Beautifully renovated, Yolk Cafe took over what used to be Rustic Cafe. The dining room is very open and they also have dog-friendly patio seating. We tried the Florentine Benedict. The poached egg was spot on with runny yolk and it came with delicious hash. We also tried several of the breakfast sides including short stack pancakes, eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious and fresh. The bacon was thick cut, perfectly cooked without being salty. Service was excellent. Highly recommend. read more

10/18/2020 Came out for brunch, this place had a good feel from yelp. The wait was not bad since we used the yelp app to get in line before we got there. I ordered a Breakfast burrito and so did the wife. We had 1 order of the Sweet Cream Pancakes (short stack) as well The green salsa has some kick to it, the red is mild and tasty. I did order w/o the green peppers and added sour cream (be warned sour cream is an upcharge!) The was tasty and crisp, the sour cream was not sour nor was it needed. The pancakes were so tasty and crisp around the edges just like Grandma used to make. I'm a big fan of Sunshine Breakfast Bar. We really enjoy this spot for a Saturday morning breakfast. The coffee is great and I've never been disappointed by a meal here. The breakfast burrito is fantastic, omelettes are on point, and pancakes are perfect every time. The coffee is great, and even though they do specialty coffee drinks, the normal brew is so good I don't want to miss out. If you like mimosas, the flight is a fun way to try a few. You get 4, so it's easy to split with a friend. Service here is consistently really good. Everyone is welcoming and the diversity of the waitstaff suggests everyone is welcome here. I love that they use the Yelp Waitlist feature so you're not on line for eternity standing out in the Phoenix sun. When you get seated, usually within just a few moments of arriving, they're quick to get you settled with a beverage while you decide on food. You pay your bill at table side with your server so that part is quick and easy too. The space is comfortable and the decor is cute. They have some TVs with sports playing on low volume so it isn't too distracting but if you care about the game you can see the score. The patio is heated so if you sit out there during cool months it is pretty comfortable. When dining here, I've seen families with small kids, couples on dates, groups of friends, and all of them seem to have a good experience, at sunshine breakfast bar. read more

We arrived about 10min after opening! No wait, sat right away in the patio area since we had our dog. Had a very friendly waiter who gave our pup water and puppy treats right away which is always a plus for us!! Mimosa flight was a must! All our choices were tasty and perfectly garnished! Food was amazing! Hubby ordered Chicken fried steak and I had the Lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of thick cut bacon and scrambled eggs. Everything was excellent and would definitely come back! Only thing to mention/suggestion for the patio area only is maybe consider citronella candles because we got eaten up bad by mosquitos! Also please consider fixing the outdoor fan to keep the flies away and maybe the mosquitos too. Thank you otherwise for the great food and service. read more

This place gave us every reason why they didn't want our business. My husband and I and our 2 friends have both worked in food industry and restaurants for a very long time and the hostess had absolutely no logic why we couldn't be sat. We all agreed they clearly didn't want our business. And the hostess made absolutely no sense. Sucks cuz this place has suck good reviews. read more

Great service, great food! atmosphere leaves something to be desired. Today was my first Sunday there , I've gone weekdays before for lunch. It was extremely crowded and lotta people were waiting all over around the restaurant outside.. When we sat down, it was comfortable, and the server was excellent and very attentive despite him having several tables.He was able to keep up. Atmosphere- 4/5 Decor- 4/5 Seating- 3.5/5 Service- 5/5 Food (for our particular items)- 1/5 This is a brunch food review/rating, everything else was totally fine! Drink- Coconut Mojito 0/5 I love coconut rum and I love mojitos so I was excited about this one. Unfortunately, it was not very satisfying. It tasted like club soda with a dash of lemon juice. I asked the waiter if it even had coconut rum and he brought a 1oz shot of coconut rum...he smelled it on the way over...didn't get to try it before he poured it into my drink. I tasted a hint of coconut after that but I didn't taste the rum! I thought maybe it was a proportion issue (see glass in picture) but even after the extra ounce I could barely taste it. Espresso Martini- (ordered it creamy) friend rated it at 4/5 Southwest omelette-1/5 It was edible, so not gross. But very bland. It came with chorizo so I expected flavor from that at least. The meat was similar to ground turkey. Came with bell peppers, tomatoes, and onion topped with mild cheddar...the vegetables watered it down. Overall the flavor was just lacking- wouldn't recommend unless you like the flavor of just plain eggs no seasoning. -sides included home style potatoes...they were okay. Some pieces were chewy from over cooked. Sourdough bread tasted as it should so that was good. Huevos Rancheros-2.5/5 Chorizo terrible, bland, friend gave it rating for being filling and still edible and she enjoyed the over easy eggs. Tldr: our particular items were very bland, some drinks okay, atmosphere nice, waitress was nice and accommodating. Maybe skip the omelettes if you want flavor. Would be open to trying their sweet breakfast dishes as those items may be their strength but wouldn't re order the chorizo dishes. read more

This place is small and always has a wait but it's never to long we waited about 15 min. Cute decor and seating with a few outside tables as well. The food was so tasty the country Benedict was so good the gravy is one of my favorites with so much flavor. The lemon ricotta pancakes is so refreshing. TRY THE FRENCH TOAST!! Went in on a weekday so the place was not terribly busy. We got sat immediately. The sever was attentive and helpful. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Cinnamon Roll French Toast. Our food came out in a timely manner. Everyone seems to recommend the Chicken Fried Steak so I was surprised when I did not enjoy it. It was well overcooked which was a huge contributor. The potatoes and gravy was good. If you are a cinnamon roll lover, then the cinnamon roll French toast is for you. It is a cinnamon roll cut in half instead of bread. It is really tasty. I didn't get to take photos of everyone's food, but everyone was happy with their meals.I myself got the cinnamon French toast and it was very good, very sweet, and so large that I had to take the rest home.I ordered a chai latte with sugar free vanilla syrup hot, but they brought it to me iced.The waitress immediately had them make me a hot one and I got to keep the iced one as well.Both were so delicious.Even my husband liked it, and he isn't a tea or coffee person at all.Our children for Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries, as well as apple juice. The portions were large for little kids, but for older children or children who have a large appetite, it wouldn't be too much. I tried their Mac n cheese and it was actually very flavorful, almost has an Alfredo taste. The ambiance is nice and it was pretty busy around 8:30 am.All the seats were taken up but thankfully they had a table for us.Once w e left, there was a small family waiting for a table outside.It's a busy place.It was aesthetically pleasing and clean, and our waitress was professional and friendly. Food was pretty good for brunch fare but not the best. I got the chicken fried steak which was perfectly fine, but not one of the best I've had. This places gets a 5 for 4 reasons. First the ambiance is super freaking cute and just a bright and cheerful place to get breakfast. I wish I remembered the name of our server because she was so attentive and incredibly sweet. Even offered a to go cup for our coffees on the way out. Which was such a nice touch. The Yelp waitlist meant that we avoided the long lines and only had to wait about 5 min to be seated. Lastly, this is the best mimosa flight for the money that I've ever had. read more

This place is adorable and I've been wanting to try it for a while. Finally got out there and waited in the line to have some brunch. Sat on the patio, which was tight but fine. I was not super excited about the lack of accommodations available for a dairy free breakfast. The food was pretty good, but I think I just expected more after reading so many positive reviews. This was a few months ago, so maybe I'll give them another chance to live up to the hype. There's not much by way of brunch in the area so maybe that's part of it. But truly it was good, just not great. read more

I have been to this restaurant at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. My latest visit was for brunch with a friend this morning. Upon entering the restaurant, we were quickly and pleasantly greeted and then seated. Within moments we were provided with waters and asked about interest in any additional drinks to which we both ordered coffee. We began talking and catching up to the point that we sent the waitress away twice requesting more time to review the menu. She responded very pleasantly both times, telling us to take our time. A few minutes later upon her return we placed our orders for food. Within about 10 minutes our meals were served and everything was hot and fresh. Throughout the meal we were checked in on to make sure everything was ok and make sure we had everything we needed. Upon completing our meals the dishes were quickly cleared and the bill was left with a "no rush" comment. We sat a while after finishing coffees and talking, and a couple times more we were offered refills. We paid the bill and left, and were wished a nice rest of the day as we exited. Overall, very pleasant staff...great service...yummy food. My ONLY complaint about this restaurant is the up-charge of $1.00 EACH for a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato I requested be added to my already $14.00 breakfast sandwich. These up-charges are excessive considering what I got. I understand that some up-charges are necessary for more costly items (avocado, etc) but in this situation is was a little ridiculous. I'm also not a fan of up-charges being a surprise when you get your bill. Added expenses should be clarified by the waitstaff when an additional expense request is made by a customer. read more

But seeing as this was a close option from where we were and had good ratings, it was good, but nothing special that I would make a point to come back for. The menu was relatively large, though, so this should be a solid option if you're on the fence about what you want to eat for breakfast or lunch.

Uber/Lyft would be my recommendation, but there is a paid parking garage down a couple of streets. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). Sometimes it absolutely amazes me what people will complain about. Some girl that posted was offended and felt she was being profiled as a bilingual hispanic, and persecuted because she was overcharged on a minimum party gratuity because one person didn't show? Jesus, are you kidding me. This person that posted the review, who's name begins with an "A", compliments the food as excellent, but the service was bad ? Seriously stop, just stop ! You have no idea what you are talking about, not a clue. Every single server that works there is outstanding, and nobody attends that restaurant more than I do, so yes, I have the right to say what is not an opinion, but a fact, period. Jodie, Nathan, Key, Tonya, Ava, Bree, Raya, Julie, Lexie, Arlo, and several more work their tails off to please every single person that walks in to eat. These are not servers, they are family, so do me a favor ? Don't say anything to criticize this group of extraordinary people. If you were really in the service industry, you should understand how hard waiting tables on people who complain over nothing is, or others that try to play the race card when it is not applicable. I recently visited Sunshine Breakfast Bar and had a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly service. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so inviting and cozy, it felt like I was dining in a friend's kitchen. I ordered a coffee and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. We just spent a week in Phoenix. First day in Phoenix we were looking for breakfast. Thank goodness we found Yolk Cafe. We ate there every morning for seven days. There were 5 of us and we tried something different everyday. Eggs Benedict, Apple Crumb pancakes, Blueberry and Bacon Pancakes, Avocado Toast, Omelettes and the POTATOES!!! Portions were more than you can eat. The STAFF are wonderful, so happy and great with the customers. On our last day our waiter gave a two huge cinnamon rolls as a thank you. What a great spot! Came for the first time and was greeted by incredibly kind staff. I had the Eggs Benedict, my husband had the stuffed Breakfast Burrito and we shared some Chicken Fried Steak. Everything was delicious and fresh, some of the Fried Steak either of us have had by the way. The prices are fair, the staff is great, and the food was awesome! Definitely stop by for a great meal! We arrived on a Saturday at 11:30 and got a bar seat within 5 minutes. Our food was served just 5 minutes after ordering. The service was excellent. I had the breakfast yogurt parfait, while my wife ordered avocado toast with bacon and two eggs. Both dishes were tasty; the bacon was thick and not overly crispy. My parfait had Greek yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, sliced bananas, a drizzle of honey, and granola--simple but delicious. Absolutely great place for breakfast! The atmosphere was bright, cozy, and perfect for a relaxing morning. Feels like home dining there. So first, the entire staff was super friendly, welcoming, and just all around great. The seating is tight, I never felt like we had space for the food and drinks. This made it a bit hard to just sit and enjoy everything. The best part for sure was their Eggs Benedict and we split the Chicken Fried Steak. Several times dining there and the food really surprised me all the time. Generous portion of food and makes me so full. A fairly contemporary breakfast spot is Sunshine Breakfast Bar. The meal arrives quite quickly. Additionally, the servers are lovely. Only a few things bother me. The food is really pricey. When I requested a medium egg, it was incredibly runny, and when I want well-done eggs, I receive a medium. They were topped with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes, all unseasoned and dismally soft. It was sprinkled with cheese, and a pile of chorizo just dumped in one spot on the plate. Certainly seemed cooked separately as nothing meshed on the plate. Oh, and a few sad pieces of underripe avocado. This American cuisine was devoid of character and taste. We took a few bites of each item, looked at each other in disappointment, and gladly left the remainder on the table. Avoid if you have taste buds accustomed to good food.
