they had a great staff that was all friendly and well trained, and we would have a great time for our anniversary. We opted for the 5-course menu with the fillet upgrade. All the dishes were well thought out, expertly executed, and flavorful without ever being overbearing. The scallops with corn relish were amazing, the pasta with truffles was a great way to showcase the truffle without distractions. Then we had the catch of the day, it was delicate, light, and just yummy. The fillet was cooked to the right temperature and was beautiful. We did have a parade of desserts, with a palette cleanser, the dessert that was part of our order, then a special dessert for the anniversary, and finally the little box of chocolates. We had the special table which is a $25pp fee which was worth it. The staff also provided a firework show for my bday which was amazing. The deposit is applied to your meal which is a set menu in which you choose your courses. The courses are well presented. The food was not the most flavorful and portion sizes are small (see pics) with a minimum $100 cost per person for dinner. While staff was courteous service was slow and waited between courses. The evening in April was chilly and the restaurant has heaters throughout as well as blankets on the chairs to wrap yourself which was a nice touch. There is live music and photo opportunity by their photographer. The photos will be offered to you during dinner and are digital sent via AirDrop (iPhone). my family and I travel to Sunset Monte Lisa to experience a seven course fine dining meal. We had a party of a brown eight individuals who chose to do the five course meal instead of the seven course meal. Due to the fact that our party was so large we were unable to get our seven course because everyone had to order the same thing. My partner and I were very disappointed in this because we were looking forward to the seven courses. I was really impressed with the ambience we came very late in the afternoon and they provided blankets for the entire table. The food was plenty and they explained every meal to us. We paid around $450 total with tip. I would say this is an experience and likely we would not be traveling to frequent. read more

We went to this place with great expectation. Everything was mediocre or worse from the very beginning. They wanted to charge an extra $25/person for "premium seating" even through 75% of the place was empty! We protested and they didn't. But they only offered us the fixed menu at $100/person. As soon as we sat down, the live music ended! The appetizers, while good looking were definitely not fresh looking. The thinest "heirloom" tomato and supermarket quality cheese! Then the mains came and most of the were cold or hot on the inside only indicating possibly that they used microwave to warm them. The desert was 1/5 cheesecake! At the end when we tried to say to the waiter that a 10% tip is more than enough, he protested and wanted 20%. We paid 15% and asked to talk to the manager, who offered some "cocktails" ... though they knew we don't drink. He also shut down the fire next to us and they couldn't wait for us to finish to go home. He said if I had told him how bad things were he would have offered a discount. I said he could do it now and give me a refund of sorts, but he ignored it. Overall, one of the worst experiences and food quality in Cabo. You have a beautiful view of the ocean, The Arch of Cabo, and the sky. Perfect for pictures! Outdoor seating and everything is very clean Our party of 16 decided on the Chef's Menu, which costs $143 USD (December 2021). 7 courses; 6 dishes + dessert, palette cleanser, and bread. The dishes were Bluefin Tuna, Foie Gras Terrine, Truffle Pasta, Crispy Duck Confit, Totoaba, Wagyu beef tenderloin, and Gianduja and Hazelnut for dessert. With a paleta/popsicle in between as a palette cleanser. My favorite dishes were: -Bluefin Tuna, which tasted fresh, came in a hearty portion, and had just enough ponzu -Duck Confit because of the crispy outside -Totoaba (fish), which was cooked nicely and had a soft texture -Wagyu beef - although the pieces were very small, it was cooked perfectly I'm not sure if this counts but they gave us a popsicle as a "palette cleanser" before dessert and it was so refreshing. I also kept reaching for the bread. The presentation of each dish was beautiful. The other dishes tasted just okay in my opinion and some flavors and textures weren't for me, like the Foie Gras Terrine and Truffle Pasta. The truffle pasta caught my table off guard because the other table in our party, got the pasta before us and told us that the pasta was amazing and tasted so good. When we tried it, we didn't like it. It was missing flavor and tasted bland, also our plates looked different from each others. Since we had leftovers of this specific dish, our server Alberto, asked us our opinion on why we didn't like it and explained that our thoughts were very important to the chef. I definitely appreciated that attention. Everything as a whole was amazing though. The views, the service, especially from Alberto, and the fireworks during dessert was a beautiful touch. They sang to the birthday celebrant, took pictures for us, and consistently checked up on us. That said, I'm not sure that those dishes warrants $92 for a meal. Drinks: Hiding in the forest - they were out of the cool bird glasses but my husband enjoyed. Strong but didn't last long. Blossoming Garden: I love that it comes in a tea kettle. I felt like the drink went on forever because of the small tea cup they gave it to me in. Really enjoyed the flavors. We had such a great experience at the remarkable restaurant. Firstly, I just want to say, it is a beautiful layout with everyone sitting out on an expanded patio with multiple different levels overlooking the sea. Romantic! But I went with family. The goal is to catch the Sunset, and we missed it... but it didn't make the night any less magical. The food was very good. We had a panel of items that night from the truffle pasta (2/5) ravioli (4/5) and oysters (4/5) then moved to the entrees with prawns (4/5) and the lamb filet (5/5). We also had the luxury tequila flight where their host tequilologist gave us the history of the tequilas and advised us on how to drink them. It was a cold day and everyone had blankets provided by the restaurant which was the icing on the cake! And staff made sure the properly place heaters going out of their way to make sure we were happy. The whole experience was amazing. Just an experience. What cannot I not say about Sunset Monalisa. I am so thrilled to review this restaurant. This restaurant dots all the i's and crosses all the t's. The Mediterranean vibe here is absolutely a true representation of Greece. Upon entry we're greeted by 3 beautiful hostess that informed us that we have premium seating. We we're lead past the cigar stand where Cuban cigars are plentiful. We continued pass the main level of outside diners down a few steps to an expansive view of the ocean and the cabo arch in the distance. The restaurant has many private and intimate areas for dining. Premium seating consisted of front row cliff side seating view of the ocean. Heat lamps, fire pits and blankets are plentiful if your date catches a chill. We arrived here around 5:30pm for the most amazing sunset. The menu options consisted of a 3 course a la carte option or 2 prix fixe 5-7 course selections for meat eaters and or vegetarians. The drinks are exceptional. The live band was awesome. This restaurant is a true dining experience on multiple levels of romance. Good food, great ambiance, but beware of price gouging. 484 MX for 2 bottles of water, really? There was also a mandatory 25% gratuity for premium tables. They now offer only the 7 course menu, no more 5 course sets. 7848 MX ($392 USD) for a meal for two with only 1 glass of wine seemed a bit excessive even for a notorious tourist trap. We chose the Chef's Menu ($143 USD each) and were very impressed with most the food. Duck confit was perfect: thin crispy skin and tender delish meat beneath. Foie Gras terrine was great, buttery and smooth with barely a hint of its usual gamey taste. Truffle pasta lived up to the Yelpers' billings. Blue fin tuna and the seabass were adequate. Australian wagyu tenderloin was tender but no where near the typical Japanese wagyu texture, also some of the edges were charred black and dry. The bread was fantastic and served with soft butter. I ordered a glass of 2018 Anxelin cabernet but the server poured from a 2019 bottle. Ambiance was fantastic as guests can enjoy the view of the ocean, the Lands End, the Arch of Cabo and the sunset to boot. We witnessed 2 marriage proposals during our meal. I have traveled extensively and this had to be one of the most spectacular dining vistas I have ever had the pleasure to witness. Perfect view? Definitely, but what about the food? Simply superb! The menu is all Prix Fixe, which I'm never usually a fan of, however the selection and execution of the dishes was outstanding. They offered a 3, 5, and 7-course dinner. We went with the 5 course ($115 pp) and also ordered a bottle of wine, a Mexican Sauvignon Blanc that was lightly refreshing albeit somewhat acidic. The restaurant itself is spectacular and it feels like you're dining in Greece or something with all of the white walls. The beginning of our meal felt a little too sales-y to me. They were trying to get us to buy $26 cocktails and I gave in and got the "You are my sunshine" drink off the Power of Nature menu. One of the guys came around with an iPad and started telling us how they crafted these cheesy names and you can even listen to the bird sounds off the iPad. How ridiculous is that! If I could do it over again, I would skip the BS menu and get straight to the real drink menu. We got the 5-course menu which is $115 per person. In other words, it ain't cheap here. It started with the baja kampachi which was decent. The truffle pasta was probably the best dish with the pasta cooked al dente. The duck confit was way too salty. I thought the totoaba was good (good portion) and I enjoyed the chileatole sauce. The flexible chocolate is a weird way to name your dish and it just felt like glorified store candy arranged nicely on a plate. Would I say the food here is worth it? Probably not. I have enjoyed great dining experiences at many highly-rated steak and seafood places in the US, thanks to business travel. So, it took some convincing by wife to drag me to Sunset Monalisa and I wasn't expecting much. However, it turned into the best all around dining experience I've ever had. The view, as advertised, is stunning and we had perfect weather at the perfect time of day to watch the sun settled behind land's end. The food was Michelin quality. We had the 3 course menu, with upgrade to filet and snapper. The steak was on par with great American steak houses and the snapper was the most delicious fish I've ever had. Very fresh and light with a hint of wood fired smokiness against local spices. The service (Alejandro and Victor) was impeccable, attentive and friendly without being overbearing. All that would have been plenty for a top rated experience, but wait there's more. They had live entertainment that was brilliant. They had a tenor and soprano singer serenading with light opera tunes like Andrea Bocelli. After the singers, there was a live jazz/pop band, with excellent musicians, that provided the perfect musical ambiance against the sound of the crashing waves. I'm hesitant to publish this because I want to be able to get a reservation next time I'm in town but this is an iconic experience that others should enjoy. read more

I've dined at Sunset Mona Lisa at least 6 times in the last 8 years. On October 31, 2025, my guests and I were subjected to the most disgusting and arbitrary seating conditions never imposed in my previous visits. We were restricted to seating in the far rear next to the kitchen and were told forward seating would be an additional $27.00, per person! Having NEVER been subjected to this toll, 1 objected! The manager came to our rear table and blatantly LIED that the premium tiered seating had been in effect for at least two years. Why I know that wasn't true is because I had celebrated my birthday there the previous year and for several years before that without any imposition of a tiered pricing on seating. Moreover, the premium tiered seating was NOT explained at the time the reservation was booked. While the spectacular sunset is the real draw to this restaurant and NOT the overpriced mediocre food, I will never forget the insult our group of accomplished African American women suffered and I will spread the word to my friends and family NOT to dine at Sunset Mona Lisa in the future. The setting is THE REASON to dine here. It will cost you an additional $25 per person to sit at a table right on the edge of a cliff looking out over the ocean. You will have amazing sunset views. The food is delicious but occasionally a miss. The arugula, burrata, peach, avocado salad was a little wilted, yet still tasted, balanced. For the main course, the beef cheek was tender. It could have used a little more potato underneath to soak up the juices. Finishing with the peach almond dessert was very sweet, but excellent.
