We rode both the Gulf side and Atlantic side and they catered to our preferences as to which we preferred since the Atlantic was considerably rougher than the leeward Gulf side. Went on the 1.5 hour jet ski tour at 10 am today and being someone who was previously terrified of both the ocean and anything that moves fast, I can honestly say I had an amazing time and I am DYING to go back tomorrow. Jesse and Devon were the two tour guides for the whole group and because of the rough waters due to the wind today, they gave us the option of either jet skiing in calm water and seeing what those babies could do versus going half speed in the rough water. We chose to go the calm water route but it was still a blast because we completely maxed out the speed on those machines. They also had us stop halfway through and let us get out on a huge sandbar and take pictures. The view of the island was beautiful, and it helped that the view of the guides was pretty nice too. Highly recommend to anyone visiting key west. read more

This review is for the jet ski tour around the island (This is for the 9:30 tour on 2 Sep 23). The guides were Ben and Stephanie. First, the check in process is a little chaotic, so get there early. This has nothing to do with the business, just that there are waivers and such to fill out and younger riders (under 30 something) must take an online test. These are nothing the business can help, so it doesn't effect the review. The equipment is top notch. Rental jet skis see a pretty tough life, and these guys are on top of keeping them all running and going. No one had any problem with any of their skis on this trip. Life vests come in all sizes and they will help you find one that fits (note, in about 70% of the water around the island, you could most likely stand up if you fell in.) The view is amazing. Key West is really something else. I grew up on the water, I'm a rescue diver and I've been all over the world diving and I really can't believe I haven't been here before. Key West is really a unique sight to see. Mangroves, crystal clear water Gulf side, the ocean side is the most beautiful blue you can imagine. The tour guides don't get paid enough. (Please leave them a better tip than 20%) They really don't know each persons' ability to pilot a jet ski (and it takes some skill), but they get the group figured out and work to make sure each person is comfortable and in a good position (more experience riders are up front, lesser are in the back so no one is being held up or being rushed.) Ben and Stephanie are completely capability and friendly and make sure everyone knows what to expect. They pepper in some jokes with the tour and make sure everyone is having fun. We had such a good time on this trip, we almost did another one right after it! If you are a beginner or experienced rider, you will have fun on this trip. One improvement (but I understand why they most likely don't do this) is that at the 'wet pause' on the sandbar, if they let people just free ride a little bit in the open water for a few minutes. Especially for the people riding two up, their passengers could take a stab at piloting the ski. Oh, one thing, some of their hand signals mean very different things to us Italians from New Jersey, so they need to be a little more careful! 8) For the price, I was glad we did it, and I would do it again without question. read more

I have done the jet ski tour twice with Sunset Watersports and have thoroughly enjoyed both times. Jake and Devin were our tour guides both trips and they do an awesome job keeping the tour fun & energetic. After initially starting out, they stop about a half mile out to ensure everyone is feeling comfortable with the jet ski and speed. It's a good thing they do, because the first time we toured there were 2 different people who felt they couldn't handle it and returned to the dock. This is not a slow moving, leisurely tour! They move at a high speed the entire time. There are several quick stops throughout the 28 mile tour, with the opportunity to stop and swim at a sand bar at one point. My only complaint was that on our first tour a couple of years ago we were provided the opportunity to have about 10 minutes of freestyle time but unfortunately this time around the tour felt a bit more rushed and we did not get the same opportunity :( They are located at the Parrot Key Inn and valet parking is available on site. There was a little confusion about parking and a random Sunset employee told us we could park in the Walgreens parking lot. We saw a million tow away warning signs and called the company to double check and the girl was like "DO NOT PARK IN WALGREENS- They will tow you!" If you book the 10 am outing it is a little cheaper than the rest of the tour times. The tours last about 2 hours and you need to check in about 45 minutes early. Tipping 18% is encouraged when you check in and at the end of the tour, but is left up to your discretion. Overall, a great experience and I will choose Sunset Watersports again! :) read more

. I booked my " do it all" 28 mile jet ski tour and dinner cruise all at the same time months before we came. It was my sons graduation trip and I wanted to make sure everything was good to go and we had no issue with space or availability. Upon arriving at the " do it all" we were an hour early and went to check in. The ladies in the office were nice enough and said their credit card machine was having issues. I mentioned I had Apple Pay and the First Lady sent me to the back and told me I could be checked out there. So that's exactly what I did. I got the confirmation on my side payment went through, so did she as she gave me our boarding tickets and told us to have a good time. Great! So we then wait for another 45 min or so before getting let on to the party boat. . Finally, we take off. The Captain seemed nice enough and had a fun personality. The trio was fun, I would say it wasn't anything I would write home about but for a day in the water and being able to hang out with my kids it was worth it. However, if you are looking for more time on a single water sport, look into booking separately because it's like 5 min on the parasailing and 10 min on jet ski. Everything else really wasn't worth anything. It was a good day on the water but we were looking forward to our jet ski tour as that's what my son really liked doing mostly. Fast forward to two days later and out jet ski tour. We arrive again, early but not as early we learned out lesson! I go to check in and I'm told by one of the employees that he was told by his boss I didn't pay for "do it all" that we had gone on 2 days before but I had reserved 2 months before and paid for that morning. I showed him my phone and my confirmation calmly at first because I'm thinking it's just a miscommunication or the wrong reservation he was talking about. He then tells me no, that's not us. He starts screaming and yelling and yelling at his employees telling them they don't take Apple Pay! I said, well you have to take it because that's how I paid and it's been taken out of my bank account. He looked at me and told me to shut up basically. He put his hand up in my face and screamed, okay!! He looks over his stuff and looks at my phone over and over before getting on the phone with someone else and begins yelling at them. This goes on for almost 30 minutes, the tour is getting ready to head out and here are is my family in the hot sun waiting for this nut job to figure it out. He eventually gets so annoyed that he takes off and tells his tour guide to go ahead. Thank God, right? ... wrong. The tour was alright at best. I don't know if we just didn't get everything we were supposed to because DONNY was too busy raging out or what but at one point I was on the back of a jet skit and the tour guide gets a call and brings me a phone for DONNY to continue to talk about payment!!!! We weren't the only family on this tour so how embarrassing was this for this to be happening while on jet skis in front of people I didn't know. The whole tour though wasn't worth 340.00 and I would never do it again. There's plenty of places to rent jet skis and you'll have more time to enjoy riding around and seeing everything. It was time to go in and I knew the kids had a good time for what it was worth and I was happy knowing that. Except when we pulled in there was DONNY with his hands crossed looking like a financial advisor with papers coming out of everywhere waiting for me. No problem, I have to pay for the jet skis is what I thought. Nope! He's waving papers in my face telling me I owe him almost 900.00!!! He's still stating I didn't pay for the "do it all". At this point I've lost my patience. It's embarrassing for the last time and my kids are present and I'm over it. I tell him I'm going to pay for the jet ski tour and I'm leaving. He then goes on to call me names. He's screaming at his employees to get the golf carts to block my car in with my kids inside!! So I grab my keys and I pull my car out just in case this dude grabs a gun or something else. He seemed drunk or High and he's screaming and pacing back and forth. I call the cops and go and sit in my car. My fiancé is sitting up with him trying to talk sense into him explaining how we paid already and we can't just give him another 500.00 just because he says so. So the cops show up. I have my bank statement ready and had already called the bank. It was exactly what I had said. I had already been charged. There was nothing I hadn't paid for except for the jet ski but I had already tried and he wouldn't talk about that he kept talking about the "do it all" from 2 days ago. This guy had real mental issues and I wouldn't trust him to run a business. The police confirmed what I was saying that, I HAD ALReady PAid!!!! And let me leave after paying for the jet ski which I had already tried to do a couple times. read more

I did the "do it all" along with the dinner cruise and I was overall satisfied. Friendly staff - People at the bar, Jamaican singer, parasailing and jet ski instructors, people at the ticketing location were all very friendly and pleasant to deal with. I didn't have a problem with anyone and unlike other reviewers said, they weren't pushy to sell their photo package. i did purchase the parasailing photo package but did not buy the regular one. Dinner cruise had a beautiful view, good music and drinks. Do it all was good. Parasailing is great! Jet ski was very good too. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the boat docks at a place where you don't really see any fishes when snorkeling and the other attractions (inflatable stuff, trampoline) aren't really fun. So if I were to go back I would probably just do the dinner cruise and parasailing separately. Just a side node, Key West is a nice place, lots of stuff going on at night but the beaches aren't good, so if you go there try to book something during the day rather than going to the beach. read more

You get your own speedboat and follow the leader as you cruise full speed through the beautiful waters around the keys. I love the ride and will do this every time I visit the keys. First time skiers on Jan 8, 2020. This was very expensive for a family of four! I know most people like to go really fast. I liked going fast on the calm water. On the ocean water it was somewhat painful as the bumps were hard. We felt pressured to go uncomfortably fast to keep up. We were rushed through the tour, not even 1.5 hours and didn't get any free time as was promised on the brochure. If you are experienced you will love it. If you are a newbie, it is a lot of money for a rather stressful trip. I felt the staff was annoyed with me and my daughter for not being able to keep up. The plug for tips at the end was very uncomfortable as we were pressured into tipping when we paid at the beginning. We have no problem tipping and expect to do so but do not like to be pressured. Sunburned and hung over, DJ Maestro was my instructor on a Jet Ski tour around Key West. Maestro's ego, fueled by his many conquests of Key West's swinging seniors, often create awkward encounters if you aren't hugging him on every turn of the jet ski tour. On scheduled stops, the Maestro will scold you for not keeping up - forcing him to delay his life by ten seconds. While Sunset advertises that you get to go around the whole island, Maestro's tour just takes you to the Real World house and back. Unfortunately, I purchased a sunset cruise from Sunset Watersports prior to the jet ski tour - and had to continue my patronage of the business. Guess who was the DJ on the cruise? Yep - the conchsmith himself, DJ Maestro! While Maestro is not much of a jet ski tour leader - his DJ skills are top notch. Playing such hits as La Macarena (Hey Macarena!),Cotton Eyed Joe, and several Nickelback favorites the Maestro knows music that will get your feet flying and arms waving in the air. The ladies were mesmerized by Maestro's music selection skills, and it was apparent their sunset cruise would not end on the boat. Best part of our whole trip. Matt and Jake did an amazing job on our tour. They were helpful to those who have never rode one before and still made it fun for the experienced riders. Very safe and professional tour without losing the fun of it. Now the person who really deserves a shout out is Curt. He is who checked us in, super great personality. That isn't what made him so great though. Our car broke down in the parking lot. He helped try and jump it off, when that didn't work he called multiole shops he uses to try and help us. When no one could get us in he offered to drive us to a hotel for the night. He gave us his personal number to call if we needed any advice on where to go or help with our car. He didn't have to help us, that isn't part of his job. He did it anyways and we are very greatful for that. read more

First time parasailing and it was overall fun. If you go in the morning it's cheaper than later on by 10$ and there's a nice breeze. Chase and Scott were friendly and pretty funny guides-at first. I enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere in the beginning with the Coldplay music blaring on the boat. However it got pretty awkward at the end when we said that we didn't want the pictures that were snapped by Chase for the ridiculous price of 40$ . My mistake, dudes, apparently saying I was interested in pics obligated us to purchase before viewing them-this wasn't explained when we went out although I should have been more savvy. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. I did notice that they kept us in the air for an extra few minutes longer than the others and did an extra dip for us which in itself may have been worth a portion of the extra cost for the pics. ;-) At the end we did buy their pics for "at cost" price of 20$ (10 pp), which the guys were obvs not happy about and I was really embarrassed by the intimations of hostility btw the two towards us (mainly in the form of frowns, sidelong glances and murmurs) that lasted the remainder of the tour. Really tainted the experience for me and wish it had been clearly communicated prior to but I am still happy that I tried parasailing. Recommend bringing your own camera and just saying no at the start when the guides ask for the 'professional' pics and you will be fine. 10 min boat ride, 5 min parasailing time, $$, and a whole lot of awkwardness later...was it really worth the amazing experience of soaring above the ocean on level with the seagulls and scenic morning view?....heck yes. ....Just not sure if there may be a better crew to try it with the first time. read more

The kayak tour was at best 20 minutes and rushed to get the next group out even though advertised as 5 hours. there are not enough kayaks for the entire group so they split the group up and rush each one through total about 20 minutes in kayak. Lunch included an assortment of veggie wraps and Cuban sandwich. The chicken fingers are served cold FYI if you have children and are expecting a warm chicken tender. There were no crackers with the cheese. The bathrooms someone defacated in on the floor and water was splashed on the deck with a scrub brush as someone stepped in it and it was on the deck in front of the bar where lunch was served. Our shoes were taken at the beginning so the entire time we were walking in wet who knows what in front of where water was used to clean up feces. The sand bar portion of the tour was nice but be prepared to run someone down if you want to use the one floating mat or 4 or so paddle board as there is not near enough provided for 80 people. Last, the draft beer other guests over indulged in and were belligerent screaming and dancing on the entire trip back making it a miserable get me off this boat now. They were sloppy drunk on draft beer. Drunk in public in the middle of the afternoon is not something I want to teach my kids is the meaning of a good time. The crew did not intervene and ask them to be respectful of other guests. We booked with children. If we wanted a booze cruise would have selected. nite I pushed this review on another forum and the owners response was not an apology or even acknowledgement of their guests feedback but rather derogatory and criticizing. stay far away from this place. read more

I had services canceled due to weather and the website a full refund will be issued but when I called the representative say she can only give me $25 out of my $250 charge. I came here with my family 2 years ago and rode jetskis for the first time. The guides were very nice and accommodating to first-timers. I came back again today with my family and it was my third time riding a jetski, so I felt a lot more confident in my ability to keep up a high speed (the max speed is 45mph so I would say 35+ is high). I ended up passing up all of the other people and was right behind the guide because I wanted to go fast and most of the people in the tour were first-timers. Our guide, Morgan, was amazing. He was very nice and encouraging everyone and accommodating to people who wanted to go faster, slower, and in between by the order he put the jetskis in. I was on full throttle for a while and it was so much fun. My family members spent most of the tour in the middle of the line going 25-30 mph. They also said they had a ton of fun. Morgan was awesome and encouraged me to get in the front of the line when he asked if anyone wanted to go faster! The tour was about an hour and a half and I absolutely loved it. We had some pretty choppy water and some calm water as well. I 100% recommend Sunset Watersports and will definitely be coming again the next time I'm in Key West. read more

We did the sunset cruise and do it all experience. Neither were what we were expecting. The sunset cruise had 80 people in it. We should have know with Free well alcohol it wasn't what we were really expecting. They guy singing was pretty awful. We joked that if he can get a job singing maybe we could too. The food was surprisingly good. We are the plantains, yellow rice, pulled pork, bbq chicken, and I can't remember what else. The line for the bar was long and they only had 2 bartenders. It got better as the night went on. Go down to the bottom of the boat in the back about 45 minutes before sunset. It was beautiful but more like a booze and cruise type of thing than anything romantic. For the do it all we were very disappointed with the snorkeling. We saw maybe 3 fish. We were given maybe 15 minutes on the jet skis and about a 5 minute parasail experience. Both were great but wish we had longer. The lunch was pretty good again. Pulled pork, chicken nuggets, French fries, Mac and cheese, salad with ranch only. You get unlimited soda and water during the trip. read more

Did the all day beach pass at smathers and had a great day in the sun! Started with parasailing then went on to kayak, zayak, and sailed the hobie cat. Very hot day with little to no wind so the sailing was slow but nice for our first time! The staff was very friendly especially the "old timers" and the "juniors." We wished we brought more water and snacks as there was only one food truck. But a fun day overall for the price we paid. Definitely a good value. read more

The trip was great. The Captain was friendly and knowledgeable. Went on the Sunset/Dolphin/Snorkeling trip. We got to see around 8 dolphins, snorkeling was great, we saw a reef shark, lots of tropical fish. Sunset was cloudy but still great. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my husband woke up 2 days later with Strep Throat. While at the ER with a horrible sore throat the doctor asked if we had been snorkeling and used the companies gear. Kids and myself used our Walgreen's bought snorkels due to my germ phobia. Could have possibly came from somewhere else, not blaming the company solely, but take your own gear to be on the safe side! read more

Booked a month in-advanced for my first reef snorkeling trip for our group. But then I got called just a day before from Sunset Watersport saying the 9:00am trip is cancelled and will need to put us on the 1:00pm trip. I asked why and their reply was that they wasn't sure if they would be ready for it a month ago (Then why the heck would they take reservation?) I was upset due to the parasailing trip I have booked for the afternoon(with Fury Watersport) needed to be re-scheduled. (And i am glad that i was able to re-schedule my parasailing to the morning with Fury). That was't the end of the story. Sunset watersport called me again at the same day just 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting time, and once again tell me the trip will be canceled due to captain's order (whatever that means) and there is nothing they can do. I was really really really DISAPOINTED. They ruined my plan once again, not knowing if I would be able to get on another snorkeling trip that day since we will be leaving keywest the next morning. So i rushed back to Fury watersport, where I had my morning parasailing with, they were helpful and able to put me on their trip immediately at 1:00pm and also gave me a 10% off discount knowing how i got screwed by sunset watersport. Pleas don't bother to book with Sunset watersport. They don't care about our plans and do not fullfill there end of their promises. Worst EXPERIENCE EVER!!! read more
